A Quarter Of The Hot 100 Is Holiday Songs, But Taylor Swift’s ‘Anti-Hero’ Holds On At No. 1 For A Sixth Week

Now that we’re officially in December, holiday music is coming full force. It so far hasn’t been enough to stop Taylor Swift, though: On the new Billboard Hot 100 chart dated December 10, “Anti-Hero” is No. 1 for the sixth week.

“Anti-Hero” is now just the tenth song to spend its first six weeks on the Hot 100 at No. 1. It’s also just a week away from becoming Swift’s co-longest-running No. 1 single, as “Blank Space” was previously on top for seven weeks.

The Christmas tunes sure are coming, though. Six of the top-10 songs are holiday-themed, including three in the top five: Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas,” Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree,” and Bobby Helms’ “Jingle Bell Rock.” Furthermore, in the entire Hot 100 this week, there are 25 holiday songs. That includes Lizzo’s cover of Stevie Wonder’s “Someday At Christmas,” which debuts at No. 96 this week.

Meanwhile, Billboard‘s Global 200 chart may offer a preview of what’s to come on the Hot 100 in the not-so-distant future: “All I Want For Christmas Is You” is No. 1, while “Anti-Hero” finds itself at No. 3 on that chart.

Elliot Page Has Explained Why The Time Was Right To Write A Memoir About His Story

On the 15th anniversary of the release of Juno, Elliot Page revealed the cover of his memoir, Pageboy. “Writing a book has come up a few times over the years, but it never felt right and quite frankly, it didn’t feel possible. I could barely sit still, let alone focus long enough to complete such a task. At last, I can be with myself, in this body. So, I’ve written a book about my story,” the Oscar-nominated actor wrote on Instagram.

Pageboy features a photo of the author on the cover, which once would have “felt unbearable” for Page, but “making this cover with acclaimed photographer Catherine Opie was a joyful experience that I will never forget,” he wrote.

The Umbrella Academy star also acknowledged the “increasing attacks” against trans people, “from physical violence to the banning of healthcare, and our humanity is regularly “debated” in the media. The act of writing, reading, and sharing the multitude of our experiences is an important step in standing up to those who wish to silence and harm us.” Books helped Page in his transition, and he hopes Pageboy “can help someone feel less alone, feel seen, no matter who they are or what path they are on.”

Pageboy comes out on June 6th. You can pre-order a copy here.

Bob Odenkirk Wanted ‘Better Call Saul’ To Go On Without Him After His Near-Fatal Heart Attack

When Bob Odenkirk collapsed on the set of Better Call Saul last year, the world collectively panicked at the idea of losing one of the most versatile actors ever to grace the screen.

“It was a scary day for everybody there,” Odenkirk recalled in a new clip from the season six DVD (via Fandom). “I really went down, I really turned grey. It really seemed over.” Luckily, thanks to a series of “crazy coincidences,” it was not over for Odenkirk, who was able to finish off the series and see Jimmy McGill reach his much-deserved dramatic conclusion.

Odenkirk then added that even if he didn’t survive, he still would have wanted the series to have an ending, even if the rest of the crew didn’t want to. “They would have just stopped the show if I wasn’t capable of doing it,” he said. “They wouldn’t have tried to go on. Which makes me feel bad! If that’d happened, I would have liked it if they got some actor to play him. Just to tell the story that they had written.” It would have been slightly disappointing to end the show just six episodes before the planned finale, and we probably would have never gotten to see Carol Burnett leading the campaign to bring Jimmy down.

He continued, “It wouldn’t have been great but it would have been better than nothing.” It’s true that anything without Bob Odenkirk isn’t great, but better than nothing. That’s why Little Women is such an amazing movie.

So who would have been the one to fill Saul’s perfectly polished shoes? Of course, nobody could have done it quite like Odenkirk. Perhaps they would have asked David Cross to step in for his former co-star, or gotten Bryan Cranston to try his hand at some Saul antics. Of course, they could have always gone the horrifying DeepFake route, but that would have been one of the bleakest things to ever happen. Luckily, Odenkirk was able to recover so miraculously, he’s going to get to star in even more action movies. That’s all he ever wanted.

Lady Gaga’s Dognapping Shooter Was Sentenced To 21 Years In Prison And Confronted By The Shooting Victim

In late February 2021, Lady Gaga shared that her French bulldogs, Gustav and Koji, had been stolen in Hollywood, and she offered a $500,000 reward “for their safe return.” TMZ reported that Ryan Fischer, her dog walker, was shot by the thieves. The dogs were returned the next day after someone found them tied to a pole in an alley. Fischer broke his silence while “still in recovery from a very close call with death.” He later revealed he suffered a partially collapsed lung and had to have part of his lung surgically removed.

The alleged gunman, James Howard Jackson, was released from prison “due to a clerical error” this April but recaptured in Los Angeles by August. Today (December 5), Rolling Stone reports that Jackson, 20, was sentenced to 21 years in prison during an LA court appearance. Fischer was present and had the opportunity to read his victims impact statement to Jackson.

