Super Bowl LVII must have pleased Paul Rudd to no end. Beyond the game itself, though, Rihanna used the halftime show to drop (confirmed) word of her second pregnancy, and Marjorie Taylor Greene seized the opportunity to receive an earful about Chris Stapleton’s “wokeness.” Oh, and King Twitter Elon Musk sat next to no one surprising, but late in the game, a jump-scare did develop.

That would be a Tubi ^^ ad spot, which legit scared the bejesus out of me because I was already feeling frustrated with my streaming experience over the evening. I thought something was acting up (again) and began to curse out loud. Little did I realize that the “channel changing” effect was a troll job from Tubi. As it turns out, I was far from alone in briefly freaking out. People thought that they (or someone else in the room) might have been sitting on the remote control, which feels like evidence of a brilliant (yet evil) ad. On YouTube, Tubi anticipated this development with their caption: “No, you didn’t sit on the remote. But on Super Bowl Sunday, we fooled audiences into thinking they did.”

People were not pleased. Right out of the gate, Twitter users were irked. One user declared, “Aye man that tubi commercial just pissed me off I almost broke my tv.” Another joked (?) about wanting Tubi “arrested.”

A favorite thus far: “nobody has ever f*cked with me as hard as that tubi ad.”

From there, the mentions of people having “yelled” and/or “screamed” at their TVs began. Super Bowl feelings are intense, man.

During her Super Bowl Halftime Show performance last night (February 12), Rihanna came through with something you don’t see in that environment every day: a pregnancy announcement. While that news shocked the entertainment world, Rihanna actually appears to have publicly hinted at it days before the big game.

A preview clip of Rihanna’s NFL+ interview with CBS Mornings co-host and former NFL player Nate Burleson was shared on February 10. Burleson’s final question of the video was, “People want to know: Are there any surprises?” Rihanna responded, “I’m thinking about bringing someone. I’m not sure.” Burleson asked if she’d tell him about it off-camera and she laughingly shut that request down.

Burleson later addressed this moment on Twitter. Last night, a Twitter user wrote, “So when #rihanna told @nateburleson there was gonna be a surprise guest at the halftime show, I’m betting that the BABY is the surprise guest #JustSayin #SuperBowl.” He shared the tweet and added, “Bingo,” along with a bullseye emoji. In another tweet responding to a similar post, he added, “She had that preggo glow…”

The baby will be Rihanna and ASAP Rocky’s second. Once the pregnancy was revealed, people came through with memes and jokes about what it was like for the kid inside of their mother’s womb during the halftime performance.

Yesterday (February 12) was huge for Rihanna. Obviously, she performed the halftime show at Super Bowl LVII, hosted in Glendale, Arizona’s State Farm Stadium. Perhaps of more personal significance, though, was that Rihanna took the opportunity to announce that she’s pregnant with her and ASAP Rocky’s second baby. While it wasn’t explicitly clear right away that Rihanna had announced a pregnancy on stage, representatives later confirmed it.

After Rihanna dropped that bit of news, halftime show viewers couldn’t help but wonder: What did it look like for baby No. 2 inside of Rihanna’s womb, as the singer moved around and put on her epic performance? Naturally, the internet came through with memes aplenty, mostly communicating one of two ideas: The baby was either dancing and enjoying itself or being uncontrollably jostled inside their mother. When the new baby is born, Rihanna and Rocky’s two children will be close in age, as their first child was only just born back in May 2022. The two haven’t offered many details about their first kid yet, although in December, Rihanna did share an adorable video of the baby strapped in a car seat and doing cute baby stuff.

The Super Bowl is one of the few remaining events where it feels like everything stops and focuses on a singular thing — even if plenty of the focus is on things beyond the field like the halftime show or ads.

