Lil Yachty Gets In Touch With His Spirit In His New ‘Solo Steppin’ Crete Boy’ Video

Back in January, rapper Lil Yachty released his album Let’s Start Here. Let’s Start Here marked a shift in artistic direction for Yachty, as he tapped into more rock-and-psychedelic-influenced sounds. But today (August 9), Yachty has shared a new single, “Solo Steppin Crete Boy,” which seems to mark a return to his melodic rap sounds.

On “Solo Steppin Crete Boy,” Yachty delivers rapid-fire bars over a smooth, downtempo beat.

“Anywhere, everywhere, he don’t give a damn / Empty the clip, reload the clip, we call it sleight of hand / My memory bad, so I’m f*ckin’ baby on cam’ / Bottega coat, I copped, R.I.P to couple M’s,” he raps.

In the song’s accompanying visual, Yachty is wrapped up in an American flag and later seen vibing outside of a Buddhist monastery.

This summer has been quite eventful for Lil Yachty. Over the summer, he met singer Pinkpantheress, who thanked him for supporting her from the beginning of her music career. He also performed his viral hit, “Poland” six times in a row, in Poland.

Currently, Yachty is gearing up for his Field Trip Tour, which kicks off next month.

In the meantime, you can see the “Solo Steppin’ Crete Boy” video above.

Offset Has Reportedly Settled And Dropped His Lawsuit Against His Former Label, Quality Control Music

It seems Offset’s legal battle with his formal label, Quality Control Music, has come to a close after he decided to drop the lawsuit and reached a settlement with them, according to TMZ.

The rapper had first filed to sue the company in August of 2022, citing that the label was allegedly trying to control his rights to own and the ability to make more solo music outside of Migos and not honoring their past agreements. Specifically, he referred to a deal made in January 2021 that was negotiated, then ignored.

“Not only are the accusations in this lawsuit false, they are totally detached from reality,” Quality Control released in a statement previously. “Offset remains a part of QC. Back to business.”

Earlier this year, the label’s owners also claimed that Offset’s solo music was owned by them and past agreements were invalidated because he spoke out about it online, according to HipHopDX.

But Offset’s lawyer has pushed against this, claiming, “Quality Control no longer owns the copyright to Offset’s solo sound recordings and is no longer licensing Offset’s solo sound recordings to Capitol, and Capitol has acquired ownership of Offset’s solo sound recordings directly from Offset.”

Because of this, although the lawsuit between Offset and Quality Control has been settled, he will not be releasing his future solo music through them.

Megan Fox Was Inspired By The ‘Secrets Of Men’ And The ‘Weight Of Their Sins’ In Her ‘Wicked’ New Book Of Poetry

Megan Fox leads an eventful life these days. You can find her, at any given moment, hanging out in a bikini atop a tree limb or following Eminem on Instagram while on a break from Machine Gun Kelly. She and MKG actually do seem to be in an “alright” phase at the moment, at least judging from the Instagram comments of the Expend4bles star‘s latest post.

MGK did give some face time to that post, which reveals that she penned a book of poetry called Pretty Boys Are Poisonous with a November release date. On Instagram, Fox alluded to how these poems helped her deal with the fallout of holding onto “secrets of men” throughout her life:

“These poems were written in an attempt to excise the illness that had taken root in me because of my silence. I’ve spent my entire life keeping the secrets of men, my body aches from carrying the weight of their sins. My freedom lives in these pages, and I hope that my words can inspire others to take back their happiness and their identity by using their voice to illuminate what’s been buried, but not forgotten, in the darkness.”

The book arrives with this provocative, snakey cover:

One wonders if Megan is simply referring to the “weight of their sins” within her romantic relationships, or if this will dive into any professional dustups that she’s had over the years. She was, of course, wed to Brian Austin Green for over a decade, and her current relationship with MTG seems tumultuous at times. Whatever the case, he doesn’t seem worried, given that he left a “proud of you” comment on Instagram.

