Magical bracelets that change the way we look at jewelry

Every piece of jewelry shares a story, but only Gem Joys come to life. With Gem Joy, each piece is designed to take your breath away. Classic, tasteful aesthetics mixed with a touch of whimsy make Gem Joy the perfect accessory for dreamers. Why? Because Gem Joy incorporates augmented reality technology within each of their pieces so that each wearer can experience the magic of a hummingbird or butterfly landing on their wrist. Here’s how that works:

roar-assets-auto.rbl.ms

No wires, no batteries, no charging. Gem Joy pieces are made with 14k gold, steel or rose gold bands. The gems themselves are made from high clarity domed glass and come in a variety of colors so you can choose the pendant that really speaks to you. Magenta Sky is perfect for those that are truly diving into their fantastical side, where Ocean Sand is a great option for others who want a more natural, down-to-earth look. The Nicole Necklace is the most dramatic length and can be dressed up or down – and the best part about it is that it can still be held out so that you can enjoy the magic of your pendant in the palm of your hand or on your torso.

Now, after you’ve found your perfect Gem Joy, it’s time for your imagination to run wild! Download the free companion app and point it at your gem to open a gateway to mystical lands with fantastical creatures. See a Unicorn dance across your wrist or watch a monarch butterfly prepare to land against your chest!

As the butterfly flies on to your Gem Joy, you can interact with it and learn facts about the species via the app. The app is consistently updated so that your Gem Joy continues to be a portal into new realms. But it doesn’t take you completely out of the real one. Gem Joy’s augmented reality technology is some of the most advanced on the market. It allows the real world and virtual world to collide with their tangible pieces that share mystical abilities through the eyes of the app. The pendant is pressable and scannable. You can use it to play games, or adventure into augmented reality stories by award-winning authors.

Once in the app, your Gem Joy acts as a remote control, a landing pad and a mystical beacon. Watch a hummingbird feed from a flower or channel your inner Targaryen and have a dragon breathe fire from your wrist!

But don’t just take our word for it, this is the kind of “you have to see it to believe it” sorta thing and you shouldn’t wait! It’s the perfect gift to start out the holiday season (Halloween’s part of that “season” right?). Find your statement piece and watch your imagination come to life.

‘Abbott Elementary’ Fans Share Their Predictions And Theories For Season Two

Season two of the hit comedy Abbott Elementary returned last night with a cameo from everyone’s favorite fluffy orange monster, Gritty, kicking off the new season. The highly-anticipated new season will feature more episodes than season one and a handful of holiday episodes that will surely feature some amazing bits involving the quirky teaching staff.

But besides knowing the episode counts and titles, fans are unsure where the season will go. Are Janine and Gregory going to get together? Will Tariq come back? And what exactly is hiding in that Abbott basement? After the season premiere, fans flocked to Twitter to share their favorite moments and predictions ahead of the new episodes.

Of course, every Greggory/Janine fan noticed that there have been some subtle hints at the two’s budding friendship.

But others are more interested in Gergory’s friendship with Barabara.

Other fans are sure that Janelle James, who plays the slightly unreliable principal Ava, will get her Emmy recognition next year.

Or maybe Sheryl Lee Ralph will get another Emmy?

As for Tariq, a lot of fans seem to be leaning towards the idea that Janine’s hilarious yet flaky ex will turn into an Andy Dwyer-type character who gets his act together but develops separately from Janine. This theory was big on Reddit last season, and has slowly been taking over Twitter.

Class is definitely back in session! Abbott Elementary airs on Wednesdays on ABC and Hulu.

The Essential Foods For Your Next Trip To Disney California Adventure

Disneyland Resort is separated into Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure. The easiest way to tell the difference between the theme parks is that Disneyland has the castle, the Haunted Mansion, and Galaxy’s Edge, and California Adventure is the home of Cars Land, Pixar Pier, and Avengers Campus.

They both have great food.

We already shared our food guide for Disneyland — now it’s California Adventure’s turn. Here are the five essential dishes for your next trip to California Adventure!

