Guy Ritchie’s newest gangster series, MobLand, has a bang-up cast including Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren as crime-family heads and Tom Hardy as a fixer with all-important attributes including “handsome” and “dangerous.” That formula has generated swift success with a Paramount Plus press release indicating that 8.8 viewers watched the debut episode within one week, which adds up to the “[b]iggest global series launch week ever” for this streaming service, which is saying a lot, considering that this is the home of Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone and his approximately 42 other standalone shows.
The Ronan Bennett-created MobLand is only getting started, however, so you’ll want to know when more Shakespearean mob drama will be ready to stream.
When Will Tom Hardy’s MobLand Season 1 Episode 3 Come Out?
April 13. The third episode, entitled “Plan B,” will arrive with the following description: “Richie makes his move, putting the Harrigans on high alert; Conrad and Maeve lock horns over Eddie but agree on a Plan B; as Kevin prepares for all-out war, Harry kills two birds with one stone; an anonymous tip leads Fisk to the cemetery.”
From there, the series will finish up a 10-episode first season. And considering how popular this show is, don’t be surprised to hear renewal talk begin.
Action-mode Hardy will also star in this year’s Havoc on Netflix, but for anybody waiting to hear whether he will reprise Alfie Solomons in the Peaky Blinders movie, join the club.
Whoever said revenge is a dish best served cold never met Jessie Murph: The “Love Lies” singer delivers her vengeance while it is still pipping hot.
Today (April 11), Murph’s sonic serving of karma arrived by way of her sassy single, “Blue Strips.” The unapologetically blunt record produced by Bēkon is a fierce look at Murph’s inner firecracker.
Throughout the track, Murph sternly confesses to emotional warfare. But to her defense, her lover threw the first tear-jerking stone to kick off the romantic quarrel. “Smoking cigarettes on balconies / I ain’t jumping, but I’ll die to settle scores / All your bidness getting back to me / You don’t know it, but it’s ’bout to be a war / Blue strips / Bare tits in a strip club / Throwing ones / At your b*tch / And I know you know what’s going on / I’m going home, I’ma take it off for him / I’ma strip down all your wrongs,” she sings.
Murph’s previous release, “Gucci Mane,” shows that she enjoys listening to gangsta rap in her free time. But, “Blue Strips” demonstrates that when in it comes to love, Murph does not mind emotionally tussling to protect her heart.
Watch the visualizer for Murph’s new single “Blue Stripes” above.
It has been just about two years since the release of Young Thug’s last album, Business Is Business, which was released while the Atlanta rapper was still incarcerated during his trial on racketeering charges in Fulton County. He’s since been released and announced his first shows, both overseas and here in the States, but until now, no one quite knew when we’d hear near music from the elusive, enigmatic star.
Thanks to fans on their way to Coachella, that’s changed. As has become a bit of a trend in recent years, Thug appears to have announced an impending release via a billboard on the California freeway on the route to the legendary desert-set festival. In this case, the billboard in question features a black field with red print reading, “UNIVERSE HAS BEEN TOO QUIET. UNTIL NOW. UY SCUTI.” The lower right corner reveals a partial date, giving us at least a release window: May 2025.
It’s still unclear whether the new release will be a single or an album. Since releasing Business Is Business in summer 2023, Thug has only appeared on a handful of feature verses, most recorded before he was arrested in May 2022. The first new verse fans got since his release appeared on Lil Baby’s January album, WHAM, in the single, “Dum Dumb & Dumber” alongside Future.

WHERE TO STAY
From poolside boutique hotels to retro-chic Airbnbs with desert mountain views, Palm Springs and the Indio Valley offer a wide range of stay options to match your vibe and budget. Want to be in the heart of the party scene? There are iconic hotels with on-site DJ sets and late-night lounges. Prefer something more low-key? Opt for a quiet desert oasis where you can recharge between sets under the stars.
Drift Palm Springs
DRIFT PALM SPRINGS
This hotel has quickly become a Palm Springs staple and one of our favorites for a sexy escape. It’s stylish, boho, and feels impeccably fresh and clean. The pool scene is not chaotic but definitely features an array of Hollywood cool kids and plenty of mingling. The restaurant is an absolute highlight — with clever and elevated riffs on Mexican classics.
Perhaps one of the ultimate perks of this property is how solid and spacious it feels. Rather than feeling like you’re on top of other guests, the desert-minimalist rooms and soundproofed walls make your sanctuary feel private and quiet. Definitely the perfect property for anyone trying to balance the chaos of festivals with some deeply relaxing downtime. That philosophy is underscored by the numerous sound healings and yoga sessions available on site.