Additionally, Fox’s book promises to (via CNN) “show fans her wicked humor through a heartbreaking and dark collection of poetry. Over the course of 80+ poems Fox chronicles all the ways in which we fit ourselves into the shape of the ones we love, even if it means losing ourselves in the process.”

Pretty Boys Are Poisonous will arrive in book stores on November 7.

Josh Hart Agreed To A 4-Year, $81 Million Extension With The Knicks

Josh Hart was among the most impactful in-season acquisitions by any team last season, as the Knicks dealt Cam Reddish to Portland for the former Villanova star, who became a key rotation piece as New York reached the second round of the playoffs.

Hart’s two-way abilities on the wing were on display for the Knicks, as he provided defensive versatility on guards and wings, while being an excellent rebounder and off-ball cutter and shooter (albeit a reluctant one) on offense in his 25 games in New York. In the postseason, Hart averaged 10.4 points and 7.4 rebounds per game in New York’s 11 contests, proving his game more than translates to the playoffs. After deciding to pick up his player option for the 2023-24 campaign, all signs pointed to Hart and New York agreeing to a contract extension that would keep him around in the long-term.

That ended up finally happening on Wednesday, the first day that Hart was eligible to agree to a new deal with the Knicks. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Hart put pen to paper on a 4-year extension worth $81 million that will run through 2027-28.

It was notable that Hart was the only Team USA player who did not participate in their exhibition earlier this week against the Puerto Rico, but as Wojnarowski noted, the expectation is he’ll be a full go once everything is sorted out.

The last few summers have been quite busy for the Knicks when it comes to locking up talent from Villanova. Last year, the team agreed to a deal with Jalen Brunson, and this time around, New York extended Hart and signed Donte DiVincenzo in free agency.

The Most Underrated Breweries in America, According To Craft Beer Experts

While we can’t speak for the rest of the world, it seems like the United States is figuratively drenched in beer. What we mean is there are more than 9,000 breweries currently operating all over the country from Palo Alto to Portland (Maine). With this type of saturation, it should come as no surprise that not all of them are worth your time. But luckily there are a lot of breweries that are. And we aren’t just talking about the giant, famous, and award-winning breweries either.

In that massive number, there are countless underrated breweries that don’t get the praise some of their counterparts receive. These high-quality bastions of brewing fly under the radar. We think that absolutely stinks, so we decided to do something about it. We’re going to find them and let you in on their brewing majesty.

But we couldn’t do it alone. To find these underappreciated breweries, we reached out to craft beer experts again for some advice. We asked them to tell us their picks for the most underrated breweries in America. Take some notes, because if the folks who spend their days brewing beer think these breweries are underrated, you should definitely seek them out immediately.

Farm Club – Traverse City, Michigan

Glenn Alenn, Head Brewer at Pilot Project Brewing in Chicago

Farm Club in Traverse City, Michigan is a great small brewery from my hometown. Being that far up in Northern Michigan you don’t hear enough about them, but they consistently put out solid unpretentious beers that you can enjoy around their outdoor fire pit. The beautiful scenery of the area also doesn’t hurt the situation.

What To Drink:

Known for its lagers, IPAs, and rustic farmhouse ales (hence the name), we suggest starting with its flagship Farm Club Farmhouse Ale. This 5% ABV Bière de Garde is known for its slightly funky, bready, fruity, very refreshing flavor.

Moonlight Brewing – Santa Rosa, California

Bryan Donaldson, Brewing Innovation Manager at Lagunitas Brewing Company in Petaluma, California

Moonlight Brewing in my town of Santa Rosa is a must-visit if you are in the area. I am not so sure this brewery is underrated but more so under-known. Those of us in the know all value it for the great, interesting, and diverse beer they are putting out. While most come for some of the more well-known breweries, no one has ever been disappointed after visiting Moonlight. From crisp pilsners to delicious dark lagers to beers flavored with local redwood tips, you will find something for everyone (even hopheads).

