All The Best Fan Outfits From Taylor Swift’s ‘The Eras Tour’ (So Far)

Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour has already made history twice. First off, the tour has already appropriately earned just over half a billion dollars, and the Swifties are dressing the part when it stops in their city.

Next, after selling out opening night in Glendale, Arizona (now known as Swift City, ERAzona), Swift broke the record for the most-attended female concert in U.S. history — a record previously held by pop superstar Madona. Lastly, although Swift wasn’t the first entertainer to crash Ticketmaster’s server due to overwhelming demand during its pre-sale, fans of the “Lavender Haze” singer’s outrage with the company eventually led to a Senate Judiciary hearing.

Now, as the tour kicks into the swing of things with opening night out of the way, all eyes are on the Swifties. Super fans of the singer are joining in on the show’s theme of Swift’s different phases throughout her career in music by dressing for the occasion. While the musician isn’t known as a “fashion girlie,” she has several memorable looks to serve as inspiration.

From her most recognizable crystalized looks to her cardigan sweater era, she has a look for everyone. Take a look at some of the Swifties’ best outfits for The Eras Tour below.

Ari Lennox’s ‘Princess And The Frog’ Unofficial Audition Video Is Breathtakingly Fit For A Princess

Ari Lennox broke the hearts of her fans when she revealed at the end of last year that her Age Sex Location Tour would be her last. “I love my genuine fans so much and can’t wait to give you my all every night!!” she wrote on social media. “Europe, I love you, but unfortunately, there will not be a tour due to reasons out of my control. Happy holidays. See you soon, Vegas!”

But it looks like she has big plans this year. The singer shared a video on Twitter of her performing “Almost There” by Anika Noni Rose and wrote, “Hi @Disney,” she wrote. “I’m Ari Lennox, and I would love an opportunity to audition for Princess and The Frog in person.”

Her isolated vocals are undeniably strong and impressive, and her energy is infectious. How could they say no?

She was also just featured on the soundtrack for Creed III alongside artists like Big Sean, JID, Tierra Whack, Kehlani, Westside Boogie, Est Gee, J Cole, and more.

She also recently collaborated with Babyface for the song “Liquor.” About her talent, Babyface said on the podcast Lip Service, “I think that Ari’s voice is a voice that she can sing about many things that matter to a lot of people. Her voice is an important voice, and I think that it’s just the beginning for her.”

The Killers Paid Tribute To U2 With A Passionate Cover Of ‘Where The Streets Have No Name’

The Killers released a lot of new music within the past few years with 2021’s Pressure Machine and 2020’s Imploding The Mirage. They’ve been bringing that fresh material to the stages on their tour, but they’re also been bringing other songs, too.

On Friday (March 17), the “Mr. Brightside” group played Uncasville’s Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut and wanted to make it special for St. Patrick’s Day. So the band included a cover of U2’s “Where The Streets Have No Name” in their set. “Do you know why we celebrate St Patrick’s Day?” Frontman Brandon Flowers said. “We bring with us an Irishman everywhere we go. He’s been doing lights for us for about 17 years, Steven Douglas.”

He continued, “But even long before we had met Steven – we all love U2 – and they had the little album called ‘The Joshua Tree.’ We thought, since that’s sort of the common denominator of this band, you know, we all can agree that U2… We’re all agreed upon U2, fellas? [They were important] when we first started.”

Before singing, he said they were “gonna to do a little tribute to them — Christianity coming to Ireland and U2 singing about unity — here tonight.”

Jesse Watters Is Handling The Possible Trump Indictment About As Well As One Would Expect: ‘They Better Not Put My President In Prison’

Is Donald Trump about to get indicted? The world may soon find out. Fox News will almost certainly go into full nuclear meltdown mode when/if it happens, but on Monday night, before the day Trump himself predicted it would all go down, the show’s stars did some pre-gaming, having some old fashioned freak-outs at the very idea that the disgraced former — and, somehow, maybe future — president could be held accountable for his actions.

“They better not put my president in prison,” a very worked-up Jesse Watters ranted on that day’s airing of The Five. “He represents 74 million Americans. And if he’s the nominee, you’re putting 74 million votes in prison. And that’s how I see it.”

Trump’s crime involves the $130,000 hush money payment sent to Stormy Daniels mere weeks before the 2016 presidential election, a crime for which his then-lawyer, Michael Cohen, did time. Watters dismissed it as a mere “bookkeeping charge,” then turned to a line that’s been popular among Trump defenders of late: that there are other crimes happening in New York City, so why doesn’t Manhattan D.A. Alvin Bragg tackle those instead? (Or cover only those and not this one.)