One big note: Our hotel review series always mentions “bed game” — well these beds are impeccable. The sheets are delicate and soft to the touch, with no harsh bleach smells. The pillows are soft and supple — you slowly ease into them when you lay your head down.
The Onyx House gets everything right. You walk into the place and immediately feel 20% cooler. Clearly, it was created by someone with good taste. But as great as the design and layout are, those aspects aren’t the property’s biggest perk. Here’s what hit me the hardest during a recent stay:
Best Pool And Hot Tub Of Any Rental I’ve Ever Stayed In. This isn’t even up for debate. The pool gets up to 90 degrees (I didn’t figure this out until the morning I left, sadly) and the hot tub fits eight comfortably. Both are in-ground and incredibly sleek. They’re also both saltwater — meaning your skin doesn’t get dry and your eyes don’t water from excessive chlorine. Oh, and they have lighting systems for your night hangs!
A Very Cool Gathering Space. The main living room of the Onyx house is actually separated from the bedrooms and kitchen by a hallway. There you’ll find a massive TV linked to all the streaming apps, a very comfy couch, and even barn doors to open the space up. Does it feature a bunch of cool art and rustic ceramics? You’d better believe it.
A Yoga Platform. Every morning of my life, I wake up saying “I want to do breathwork! I want to do yoga!” But I almost never have time. I did both breathwork and yoga during my stay at the Onyx House because the space spoke to those sorts of pursuits but more importantly because I had room to practice them without distraction. The yoga platform is surrounded by desert and rocks and if you’re going to do some sun salutations I can’t think of a better place to do them than while watching the sun crest over the craggy hills.
Nature All Around. The past few years have seen a land grab in “J-Tree” as LA folks with tons of style buy up properties on the cheap, remodel them, and give them cool names. But as much as everyone wants to lay claim to being an “oasis,” I’ve rarely seen a property that is truly built into the hills in this way. Whereas many trips to the desert include driving to trailheads, at the Onyx House we just walked straight up into the wilderness from the backyard. It was beautiful and made the home feel incredibly private.
Big Hotel Energy. The Onyx House is not one of those “clean every dish, strip the beds, and mop the floors” type rentals that everyone (rightfully) hates. This property is refined and operates much more like a true hotel. Check-in was easy, check-out was easier, and the property was beautifully appointed. I didn’t feel like I was in someone’s bedroom — I felt like I was at a hotel. Except better because we were the only guests.
This is the perfect property for that friend who likes to do stuff. Like… a lot of stuff. And that’s why we love it so much. The features golf, tennis, pickle ball, a spa, an arcade… and not the “we’re just doing this to say we have it” version of those amenities either. These grounds are absolutely dialed. And immense — with multiple pools and on-site restaurants.
Seriously, look at this spot:
JW Marriott
The rooms are well appointed and suites have sexy-as-hell tubs with a giant window out to the bed. Meaning that the sexiness rating of this hotel is very high. Especially when you take in all the opportunities for relaxation that are availible — from lounging poolside to spending a long day in the world class spa.
Steve Bramucci
If you like a little room to move, tons of activities, and an oasis vibe, this is your spot. Folks needing to tap in with work will love the coworking space in the lobby!
After the dust, the dancing, and the all-night sets, a little decompression is essential. Luckily, Palm Springs knows how to slow things down just as well as it knows how to party. Whether you’re nursing a post-festival haze or just craving a bit of peace and quiet, the desert offers plenty of mellow ways to recharge.
Desert Oasis

Ecstatic Dance is a free form, non-judgmental, somatic practice. It can be a good workout that improves flexibility, strength, and endurance in the body, mind, and spirit. The goal is to let your body connect with your inner world and find expression in movement.
This deeply spiritual practice can be therapeutic and help participants process subtle emotional energy. Ecstatic Dance is a safe space for movement and expression, and some guidelines include no shoes, free, comfortable clothing, no alcohol or drugs, no talking.
As soon as you walk in The Spa at Séc-he, it’s clear that every aspect of the space was thought through in great detail. From the design elements honoring the history and culture of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians, the circular layout of this massive wellness center, the unique, one-of-a-kind massage tables, the decor of the waiting rooms — everything has a story, a reason for being, and an in-depth explanation.
