Let’s be honest, most folks have no idea what they’re doing in their sleep. Unless you’re tossing and turning, you’re blissfully unconscious for approximately six to eight hours if you’re lucky. You have no clue if you stole the covers from your partner to wrap up like a human burrito or if you sat up abruptly to do the Macarena because you were dreaming of dancing at a friend’s wedding.
Most people are likely doing nothing more exciting that snoring, drooling or accidentally backhanding their partner if they have one. There are some people that become chatter boxes when they’re sleeping whether its coherent sentences or jumbled nonsense. But there are those rare ones that not only want to chit chat while they snooze but get up to do things that they may consider strange.
A woman that goes by the name Celina SpookyBoo on TikTok recently posted a video of her own sleepwalking shenanigans and commenters can’t get enough.
In the video that has racked up over 28 million views, Celina sits up in bed with her eyes wide open while being recorded with a night vision camera. “There’s goats. There’s seven goats,” she says before getting completely out of bed and doing what appears to be some sort of Irish jig. Celina says several random phrases before laying down on a storage bench at the foot of her bed and saying, “I’ll have a grilled cheese, it’s fine.”
So many questions. Is she cooking the grilled cheese on the storage bench? Is someone else making her the tasty snack in her dream? It doesn’t stop there. At one point she appears to almost be acting out the famous scene from Hamlet before appearing from the door way to declare, “I am Chris Hanson.” You know, the guy from Dateline and To Catch a Predator. Commenters were amused by the random sleep walking activities.
“The little Irish step dancing is KILLING me,” someone writes with a laughing emoji.

On Monday, President Joe Biden signed an executive order to place standards and security measures on rapidly evolving artificial intelligence, which may help thwart one of those robotic takeovers movies have been warning us about for decades. Thing is, Biden might not have been so worried about its dangerous potential had he not watched the most recent M:I.
In a new piece by The Associated Press (in a bit teased out by Variety), Biden watched Mission: Impossible: Dead Reckoning during what was supposed to be a relaxing weekend at Camp David. Instead, he found a movie in which the villain is a rogue AI known as “The Entity,” which sinks a submarine in the opening scene and, at one point, copies our heroes’ voices and sows chaos.
“If he hadn’t already been concerned about what could go wrong with AI before that movie, he saw plenty more to worry about,” said deputy White House Chief of Staff Bruce Reed, who watched the film with him.
Will Biden’s actions protect people from the more nefarious aspects of AI tech? And if do we have Tom Cruise and his screenwriters to thank? The action items on the order won’t start being rolled out for another 90 days, but here are some of its details, according to Variety:
The executive order, which the White House says “directs the most sweeping actions ever taken to protect Americans from the potential risks of AI systems,” includes developing standards, tools and tests to ensure safety in AI systems; and requiring AI developers to share their safety test results and other critical information with the U.S. government. The order also directs guidance for “content authentication and watermarking to clearly label AI-generated content,” as to protect people from AI-driven fraud.
Mission: Impossible 7 is now available for streaming rental and won’t hit Paramount+ until February. People will have to wait a lot longer for its follow-up, which recently scored both a new release date and a new, as-yet-unveiled title.
In the wake of Matthew Perry’s sudden passing, tributes have poured in from fans and from those who knew and loved him. There have been good stories, too. One offers a look into an alternate timeline in which Perry didn’t do Friends but rather another sitcom, one involving alien luggage.
Deciderdug up an old Late Night with Seth Meyers clip from 2015, in which Perry recalled the desperate times before he got the gig that would change his life. Still a struggling actor, eking by without a cent to his name, he lucked into a new pilot. It was called LAX 2194, and he described it as being about “about baggage handlers at the LA airport in the year 2194.”
The show required him wear a “futuristic shirt,” he said. “And little people played the aliens in which I had to sort out the aliens’ luggage, and that was basically the show.”
It was around this time that Perry was sent the pilot script for what was then called Friends Like Us. “And there was this part that was perfect for me and it was making me crazy that I couldn’t go up for it because of the baggage handlers show,” he said. “I was losing my mind.”
Luckily, LAX 2194 was apparently so terrible that the powers that be took mercy on him.
“Somebody at Fox at the time said, ‘We’ve seen this, it’s the worst thing we’ve ever seen in our lives. He is available. You can hire him for your little show called Friends Like Us that then became Friends,’” Perry recalled.
Did said Fox exec make the right call? Was the world robbed a hilarious show about Matthew Perry working at a futuristic airport? All that currently exists of it online is a quickie commercial that doesn’t feature him (but does prominently show future Drew Carey Show actor Ryan Stiles). Joel Embiid has never been shy about how Triple H is his all-time favorite wrestler, and as it turns out, this keeps costing him money. After getting hit with a $25,000 fine for doing a D-Generation X crotch chop during the Philadelphia 76ers’ series against the Brooklyn Nets, Embiid has once again lost out on some cash for doing DX’s famous gesture.
During the team’s 126-98 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday, Embiid scored, got fouled, and celebrated his upcoming and-one by doing the visual representation of what comes after anyone in DX says “and if you’re not down with that, I’ve got two words for ya.”

