On the most recent episode of Kevin Garnett‘s “KG Certified” podcast, Garnett was joined by former Boston Celtics teammate and noted guy who has a bit too much fun on these things Paul Pierce to discuss an issue near and dear to the hearts of many basketball players: the referees.

Any time a bunch of old NBA players get together to talk about stuff in a public forum, someone will invariably bring up something that gets everyone laughing really hard. In the conversation between Garnett and Pierce, the former NBA champions spoke about how — as Garnett put it — “old school refs used to talk crazy.” The pair went through a long list of older referees that had no problem chirping back at players who weren’t happy with them, and with seemingly every name, one of the two would crack up.

Pierce really loved Garnett talking about Hugh Hollins, while Garnett revealed that Steve Javie used to basically say to players that he wished they’d try something with him. But the best, unsurprisingly, was Garnett telling the legendary story about how Joey Crawford — who he referred to as “a gangster” — once gave Tim Duncan a technical foul for laughing at him from the bench. I sincerely hope this leads to a lengthy podcast series where ex-players spend entire episodes telling stories about how insane old referees were.

Killer Mike and Andre 3000 have been collaborators and friends for decades. As members of Atlanta’s Dungeon Family musical collective, the two have maintained a musical chemistry that’s hard to come by.

On Michael — Killer Mike’s sixth studio album and his first solo album in 11 years — Andre is featured on a track called “Scientists & Engineers,” which has quickly proven to be a fan favorite. But according to radio personality Charlamagne Tha God, Mike and Andre have several other collaborations in the vault.

Earlier this week, Mike stopped by The Breakfast Club for an interview with Charlamagne, where the host recalled hearing a really special track of theirs at some point in the past, that has since remained unreleased.

“I’m not even joking, this is one of the greatest Hip Hop records, just musical records I’ve ever heard in my life,” said Charlamagne. “It’s phenomenal. I can’t even describe what y’all are doing on this record.”

Mike replied, noting that the pair has an even longer collaboration in the vault — on which, Mike raps for five minutes and Andre raps for seven.

“When you handsome and all the girls like you, you get to rap longer,” explained Mike.

According to Mike, the collaboration may see the light of day as earlier as next year, provided that Michael reaches No. 1.

Fox News has been feeling a bit like CNN does these days. Ratings at the once mighty conservative-leaning news network have been down ever since they canned Tucker Carlson, with the MAGA crowd moseying on over to the likes of Newsmax. It might be all Donald Trump’s fault. It was he who aired 2020 voter fraud nonsense, which they parroted on-air, leading to a pricey settlement with Dominion Voting Systems, which may have been the reason they tossed Tucker. And guess who’s gloating over their misfortune? Donald Trump.

Last week, MSNBC beat Fox News both in total viewers and in much-coveted 25-54 age demographic, ending a nearly two year reign on top. The feat did not go unnoticed by Trump:

MSNBC averaged 1.52 million total viewers across prime time, from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., and 172,000 demo viewers, which was enough to beat Fox’s 1.5 million total average viewers and 139,000 demo viewers. CNN landed in third place with 677,000 total average prime time viewers and 131,000 demo viewers.

This was only the fourth time in MSNBC’s 27-year history ending a week at number one in prime time in total viewers, the last time being the week of Feb. 8, 2021. Moreover, this was only the second time MSNBC has ever won prime time in both total viewers and in the demo for a week. The only other time was the week of Dec. 17, 2018.

Trump then called himself “king”:

The only solution for Fox News is to bring back Trump Allies and MAGA—Backing No Personality Ron DeSanctimonious has been a disaster….

….Also—Do not broadcast negative ads against Republican and Conservative Candidates by Perverts and Misfits like the Failing Lincoln Project, and others. Roger Ailes never allowed that—And neither should a new and less successful Fox. Big turnoff! MSDNC and Fake News CNN will never allow positive Republican ads or hit pieces on Crooked Joe Biden. Fox must get smart fast before it’s too late. Only “TRUMP” can save Fox News. It is in freefall!

Thing is, Fox News did break back Trump: He did a town hall with Sean Hannity on a couple weeks back.

One of the more consistently great bits of content that pops up every offseason is “a regular person tries to play basketball against someone who is in the NBA.” Every year, a professional basketball player shows up at a park or in a gym, plays at about 20 percent speed, and cooks some random person like they’re a well done steak.

