Paramount recently announced that the flagship Yellowstone show (starring Kevin Costner) will end after Season 5 concludes. The season, which was already reported to be Costner’s last rodeo with the franchise, will likely begin shooting its final episodes (Season 5 Part 2) in August with a premiere date sometime in November. From there, though, viewers will want to know where they can catch up on Season 5 Part 1 if they haven’t done so already.

The answer to that question is a complicated one. The various Yellowstone prequels stream immediately on Paramount+, but Peacock is where the main Yellowstone series lands for streaming. And Peacock has yet to announce a date when Season 5 will start to flow under its own subscriptions that begin at $4.99 per month. Hopefully, that will be soon. However, Season 5 Part 1 is currently already available to stream on Philo and Sling TV, so it’s worth looking at their trial/introductory packages if you cannot wait any longer.

Either that, or you can go watch the 1923 and 1883 prequels again on Paramount+. And if you’re feeling particularly adventurous, there are several more Taylor Sheridan shows already available or coming soon on Paramount+. This will eventually include a Yellowstone sequel that may or may not star Matthew McConaughey. Additionally, Tulsa King and Mayor Of Kingstown are pleasing audiences with more to come. Otherwise, hang tight, and Peacock should have some updated streaming news soon.

It’s almost impossible to really comprehend just how tiny the whole of humanity is against the enormously vast universe. But every so often, thanks to folks at NASA, we get jaw-dropping, awe-inspired video proof of it.

On May 3, NASA released an animated video to YouTube highlighting ten known supermassive black holes scattered throughout the cosmos, comparing their various sizes to familiar celestial bodies in our own solar system.

Noting the utter enormity of these fascinating objects, NASA wrote, “These monsters lurk in the centers of most big galaxies, including our own Milky Way, and contain between 100,000 and tens of billions of times more mass than our Sun.”

In just under 90 seconds, we take a journey through space with these galactic behemoths, starting with a black hole named J1601+3113, containing the mass of 100,000 suns, and ending with TON 618, which contains more than 60 billion solar masses.

Everyone might have a general concept of what a black hole is, but in many ways these phenomena remain a mystery. Catching real glimpses of their actual power is a rare, profound and often humbling experience. Same could probably be said of most space matters.

It can be so easy to get caught up in the constant dilemmas in our own world (out of necessity, much of the time). Sometimes all it takes is a larger view to infuse a little more awe back into our lives.

As part of the fraternal band Jonas Brothers, Nick Jonas has been in the public eye since childhood, spawning imaginary romantic relationships with thousands of fans worldwide. However, after tying the knot with actress Priyanka Chopra in 2018, he’s happily been off the dating market.

After welcoming their first child into the world last year, the couple’s fairy tale love story has only gotten more intense, according to the pair. During her recent appearance on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show in promotion of her new Prime Video film Citadel, Chopra gushed about their whirlwind romance with the host. When asked what it’s like to date a musician and if she’s ever the muse to his release, the star admitted that Nick “sealed the deal” by writing a song about her.

“[Nick] plays this song and uses words and phrases that are very me and phrases that I’ve used. I didn’t want to presume it, so I didn’t say anything. I was like, ‘Oh, that’s an awesome song.’ He was like, ‘Yeah, does it sound familiar?’ And I was like, ‘A few words.’ He’s like, ‘Well, I wrote this for you,’” said Chopra confessing, “This is what sealed the deal.”

Chopra continued, “[Nick] said, ‘Look, I’m not a man of too many words, but my songs will be my love letters to you.”

With members of the Writers Guild of America on strike, Veep and White House Plumbers showrunner David Mandel offered his take on the situation, and it’s not pretty. With a writing career that stretches decades, including a stint on Seinfeld, Mandel has a keen understanding of the entertainment industry, and he doesn’t like how many writers he’s seen struggling in recent years.

“I’m not talking about COVID. I’m talking the changes are not working,” Mandel said. “They are scrounging for jobs in a way that doesn’t make sense to me. I don’t know what else to say. It does not make sense.”

As Mandel sees it, the writers are being punished for bad decisions made by the networks, particularly the massive push towards streaming content.

