Cardi B promised an eventful week full of surprise announcements ahead of her album release, and no matter what, you can’t say she didn’t deliver. After revealing the features that would appear on Am I The Drama? and announcing the dates of her Little Miss Drama tour, Cardi immediately cast doubt on those tour plans by revealing that she is once again pregnant, with her fourth child.
In an interview with Gayle King on CBS Mornings, Cardi broke the news that she’s expecting a child with her new boyfriend, New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs. The baby will be Diggs’ first. The couple was first rumored to be dating in October 2024, but did not confirm a relationship until this past July. Fans had been speculating on the possibility that Cardi might be pregnant in the lead-up to the announcement, but as always, the rapper remained firmly in control of her own narrative.
Since 2018, Cardi B has been co-parenting multiple children with her ex-husband Offset, so she’s used to having a big brood running around. In 2018, their first child, Kulture, was born; they followed up with Wave in 2022; their third child, Blossom Belle, was born last September, after Cardi filed for divorce from Offset.
Meanwhile, the new arrival Cardi fans have been waiting for since 2019 will be arriving this Friday; Am I The Drama? is due for release on 9/19 via Atlantic Records.
Ed Sheeran just released his album Play a few days ago. That might seem like a happy occasion, but Sheeran actually doesn’t enjoy the week after releasing a new album, he has revealed.
Speaking with hosts Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden on Heart Breakfast today (September 17), Sheeran explained:
“If I’m being honest, I don’t enjoy release week. I think I love making music and I love touring music, and I think that the bridge between the two is releasing albums. Obviously, you have to put albums out there for people to digest and then come to the shows. But yeah, it’s never fun putting it out and getting, like, ragged on for a week. But this week will end, and next week will begin, and the album will settle in. It’s happened every single record that I’ve put out. You put it out, people have an opinion, then they move on, and then your fans find it and then you tour it.”
He added, “I feel like the positive comes after release week. Release week is a time where artists put themselves out there and everyone has the opportunity to rag on them for the week. So it does actually feel like quite a negative week.”
A couple months ago, we got “Today’s Song,” the first new Foo Fighters single in two years. Now, it looks like a more robust comeback is on the way, as a new jokey AI teaser video from the band indicates.
The fake Dave Grohl starts, “Hey, everyone. It’s been a while, but I’m happy to announce that Foo Fighters are coming back to bring you that 100-percent real, raw, human element of rock and roll. I mean, with a setlist like this, you can’t go wrong.” Then, he holds up a sheet of paper filled with nonsense letters.
Nate Mendel, sporting some bizarre-looking fingers, then adds, “After 30 years of being a band, we’ve realized that the most important thing to us is that what you see and hear coming from our speakers is the genuine passion of the six living, breathing human beings on stage.”
The bit goes on from there, and eventually, Grohl introduces Ilan Rubin, the band’s newest drummer and replacement for Josh Freese. It then cuts to a shot of Rubin playing on a wraparound drum kit, beating away with all ten of his arms. The video ends with an on-screen message: “Stay tuned… there’s more to come!!!”
Cardi B’s new album, Am I The Drama?, is finally arriving after years of delays this Friday, September 19. While she has yet to reveal the tracklist — which will include her previously released singles, “WAP” and “Up,” and newly released “Imaginary Playerz” — she has shared the featured artists that will appear on it.
In addition to expected names like frequent collaborators Lizzo and Megan Thee Stallion, there are up-and-coming talents like fellow New Yorker Cash Cobain and breakout R&B stars Summer Walker and Tyla. There are also some unexpected names, including Janet Jackson(!) and Selena Gomez(!!).
During a Spaces chat with fans, Cardi explained why other names fans might have expected didn’t appear on the album, saying, “We have asked and everything but one thing I don’t do: I don’t beg, baby… If y’all wanted these artists on the f*cking album, well, maybe y’all should have called them. ‘Cause I did… I can’t control people.”
Cardi said earlier this week that she’ll have an announcement every day until the release. She followed through earlier today with the reveal of her Little Miss Drama tour dates, and with two days left until the release, that tracklist has to be on Wednesday or Thursday.
In a few days, Lola Young’s new album I’m Only F**king Myself will be here. In the lead-up to the album, she has also been busting out some covers.
Back in February, she covered the Arctic Monkeys classic “I Wanna Be Yours,” and now, she has taken to the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge. There, she turned in a rendition of Sabrina Carpenter’s latest hit, “Manchild.” Young’s performance puts her powerhouse vocals at the forefront as she’s backed by a groovy live band. Here’s a clip.

Mark Ronson has led quite the life in and adjacent to show business, and now he has chronicled it in a new book, Night People: How To Be A DJ In ’90s New York City, which was released today (September 16).
Ronson spoke with Today about his motivations behind writing the book, saying, “I love the music from that era, the ’90s and early 2000s — it was a time in my life where I was so excited. You know, you’re 18, 19, finding your passion and your craft. And then, to be honest, a lot of my friends in that era were passing, so I wanted to find a way to remember them and this amazing little scene that we made.”
Ronson also shared with the show an anecdote about how his mother once brought Robin Williams home when he was a kid to surprise him.
“Lady Gaga, Adele, Amy Winehouse, Dua Lipa, Bruno Mars, Miley Cyrus, the Barbie soundtrack — behind some of the biggest musical moments in the past two decades is one man: Mark Ronson. Night People conjures the undeniable magic of the city’s bygone nightlife — a time when clubs were diverse, glamorous, and a little lawless, and each night brought a heady mix of music, ambition, danger, delight, and possibility. It’s about the beauty of what you can create with just two Technics and a mixer, in a golden era before Giuliani, camera phones, and bottle service upended everything. It’s also about a teenager finding his way — stalking DJ Stretch Armstrong and biting his mixes, crate-digging in every corner of New York, grinding gig after gig through a decade of incredible music — and finding a community of people who, in their own strange, cracked ways, lived for the night.
Organized around the venues that defined his experience of the downtown scene, Ronson evokes the specific rush of that decade and those spaces — where fashion folks and rappers on the rise danced alongside club kids and 9-to-5’ers — and invites us into the tribe of creatives and partiers who came alive when the sun went down. A heartfelt coming-of-age tale, Night People is the definitive account of ’90s New York nightlife and the making of a musical mastermind.”