“He’s emptying the prison — what, to make room for Trump?” Watters railed. “No one else is getting charged with anything.” But he was only getting warmed up. “The guy wants to make a name for himself, obviously, because he wants to be…the first prosecutor to throw cuffs on Trump,” said Watters. “That’ll get you elected pretty much governor in the state of New York. That’s what he’s after.”

On the eve of Trump’s possible indictment (which might not even happen, at least not that day), New York City police started ramping up security measures, including putting up barriers at places like the courthouse where Trump may soon find himself being fingerprinted. But trying to protect the city’s denizens from supporters who’ve already proven themselves violent was misguided, Watters said, and could itself “trigger another January 6.”

Watters even advised MAGA types to not follow in the same footsteps as the likes of QAnon Shaman and the Coors guy, saying, “Don’t fall for it.”

Watters wasn’t the only one steamed about the looming maybe indictment. Tucker Carlson predictably went all doomsday on his show a few hours later, claiming that if the former president is punished for his actions, “voters will never again determine the outcome of a presidential election.” Okay, then!

In other words, Tuesday, March 21 should be something, whether anything happens to Trump or not.

Author is causing debate over theory that we’ve ‘tricked’ ourselves into loving lobster

Novelist Jason K. Pargin has inspired an online food fight after his video about lobster received over 500,000 views on Tiktok and nearly 6 million on Twitter. Pargin believes that we’ve all been tricked into liking lobster and that people only like it because it’s considered high class.

Pargin is the author of the “John Dies at the End” and “Zoey Ashe” series and the former editor of Cracked.com.

“I don’t think anyone actually enjoys eating lobster. I think they’ve just been convinced that it’s a high-class food for a really specific reason,” Pargin says in his controversial video. He then describes how just a few centuries ago lobster was once used as prisoners’ food and ground into fertilizer.

But after the food developed a reputation for being hard to transport from the coastal areas inland and that it spoils quickly after being cooked, it began to be seen as a delicacy.

“So because it was difficult to mess with and because it had to be shipped live inside the country, away from the coast, it became known that lobster was difficult to obtain,” Pargin says in his video. “And because it’s difficult to obtain, it had to be expensive, and because it was expensive, we decided it was good.”

“You were eating lobster not because you enjoyed it but because you wanted it to be known to all who were watching you that you could afford lobster,” Pargin continues.

His final point was a real blow to those who only eat lobster if it’s drowned in butter. “You know what also tastes good when you dump it into a bucket of butter? Anything,” Pargin says.

The viral video sparked a hot debate on Twitter, where it appears that most people disagreed with Pargin—especially those who live in the northeast and enjoy lobster no matter how it’s prepared. Many had a problem with Pargin framing the argument from the limited American perspective.

Lobster is eaten worldwide and has been enjoyed by countless cultures since the prehistoric era. People enjoy lobster in places where it’s affordable and where it’s considered a delicacy. So that kills his argument that we’ve been duped into enjoying lobster simply because it’s expensive.

But Pargin is entirely correct when he claims that we value things more when they are scarce. In psychology, the concept is known as the scarcity effect.

“Scarcity is a pervasive condition of human existence,” Shahram Heshmat, Ph.D., writes in Psychology Today. “Everyday circumstances of limited resources (money and time) can make individuals experience a sense of scarcity. Scarcity functions like an obstacle to goal pursuit, which intensify the value of goal.”

Here’s what people are saying about Pargin’s videos on Twitter.

Sorry, Jason, history goes way past the 1800s.

Some swear they do not need to drown a lobster in butter to enjoy its flavor.

Many disagreed and shared why they love the cockroach of the seas.

Is lobster really just a butter-delivery system?

Some agree with Pargin that people only like lobster because it’s expensive.

Pargin’s argument makes sense. We value things harder to get, and anything dunked in butter tastes fantastic. But that doesn’t cover the fact that people enjoy lobster around the globe, regardless of its perceived scarcity. In the end, the real winners of this debate are those who don’t like lobster. Right now, a pound of Maine lobster goes for up to $80 a pound. That’s an expensive night out at the local fish joint.

This 1940s guide on ‘how to be pretty’ for teen girls has some surprisingly modern suggestions

Often, when we think of the 1940s and the messaging that was sent to women and girls back then, we tend to imagine lessons about how to get and keep a husband. But it turns out that all messaging wasn’t the same and some girls were receiving a much more progressive message about their appearance.

In a resurfaced video from the 1940s, Mary Stuyvesant, a Ponds beauty consultant, spoke to a group of high school girls about “how to be pretty.” Surprisingly, the advice is rather timeless and not at all focused on becoming the best wife and mother you can be, but on learning to care for yourself. Stuyvesant refers to your physical appearance as icing on a cake and that good icing tastes nice but the cake is the most important part.