The first player (at least that we have seen) who has given us an entry into this genre is Houston Rockets guard Jalen Green. A video began making its way around social media of Green showing up on a court and getting guarded by a dude who was part of the game. While the fan tried their very best against him and did about as good of a job as a person playing pickup can do, Green was able to get to his jumper and knew it was good from the moment it left his hand.

Again, this is a pretty good job by the fan considering that Green is a professional basketball player who averaged more than 20 points per game last season and is known for his ability to play 1-on-1 against defenders, but, well, Green is a professional basketball player, so he can just do stuff like this.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been through a lot the last few years, including partially breaking up with the Royal Family and, recently, getting into some kind of chase with the paparazzi in Manhattan. Thursday brought another headache: The Sussexes are parting ways with Spotify, for whom Markle did a podcast. Apparently their relationship with the streamer did not end well.

As per Insider, on Friday Bill Simmons, Spotify’s podcast head, trashed the couple on his own podcast, The Ringer. After guest Joe House described the host as someone who “does a lot of business deals,” Simmons responded sarcastically.

“I do? I wish I’d been involved in the Meghan and Harry leave Spotify negotiation,” Simmons said. “The f*cking grifters. That’s the podcast that we should’ve launched with them.”

Simmons also teased some dirt that he probably won’t be making public any time soon. “I gotta get drunk one night and tell the story of the Zoom I had with Harry to try to help him with podcast ideas,” he said, adding, “The grifters.”

Before the couple’s split with Spotify, Markle hosted the podcast Archetypes, which was not renewed for a second season. Its termination was reportedly mutual, though details remain thin on the ground. It’s also unclear if Markle will take the podcast elsewhere.

And so it appears Harry and Meghan have another enemy to add to their list, alongside such folks as Piers Morgan and Harry’s brother Prince William and his spouse Kate Middleton.

Sarah Palin is partly responsible for today’s lunatic GOP. After becoming John McCain’s running mate in 2008, she helped inspire the Tea Party, which paved the way for Donald Trump. None of this has helped her career. She’s hopeless at getting elected to government gigs and she tries to defend the MAGA sect, she only makes them seem worse. Heck, she’s even been “cancelled” by Fox News, at least according to her.

As per The Daily Beast, Palin went on Newsmax, which has been peeling off Fox News viewers after they canned Tucker Carlson. She and host Eric Bolling discussed the network’s controversial chyron, which called President Joe Biden a “wannabe dictator” before being quickly taken down. Bolling claimed “the old Fox” would have stood by that label, arguing that they’re “pushing away real conservative values.” Palin agreed.

“As a matter of fact, Eric, thanks to you, I lost another gig,” Palin told Bolling. “I was on your show and you had asked something about Fox…and I was, as usual, quite candid and off the cuff. And I told you what I thought about what Fox was doing. Well, I had been booked on Fox for the next day.”

She added, “I got cancelled from Fox and haven’t been invited back.”

Palin is perhaps referring to an appearance she made on Newsmax’s The Balance, in which Palin agreed with Bolling’s assertion that Fox News has “started to move left.”

“Right, and you know it’s not just Fox News of course,” Palin said. “It’s these corporate-owned, woke disconnected elites who call the shots in lamestream media and they look at us as just the peons, just the subjects.”

Fox News has been trying to play it at least a little cool since their pricey Dominion Voting Systems settlement. They even got rid of their biggest star. But they didn’t shake him off entirely. Indeed, the new Twitter guy is claiming that one of his producers is responsible for calling Joe Biden a “wannabe dictator” in a controversial chyron that briefly popped up last week.

As per The Daily Beast, Fox News parted ways with Alexander McCaskill, a longtime producer at the network whose credits include working on Tucker Carlson Tonight. In a private Instagram post, McCaskill sounded bittersweet, calling it “the best place I’ve ever worked,” but saying “the time has come” for him to leave. He ended his message by telling “all my friends there” that he “will miss you forever.”

But as per sources — and as intimated by Carlson in one of his Twitter videos that may put him in legal jeopardy — McCaskill was the one who slipped the chyron, which accused Biden of “having his political rival arrested onto the network,” on Tuesday after Donald Trump was arraigned, again.