On Monday, though, the sports world gets right back to its normal schedule, which means a full slate of NBA games, including a Rockets-Sixers game in Philadelphia, where morale isn’t exactly high right now after the Eagles saw a 10-point lead evaporate in the second half to the Chiefs. Even after the loss, Eagles fans were out and about in the streets, as win or lose they were going to consume a lot of beverages and make a ruckus well into the night.

That was a problem for the Rockets, who were trying in vain to go to bed in their Philly hotel room, which rookie Jabari Smith Jr. chronicled on his Instagram story, pleading with the fans below to go to bed and stop beating drums outside because he had to deal with Joel Embiid tomorrow and needed a solid night’s rest.

The dancing Travis Kelce filter really adds to the whole thing, as he’s half trolling Philly fans and half understanding of their frustration. Unfortunately for Smith, his plea will fall on deaf ears, as he is certainly not going to get to sleep anytime soon if he needs complete quiet outside. If it’s any consolation for Smith, it would be a whole lot louder after an Eagles win, so it could be even worse for him tonight.

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs have won the Super Bowl yet again. Kansas City survived quite the battle with the Philadelphia Eagles en route to a 38-35 win, although it did not come without some controversy at the end of the game.

After an Eagles touchdown and two-point conversion tied things up with 5:15 left in the fourth quarter, the Chiefs got the ball and marched down the field, getting down to the Philly 15-yard line with just under two minutes remaining. Things did, however, look manageable for the Eagles, as Kansas City faced a third-and-8 that fell incomplete, as Patrick Mahomes tried to throw the ball to JuJu Smith-Schuster, who was nowhere near where he needed to be in the end zone.

And then, the flag came that changed the game. According to the officials, Eagles defensive back James Bradberry committed a holding on Smith-Schuster that prevented him from running his route.

The call was five yards and a fresh set of downs for Kansas City, and as we’ve seen time and time again over the year, giving Mahomes another chance is deadly. After the call, the Chiefs ran three plays to kill the clock and set up Harrison Butker, whose 27-yard field goal went straight through the uprights to give KC a 38-35 lead.

Philly’s final play was a heave from Jalen Hurts that came nowhere close to getting to the end zone, and the Chiefs emerged with their second Super Bowl victory with Mahomes under center.

The #FentyBowl — more commonly referred to as Super Bowl LVII’s halftime show — went off without a hitch. With Rihanna billed as the featured act, all eyes were on the “Lift Me Up” singer, as she hadn’t taken the stage in nearly seven years. While the Barbarian musician didn’t release any new music, her set was filled with plenty of her beloved past hits, including “Work” and “Pour It Up.” However, during the performance, fans took to social media to call attention to something else.

Fans wondered if the businesswoman mistakenly revealed her speculated second pregnancy. Dressed in a figure-hugging red bodysuit, breastplate cast, and red puffer jacket, after cameras turned to the side, fans noticed what appeared to be a baby bump. Back in May, the singer and her partner, rapper ASAP Rocky, welcomed their first child.

Although it may seem like a quick turnaround for the couple to have a second child on the way, Rocky has expressed just how much he has enjoyed fatherhood on numerous occasions. Without thinking, during her set, the singer went to rub her stomach but quickly moved her hand away as the camera panned.

That small motion was enough of a confirmation, fans needed to get run to social media.

A representative for Rihanna quickly confirmed that she is pregnant with the couple’s second child. Congrats!

Rihanna‘s Super Bowl LVII Halftime performance has come and gone, but we’re still in awe. The “Lift Me Up” singer took the Super Bowl stage to perform a medley of her chart-topping hit songs. Rihanna recently revealed she changed the setlist nearly 39 times before we saw the final product. Ahead of her performance, the Barbadian-bred mogul released a teaser trailer and dropped a limited edition NFL-themed collection with her Savage X Fenty company, only amping up anticipation.

The Grammy winner opened the award show with “B*tch Better Have My Money” while sporting an all-red outfit while suspended high in the air on a platform. Following that, she performed some of her dance-driven hits like “Where Have You Been” and “Only Girl.” She closed out her show with a thrilling performance of “Diamonds” while again suspended in the air.

