Brand New Adele ’30’ LPs, Which Received Blame For Huge Vinyl Delays, Were Found At Goodwill In Droves, It Appears

Towards the end of 2021, Adele became a bit of a villain in the vinyl community. The singer apparently turned in her album 30 months early to get a headstart on the vinyl production process, and reports indicated this prevented smaller artists from getting their records pressed. Later reports said this probably wasn’t her fault, though, as the 30 LPs Adele had pressed only made up an estimated 0.3 percent of the total vinyl produced in 2021.

Whatever the case, there was clearly a lot of interest in the album, as 30 was the year’s best-selling album on vinyl, even though it was only released that November. Still, it appears that according to one person’s thrift store trip, demand for the album on vinyl was at least somewhat overestimated.

In a tweet that has racked up over 2 million views since it was shared on March 13, a Twitter user wrote, “Imagine ruining the manufacturing process of vinyl for a full year just to end up at goodwill because you didn’t realize there was no market for your music on vinyl.” Accompanying that are photos of sealed 30 LPs apparently for sale at a Goodwill thrift store, priced for $9.99 each. There appears to be over 100 records on the rack.

The source of those photos comes from a Reddit post shared earlier that day. In the comments of the post, one user wrote, “I run a small record label and one of my releases got delayed for almost two years because Sony clogged multiple pressing plants for a year to press this.” The original poster responded, “Yeah, there are so many small labels that went through that. That’s why it pisses me off so much. And here they, just a year later, about to head to the dump.”

The G League Ignite Will Reportedly Shut Down Scoot Henderson For The Rest Of The Year

One of the presumed top prospects in the 2023 NBA Draft will not play again this season. According to a report by Jonathan Givony of ESPN, G League Ignite guard Scoot Henderson is getting shut down as the team is well on the outside looking in of the playoff picture.

Currently, the Ignite are 11-16 on the year and are four games back of the 8-seed with five games left to play in the regular season. While he has yet to formally declare for the 2023 NBA Draft, Henderson, a 19-year-old guard out of Georgia, is believed to be in the running to go No. 2 overall behind French center Victor Wembanyama. The two players went head-to-head in a pair of games between the Ignite and Wembanyama’s Metropolitans 92 squad last year, and while an injury largely held Henderson out of the second game, the 6’2 guard held his own in a 28-point, 9-assist evening.

Henderson appeared in 19 games for the Ignite this season and went for 16.5 points, 6.8 assists, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.1 steals in 30.7 minutes of work a night. There are questions about his ability to score at an efficient clip, as he converted 42.9 percent of his attempts from the field and knocked down 27.5 percent of his shots from behind the three-point line.

Wait… Does Rudy Giuliani Not Know What The Oscars Are?

While taking a break from appearing in several text messages from Fox News employees about his crazy election fraud schemes and leaky head, Rudy Giuliani filmed a new episode of his web show on Monday where he seemed to have no clue what the Oscars are. Keep in mind, the awards ceremony has been going on for 95 years, but Rudy appeared to be absolutely clueless about the whole thing.

Via Mediaite:

“Somebody asked me about something called Oscar. Oscar?” Giuliani said during the Monday edition of his show, America’s Mayor Live.

“The Oscars,” a producer off-camera corrected.

“Oh, it’s the — oh, it’s a family,” Giuliani replied, appearing to get more confused. “What are Oscars. Some big thing happened last night called Oscar?”

After his producer clarified that it was a Hollywood award show, Giuliani went down a different rabbit hole, discussing the show The Chosen about the life of Jesus Christ.

In Rudy’s defense, he has a lot on his plate. The famed New York City attorney who used to be heralded for taking on the mob is facing all kinds of legal trouble from his participation in Trump’s election fraud scheme in Georgia to the multi-billion dollar lawsuits he’s facing from at least voting software companies. He’s also just a downright terrible lawyer now, which is literally the defense he used in his own ethics hearing back in December.

In short, the man’s brain is a twisted labyrinth of Trump schemes and alimony, folks. You can’t expect him to remember things like the longest-running awards show in the history of motion pictures. Be reasonable.

