The Commanders Finally Stopped The Brotherly Shove Forcing A Jalen Hurts Fumble At The Goal Line

One of the leading topics of conversation in the NFL this season has been about the Philadelphia Eagles’ quarterback sneak, dubbed the Brotherly Shove/Tush Push, and whether the league should do anything about it.

The Eagles, of course, have been wildly successful with the play, running behind their terrific offensive line and taking advantage of Jalen Hurts’ power as a runner. Other teams haven’t had the same level of success with the shove push, and there have been some injuries on the play that figure to get looked at by the NFL. The Eagles and their fans, unsurprisingly, don’t want to see their nearly unstoppable play get outlawed, and have noted that if it were truly unfair then every team would have their same level of success with it and teams should just do a better job against it.

On Sunday, against the Washington Commanders, they finally got taken up on that challenge by the stout Washington defensive front, which stoned the QB sneak at the goal line, resulting in a fumble after Hurts ran the ball into the back of Jason Kelce and dropped it after his momentum was halted.

Part of what makes the play so hard to deal with on the goal line is, even if you stop it once, they’re going to get another crack at it if it’s just held up. However, in this case, Washington’s surge to keep Kelce from moving forward resulted in all kinds of things going wrong on the play for Philly, as the ball popped out as Hurts tried to push forward with it and the Commanders were able to get on it for a rare turnover on the play to briefly preserve a 7-point lead — the Eagles would get a game-tying touchdown via A.J. Brown on their next possession.

Miley Cyrus Still Hasn’t Collaborated With Billie Eilish, But It Is Certainly On The Singer’s Wish List

On Sunday, October 28, during an interview with Mirror, Miley Cyrus shared her admiration for a fellow entertainer, Billie Eilish. It’s not the first time Cyrus has showered the “What Was I Made For” singer with compliments, but she did double down on her hope to collaborate with her in the future.

“I absolutely love Billie Eilish,” said Cyrus. “She’s one of the coolest artists out there at the moment.”

She continued, “What impressed me so much is that she is already an authentic artist. She knows exactly the story she wants to tell and exactly the message she wants to express in her work. I’m in total awe of her. When I was her age, I didn’t know who I was as an artist and was still being heavily influenced by others. But she knows exactly who she is, and it is just so impressive.”

During a sit-down with British Vogue in June 2021, Cyrus first planted the seed. When asked if there was anyone left for her to collaborate with, she said, “There are always new emerging artists that are super interesting. I love Billie Eilish. I think she’s just the coolest. I love her, her messaging. I’d love to work with her.”

Billie Eilish hasn’t responded to the call-out yet.

A comic that debunks myths about asexuality

Asexuality is often misunderstood.

In general, it’s believed to be the absence of any romantic interest, but asexual identity actually means that a person is not sexually attracted to anyone. Romantic feelings and the strength of those feelings can vary from person to person.

Currently, about 1% of adults have no interest in sex, though some experts believe that number could be higher. For a long time, information on asexuality was limited, but researchers recently have found information that gives us more knowledge about asexuality.

Being asexual can be tough, though — just ask the artists from Empathize This.

To demonstrate, they put together a comic on asexuality, defining it as a sexual orientation, not a dysfunction:

Nate Bargatze Talked The Shock Of Hosting ‘SNL,’ Being Freaked Out By The Future, And Never Reading Books In His Opening Monologue

Despite being a rock star stand-up comic who sells out giant auditoriums and has hit specials on Amazon Prime, Nate Bargatze was a little nervous about hosting SNL, which he did alongside The Foo Fighters. It was his first time, sure, but he also joked before the show aired that he wasn’t “famous enough.” If he was nervous, it didn’t seem like it. During his lengthy opening monologue, he was his laid-back, mildly self-deprecating self. Still he couldn’t help but be taken aback.

“It’s crazy,” Bargatze said as he started his opener. “I mean, look, if you’re at home, I’m as shocked as you are that I’m here. I’ve come to this building for a long time. And so it’s unreal to be here.”