Last year, Faye Webster put her interest in yoyo at the forefront and launched the Faye Webster YoYo Invitational. Webster apparently had a pretty good time with it, as today (September 16), she announced the return of the event.
This time will be different, though. The event is now called just the Faye Webster Invitational and that’s due to its expanded scope: Aside from yoyo, the event — now spanning two days, from October 25 to 26 — will highlight LiveBall tennis and chess. Of those, though, only the yoyo showcase and concert will be open to ticketed audiences. It’s all going down in Webster’s hometown of Atlanta.
The yoyo showcase and concert will be on October 26 at The Eastern. It is set to feature 12 yoyo masters unleashing “their most daring, intricate, and mesmerizing tricks in a no-rules, no-limitations showcase,” as well as a solo performance from Webster and special guest Erika De Casier. Tickets go on pre-sale starting September 17 at noon ET, followed by the general on-sale starting September 19 at 10 a.m. ET. More information can be found here.
October 25 will feature the tennis tournament at Sharon Lester Tennis Center at Piedmont Park. On the 26th will be the chess tournament, featuring 100 competitors. Details for interested participants will be available here on September 23
In a 2021 interview with Uproxx, Webster explained how she first got into yoyo, saying, “I just got one for Christmas, just as like a sh*tty stocking stuffer. It was right before we went on tour, so I just brought it not thinking that I’d actually use it every day. It wasn’t really until I found other players online and connected with them and actually saw what it could escalate to. That’s when I realized how fun it is.”
Goldenvoice has announced the lineup for the 2026 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, and per usual, it features a who’s-who of today’s biggest acts and hottest rising stars from across seemingly every genre. However, if you’re a hip-hop fan, you may notice that there’s significantly less of it on the new lineup than there was on this year’s, when Megan Thee Stallion and Missy Elliott held court on the biggest stages, or even years past, when the biggest names on the flyer were also the biggest in the hip-hop scene.
And while the headlines for next year’s festival have an emphasis on pop — with Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber, and Karol G closing the three nights, respectively — there are still plenty of hip-hop acts being highlighted that deserve your attention.
Here are the rappers and hip-hop acts you should check out at Coachella 2026, and why.
Central Cee

UK rap rarely reaches such heights in the US, so it’s usually a good sign when us Yanks show so much buy-in for what a Brit’s selling. In Cee’s case, that’s compelling, autobiographical storytelling with a motivational bent, and a carefully designed climb including strategic collabs with American pop rap mainstays like Drake and street faves like Lil Baby and 21 Savage. As a result, his debut album Can’t Rush Greatness was the first top-ten UK rap album in America, along with its chart-topping bow across the pond.
Clipse

This performance will be a capstone of sorts to Malice and Pusha T’s reunion tour, which has seen the Virginian sibling act take stages as far-flung and historical as the Vatican. Let God Sort Em Out has held a solid place in the general discourse as one of the top rap albums of the year, and earning a second-line billing at Coachella is a testament to fans’ enthusiasm for Clipse’s comeback.
Little Simz

Another Londoner who has managed to carve out a niche here in the States, Simz’s appeal is different from Cee’s in a few key ways. For one, her brand is more multimedia, as standout screen roles in properties like Top Boy, Venom, and the upcoming Steve make her more recognizable, and projects such as Sometimes I Might Be Introvert or her newest album Lotus have endeared her to fans of more heady, expansive rap.
Sexyy Red
Philip Cosores
What a stellar career Sexyy Red has had. An unlikely star from St. Louis, her raunchy raps caught on with audiences in a way that went from a jokey embrace to one that was as earnest as the love for any pop star; Through it all, Sexyy stayed true to herself. Other markers of her broad appeal: a hosting gig for WWE and EDM collaborations for movie soundtracks. Get it, Sexyy.
Young Thug

If there’s one absolutely can’t-miss rap act on the Coachella bill, it’s Young Thug. After spending nearly two years incarcerated on trumped-up charges before accepting a plea deal for his freedom last year, Thug began to dip his toes back into performing earlier this year with a pair of well-received sets at smaller festivals. Accepting a Coachella billing says he’s ready to get back to work in earnest, and that he might just have a new full-length body of work ready to perform by new April.
The DC-area edition of the All Things Go festival is set to launch soon, running from September 26 to 28 at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Maryland. This year’s lineup is led by Noah Kahan, Doechii, Djo, Lucy Dacus, Clairo, Kesha, The Marías, Faye Webster, and more.
For those who can’t make it in person, Amazon Music announced today (September 16), that they will exclusively livestream this year’s festival. The broadcast will be available on the Amazon Music channel on Twitch and Prime Video.
Kirdis Postelle, global head of content for Amazon Music, said in a statement, “Streaming All Things Go was a no brainer for us at Amazon Music. All Things Go has built an incredible reputation for showcasing groundbreaking artists and fostering an inclusive community of passionate music lovers. This livestream allows us to extend that special festival experience beyond Merriweather Post Pavilion to audiences everywhere.”