60-year-old walks for hours on end to create epic snow art with just his feet

Simon Beck didn’t set out to become a world-renowned snowshoe artist, yet here he is. The former cartographer was trained in engineering at Oxford, but has spent the past ten years making jaw-dropping art in the snow and sand using only his feet.

Beck uses geometrical and geographical tools to plot out his designs, but it’s still baffling to see him walk exactly where he needs to to create them. His designs can take 12 hours of walking or more, and he’ll take around 40,000 steps for an average-sized piece. It’s beautiful, it’s creative, it’s exercise—and it’s fleeting.

Being made out of snow and sand, which are constantly being blown or washed away, Beck’s artwork doesn’t last. Such is the nature of creating art in nature, but that doesn’t bother him in the slightest. “Most people will only ever see most of the world’s artwork as photographs,” he said in an article in Artsy. “Even with the Mona Lisa—probably only a minority of people have actually seen the real thing, but everyone’s seen a photograph of it.” As long as Beck gets a photo of his massive designs, it’s all good.

And the photographs are truly something to behold. Check out some of his snow creations on Facebook and Instagram.

One of the challenges of working in the snow is that conditions can change throughout the creation of a piece. Snow might melt or become exceptionally icy.

Or, other people might not realize what is happening and inadvertently mess up your work. For instance, there’s nothing to stop a skier from plowing right through a design.

Beck’s sand drawings offer a different kind of challenge. Timing out the tides and dealing with the wind—as well as other beachgoers—makes sand art tricky, but the final product is totally worth it.

On occasion, Beck even uses his art to make statements about issues in the world. For instance, there are 81 triangles in this drawing, but he says he left 77 unshaded to represent “the 77 countries where LGBT people are given a hard time.”

Beck has created most of his 300-plus land drawings in Europe. However, he will be spending two weeks of January 2020 in Silverthorne, Colorado, where he will create between five and 15 of his iconic works of snow art.

ABC News did a segment on Beck and his work, where he explains a bit of his process and how he uses a ski pole to measure parts of the design. Watch and enjoy:

Simon Beck has become a global sensation for his installations made by stepping through snow with snowshoes and a ski pole.

Avocado farmer explains secret why you can’t grow Hass avocado trees from Hass seeds

Have you ever seen anyone put an avocado pit in water to grow an avocado tree? I’ve seen lots of people try, but only a few succeed. My mom has a tiny avocado tree growing in her living room that she managed to grow from the pit of a Hass avocado she ate. It’s small but thriving, and I’ve often wondered if it will ever grow actual avocados.

As it turns out, it could—but they won’t be Hass avocados.

Wait, huh?

In a wow-that’s-an-interesting-factoid-I-never-knew-before video, an avocado tree grower explains in this YouTube video why a Hass avocado seed doesn’t grow into a Hass avocado tree. Avocados, apparently, are not “true to seed” plants, meaning if you plant the seed, you’ll end up with a different variety of the fruit the seed came from. Apples are the same—if you plant a Fuji apple seed, you will not get a Fuji apple tree. In fact, chances are really, really high that you’ll get an avocado or an apple that tastes terrible if you try to grow it from a seed of an existing fruit.

The guy from Sleepy Lizard Avocado Farm explains how it all works using an analogy with candy flavors. This is the genetics lesson we all needed in school when we were trying to figure out Punnett squares, and he explains it all so clearly.

Incredible how nature works, and so amazing what human beings have been able to figure out over millennia of agricultural advancements.

So how do you get a Hass avocado tree if you can’t plant a Hass avocado seed to grow it? As he explains in the video, you can plant the pit and start to grow the tree, but if you want Hass avocados you have to graft a branch of a Hass avocado tree onto the stem of the tree you’re growing.

Or, you can just buy a baby Hass avocado tree that’s already been grafted, which is probably a heck of a lot easier than figuring out how to graft one yourself.

So go ahead and sprout that seed in water and grow yourself a pretty avocado plant if you’d like. Just don’t expect any yummy avocados from it, since your chances are about 1 in 10,000 that it’ll happen.