On top of that, Séc-he is truly an epicenter for all of your wellness needs. Not only do they offer every type of massage therapy you can imagine (the list is longer than the Cheesecake Factory menu), but with a “Taking of the Waters Day-Pass,” one can easily spend an entire day taking advantage of the spa’s many amenities and still walk away as relaxed as ever.
The pass allows access to some things that you’ve seen at most spas—access to a steam and sauna room, cold plunge, fitness center, pool, and hot tub access, relaxing common areas, and grooming amenities. But even these offerings are far from typical. The steam room has eucalyptus for promoting skin health and improving your respiratory wellness while acting as a natural stimulant to re-energize you. The sauna includes menthol inhalation, which is known to provide symptomatic relief for upper airway congestion and reduces capsaicin cough sensitivity. The showers are equipped with aromatherapy steam and vitamin C-infused water. The bright smell and feel of this water was so divine, I took three showers during my day visiting this spa.
Not for nothing, but if you want to see famous people at leisure during Coachella… this is the spot. That said, they’re here to relax — let them be.
Netflix‘s The Diplomat celebrates messy-haired Keri Russell as the frustrated Kate Wyler, who of course endured another cliffhanger finale, thanks to Hal (Rufus Sewell). The chronically meddling Hal had managed to incite a presidential heart attack, and as a result, Kate will find out whether successor Grace Penn (Allison Janney) plans to keep her enemies (i.e., Kate) closer.
Don’t worry, this next chapter will have more episodes than viewers experienced last time, and more The West Wing vibes will arrive with Bradley Whitford joining this series as the First Gentleman. Of course, lingering questions include not only whether Kate will become VP but also when we could see this happen.
When Will The Diplomat Season 3 Come Out On Netflix?
No precise date has been pinpointed yet, but Netflix is planning on a 2025 return which means that The Diplomat is in fine company with Wednesday, Stranger Things, and Emily In Paris.
When the series does return, Hal will not have regrets, and much of the action will take place in London and New York. Returning cast members will include not only Russell, Sewell, and Janney, but also David Gyasi (as British Foreign Secretary Austin Dennison), Rory Kinnear (as British Prime Minister Nicol Trowbridge), Ali Ahn (as CIA Station Chief Eidra Park), and Ato Essandoh (as Deputy Chief of Mission Stuart Hayford). That list doesn’t include Michael McKean, so presumably, Hal’s antics really did kill President Rayburn.
Who will Hal kill next? Nobody has clarified his next agenda, but surely, he’ll continue to be a stinker.
Mariah Carey has become synonymous with heartfelt ballads, while Kaytranada is famous for his dance floor anthems. Today (April 11), the Grammy Award-winning musicians merged their sonic signatures for an infectious collaborations fans are gushing over.
To celebrate Carey’s forthcoming The Emancipation Of Mimi (20th Anniversary Edition) reissue, the chart-topper tapped Kaytranada for a “Don’t Forget About Us” remix. Instead of stripping the record of its gut-wrenching emotion, Kaytranada masterfully crafted a raw groove to amplify that vulnerability. Whether you’re a Lamb (Mariah Carey superfan) or a newbie to her discography, this re-imagined tune honors its legacy with a fresh perspective.
In a statement, Carey raved about re-releasing her revered body of work. “I’m really happy to celebrate ‘Mimi’s Emancipation’ with this special anniversary re-release,” she said. “While working on this edition, I got to relive all the memories from this pivotal moment in my personal and professional life. This album has some of my biggest hits to date, as well as some personal favorites that are very special to me. Forgotten gems, unreleased bonus tracks and different remixes with incredible collaborators – all of these and more are now available in one place for the first time ever!”
Listen to the remix above.
The Emancipation Of Mimi (20th Anniversary Edition) is out 5/30 via Def Jam/UMe. Find more information here.
PinkPantheress promised that she was going to be “soooo back” in 2025. She wasn’t kidding: the “Tonight” singer announced that her new mixtape is coming out soon. But what PinkPantheress didn’t mention is that she’s also soooo tall.
A PinkPantheress fan account recently shared a video on X of the singer doing “The Tonight Challenge” with rapper Doechii. A majority of the replies are about the height difference between the artists: “this is NOT what height i thought either of them were,” “their respective heights have really thrown me off, I need a minute,” “is doechii short or is pinkpantheress tall?” And so on.