“First they scolded the producer who put the banner on the screen,” Carlson said on his video, not naming McCaskill. “Less than 24 hours after that, he resigned. He had been at Fox for more than a decade. He was considered one of the most capable people in the building. He offered to stay for the customary two weeks, but Fox told him to clear out his desk and leave immediately.”

Fox News honchos have been terse about the chyron, which immediately gained attention on social media. In a statement they said the message “was taken down immediately and was addressed.”

Carlson was clearly proud of his former producer. “Of course Joe Biden’s not a wannabe dictator,” Carlson sarcastically said. “Just because he’s trying to put the other candidate in prison for the rest of his life for a crime he himself committed doesn’t mean he has a totalitarian impulse. That’s absurd! It takes a lot more than jailing your political rivals to earn the title of ‘wannabe dictator.’”

Biden, meanwhile, has said he had nothing to do with the Department of Justice prosecuting a former president who allegedly broke the law.

If there’s anything SZA can do, it’s prove that her hard work and patience always pay off. Last year, she released her sophomore album, SOS, which topped the Billboard 200 for ten non-consecutive weeks. This broke the record for he longest-running number-one female album of the decade and the first R&B album to spend its first seven weeks atop the chart — a record previously held by Whitney Houston’s 1987 album, Whitney.

Additionally, the album’s accompanying SOS tour proved very much demanding, so much so that she recently added 35 new dates to the tour. Amid all of her accomplishments, the “Kill Bill” hitmaker took to Twitter to express her gratitude and share an encouraging message to fans.

First and foremost, she encouraged fans to disabuse themselves of social media’s timeline and pressure.

“The net is not real,” she said. “[People] said my tour would never sell and we were blessed. [People] said my album wouldn’t do well it’s wack blah blah. We were blessed. [People] say a lot. That’s they job. U keep doing yours and being who God told u to be in REAL LIFE. love y’all.”

In addition to touring, SZA is set to headline Made In America festival in Philly this September, alongside her bestie, Lizzo.

It looks like soon, we’ll have even more Kardashians to keep up with. Last night, Kourtney Kardashian revealed her pregnancy during Blink-182’s concert in Los Angeles, and did so in grand way.

While in the audience, Kourt held up a poster reading “Travis I’m Pregnant,” surprising everyone in the venue — the audience, the band, and her husband, Travis Barker.

In a clip shared to social media, Barker appears to be elated over the news. “Someone’s having a baby!,” said one of Barker’s bandmates in the clip. Shortly after this reveal, Barker then headed to the audience to share a special moment with Kourtney.

Barker and Kourtney have six children between them — Kourtney being the mother to sons Reign Aston, 8, and Mason Dash, 13, plus daughter Penelope Scotland, 10, whom she shares with her ex, Scott Disick. Barker is the father to son Landon, 19, daughter Alabama, 17 and stepdaughter Atiana, 24, whom he shares with ex Shanna Moakler.

This news arrives after Kourtney and Travis revealed that they had been trying in vitro fertilization. In an episode of Hulu’s The Kardashiana (per People) which streamed this past May, Kourtney revealed that they had completed the IVF process.

“We are officially done with IVF,” Kourtney said in a confessional. “We would love a baby more than anything, but I really believe in what God has in store for us. If that’s a baby, I believe it will happen.”

Michael Cera’s recent interview with Rolling Stone revealed quite a lot, including having a marriage and divorce pact with Aubrey Plaza at one point. He also revealed his thoughts about a particular scene in the 2013 movie, This Is The End, where Rihanna slaps him.

The two had reportedly discussed the scene before it happened — as Cera’s character (playing himself) slaps Rihanna’s butt while she’s talking to Jason Segel, which causes her to hit him in the face. “Shut the f*ck up, Jason,” Cera responds in the original clip. “We’re playing a game.”

As part of the story, Rihanna also agreed to it if she apparently got to hit back.

“I thought it would look a lot better if she hit me,” Cera said. “I don’t think it took much convincing to get her to do it. I just thought it would look a lot better than a fake slap would because you can really feel it. It just looks a lot funnier!”

“The take that is in the movie, she really did hit my ear, which was disorienting,” he added. “But I have no regrets. I didn’t lose any hearing over it, fortunately!”