Well, it turns out the NBA didn’t like that Embiid did this again, so on Tuesday, it was announced that he’s getting hit with a $35,000 fine this time.
It is worth mentioning that, the last time this happened to Embiid, Triple H took to Twitter and said he’d help with a larger check that the reigning NBA MVP could send to the league if he wanted to keep doing this. It is unclear if that actually happened, but the good news is an opportunity to do that has once again presented itself … and our hunch is that Embiid is going to keep doing this when the opportunity arises.

This style isn’t currently prevalent around the craft scene. Check around for any extra special bitters on store shelves and try it. Or get the classic Fuller’s ESB from England.
Tasting Notes:
Biscuit-like malts, caramel, orange peel, honey, light hops, and a dry finish make it a perfect companion for your favorite whiskey.
My choice for an ideal autumn boilermaker would be a Lagunitas IPA and a shot of Basil Hayden’s Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey. Forget the combo of well whiskey and a macro lager, the boilermaker is making a comeback due to the plethora of craft beers available to the discerning two-fisted drinker.
Tasting Notes:
Lagunitas IPA is highly balanced and super drinkable which pairs excellently with Basil Hayden’s notes of pepper, charred oak, and vanilla.

Breakside Brewing’s Life Barleywine epitomizes the ideal barleywine-style ale for me. A glass of bourbon would perfectly accentuate the nuances of this strong ale.
Tasting Notes:
Its exceptional balance boasts a rich malt profile without any overpowering caramel or sweetness. It’s a wonderful complement to the sweet corn, vanilla, and oak flavor of a well-made bourbon.
When it comes to pairing beer and bourbon, I want to taste the bourbon, I want something a little roasty to pair up with the charred oak barrel flavors in the whiskey, but not an overwhelming beer. I want the bourbon up front for a lingering enjoyment and then have a light roasty beer to clean the palate up for the next sip For that I love a good Schwartz bier or clean crisp dark lager. One of my favorites is Baltimore’s Union Craft Brewery’s Blackwing Lager.
Tasting Notes:
It is nicely bready, with hints of rye bread and toasted nuts, with a hint of light roasty coffee, and a hint (just a hint) of smokiness. First the bourbon – wait – and then the dark lager finish.
Faircraft Brauhaus Iron Hearth Rauchbier pairs well with bourbon. I know this because I’ve done it. This smoky beer and a sweet, complex bourbon are a perfect match, especially on a cool fall evening.
Tasting Notes:
Iron Hearth has a perfect level of smokiness that doesn’t completely overpower you. That same smokiness lends itself well to a nicely aged bourbon.
When having a beer back, I like a lighter beer with a flavor profile that will lurk in the background. Neshaminy Creek Warehouse Lager is described as a “Mexican-style Lager that has a clean, grainy malt character with a subtle sweetness and a crisp, dry finish with a whisper of German noble hops.” And brewer Jason Ranck and crew have really nailed it.
Tasting Notes:
It slides down easily because their restrained use of adjunct grains keeps the brew from smelling like a bowl of creamed corn, like the actual Mexican lagers. It pairs well with complex, flavorful bourbons.