“They don’t value us. They don’t care. They worry about stock prices and debt sheets,” Mandel said. “And the irony is that their debt sheets and their stock prices are in the toilet because they’ve made business decisions like, ‘Hey, let’s get rid of the cable money and go all in on streaming.’ I did not tell them to do that. I don’t remember the writers getting consulted on that. So when these guys are at the bargaining table pleading poverty based on their own terrible decision-making — they’re never going to admit they messed up their own businesses. And now they’re trying to take it out on the writers.”

With the fight over paying writers a living wage in the era of streaming in full swing, Mandel doesn’t see an easy end to the strike.

“I have no good answer, except to say, I think it’s going to be long and bloody, and it’s going to suck.”

If Donald Trump could eat nothing but Big Macs and Filet-O-Fish sandwiches (or as he bizarrely calls them, “Fish Delights”), he would. But occasionally he switches his diet up, and adds a taco bowl to the menu.

Not just any taco bowl, however. It was seven years ago today that then-president Trump wrote one of his most infamous tweets: “Happy #CincoDeMayo! The best taco bowls are made in Trump Tower Grill. I love Hispanics!” The poorly-lit photo is the proverbial scoop of sour cream on top.

There’s a lot of terrible things about that tweet, like how “taco bowls aren’t Mexican but rather an American invention,” as NPR reported, and “Mexican-Americans are just one subset of “Hispanics,” and not all Hispanic cultures identify with tacos or Cinco de Mayo.” But worst of all is how much delight it brings Donald Trump Jr., Trump’s son who probably still thinks Chuck Norris jokes are funny. He reshared the tweet today, and found a way to make it even more offensive.

Trump’s tweet was roundly criticized at the time.

Janet Murguia, president of the National Council of La Raza, the nation’s largest Hispanic civil rights organization, tweeted a short time later that the Republican presidential front-runner’s post was “clueless, offensive and self-promoting.”

“Eating a taco or wearing a sombrero doesn’t cut it w/our community in 2016,” Murguia tweeted.

At least he isn’t handing out taco bowls to his supporters like slices of pizza.

Following the conviction of four members of the Proud Boys for seditious conspiracy based on their actions leading up to and during the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol building, Donald Trump has already lashed out on Truth Social not even 24 hours after the verdict.

The former president is under significant scrutiny over the insurrection that occurred following his “Stop The Steal” rally, but that didn’t stop him from praising the men who were found guilty of attempting to overthrow the government by force. Then again, restraint has never been Trump’s strong suit.

“Back in the USA, but sadly I see so many really bad things happening to our Country,” Trump wrote following his recent trip to Scotland. “The DOJ and FBI are destroying the lives of so many Great American Patriots, right before our very eyes. The Court System is a RUBBER STAMP for their conviction and imprisonment. All this while the Radical Left protects and coddles extremists and murderers at a level, and with intensity, never seen before. GET SMART AMERICA, THEY ARE COMING AFTER YOU!!!”

What Trump left out of his rant is the fact that the Proud Boys were convicted by a jury that was quick to reach a decision thanks to a significant amount of online messages leading up to the attack.

“It was all the chatter,” a juror explained to Vice. “All the chats. Parler, Telegram… those Telegram text messages back and forth. Not just the chats, but also the private texts. I think that was what it boiled down to. What they had to say prior to Jan. 6 and the fact that they wanted to do so much in secret.”

Emo legends American Football have been immortalized through their meme-ified “Never Meant” guitar riff and the famous artwork for their iconic self-titled album.

If you don’t know the album artwork, it’s a photograph of a house — a recurring image in emo, perhaps to symbolize the inherent intimacy and nostalgia of the genre — in Illinois. Many fans have traveled to take pictures with it, though there’s nothing physically remarkable about it otherwise. However, the band took to Twitter today to share that they heard it was going to be sold. They teamed up with their label Polyvinyl and others to buy the house.

They shared a statement about the purchase, so check that out below.

“Last fall we received word that 704 W High Street in Urbana might be sold soon. Shortly thereafter American Football, Polyvinyl, Chris Strong, Atiba Jefferson, and Open House Contemporary made a pact: we’d all buy the house together before developers could demolish it and build a condo.

Today, with sincere joy, we are excited to share that we have collectively purchased The American Football House in an effort to preserve its place and legacy within the community that built it.