In response, PinkPantheress wrote, “you guys didn’t know i was a whole 5″9 feet tall?!!!” She also added the Kenya flag emoji. Doechii joined in on the height-based fun, posting, “And yall didn’t know I was 5’2???”
According to the National Center For Health Statistics, the average height for an adult woman in the United States is 5 feet and 3.5 inches. That means PinkPantheress is many inches above average and Doechii is slightly below average (although not as a rapper; she’s well above average there).
But if you’re putting together a basketball team of female rappers, 5’10” Megan Thee Stallion should be your first pick, even if she doesn’t think so.
You can check out the interaction between PinkPantheress and Doechii here.
After the breakout success of their GNX collaboration, and just ahead of the start of their Grand National Tour, Kendrick Lamar and SZA have released the long-awaited video for “Luther.”
The dreamy visuals match the slower paced tempo of the song, as Kendrick and SZA take part in separate romantic rendezvous at the same hotel. The photography is crisp and pretty, with plenty of exquisitely composed, nearly still frames of Kendrick and his companion gazing at each other longingly, while SZA struts through the hallways on her way to her beau’s hotel room.
In the wake of the single’s success, SZA detailed its creation on Sherri earlier this year, saying, “He’s such a genius, and part of his genius is him being so elusive, and so mysterious, and I love it. I don’t know what’s going on as much as you don’t know what’s going on. When ‘Luther’ came on, I said, ‘OK, that’s the vocals we’re using, period,’ and same with Gloria: I said, ‘OK,’ and I love that.”

Poker Face has all the elements of a great show: a charismatic star (Natasha Lyonne); a talented creator (Rian Johnson, who also wrote and directed Star Wars: The Last Jedi; a masterpiece), and a fun premise.
Every episode of the Columbo-inspired Peacock series has Charlie Cale (played by Lyonne) solving a different case using her unique ability to tell when someone is lying.
Season 1 was one of the best shows of 2023, and it’s coming back soon for season 2. But when exactly?
When Does Poker Face Season 2 Come Out?
The first three episodes of Poker Face season 2 premiere on Peacock on May 8, followed by a new episode on subsequent Thursdays.
In a note from Lyonne and Johnson, they wrote, “To bring season 2 to life, we pulled visual inspiration from American ’70s cinema, all the stuff we love like Robert Altman, Bob Rafelson, Peter Bogdanovich. But the backbone of this show is TV – the kind of TV we grew up watching, episodic case of the week gems like Columbo and The Rockford Files and Quantum Leap. Each episode is a mini movie, existing in its own world with a unique tone and vibe, featuring an eccentric lot of characters played by a truly gonzo parade of guest stars.”
That list includes Alia Shawkat, Awkwafina, Carol Kane, Cynthia Erivo, David Alan Grier, David Krumholtz, Ego Nwodim, Geraldine Viswanathan, Giancarlo Esposito, Haley Joel Osment, John Cho, John Mulaney, Justin Theroux, Katie Holmes, Kumail Nanjiani, Lauren Tom, Margo Martindale, Melanie Lynskey, Method Man, Natasha Leggero, Patti Harrison, Rhea Perlman, Richard Kind, Sam Richardson, Simon Rex, and Taylor Schilling.
You can watch the Poker Face season 2 teaser trailer above.
New York underground rapper Billy Woods is currently promoting his upcoming album Golliwog, which he announced last month and drops in a couple of weeks. Following up the release of the lead single, “Misery,” Woods shares the menacing “Blk Zmby,” which continues his interrogation of some of the myths, stereotypes, and tropes used to define and undermine the lives of Black Americans throughout the country’s harrowing history.
Produced by Steel Tipped Dove, the cacophonous beat impresses the uneasy mood of a horror film over the proceedings, while Woods unpacks the ills of capitalism and modern society with a tongue-twisting, metaphor-ridden verse. “Walking dead, no way, brother,” he raps. “The uninterred hopped in Range’s rover / You already know that chauffeur gold, Mercedes is a go / Did a harvest, whether House Atreides or Harkonnens, that oil gotta flow.”
Woods explainined the inspiration behind Golliwog, which is named after a type of doll, in the press release for the album, setting the stage for a thoughtful sort of horror story in the vein of Get Out or Lovecraft Country. “When I was nine years old, I wrote a story about an evil golliwog,” he said. “My mother read it and told me it was overly derivative and needed some work. Here we are.”
Listen to Billy Woods’ “Blk Zmby” above.
Golliwog is out 5/9 on Backwoodz Studioz.