Odell Brewing Co’s 90 Shilling pairs perfectly with a glass of bourbon. If you go beyond flavor, 90 Shilling has a rich history for Odell and that’s something that may not impact flavor but impacts the experience of having it with something as time-tested as bourbon.
Tasting Notes:
It’s smooth and medium-bodied, and the crystal malts in it give it a nice touch of sweetness to counter the burn of the bourbon while at the same time emphasizing caramel notes across both beverages.
A great bottled-in-bind bourbon delivers a nice mix of toffee, caramel, and cinnamon spice along with some oaky tannins. That can be a lot for your palate to process. I look to a nice Helles-style Lager or Thank You For Existing Kölsch from DSSOLVR for a bit of relief.
Tasting Notes:
The malty backbone, delicate hopping, and crisp carbonation provide the perfect balance of flavors and help prepare you for another sip of whiskey.
Genesee Cream Ale is a good one here. I like something just good enough to drink on its own, without fighting with the bourbon. A fresh Genesee is pretty tasty, and it won’t distract from the wonderful flavors of a good bourbon.
Tasting Notes:
Gently creamy and sweet with notes of cereal grains, corn, light malts, and gentle hops, it’s a great beer to pair with your whiskey of choice.

Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale. Instead of a stout like many barrel-aged beers, this is an Irish red ale that’s rested in decanted bourbon barrels for a minimum of six weeks. This results in a complex ale with notes of vanilla, oak, caramel, and sweet bourbon.
Tasting Notes:
The oak flavor imparted through the aging process really creates a smooth and well-balanced flavor profile that pairs well with good bourbon.
Some parenting questions are simply universal, transcending the normal alienating barriers. And whether or not to hold onto certain mementos is one of them.
Whether it’s more noble to let childhood awards, artwork, quizzes and certificates stack up in storage boxes for years, to be opened for a nostalgic romp down memory lane at a later time, or simply let them go in the name of decluttering? Or is the answer somewhere in between?
This is the conundrum nearly every parent faces. Even celebrity ones, apparently.
“Guardians of the Galaxy” star Chris Pratt recently found himself wondering this very thing as he watched his wife Katherine Schwarzenegger going through her personal treasure trove of trophies from her own childhood.
The collection, curated by her mother Maria Shriver, included notable achievements like “most improved 2-year-old” in swim class to “Problem-solving super star” in the fourth grade.
On his Instagram post, Pratt noted how “thoughtful” he thought the gesture was, writing, “to see my darling wife beaming with sentiment as she opens these crates of meticulously organized keepsakes, remembering her cherished youth, makes me grateful for the efforts her folks put into archiving.”
“I suppose that’s the payoff for the work it took to store this stuff, the smile on her face as she relives moments of her youth. To pray one day that your children will look back on their childhood with glee is a blessing. It is the hope of parenthood,” he reflected.
But regardless of the warm-and-fuzzies felt by watching his wife reminisce, Pratt still wasn’t entirely sure what his stance was, so he posed a question to his fans.
“Real talk… once your kid goes through the stuff, is it okay to toss?” he wrote, adding, “I mean… do we need the ‘I was on a sports team trophy?’ Can they be donated? Repurposed?” Pratt also asked. “How many do we gotta keep? Not all of them right? Any of them? Is there a grading scale? Like, did you win? Were you a champion? Is there a specific sentimental connection? Help me out here. Do they go back in storage?”
His question received countless answers. But most parents seemed to lean towards the time honored tradition of holding on to as much as possible, then hocking it over their children to sort when they’re adults.
As one person hilariously advised, “ “Do as it’s always been done. Pack them back up and let your children deal with it when you move to an assisted living facility.”
However, some did offer alternative options, like donating old trophies to organizations, or even taking photos of the items to digitally reminisce. One person suggested “I feel that once we’re old enough to share them with our own children and tell the stories behind them, perhaps that’s the time to digitally archive the items and the tales behind them.” Another added that “looking at an object in a photo still brings back the memory without having to hold onto the actual object.”
“You are allowed to keep everything you want to keep. That’s right. There’s no reason why you have to get rid of — or keep — anything belonging to your children,” she writes, and suggests that parents find creative ways to showcase those memories rather than putting them in storage, such as filling scrapbooks and decorating hallways.
What seems to be the moral of the story is that it’s completely up to individual preference. And that there are many ways to hold onto precious keepsakes. Oh, and that if you’re a parent dealing with this particular quandary, you are certainly not alone.
Spooky season can be a fun time of year for people. There are folks that wait all year for the official start of fall just to decorate for Halloween. Costumes are bought in advance and bags of candy are purchased and stored, but not everyone buys their costume. Some spooky season lovers get really creative with their Halloween costumes out of household items.
There are some homemade costumes that are so funny and realistic that you have to do a double take. Two sisters are going viral for their ultra realistic roller coaster costume made out of cardboard and foam noodles. But it’s not just their costumes that are stealing the attention of millions, it’s their acting skills.
In the video uploaded to TikTok by Laurie Dabbs-Gayton, the sisters stand side-by-side, though it looks like their sitting. They begin to shake and jostle as if they’re on a track before screaming like they’ve just rounded a bend or flew down a hill quickly.
The pair is in total sync with each other adding to the realistic vibe of their costume for their employer’s costume party. It was so convincing that people watching the video were confused at first thinking it was a coin operated ride. Commenters didn’t realize it was a costume until the women stood up fully.
“I thought it was a mini roller coaster,” one person writes followed by multiple rolling crying laughing emojis.
“Took my brain a few extra seconds to process what my eyes were seeing,” a commenter says.
“I thought for a second it was like the pony ride machines outside a grocery store,” someone admits.
“It took me far longer to figure out than it should have,” one woman writes.