Bargatze then reflected on being old. (He’s 44.) He told the crowd that he’s “from the 1900s,” and that the world, to someone born in the 1970s, is “so future now. And I feel in the way of it.” He pointed out that his daughter’s 11, and that “when she’s my age, it will be 2057. I don’t even believe that’s a real year. My movie’s didn’t go that high in fake years.

“How am I going to be able to talk to someone from 2057,” he continued. “I have more in common with a pilgrim. I saw too much old-timey stuff. I’m pre-internet.”

Later in his monologue, Bargatze admitted that he’s “already not smart,” which doesn’t bode well for his future.

“I’m in my prime right now. I don’t read read any books. I don’t do it. And I think and I think that matters. I do think that matters. Reading I believe is the key to smart. That’s what I’ve always said,” Bargatze said. “And I don’t do it because every book is just the most words. It doesn’t let up. I mean, every page is more work. It’s like what are you talking about? Put some blank pages in there. Let me get my head above water for two seconds.”

Bargatze also confessed that he “doesn’t know anything” about history. “And I can tell I don’t know anything about history because every history movie I watch I watch on the edge of my seat — just like, ‘What is going to happen?’ I don’t know. I watched the movie Pearl Harbor and I was as surprised as they were.”

Rick Ross Subtly Hinted That An MMG Reunion With Meek Mill & Wale Could Be On The Horizon

Rick Ross and Meek Mill’s joint album Too Good To Be True is coming soon, and not long after the pair dropped their dominating lead single, “Shaq & Kobe.” But already the two are suggesting that their forthcoming musical link isn’t a one-and-done arrangement.

On Thursday, October 27, during an appearance on The Morning Hustle, Ross subtly hinted that an MMG (Maybach Music Group) reunion could be on the horizon. Co-host Lore’l asked the burning question most rap fans want to know, “Where is Wale?” Although Wale recently unveiled his new single, “Max Julien,” fans were curious if he was included in Ross and Meek’s upcoming album.

Ross cleared that up, saying, “Wale is actually working on his [own] project. He’s doing his thing. He’s over at Def Jam Records.”

Ross later teased that a future collaboration could be in the near future. “It’s a good chance. You know how we get down,” he said. While it’s unclear if an entire album, similar to their 2011 Self Made Vol. 1, will come from this confession, it’s exciting to know that the trio will lock into a studio soon.

Later in the conversation, Ross was asked why he hadn’t recorded a collaborative album with Meek in the past. “This was the right time,” he replied. “We’re both solo artists and both doing our thing. I’m building MMG, and he’s building Dream Chasers [Records]. I felt like this was the right time. You know what I mean, it just came together. So we spent a little time together, and we got into the studio. Sh*t just came together too easily; it just flowed.”

Too Good To Be True is out 11/10 via Maybach Music Group / Gamma. Find more information here.

The Best Reposado Tequilas To Sip This Fall, According To Bartenders

For those new to the Mexican, agave-based spirit, tequila bottles feature different terms to explain how long they’ve been aged instead of using numbers like whiskey. They are blanco, reposado, añejo, and extra añejo, as well as a few other lesser-known terms. While we could spend all day explaining the intricacies of each, today is reposado’s time to shine.

Reposado, which means “restful” in Spanish, is a tequila that’s matured between two and twelve months. It’s known for its young, but complex flavor profile featuring roasted agave, vanilla, toffee, and oaky wood notes, among other flavors. It’s delicate, flavorful, and well-suited for fall mixing and sipping.

Instead of making you blindly pick bottles of reposado to try this fall, we asked for a little bit of help from our friendly neighborhood barkeeps. We polled a handful of well-known bartenders to tell us the best reposado tequilas to drink this fall. Keep scrolling to see all of their agave-fueled, vanilla, and caramel-filled picks.

Arette Reposado

Arette Reposado
Arette

Corey Hayes, general manager and beverage director at Gala & Muse Bar in Miami

ABV: 40%

Average Price: $60

The Tequila:

Arette Reposado is my pick for fall drinkers for sure. Similar to the Fortaleza, this is an authentic tequila drinker’s tequila. Drinking this on the rocks will warm you right up.