She goes on to explain to the girls that who they are as people is the cake and that’s the part that needs the most attention.

It turns out teen girls in the 40s were similar to teen girls today, but instead of snapping their friends or scrolling TikTok, they were writing letters and listening to the radio.

“Sleep comes next to cleanliness as a beauty base, and I mean sleep. Not just go to bed if that means sitting up writing letters or listening to music,” Stuyvesant lectures. She continues, “I’ve seen lots of sparkling eyes and good complexions sacrificed to swing records at bedtime.”

At the end of the video a girl questions the advice, not fully understanding how not focusing on their physical appearance will make them prettier.

“Sometimes I could shake you girls when you worry so much about being pretty or not being pretty, as though prettiness were a woman’s only attraction,” Stuyvesant replied.

Minus the shaking part, the sentiment behind Stuyvesant’s words are still true today. Focusing on properly taking care of yourself and making healthy choices is likely one of the best recipes for confidence in other areas of your life.

Weatherman rescues a chicken in a blizzard and now they’re an unlikely best friend duo

There’s a little-known saying that every weatherman needs a chicken. OK, it’s little known because I totally just made it up, but you have to admit, it’s just random enough to make you wonder if you missed out on a weird colloquialism. But in this case, it may be a new saying because weatherman David Neal found a stray chicken while reporting on a blizzard, and they’ve somehow become best friends.

The chicken, now named Penelope, was running around in the snowstorm while Neal was filming, so he tried to catch her so he could make sure she was warm. Penelope had other plans and gave Neal a literal run for his money. Eventually, with the help of a bystander who was likely as confused as the chicken, Neal was able to get Penny in his arms.

Of course, he had some explaining to do once the cameras were rolling again, and he handled it like the pro he is, holding a live chicken.

“During my live shot, a chicken walked up to me in about seven inches of snow. So I picked the chicken up and we’re really good friends now. So if you lost a chicken maybe you can give me a call,” Neal reported during his segment.

No one called reporting a lost chicken, but Neal and his roommate, Sharon, were happy to add Penelope to their household. Neal said the chicken was skinny and obviously cold when he found her, but it didn’t take long for the chicken to bond with the weatherman.

The duo does everything together, including fishing on a boat and a podcast where Neal talks about the weather, except now, he has a chicken on his shoulder giving him notes. Their relationship is so cute, you have to see it for yourself.

Miami Upset Indiana In The Final Seconds To Knock Off A Second 1-Seed

For the second straight night, a No. 1 seed has been eliminated from the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament. A night after Stanford lost at home to Ole Miss in a tense defensive battle, it was Indiana’s turn to suffer a painful defeat at the hands of the Miami Hurricanes — who also knocked out the Indiana men’s squad in the second round on Sunday.

Miami jumped out to an early lead and expanded it to 12 at the half, as Lola Pendade and Destiny Harden came out red-hot to push the Canes to a double-digit lead. In the third quarter, the Hoosiers woke up as Grace Berger and Mackenzie Holmes went to work, pulling to within one as they outscored the Hurricanes 19-8 in the third period to set up a thrilling fourth quarter. Despite applying constant pressure, Indiana could never retake the lead, as Miami had an answer for every Hoosiers run.

On three separate occasions, the Hoosiers tied the game, but Miami was able to immediately regain an advantage each time. First it was a Holmes layup that was followed by a Pendade layup and a Haley Cavinder three that put Miami back up five with two minutes to play.

From there, it was Yarden Garzon who looked like she might be the Hoosiers hero, as she twice drilled big threes to tie the game in the final minute, including a filthy stepback with six seconds to go.

However, the Canes were able to advance the ball after a timeout and drew up a play to get the ball into Harden in the post, and she went to work, hitting a turnaround jumper over a defender that rolled in with just over three seconds to play. Indiana, without a timeout, needed to go the length of the floor and couldn’t muster a shot at the tie or the win, as the Canes pulled off the 70-68 stunner.

After the game, Harden, who finished with 18 points and five rebounds, gave a colorful explanation of the conversation in the huddle prior to her game-winning bucket.

Pendade led the Canes with 19 points and seven boards, while Jasmyne Roberts also had 16 as the Hurricanes got a bit more from the collective group than the Hoosiers on the night. Holmes and Berger combined for 39 points, but only Garzon, with 10, joined them in double figures. Seeing two top seeds go out in the first weekend is rather stunning in the women’s tournament, but Miami joins Ole Miss in shocking upset wins that send them to the Sweet 16.