Heidi Klum is the undisputed champ when it comes to wildly elaborate Halloween costumes. Naturally, people are curious to see what Klum will roll out for this year’s costume even though it’s going to be hard to top her now infamous worm costume. Last month, the supermodel teased that her 2023 outfit would be “really extra” and she’s had “sleepless nights” just thinking about it.
With Halloween night just a few hours away, Klum has finally offered fans a sneak peak at this year’s costume, and well, your guess is as good as ours here. She teased the outfit on both her Instagram and an Amazon Live appearance, but she has yet to reveal the full ensemble.
According to costume designer Bill Corso, who works with Klum every year on her show-stopping outfit for her annual Halloween party, there was a lot of pressure this year after the worm. He also revealed that the final form is still a work in a process as of this writing.
He works on details up until the last moment the Project Runway host steps out for her party.
“I’m very excited to reveal it,” Klum said, adding that the pressure to outdo herself every year is “huge.” The only tease she offered was that her husband, Tom Kaulitz, has a costume that goes with hers — and that he needed some “glitz and glam” before the Halloween night bash.
As for anyone trying to guess Klum’s costume, Corso only had two words: “Good luck.”

However, from personal experience, pickup is usually easier if you walk down to the Convention Center and then request, as the white zones can get a little crowded. Alternatively, you can walk a couple of blocks in pretty much any direction and reliably catch an Uber or Lyft out of downtown.
Meanwhile, there’s also the Metro, with a rail station letting out just across the street from Crypto/Staples on Pico Blvd. The Crypto website still refers to the Metro lines by their old color designations, but recently, Metro has decided to rename each rail line with a letter, so the Blue Line is now A Line, the Red Line is B, the Green Line is C, the Purple Line is D, the Expo line is now E, the Orange Line is F, and the Silver Line is G.