Tasting Notes:

It’s very mild earthy and the spice notes will knock the socks off any authentic tequila drinker. It’s complex, warming tequila for the chilly fall days.

Siete Leguas Reposado

Siete Leguas Reposado
Siete Leguas

Oscar Aranda, head bartender at Acre Resort in San José del Cabo, Mexico

ABV: 40%

Average Price: $70

The Tequila:

Siete Leguas Reposado is my go-to in the fall. This is the Tequila I drink so I speak from my own experience and not hearsay. Siete Leguas is the best reposado tequila and one that I highly recommend since its flavor is also legitimate and does not contain additives.

Tasting Notes:

It’s quite easy to sip, sweet with a nice oak flavor from the time it spent in the wooden barrel, and a nice light late burn that makes it incredibly good. This is a very clean-tasting pour, rich in toasted agave, with hints of oak, vanilla, and caramel and a touch of black pepper and cinnamon.

La Gritona Reposado

La Gritona Reposado
La Gritona

Vlad Novikov, general manager at Silver Lyan in Washington, DC

ABV: 40%

Average Price: $38

The Tequila:

La Gritona Reposado is lovely. A big reason: reposado is all they do. Plus, they’re a women-owned and operated small business in the highlands of Valle de Guadalupe, Jalisco, Mexico that’s distilled to high standards.

Tasting Notes:

Rested for eight months before bottling, the result is a smooth tequila with notes of vanilla, oak, and roasted agave, and a rounded finish that’s easy to sip.

Cimarron Reposado

Cimarron Reposado
Cimarron

Alex Barbatsis, bar director at The Whistler in Chicago

ABV: 40%

Average Price: $30

The Tequila:

Reposado tequila has so much versatility and works well as something to sip by itself or mix in a cocktail. Cimarron Reposado Tequila is as good as you can get for its dollar value.

Tasting Notes:

Aged in American white oak barrels and containing no additives, Cimarron Reposado is a great full-flavored Tequila you can enjoy neat or mixed in a margarita. Vegetal sweetness, vanilla, and gentle spices make it a must-try tequila.

Fortaleza Reposado

Fortaleza Reposado
Fortaleza

Federico Doldi, food and beverage director at Gansevoort Meatpacking in New York City

ABV: 40%

Average Price: $58

The Tequila:

Fortaleza is a fantastic tequila maker that keeps to a long-used distilling tradition in their recipe. The result is a spirit holding notes of earth and molasses. Fortaleza Reposado has its own distinct character. It’s unlike any other tequila I’ve had.

Tasting Notes:

Aged for eight months in American oak, this tequila has notes of vanilla, apple, and cinnamon. It’s delightful. Aromas of citrus, caramel, butter, cooked agave, and sage are the beginning of a pleasingly balanced and unique tasting experience.

Casa Noble Reposado

Casa Noble Reposado
Casa Noble

Tsuru Goto, food and beverage manager at Society Cafe in New York City

ABV: 40%

Average Price: $50

The Tequila:

Casa Noble Reposado is a great fall sipper. We also love to use it in our riff on an old-fashioned, in which we use both tequila and rye as the base.

Tasting Notes:

It has nice notes of pumpkin, cinnamon, toffee, and caramels that we often associate with fall but balances them out with more subtle notes of vanilla, lemongrass, and even some citrus and floral notes.

G4 Reposado

G4 Reposado
G4

David Ortiz, corporate beverage director at Rocco’s Tacos and Tequila Bar in Miami

ABV: 40%

Average Price: $49

The Tequila:

The best sipping reposado on the market is G4 Reposado. This is not an afterthought tequila, meaning it’s produced in the artisanal manor G4 Tequila Reposado (Distillery: Destileria El Pandillo, NOM 1579 from the regions of Southern Los Altos, Jalisco, Mexico).

Tasting Notes:

It has notes of cooked agave, olive oil, green pepper, orange and lemon peels, vanilla, oak, and herbaceous mint.