Here’s to keeping this landmark alive for many more years to come.”

Quite literally, the band (Blink-182) is back together: Tom DeLonge, Mark Hoppus, and Travis Barker reunited at Coachella for a glorious reminder of their lasting impact on rock music. However, the music festival was just the tip of the iceberg. Following a delay due to Barker’s finger injury, which required surgery, last night (May 4), the group finally kicked off their monumental world tour in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Given the fact that it’s been nearly a decade since their last performance before Coachella, and with the group’s fluctuation, fans were curious as to which songs would make Blink-182’s set of songs for the world tour. Thanks to Setlist.fm, concertgoers now have a better idea of what they can expect when the band heads to the city nearest them. Several fan-favorite songs, including “Adam’s Song,” “Ghost On The Dancefloor,” and “Up All Night,” reentered their setlist, while songs like “Cynical” and “Bored To Death” were first-time live performances with DeLonge.

Whoever had the idea to give Cam’ron and Mase a sports talk show deserves a massive raise, but they also have a problem on their hands. On one hand, the show works because of the hosts’ tendencies to spiral into chaotic side discussions that make use of their charismatic, Harlem-bred personalities. On the other, sometimes they need to be reined in to keep them from veering into problematic territory — but doing so would stifle their capacity for creating viral moments like this one.

Make no mistake; this is very borderline problematic. In the latest episode of It Is What It Is, Cam basically blames Jordan Poole’s poor performance in Game 2 of the NBA Playoffs on a woman, Ice Spice — specifically, on Jordan Poole supposedly spending half a million dollars taking Ice Spice out (how?!???). But then, Mase calls Jordan Poole a “Munch” (from Ice’s breakout single and also the unofficial nickname for her loyal fans) and the whole thing becomes very funny.

“You’re a Munch, and you’re playing like a f*ckin’ Munch!” Cam declares. “This is not you from last year, bro. Go back to Milwaukee and figure it the f*ck out.” Cam explains why he’s so mad at Poole; after having the streaky shooter’s back for years, he feels let down by Poole’s questionable decision-making throughout the playoffs. However, there’s no evidence that Poole even knows Isis (Ice Spice’s real name), and the rumors come from notoriously unreliable gossip sites like Media Takeout.

Also, for what it’s worth,

It’s almost time for the Greatest Two Minutes in Sports. And unless you’re amongst the lucky few attending, you’ll probably be watching (and betting) from home or a party somewhere else. That means that you’ll need an iconic and official Derby cocktail in your hand leading up to those iconic two minutes. This year, you should be pouring the Woodford Derby, which just so happens to be the official cocktail (highball, really) of Derby 149.

The best part of this whole thing, this drink is super easy to make. It’s a simple highball concoction that you build in the cup. No stirring or shaking is required. Just some slight measuring skills and you’re all set. Moreover, this is a super refreshing drink that’ll be sure to carry over from the Derby and into your summer rotation.

Woodford Spire

Ingredients:

• 1.5 oz. Woodford Reserve Bourbon
• 2 oz. fresh lemonade
• 1 oz. cranberry juice
• Ice
• Lemon peel for garnish

This is all pretty straightforward stuff. Woodford Reserve Bourbon is available nationwide pretty much everywhere booze is sold. The rest is easily found at any grocery store.

What You’ll Need:

• Julep mug or rocks glass (a stemless wine glass works too)
• Jigger
• Fruit peeler
• Straw

Method:

• Fill the cup with ice and then add in the bourbon, lemonade, and cranberry juice.
• Drop in a straw and stir once.
• Express the lemon oils over the drink and drop in the peel. Serve.

Bottom Line:

This is a fruity and bourbon-y delight. The lemonade adds a nice twang to the affair with the cranberry bringing in a nice layer of sweetness and tartness. The bourbon gets super creamy and vanilla-forward with a nice hint of oakiness and caramel underlying the fruity sweetness.

Overall, this took about 10 seconds to make. It’s super-duper refreshing (it almost went down too easily). And it feels like the perfect accompaniment to watching horses run as fast as they can for two minutes at a time on a nice sunny day. Seriously though, you’ll be drinking these all summer after just one sip.