1. Soup in a Sourdough Bread Bowl

Available at:

Pacific Wharf Café (Pacific Wharf)

Item description:

“Clam Chowder, Served in a Bread Bowl”

The reason to order:

This was my biggest surprise of the trip. I’m not a big soup-in-bread bowl fan, especially when it’s 90 degrees outside. Have I called people who eat soup in the summer “monsters” before? No comment. But this hit the sweet spot. The soup (I got the seasonal cajun offering, but clam chowder is available year-round) is hearty and flavorsome, and the baked-fresh sourdough bread is so good that I brought some back home.

If it’s worth the struggle to fit a bread loaf into a packed suitcase, it’s definitely a dish worth ordering.

The ride it pairs best with:

The soup-bowl bread is from Boudin Bakery in San Francisco, California, and few rides at Disneyland are as uniquely Californian as Grizzly River Run. You will get soaked on the rapids ride, which should cover up the soup stains on your shirt nicely.

2. Not So Little Chicken Sandwich

Available at:

Pym Test Kitchen (Avengers Campus)

Item description:

“Fried Chicken Breast, Teriyaki and Red Chili Sauces, and Pickled Cabbage Slaw on Brioche, served with crispy Potato Bites”

The reason to order:

The $100 family-sized Pym-ini is the Instagram bait at Pym Test Kitchen, where the gimmick is everything comes in comical portions, but skip it in favor of the Not so Little Chicken Sandwich. Also, skip the tiny brioche bun and go straight to the crispy chicken schnitzel. It’s easier to eat with a fork and knife anyway, and you don’t lose anything by rejecting the bun — the chicken topped with slaw and sauces is the real showstopper.

The ride it pairs best with:

Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout! is the best ride in Avengers Campus, but I would not medically advise getting dropped in an elevator after eating a large chicken sandwich. For an easier experience, head over to Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure. There’s nothing like slinging spider-bots to get you ready for your next dish.

Speaking of…

3. Quesabirria

Available at:

Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill (Pacific Wharf)

Item description:

“Braised Beef and Cheese Tacos with Tomatillo Salsa and Consomé”

The reason to order:

Let’s not overcomplicate things here. Sometimes it’s as simple as tender beef + melty cheese + crunchy tortilla + saucy soup = good.

The ride it pairs best with:

In the introduction to “Under the Sea,” Sebastian the crab tells Ariel that “the human world is a mess” and “life under the sea is better than anything they got up there.” I agree with the first part, the human world is a mess. But unless there’s quesabirria tacos under the sea, I respectfully disagree with the second sentiment.

Be sure to let Sebastian know the next time you ride The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Undersea Adventure

4. Bacon Mac ‘n’ Cheese Cone

Available at:

Cozy Cone Motel (Cars Land)

Item description:

“Creamy Mac ‘n’ Cheese mixed with Roasted Bacon served in a Bread Cone”

The reason to order:

One of the better on-the-go snacks at California Adventure is the Bacon Mac ‘n’ Cheese Cone. The bready cone is the cup, and the plentiful portion of bacon and gooey mac and cheese will take a while to get through while you’re waiting in a long queue.

The ride it pairs best with:

Look, the thing about the Cars franchise is: I’m in my mid-30s. I’m too old to have a nostalgic affection for Lightning McQueen and Mater (Guido seems cool). But even I have to admit that Cars Land is a blast. The Route-66 theming is attentive and the E-ticket attraction, Radiator Springs Racers, will make you wonder if Cars 2 is underrated.

It’s not. But that’s how fun the ride is.

5. Jack-Jack Cookie Num Num

Available at:

Jack-Jack Cookie Num Nums (Pixar Pier)

Item description:

“Warm Chocolate Chip Cookie”

The reason to order:

Save room at the end of the day (or first thing in the morning, like me) for Jack-Jack Cookie Num Nums. You’ll lose a bit of dignity asking for “one Jack-Jack Cookie Num Nums, please,” but you’ll gain an appreciation for this desert. The chocolate was warm and melty, and the brown butter cookie has the consistency of a brownie.