What To Drink:

Death & Taxes is a San Francisco-style black lager that’s equal parts bold and robust and light and refreshing.

The Wailuku Brew Works – Keaau, Hawaii

The Wailuku Brew Works

Fal Allen, brewmaster at Anderson Valley Brewing Co. in Boonville, California

The Wailuku Brew Works in Keaau, Hawai’i is only underrated because it just opened. Situated in the Shipman Industrial Park between Hilo and “Downtown” Keaau, they may lack the view factor that some of Hawai’i’s other destinations have. But what they lack in an exterior view they make up for with a beautiful little taproom, and their beers are delicious and inventive. Despite being only a few months old they have a wide range of beers from traditional to hazy fruited to sour and even some mead. There are a few non-alcoholic sodas in the lineup to come. If you are on the Big Island of Hawai’i, don’t miss this still pretty unknown gem.

What To Drink:

Niu Nui Porter is a rich, dark, robust taste of Hawaii in beer form. It’s known for its creamy mouthfeel, rich dark chocolate, coffee, and sweet coconut flavors. Why wouldn’t you want to drink a sweet and malty porter in a tropical paradise?

Zero Gravity Craft Brewery – Burlington, Vermont

Joe Mashburn, head brewer at Night Shift Brewing in Boston

An underrated brewery that beer drinkers should visit is Zero Gravity in Vermont. I think a lot of people talk about Vermont beer and use it to refer to two or three brewers. I think Zero Gravity is a wonderful example of quality and variety that comes out of Vermont but isn’t talked about enough.

What To Drink:

No trip to Vermont’s Zero Gravity is complete without a pint of two of its flagship Conehead IPA. Brewed with Citra hops, pilsner malts, and American wheat. It’s a hazy, juicy, hoppy, piney, citrus bomb that you won’t soon forget.

Berkley Beer – Taunton, Massachusetts

Berkley Beer

Matthew Steinberg, co-founder and Head Brewer of Exhibit ‘A’ Brewing Company in Framingham, Massachusetts

Berkley Beer in Taunton, Massachusetts. They brew excellent beers and are fairly under the radar. The most exciting things about this place are the people and the care they put into the beers, the food, and, most importantly, the experience. There are always 8-10 beers on draft and several gluten-free options too with their impressionable fruited hard teas. Enjoy their expansive taproom or lounge on their patio with couches and comfortable seating.

What To Drink:

Berkley has a few great IPAs worth checking out. Why not get really wild with it and try its 8% ABV double IPA called Hog Oiler? It’s known for its tropical fruit, pine, and citrus-driven palate.

American Solera – Tulsa, Oklahoma

American Solera
American Solera

Skip Schwartz, Head Brewer at WeldWerks Brewing Co. in Greeley, Colorado

American Solera in Tulsa, Oklahoma has got it all going for them. They produce exceptional beers that are not only well-executed but also packed with fun and uniqueness. Their brewery and taproom are simply amazing, perfectly matching their fun-loving attitude. However, what sets them apart the most is their outstanding staff, who I can confidently say are some of the best people I’ve had the pleasure of knowing and working with throughout the years. I can’t praise their beers, atmosphere, and people enough. They are a fantastic company, and I’ll happily go out of my way just to visit them and their brewery.

What To Drink:

American Solera is the type of brewery where you can order anything at random and you’ll be pretty happy with the result. To start, though, we suggest its flagship Solero. This 5% pilsner is crisp, refreshing, and totally well-balanced.

G5 Brewing – Beloit, Wisconsin

G5 Brewing

Garth Beyer, Certified Cicerone and owner of Garth’s Brew Bar in Madison, Wisconsin

Already great and better every time — that’s what I think each time I visit G5 Brewing in Beloit, Wisconsin. It’s beyond clear that the brewer continues to finesse and improve the beers. Surprisingly, it’s fairly rare to find a brewery that can make both food and beer at an excellent level. G5 is one of the few that do.