El Tesoro Reposado

El Tesoro Reposado
El Tesoro

Aleksander Simic, bartender at Hutong in Miami

ABV: 40%

Average Price: $55

The Tequila:

El Tesoro Reposado is an excellent tequila for fall sipping. It’s filled with aromas and flavors that make it great for cooler weather, as they evoke the feeling of comfort and warmth.

Tasting Notes:

This outstanding reposado tequila offers a balance of agave sweetness and oak notes with a hint of spice. It’s warming and well-suited for fall sipping.

Don Julio Reposado

Don Julio Reposado
Don Julio

Dennis Baby, head bartender at Kagi Maldives Resort & Spa in Maldives

ABV: 40%

Average Price: $49

The Tequila:

Don Julio Reposado is my favorite reposado tequila for the fall. This is a well-rested tequila. A grapefruit flavor can enhance the flavors and lift it up while you are making a cocktail. Paloma is the best example of this.

Tasting Notes:

It’s an exceptional expression that has caramel, vanilla, and oak flavors with a hint of agave. It’s great for slow sipping or mixing.

Teremana Reposado

Teremana Reposado
Teremana

Resa Mueller, bartender at R&D Philly in Philadelphia

ABV: 40%

Average Price: $33

The Tequila:

In reposado tequilas, I specifically look for the perfect balance between wood and agave. For me, it’s the Goldilocks of agave expressions. Teremana reposado is a standout example of this. It’s great as a neat sipper and is a perfect addition to a spiced cider for peak-level fall festivities.

Tasting Notes:

It’s clean and brightly expressive of the agave, exhibiting the citrus and pepper notes characteristic of the brand, while at the same time allowing some delicate notes of caramelized sugar and toasted oak to make the age statement sing.

Curamia Reposado

Curamia Reposado
Curamia

Dana Lachenmayer, head bartender at The Wesley in New York City

ABV: 40%

Average Price: $48

The Tequila:

A recent crowd-pleaser on our shelf at The Wesley is Curamia Reposado tequila. Curamia is a collaboration between female power duo Dafna Mizrahi, winner of ‘Chopped,’ and Melissa Del Savio, a former bartender and industry insider.

Tasting Notes:

Nutrient-rich water and volcanic soil aid in the making of this very elegant, aged tequila, with notes of baked apple, banana, cacao, and baking spice balanced on every sip.

El Tequileño Reposado

El Tequileño Reposado
El Tequileño

Norbert Cruz, lead bartender at Bodega Taqueria y Tequila in Miami

ABV: 40%

Average Price: $30

The Tequila:

El Tequileño Reposado offers an exceptional sipping experience, particularly well-suited for the fall season. For those seeking a versatile option, incorporating it into a classic cocktail like an old-fashioned fashioned further showcases its versatility and quality.

Tasting Notes:

Its aromatic profile is characterized by delightful notes of cooked agave and apple on the nose. Upon tasting, one can discern subtle hints of apple, mild oak, and a touch of vanilla, complemented by nuanced spices like cinnamon and allspice. Each sip of this reposado elicits a comforting warmth that aligns perfectly with the cozy ambiance of a brisk fall evening.

‘He Was A True Gift To Us All’: People Paid Tribute To The Late Matthew Perry After His Sudden Passing

On Saturday, Matthew Perry, the beloved actor best known for playing sarcastic Chandler Bing on Friends, was found dead at his Los Angeles home. He was 54. The cause of death has currently not been public, but his sudden passing left the world shocked. Tributes soon poured in, from friends and fans alike.

“We are devastated to learn of Matthew Perry’s passing. He was a true gift to us all,” wrote the official Friends account on X. “Our heart goes out to his family, loved ones, and all of his fans.”

“What a loss,” wrote Maggie Wheeler, who spent 19 episodes over the show’s run as his squeaky-voiced, on-again-off-again girlfriend Janice. “The world will miss you Mathew Perry . The joy you brought to so many in your too short lifetime will live on. I feel so very blessed by every creative moment we shared.”

