With the holiday season in full swing, Jimmy Kimmel felt it was time to release a Christmas album filled to the brim with one of the most festive sound in the world: Those weird little noises Donald Trump makes when he’s rambling on about God knows what.
During Wednesday night’s episode, Kimmel unveiled Donald Trump’s MAGA-nificent Sounds of Christmas, which featured renditions of “Carol of the Bells,” “Jingle Bells,” and “Silent Night” all beautifully crafted with Trump’s weird little verbal tics like “bing, bong, bing, bong” and countless others. It’s sure to warm the heart of families across the nation.
Kimmel also roped Melania Trump into the action by sharing a bonus album affectionately titled, Who Gives a F**k About Christmas Stuff?, a riff on the infamous recording of the former First Lady saying exactly that after being tasked with decorating the White House for the holidays.
As Kimmel’s mock commercial continued, it directed buyers to the cash register at T.J. Maxx and also joked that you can order online using the promo code “PRENUP.”
According to The Independent, Kimmel unleashed the gag on the heels of Donald Trump releasing a new series of NFT trading cards featuring pop culture depictions of his mugshot called “The Mugshot Edition.” Unlike the Christmas album, the mugshot trading cards are very real and further prove that nothing is more hilarious than the actual lengths Trump will go to for money and/or attention.
Spoiler alert for the current season of The Masked Singer, so stop reading now if you’re not caught up: John Oates of Hall & Oates fame was the Anteater, as was revealed when he was eliminated on last night’s (December 13) episode. In an Entertainment Weekly interview about the show, Oates spoke about the lawsuit Daryl Hall has filed against him and what sort of future he sees for the duo.
He was asked if he thinks he’d ever perform with Hall again and he responded, “Oh, you know what, I never say never to anything. I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I just want… right now, I’m focused on where I am in life and leading the best life I can and moving forward.”
Oates also answered a question about the connection between his Anteater costume and the Hall & Oates song “Maneater,” saying, “That’s funny that you should say that, because I thought of that. That was the first thing I thought of. They were trying to make a connection between ‘Maneater’ and anteater, but no one else seemed to get that for some reason, which I found kind of surprising. To be honest with you, I didn’t really like the costume when I first saw the drawing of it, but they twisted my arm and convinced me that it would be cool. And I’m like, ‘Oh, God, all right, sure. Why not?’”
Patti Smith has canceled her concerts and appearances in Italy after being hospitalized for an illness, according to Rolling Stone.
“With great regret, we inform the kind audience that the Patti Smith concert scheduled for today… will not be able to be staged due to a sudden illness that struck the artist,” the venue shared in an Instagram post, which the publication translated from Italian.
Since then, the Local Health Authority Of Bologna told the Los Angeles Times that Smith had been discharged from the hospital on Wednesday, December 13 after “a short period of observation in emergency.” They also shared a photo of her to show that she is “in good health conditions.”
The canceled shows included a Tuesday night concert in Bologna, along with upcoming appearances that had been scheduled in Venice and Milan for this week.
Earlier this year, Smith had been quite busy. She popped up at The National’s concert in September, where they performed a duet of the band’s song, “I Need My Girl.” After Christmas, she is also set to play two nights at Brooklyn Steel on December 29 and 30.
From there, if all goes well, Smith is scheduled for two shows next year in Dublin, performing at Vicar Street in June. More information can be found here.

It’s been a long road trying to get a Beverly Hills Cop reboot off the ground with plenty of rumors and a failed CBS pilot that was supposed to hand the franchise off to Axel Foley’s son (Brandon T. Jackson), but now we’re finally here and star Eddie Murphy is bringing out friends old and new to help stick the landing in a new film for Netflix.
Coming in Summer 2024, 30 years after the disappointing and bloated Beverly Hills Cop III (which found Axel chasing a case into the bowels of a Disneyland type theme park to uncover a counterfeit operation) and 40 years after the original action comedy classic, Axel F treads familiar territory. Murphy’s smartassed Detroit-bred cop is going back (back) to Cali wreck some buffets and turn a few bureaucrat’s faces red. At first glance, it looks like Kevin Bacon may be playing one such bureaucrat/authority figure while Joseph Gordon Levitt is on-board as a fellow cop and sidekick, flying choppers into traffic and rocking some seriously fab hair. Paul Reiser, Judge Reinhold, John Ashton, and Bronson Pinchot are also back in supporting roles, though the extent of their on-camera involvement is unknown. Here’s the synopsis:
Detective Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy) is back on the beat in Beverly Hills. After his daughter’s life is threatened, she (Taylour Paige) and Foley team up with a new partner (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and old pals Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) and John Taggart (John Ashton) to turn up the heat and uncover a conspiracy.