What To Drink:

If you make your way to G5, we suggest trying its kölsch-style beer called Hindenburg In A Lightning Storm. It’s crisp, refreshing, and classic with an American twist of Centennial hops.

Old Kan Beer & Co – Oakland, California

Old Kan
Old Kan

Rob Lightner, co-founder of East Brother Beer Company in Richmond, California

One of the Bay Area’s underrated breweries is Old Kan Brewing in Oakland. Old Kan was Oakland’s first brewery in the modern era and is tucked into a quiet street in an industrial part of the city. They’re much more about quality than quantity, with styles like dark lager and California common. Everything is simple, delicious, and spot-on.

What To Drink:

You can’t go wrong with any of Old Kan’s fresh beers, but we love its California Common beer aptly named “Classic”. Brewed with California malts and Northern Brewer hops, it’s crisp, bready, and lightly bitter.

The Outlaw Brewing Company – Winchester, New Hampshire

Frederic Yarm, USBG bartender at Josephine in Somerville, Massachusetts

The Outlaw Brewing Company in Winchester, New Hampshire, is an amazing visit worth the trip down dirt roads. Its rustic layout of wooden chairs around firepits with old barns and other wooden structures in the distance is contrasted by the world-class beers they brew and serve, including top-notch IPAs made with locally grown hops (some of which are grown onsite) and one of my favorite brown ales. The adventure is topped off with great musicians performing and their food truck cooking up creative dishes.

What To Drink:

Outlaw Brewing’s award-winning Peach Blonde Ale is bliss in a pint glass. It’s a balanced blonde ale with notes of bready malts, ripe peaches, and gentle, floral hops.

Coppertail Brewery – Tampa

Scott Wenger, bartender at Hula Bay Club in Tampa

A lot of breweries have a couple of great beers and a bunch of fillers, but top to bottom Coppertail has the best lineup I’ve seen. And most importantly, they resist the urge to over-hop everything they make like most American microbreweries. They take the time to focus on taste and balance.

What To Drink:

If you visit Coppertail, you have to try its take on a classic Belgian-style Trippel Ale. Unholy is referred to as an “American Trippel Ale” because of the liberal use of American hops. Refreshing, fruity, and lightly bitter, it’s a can’t-miss beer.

GloRilla Teased Her Upcoming Debut Album, And Said She Wants Another Song That’ll Have ‘All The Girls Screaming’

Over the past year, Memphis rapper, GloRilla has made an incredible breakthrough. With two back-to-back hits — “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” and “Tomorrow 2” — Glo has already shown herself to be a heavy hitter.

These songs would later appear on her debut EP, Anyways, Life’s Great…, which was released last November, and she would be announced as a Grammy nominee for Best New Artist and Best Rap Performance the following month. Now, GloRilla is gearing up for her full-length debut album.

Glo talked about the upcoming album in an interview with Good Morning America, as part of a series commemorating the 50th anniversary of hip-hop. She didn’t give away too many details, but she promised we can expect more fun, women-empowering songs.

“I’m excited about it,” said Glo. “I plan on going number one. I gotta make another song that’s gonna have all the girls screaming — and another anthem.”

Additionally, Glo has other milestones to look forward to. Yesterday, MTV announced that Glo is nominated for Best New Artist, and Best Hip-Hop alongside Cardi B for their “Tomorrow 2” collaboration.

Elsewhere in the Good Morning America interview, Glo called Cardi’s verse on “Tomorrow 2” her “favorite feature of all time.”

Cardi B is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

‘The Bear’ Star Ayo Edebiri Finds Carmy/Sydney Shippers To Be ‘Frustrating’

What do The Bear and Mad Men have in common? For one thing, they’re both very good shows. And one of the things that makes them both very good shows is another similarity: the refreshing lack of “will they, won’t they” between the male and female leads. There was no romantic tension between Don and Peggy on Mad Men; that’s also true of Carmy and Sydney on The Bear, although there’s some weirdos out there who want they to get together.