Paget Brewster played another Chandler love interest. She was Kathy, a woman seeing Joey (Matt LeBlanc), but who wound up having a closer bond with Chandler, jeopardizing their friendship. “I’m so very sad to hear about @MatthewPerry,” Brewster wrote. “He was lovely to me on Friends and every time I saw him in the decades after. Please read his book. It was his legacy to help. He won’t rest in peace though.. He’s already too busy making everyone laugh up there.”

“I’m heartbroken about the untimely death of my ‘son’, Matthew Perry,” posted Morgan Fairchild, who played Chandler’s mom. “The loss of such a brilliant young actor is a shock. I’m sending love & condolences to his friends & family, especially his dad, John Bennett Perry, who I worked with on Flamingo Road & Falcon Crest.”

Selma Blair, who appeared on a 2002 episode of Friends, called Perry her “oldest boyfriend,” writing, “All of us loved Matthew Perry, and I did especially. Every day. I loved him unconditionally. And he me. And I’m broken. Broken hearted. Sweet dreams Matty. Sweet dreams.”

Perry spent a large chunk of his life battling addiction issues. He wrote about his struggles, including several stints in rehab, in his memoir, which came out last year. Mira Sorvino, who acted with him in the TV movie Parallel Lives, called him a “sweet, troubled soul,” adding, “May you find peace and happiness in Heaven, making everyone laugh with your singular wit!!!”

https://twitter.com/MiraSorvino/status/1718432206677540958

Another actress who knew him was Meredith Salenger, who acted alongside him in A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon. “Matthew and I have known each other since [we] were 16 years old. Oh man. No words,” she wrote on X. She also posted various pictures of the two, including one on a recent picket line.

Yvette Nicole Brown, who appeared with Perry in the remake of The Odd Couple, wrote, “54 is too young to go,” adding, “We love you, Matty!”

Another Odd Couple alum, Wendell Pierce, posted, “Damn. For 2 years Matthew Perry was my boss, my colleague, and a giving, kind, funny man. I pray and hope he is at peace.”

“We were a gang way back,” posted longtime friend Shannen Doherty on Instagram. “We all grew up together going to the Formosa, North and constantly laughing. Matt, Roger, David, Roxana. We played dare and Matt had to say ridiculous things to girls at the bar. We just always had fun and supported each other. You would always find us all together in a booth speaking in our own made up language. And yes, Matt always had THAT sense of humor. Matt and I had a date and it was on.”

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also paid tribute to Perry, whom he knew growing up. “Matthew Perry’s passing is shocking and saddening,” Trudeau wrote. “I’ll never forget the schoolyard games we used to play, and I know people around the world are never going to forget the joy he brought them. Thanks for all the laughs, Matthew. You were loved – and you will be missed.”

Adele also paid tribute to Perry during a performance on Saturday, saying that Chandler was “a really big part of my life” and calling him “the best comedic character of all time.” The singer also praised him for being “so open with his struggles with addiction and sobriety, which I think is incredibly brave.”

After news of his passing broke, Friends fans appeared outside of the West Village apartment building which served as the exterior shots for the show.

There are countless tributes to Perry, too many to amass here — a testament to his gift as a performer and his attempts to use his suffering to help others by talking about it so openly. Let’s leave with his final line on the final episode of Friends, which happens to be the final line uttered on the show.

Adele Paid Tribute To The Late Matthew Perry With A Heartfelt Speech During Her Recent Las Vegas Residency Show

On Saturday, October 28, the public was gutted to learn that Friends actor Matthew Perry died at the age of 54. Former co-stars and fans of Perry flooded social media to share touching tributes. During her latest performance, Adele did so, too, honoring him with a heartfelt speech in front of her sold-out Weekends With Adele Las Vegas residency crowd.

Adele applauded Perry for being open about his addiction issues. She also said her love for Perry’s work dates back to her pre-teen years, calling his beloved character “probably the best comedic character of all time.”

Read Adele’s full speech below.