Directed by relative newcomer Mark Molloy (an award-winner for some commercial shorts for Apple who replaced Batgirl and Bad Boys For Life directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah), Axel F looks like it’ll check all the boxes you’d want from a reboot of a beloved ’80s franchise, but will it offer much more than a few explosions, quips, and nostalgia? Will it have the edge that the first film and 1987’s Beverly Hills Cop II had?
Reboots are nothing new for Murphy. He struck gold working with Amazon on the long gestating Coming To America sequel in 2021, but that was a product of a team up between him and director Craig Brewer (a more experienced filmmaker and past collaborator of Murphy’s) that was majorly helped by the star’s willingness to step back at times and let Jermaine Fowler and the rest of the ensemble get some laughs. Time will tell if that’s the play here or if it’s even needed, but the chance to see Murphy step back into what is likely considered his signature role is too good to ignore outright, even if it might wind up feeling more like a greatest hits album than something fresh.

The only scarier than a venomous spider? An entire soccer team sliding into your DMs.
Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell filmed their upcoming romantic comedy, Anyone But You, in Australia. “I love it,” the Euphoria actress told the Smallzy Surgery podcast. “I’ve downloaded multiple real estate apps to look into moving to Australia.” The locals wouldn’t mind if she lived there, too.
During an appearance on Thursday’s episode of the Australian talk show The Morning, Sweeney discussed attending her first Australian Football League (AFL) game. “I had a lot of questions. First of all, why are the shorts so short?” she joked. “I had a blast. I got to meet everybody. I want to go back.”
Powell chimed in, “Well, they had a good time meeting Sydney as well. The whole team slid into her DMs afterward. It was… Australia wanted to welcome her to town fast.” Sweeney agreed, adding, “Yeah… in a very big way.” The Sydney Swans will have to compete with Powell (allegedly), who nearly died while taking his pants off in front of his co-star.
“Taking your clothes off on the side of a cliff in a hurry is not safe either,” the Top Gun: Maverick star explained. “Nobody talks about that safety issue on set, where I almost died falling off a cliff taking my pants off too fast. But it’s a really fun scene, so it was all worth it.”
Netflix is ready for the new year with a heaping helping of new TV shows and a wide array of cinematic library additions, too. Once you ditch that January 1 resolution in three days, tops, then you will have more time to bingewatch like it’s 2024. On the subject of the film library, three John Wick movies are joining the streaming platform along with some Jurassic Park.
If that’s not enough library action for you, Netflix is also substantially beefing up their selection of available games. Currently, you can check out Death’s Door and Word Trails, and as of December 14, three Grand Theft Auto additions will be at your disposal (at no extra charge): GTA III – The Definitive Edition, GTA: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition, and GTA: Vice City – The Definitive Edition. Perhaps that will give you even more avenues to work out that angst about GTA 6 not arriving for a very long time.
Television also isn’t slowing down anytime soon. The Narcos gang is back with Griselda, and Kevin Smith will present the final season of his Masters of the Universe series. Additionally, the Queer Eye guys head back to New Orleans for their eighth season, and Love is Blind: Sweden gets rolling.
Here’s everything coming to (and leaving) Netflix in January.
Griselda (Netflix series streaming 1/25)
Here comes “the Godmother” of cocaine. Original Narcos co-creator Doug Miro and Narcos: Mexico executive producer Eric Newman team up to tell the story of Colombian drug cartel leader Griselda Blanco, a prolific cocaine trafficker as portrayed by Sofia Vergara. We haven’t seen the Modern Family star get dramatic on TV yet, so this series should attract eyeballs for more reasons than one. Griselda reigned in Miami in the 1970-’80s, and her tour of terror included operating under 20 aliases, moving hundreds of kilos per month, and ordering dozens of murders.
Masters of the Universe: Revolution (Netflix series streaming 1/25)
Kevin Smith (along with his worst tweet) is wrapping up his oddly controversial 1980s revival series on Netflix, and hey look, there’s still plenty of He-Man to be found here. Skeletor has become newly mechanized, and he’s still going for the soul of Eternia, but Tesla is now Sorceress Tesla, so hopefully, she will save everyone’s ass once and for all. The ragers will love that, for sure.
Good Grief (Netflix film streaming 1/25)
Daniel Levy makes his directorial debut while also portraying Marc, a wallflower who always yielded the spotlight to his husband, Oliver (Luke Evans). Sadly, Oliver dies, and this leads Marc on a quest to Paris to dig up some possibly uncomfortable truths. Ruth Negga and Himesh Patel play Marc’s sidekicks/BFFs, and get ready for both tears and bittersweet laughter.