“You shot me and left me to die, and both of our lives have changed forever,” Fischer said, per Rolling Stone. He added, “I do forgive you. With the attack, you completely altered my life. I know I can’t completely move on from the night you shot me until I said those words to you. [The dogs] were returned and returned to their mom. I don’t think I could have lived with myself if they died.”

The publication additionally relayed that Fischer cited “lung collapse after lung collapse, loss of career, friendships, aimlessly traveling the country,” physical therapy, and debt as issues he faced. Jackson had pled no contest to attempted murder with great bodily injury.

Brazil Spent The First Half Clowning South Korea To Take A 4-0 Lead

The group stage at the 2022 World Cup featured some true shockers, as pre-tournament favorites like Germany and Belgium failed to advance to the knockout stages. Among the teams that made surprising runs to the Round of 16 was South Korea, which advanced over Uruguay in stunning fashion by beating Portugal in the third match of the group stage.

Their reward for that triumph was a matchup on Monday with the odds-on favorites to win it all in Brazil, which got Neymar Jr. back from an ankle injury to bolster their star-studded lineup. It didn’t take long for Brazil to assert its dominance on Monday, as they spent the first 45 minutes of the game absolutely clowning the South Koreans as they piled up four goals.

The first of those came quickly, as Raphinha broke free on the right hand side and slid a pass across the box that managed to get through to Vinicius Jr., who took a touch and coolly popped it in the back of the net past a whole host of scrambling defenders.

Shortly after, Brazil was given a penalty kick after Richarlison beat a defender to a bouncing ball and got kicked in the foot in the box, making for an easy decision from the referee.

Neymar then strolled to the spot and made the South Korean keeper forget how to use his legs, freezing him as he calmly slotted it into the goal.

Then it was Richarlison’s turn to get in on the fun, as his heater continues this World Cup on one of the most beautiful passing sequences you will see all tournament to set up a wide open goal.

I mean, look at this, he starts the goal sequence by juggling the ball on his head before calmly turning a defender around and starting his run.

That goal even got Brazil’s coach in on their post-goal celebrations, as they danced it out on the sideline.

The final goal of the first half came on a cheeky chipped pass from Vini, who found Lucas Paqueta making a late run, knocking one past the keeper to make it 4-0 Brazil.

The first half of the game was so utterly dominant from Brazil that it felt like a scrimmage at times, not a World Cup knockout round game, but so goes life for the Brazilian squad, with South Korea finding itself in the unenviable position of a team chasing goals against a Brazil unit that is lethal in open space on a counter attack.

Bill Burr Predicted Kanye West’s Anti-Semitic Comments In A Resurfaced Standup Clip From 2017

Bill Burr saw Kanye West’s descent into anti-Semitism coming years ago. Footage from the comedian and The Mandalorian actor’s 2017 Netflix special, Walk Your Way Out, has resurfaced following the rapper’s appearance on The Alex Jones Show last week, where he out-crazied the conspiracy theorist host by claiming “I like Hitler” and “I love Nazis.”

The relevant section of the set begins with Burr crediting himself for being good at “picking out psychos,” like West. His wife was a fan and he was, too, until he watched him give an interview. “He was talking sh*t about how great he was, and there was just this look that was in his eye, and it just made me nervous,” Burr said. He continued:

Literally, a chill ran down my spine, and I just started thinking, like, ‘No! No! No!’ And I turned, and I looked. Before it even registered that it was Kanye, my first thought was, ‘Oh, thank God. Oh, thank God. It’s just a Black guy.’ ‘Thank God! It’s just a Black guy.’ Yeah, I know, you’re right to pull back. It’s right to get awkward, you don’t know where this could go. This could very easily go in a Klan-ish direction, okay? So just let me clarify. Just hear me out. I’m thinking, ‘Thank God it’s a Black guy,’ meaning, ‘Thank God that ego that is in him…’ When that thing floated down from the heavens, or the cosmos, whatever the hell Joel Osteen sh*t you believe… When that thing was floating down, it could have landed in anybody. Thank God… it landed in a Black guy. Thank God it got wrapped up in that, trapped within that. It’s safe in there. No reason to worry when it’s in there, because if that ego, however, had floated down… and landed in a blue-eyed white dude, there is no telling the damage that could have been done. You’re talking entire civilizations wiped out… worldwide famine, the moon colliding with the Earth. Thank God that ego landed in a Black guy.

The part that’s gone viral is Burr saying, “Next time Kanye is going off on himself, close your eyes, forget it’s him, and really listen to what is coming out of this guy’s mouth. He says sh*t like, ‘I’m a genius, I’m a god, I’m Shakespeare. My biggest regret is that I’ll never get to see myself perform live!’ That’s a direct quote: ‘I’ll never get to see myself perform live.’ Dude, you put that ego in a white dude, and he’d be [impersonates Hitler].”

You can watch the clip below.