It’s always quite shocking when, especially, someone that made you laugh, who brought so much joy to your life that you don’t know. This is what I find so strange. I’ve never met [Matthew Perry] in my life. It’s happened with a few other comedians and stuff like that. But there’s something so… that you feel so sad about it. Especially because you don’t necessarily know what was going on. Some of my favorite memories of when I was younger with my friends and one of my friends, Andrew, when I was like 12, did the best Chandler impression. And he would do it all the time to make up laugh. And if any of us were having a bad day or feeling low, he would just pretend to be Chandler. And I remember that character for the rest of my life. I remember visiting New York for the first time, and I’d go on a ‘Friends’ tour. It’s been a really big part of my life. [Matthew] was so open with his struggles with addiction and sobriety, which I think is incredibly brave. I just wanna say how much I love what did he for us. Especially what he did for me. Probably the best comedic character of all time, now, he can rest in peace.

‘SNL’ Weekend Update’s Colin Jost Seems Pretty Sure New GOP House Speaker Mike Johnson Is AI: ‘No Way’ He’s A ‘Real Person’

It took three weeks of pure, weird chaos, but House Republicans finally found a replacement for ousted Speaker Kevin McCarthy. His name is Mike Johnson. Who on earth is Mike Johnson? Nobody seems to know, but despite his generic name and bland mien, he has some pretty out-there views. On the latest SNL, Weekend Update hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che couldn’t get past how Stepford he seemed.

“After weeks of struggling to elect a new Speaker of the House, Republicans gave up and just generated one with AI,” Jost told viewers. “There’s no way Mike Johnson is a real person. He’s supposed to be a conservative Republican yet he looks like every MSNBC host combined.”

Jost also speculated on how Johnson scored his new gig, saying, “I feel like the way Mike Johnson got elected is that after weeks of voting, Republicans got bored and all wrote in the same fake name and then they were like, ‘Wait, that’s a real guy?’”

Che then focused on some of Johnson’s out-dated beliefs, saying he’s “been called homophobic for supporting anti-LGBTQ legislation and saying homosexuality is bizarre and deviant.” Che then added, “Which are two fantastic gay clubs on the West Side, by the way.”

Che and Jost also cracked wise about Trump finally giving testimony in court, on his former veep, Mike Pence, ended his spluttering presidential campaign, and on Mitch McConnell claiming he’s “completely recovered” after multiple bouts of freezing up in public. Said Jost, “Suspiciously he made the comments while being held up by two guys in beach wear,” prompting a Photoshopped image from Weekend at Bernie’s.

Christopher Walken Joined Mikey Day’s Biden To Ring In Halloween And Drag New House Speaker Mike Johnson In ‘SNL’ Cold Open

Since joining SNL in 2021, James Austin Johnson hasn’t only done a top shelf Donald Trump. He’s done a very good Joe Biden as well. He captures the current president’s endearing aloofness quite well, as though everything is a surprise. Alas, barring some miracle, it looks like the 2024 election will be a rematch between he and the guy he crushed spectacularly. So for the third episode of the new season, SNL opened with a new Joe.

That would be Mikey Day, who leans hard into Biden’s age. In the Cold Open, he gave a Halloween address to the citizenry, while acknowledging that real world is a lot more terrifying right now than any seasonal dress-up.

“The world is a pretty scary place right now,” said Day’s Biden. “Wars, shooting, climate change, everything in the new Britney book.” Thankfully, he had a temporary solution. “Nothing puts people at ease like an 80-year-old man hanging Halloween decorations.”

Biden entertained a couple guests. One was Mike Johnson, the generically named — but possibly dangerous — new Speaker of the House. Played by featured player Michael Longfellow, Johnson is portrayed as a benign nerd with a shady air about him. The SNL writers ribbed him over one of the more bizarre aspects of his private life: the fact that he has an adult Black son, also named Michael.

“It’s normal, don’t look into that at all,” said the other Michael, played by featured player Devon Walker.

Eventually Biden was visited by “The Spirit of Halloween, the Ghost of All Hallows’ Past,” played by SNL fave Christopher Walken. The beloved actor has been hosting or simply making guest spots on the show since 1990, and this time he serenaded the president with a recitation of “Trick or Treat, Smell My Feet,” which concluded with him telling Biden he’d “pull down your underwear.”

You can watch the SNL Cold Open in the video above.