Sorry, but ain’t happening, according to Ayo Edebiri. The actress — who is having a year to remember with roles in The Bear, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, Bottoms, and Black Mirror — told the Hollywood Reporter that the fan theories among Carmy-Sydney shippers can be “frustrating.” She added, “It’s really not our thought process when we’re making the show, and I understand it can be part of a show’s culture — but I don’t think they’re going to get what they want.”

Edebiri brought up not Mad Men, but another AMC drama when discussing whether sad-eyed Carmy should be romantically involved with anyone. “It’s TV, do you want to see Walter White go to therapy and then reunite with his family?” she joked. If Edebiri plays the therapist, then yes. I want to see that.

City Girls’ JT Told A Fan To ‘Stop Begging’ For Free Merch: ‘Don’t Ask Me For Sh*t You Won’t Ask A Man’

City Girls’ JT is never one to hold back, and her recent Instagram Live was no exception. While she was chatting to fans earlier this week, one reportedly asked the rapper to send some merch — which she quickly addressed.

“Stop begging,” JT told the fan and the audience, according to HipHopDX. “You know what I don’t like? When a motherf*cker scared to beg a man but they’ll get on here and beg me. Don’t ask me for sh*t you won’t ask a man for, baby. Don’t ask me for nothing you won’t ask a man for. If you ain’t got no courage to ask the man that you texting or talking to for anything… do not think you can ask me for it because I ain’t got it just like that man.”

“The thing is don’t ask me for nothing that you can’t ask that man,” she added. “How bout you ask that man to buy you some merch? When the site open back up, boom. There you go.”

Those who have since seen the video aren’t fully here for JT’s reaction either, with one user responding, “These new artists can’t perform for sh*t & go out their way to alienate fans.” Another added, “I’d say she too fine to be so corny.”

Check out a clip of JT’s merch advice above.

Flailing Meatball Ron DeSantis’ Alleged List Of Debate Demands Aspires To Diva-Esque Tour Rider Heights (Only Not Nearly As Cool)

In a feud that’s possibly more ridiculous than Zuck v. Musk (with the latter having yet another new excuse about why he probably cannot fight), the stare down between meatball Ron DeSantis and California Governor Gavin Newsom is also growing laughable. Granted, the two governors have been at each other’s throats from afar for over a year. Last week, however, Newsom challenged DeSantis to a debate for what goal?

That’s not entirely clear, but DeSantis talked a big game in the immediate aftermath: “I’m game, let’s get it done, just tell me when and where.”

Not so fast, though. Neither has technically pulled out as of yet, but DeSantis list of alleged demands borders on the truly ridiculous, as if he’s almost taunting Newsom to call this thing off. DeSantis is no minimal-rider type of Ice Spice performer, either. Nor is he as cool-irate as Jack White with the guacamole recipe. Maybe he’s more like an early-day Bieber? Nope, still not as cool there, either.

There are no lists of colored M&M’s here, and it’s not technically a “rider,” but DeSantis requires a cheering section and more, according to an irritated Newsome spokesperson, via The Independent:

“What a joke,” Mr Newsom’s spokesperson, Nathan Click, said in a statement. “Desantis’ counterproposal is littered with crutches to hide his insecurity and ineptitude — swapping opening statements with a hype video, cutting down the time he needs to be on stage, adding cheat notes and a cheering section.”

He added that “Ron should be able to stand on his own two feet,” and that “it’s no wonder Trump is kicking his a**.”

To be fair, the GOP is so broken and MAGA-ridden that Trump would probably be leading no matter who the candidate pool included for 2024, so DeSantis could never live up to that (low) bar. Still, if you are gonna unfurl a list of silly demands before you’ll step on that stage, at least add some chunky guac to the mix. Because at that point, why not.

(Via The Independent)