Thanks for the fascinating lesson, avocado guy!

‘Lazy’ mom of four shares a video of her incredibly messy home and parents love her for it

It’s hard to keep your home clean when you have a child, but when you have four, unless you have a live-in maid, it’s completely impossible. There is no dishwasher fast enough to keep up with the dishes in the sink and no magical point where all four children have it together enough to put their toys away.

The problem is that if you take your eyes off the prize and let a day go by without cleaning up, you’re practically drowning in chaos.

TikTok user and stay-at-home mom Bri James (aka @themessymama4) did the unthinkable and let her home go four days without tidying up and shared the incredible mess with everyone on TikTok.

“I know I’m going to get roasted,” she says in the clip, “but … this is what happens when two really lazy adults have four kids and don’t clean up after themselves.”

The clip shows cutlery on the floor, empty packets everywhere, dishes piled a mile-high in the sink, and clothes and toys strewn everywhere. The house looks like the parents went away on a permanent vacation and left their kids to fend for themselves.

The video was praised by a lot of parents who are tired of seeing mommy influencers with spotless homes and children in matching linen outfits. Finally, there was a mom on TikTok they could relate to.

“I’d MUCH rather see you clean your realistic house than watch another blonde clean an already clean countertop,” Meghan Sanders wrote.

TikTokker Its_not_that_serious put things in perfect perspective. “Dude, at the end of the day all of their fingers and toes are attached and feeling safe and loved you’re doing fine. Someday the house will be clean,” they wrote.

“Having children is mentally and physically exhausting and you don’t always have the energy to clean every day,” Rose added.

But not everyone appreciated Bri’s slice of reality. Some people thought that her messiness was borderline neglectful and that she was setting a terrible example for her children.

“Set a good example for your kids. Make them help,” carleebocciaa wrote.

“Without children = fine, your choice. With children (especially small ones) = completely unacceptable,” ACZOgirly wrote.

Shortly after posting her first video, Bri got to work on the impossible task of cleaning up the entire house. Noticeably absent from the job were her spouse and four children. She appears to clean the entire place by herself.

She showed her cleaning prowess through a series of fast-motion videos.

@themessymama4

my butt does not look flattering in these Walmart lounge pants 🤦🏼‍♀️😅

Finally, at 9:30 p.m., Bri was done with most of the job, although she still had a bit of vacuuming to do and there were still some dishes in the sink. At the end of the job, she was exhausted. But she got the job done and that’s all that matters. It’s OK to let your house fall into disarray from time to time but eventually, you have to take care of business.

@themessymama4

I’m going to bed now. 🤣🥱😴

We’ll give TikTokker Sannon Martin the final word on this story because she hits the nail on the head. “Your home is exactly like mine,” she wrote. “Some days it’s a wreck and some days it looks amazing. That’s life. You’re doing great!”

Pelvic floor doctor explains why going pee ‘just in case’ is a really bad idea

A pelvic floor doctor from Boston, Massachusetts, has caused a stir by explaining that something we all thought was good for our health can cause real problems. In a video that has more than 5.8 million views on TikTok, Dr. Alicia Jeffrey-Thomas says we shouldn’t go pee “just in case.”

How could this be? The moment we all learned to control our bladders we were also taught to pee before going on a car trip, sitting down to watch a movie or playing sports.

The doctor posted the video as a response to TikTok user Sidneyraz, who made a video urging people to go to the bathroom whenever they get the chance. Sidneyraz is known for posting videos about things he didn’t learn until his 30s. “If you think to yourself, ‘I don’t have to go,’ go.” SidneyRaz says in the video. It sounds like common sense but evidently, he was totally wrong, just like the rest of humanity.

“Pelvic floor physical therapist here, and I work with a lot of people with overactive bladders, stress incontinence, urge incontinence, the whole nine yards,” Dr. Jeffrey-Thomas began her clip. “And here’s why you shouldn’t go ‘just in case.”‘

In the video, Dr. Jeffrey-Thomas explains the three levels of feeling the need to pee.