While she couldn’t squeeze her nearly two-decade career into 13 minutes, fans were more than happy with what they got.

But it doesn’t end there. Ahead of her performance, Rihanna sat down with Apple Music host Nadeska to chat about this new chapter in her life, especially with becoming a new mother. She even hinted that she might be working on new music.

Rihanna noted that she was feeling “open” musically and was interested in “exploring, discovering, and creating things that are new.”

She continued, “Things that are different. Things that are off, weird, might not ever make sense to my fans [or] the people that know the music that I put out. I just wanna play. I wanna have fun. I want to have fun with music.”

Rihanna’s Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show performance turned out to be full of surprises but the biggest one was the reveal that she’s pregnant with her and ASAP Rocky’s second child. A representative for the singer confirmed as much to The Hollywood Reporter amidst rampant speculation on Twitter after the performance.

At the beginning of the set, as Rihanna appeared on a floating platform high above the field, she opened her coat during a rendition of “Bitch Better Have My Money” to reveal what looked very much like a baby bump. Of course, the quick turnaround between babies #1 and 2 had many fans flustered over whether she was normalizing postpartum baby weight — a valid cause, to be sure — or boasting a new bundle of joy.

Fortunately, none of us had to wait very long for a confirmation.

Ahead of the show, Rihanna seemingly teased the reveal in an interview with Nate Burleson on NFL+ Friday night. When asked whether she’d have any special guests during the show, she cheekily said, “I’m thinking about bringing someone.” It just turns out the “someone” was not a musical star (yet), but the new addition to Rih and Rocky’s rapidly growing family.

Fans, of course, had a field day with the news — pun intended — although some were distraught that they might not be getting that new album or tour anytime soon.

Rihanna is the “only billionaire allowed to exist,” but she wasn’t the only billionaire in attendance at Super Bowl LVII. Early in the third quarter of the Chiefs vs. Eagles game, Fox cut to a private booth at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, AZ, with Rupert Murdoch, the chairman of News Corp, and Twitter CEO Elon Musk. That’s a lot of money among the two, and a lot of bad takes (although not as many as Marjorie Taylor Greene).

“Elon Musk sitting next to Rupert Murdoch at the Super Bowl. Rightwing billionaire media moguls gotta stick together, I guess. But remember that image next time you hear Musk pretending to be anti-elitist or anti-Establishment or anti the media, or some kind of populist. Lol,” MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan tweeted, while journalist Matt Binder added, “Elon Musk was just shown on TV sitting with Rupert Murdoch at the Super Bowl, most likely asking for tips about how to run a social network with the intent to sell it off at a huge loss.” Twitter, aka MySpace 2.0, had a lot to say about the billionaire buddies.

In case you’re wondering, despite being one of the world’s wealthiest individuals (although not as wealthy as he was), Musk isn’t buying any teams, football or otherwise. “Although, if it were any team,” he tweeted, “it would be [Manchester United]. They were my fav team as a kid.” You’re safe, Washington Commanders… for now.

Ever since they won an Oscar for Good Will Hunting, it’s been an event whenever Ben Affleck and Matt Damon work together. The pair are in multiple Kevin Smith movies (including his post-Clerks career highlight, Dogma) and The Last Duel, which rules. This year, they’re starring in another film based on real-life events, with slightly better hairdos.

Amazon has released a new trailer for Air, which stars Damon as Sonny Vaccaro and Affleck as Nike co-founder Phil Knight as they try to sign Michael Jordan to a shoe deal. Like in the first trailer, His Airness only appears from behind; he’s a “mythic figure hovering above the movie and never seen,” according to the Hollywood Reporter. You probably know how this story plays out. The fun is seeing Affleck and Damon together again, the great Viola Davis as MJ’s mother, and the retro fashion.