“The first one is just an awareness level that tells you that there’s some urine in the bladder,” she said. “The second one is the one that tells you to make a plan to use the toilet, and the third is kind of the panic button that says, ‘Get me there right now, I’m about to overflow.’”

@sidneyraz

on vacation and remembering #vacation #tips #bathroom #travel #tipsandtricks #todayilearned #todayyearsold #islandlife #traumabrain #roadtrip #inmy30s

Then she made her case by giving a visual explanation of how going when we don’t need to teaches our bodies to prematurely send signals that it’s time to pee. The simple explanation has a lot of people wondering if their pee sensor is still working correctly.

@thepelvicdancefloor

#stitch with @sidneyraz I know it sounds counterintuitive and goes against everything your momma taught you – just out here trying to save your bladder 🤍

In a rare display of humility on the internet, Sidneyraz saw the video and thanked the doctor for the correction. “Oh hey thanks for correcting me!” he wrote.

The video shocked a lot of people who feel like their entire lives have been based on a lie—at least when it comes to something most of us do six to eight times a day. “TikTok is basically just a bunch of videos telling me I’m doing life wrong,” joked one commenter. “Like Jesus, really? I’m peeing wrong?”

Yes, you are.

“Who else hears their mom in their head say ‘go just in case’ when you’re out and about and near a bathroom?” another commenter asked.

The good news is that if you’ve always been the type to go “just in case” and you constantly feel like you need to go pee, there is hope. With the help of a doctor, you can retrain your bladder so that you only feel the need to go when it’s time. Now, who’s going to be the first brave person who doesn’t go when they feel the need, just to see if their body’s pee sensor is off?

Jimmy Kimmel Actually Didn’t Say Rihanna’s Name Wrong At The Oscars, Despite What Some Fans Think

Just days after Jimmy Kimmel hosted the Oscars, his talk show’s executive producer (and his wife) Molly McNearney is setting the record straight about how some viewers thought he said Rihanna’s name wrong during the show.

“We had two versions of the monologue,” Kimmel’s wife Molly McNearney told Variety. “One if Rihanna was in her seat, one if she was not in her seat. One if Rihanna had her baby on her lap, which she wanted to do. And one if her baby was not on her lap. A lot of our jokes were kind of at the mercy of people being in their seats.”

As it turns out, he was actually saying Rihanna’s name the proper way, which is to rhyme it with “anna” like “banana.”

“Jimmy is obsessed with pronouncing people’s names correctly,” McNearney said. “There is a guy at the show whose job is to find the pronunciations. We always find video of the person saying their own name on camera. And that is the way you pronounce Rihanna. There’s a whole interview with her about it.”

“Jimmy said, ‘I want to call her the way the name that she calls herself.’ And that’s how she says it in Barbados,” she added. “It felt funny to people. Now America knows how to pronounce her name, although they won’t. They’ll just assume Jimmy f*cked up but no, he did not!”

Even though the proper pronunciation of Rihanna’s name has been public record for over a decade now, people continue to say “Ree-awn-uh”… but not Kimmel.

Report: The Giants Will Trade For Raiders Tight End Darren Waller

The New York Giants have been busy this offseason, as the team came to terms on a new contract with starting quarterback Daniel Jones and put the franchise tag on his backfield partner, Saquon Barkley. Now, New York has moved on to finding someone to catch the ball for Jones, and have found that in now-former Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller.

According to multiple reports, the Giants and the Raiders have agreed to a deal to send Waller to the NFC. The 2020 Pro Bowl selection will reportedly head to New York at a pretty low cost, as the team will send Las Vegas the comp pick that it received when it traded Kadarius Toney to the Kansas City Chiefs last season.

Waller has been one of the NFL’s most productive tight ends when he has been able to play in recent seasons, with his best year coming in 2020 as he caught 107 balls for 1,196 yards and nine touchdowns. The problem in recent years has been health, as Waller was only able to play in 20 total games during the 2021 and 2022 campaigns. Prior to last season, Waller and the Raiders agreed to a 3-year, $51 million contract extension that made him the highest-paid player at his position in the NFL and runs through 2026.