It’s, well, incredible.

The ride it pairs best with:

As previously mentioned, I’m a roller coaster baby, so the Incredicoaster isn’t for me. But other people seem to like it. You do you. I’ll be chilling at Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff.

Rhea Seehorn And Vince Gilligan’s New Show Has Already Been Picked Up For Two Seasons At Apple TV+

Riding high on the success of Better Call Saul, which just aired its series finale, Vince Gilligan has already found a home for his new show starring Saul MVP and still potential Emmy winner Rhea Seehorn. According to earlier reports, Gilligan is looking to take a break from the meth world (and presumably New Mexico) after spending nearly two decades fleshing out Breaking Bad and its prequel series. The new series, which is rumored to have a Twilight Zone vibe, reportedly sparked a bidding war, and there appears to be a winner.

Apple TV+ has picked up the untitled project for a two-season order. While Gilligan is remaining tight lipped about the show and its premise, he isn’t hiding his excitement at working with Seehorn again. Via Deadline:

“After fifteen years, I figured it was time to take a break from writing antiheroes… and who’s more heroic than the brilliant Rhea Seehorn? It’s long past time she had her own show, and I feel lucky to get to work on it with her,” said Gilligan. “And what nice symmetry to be reunited with Zack Van Amburg, Jamie Erlicht and [Sony Pictures co-president] Chris Parnell! Jamie and Zack were the first two people to say yes to Breaking Bad all those years ago. They’ve built a great team at Apple, and my wonderful, long-time partners at Sony Pictures Television and I are excited to be in business with them.”

Should the reports of the new series having a sci-fi edge be true, Gilligan used to write for the X-Files, so these aren’t exactly uncharted waters. Of course, the big question is whether Jonathan Banks will play a gruff alien, and god, we hope.

Sam Smith And Kim Petras Get Seriously ‘Unholy’ On Their New Collaboration

Sam Smith’s fourth album release is officially in motion. After releasing “Love Me More” in April, “Unholy,” the lead single to the new album, arrived today. Featuring German pop star and trans icon Kim Petras, the pair had previously teased the collab back in August. Now they’ve debuted “Unholy” with an… err, spiritual live performance for BBC Radio 1.

Backed by a choral section, “Unholy” is built on a double harmonic scale and features a distinct club thump. Smith sings about an unfaithful husband who slips away to a “body shop” and Petras sings from the viewpoint of the dancer that the nefarious husband is fawning over.

Smith trekked to Jamaica to produce the song and said, “‘Unholy’… was one of the most glorious creative moments I’ve ever had as an artist. I’ve never had so much fun making a record. It was so cathartic and freeing to experiment like this and throw out the rule book. It has also been an honor to work with Kim and get to witness her brilliance. This song is about liberating oneself from the clutches of others’ secrets…” Petras said that Smith “really believed in me and encouraged me to be totally myself. I feel so honored that they chose me to be on this song.”

Saoirse Ronan Is Joining The Cast Of Steve McQueen’s Film ‘Blitz’ For Apple

Four-time Oscar nominee Saoirse Ronan has an eye for working with compelling, innovative filmmakers from Joe Wright’s Atonement to Greta Gerwig’s Lady Bird and Little Women. The actor’s most recent project continues that trend in her career. Deadline reports that Ronan has joined the film Blitz, the latest project from filmmaker Steve McQueen (Shame, 12 Years a Slave, Widows, Small Axe).

McQueen is set to write, produce, and direct Blitz, which follows London residents during the Blitz of World War II. The film will be made for Apple Original Films and New Regency. Blitz marks McQueen’s first feature film since 2018’s heist movie Widows (a freaking masterpiece with a very good dog). Since then, McQueen made the excellent anthology series Small Axe, which won John Boyega a Golden Globe for best supporting actor. McQueen has previously worked with New Regency on 12 Years a Slave, which won an Oscar for best picture and earned him a nomination for best director.

There is no word yet on who will be joining Ronan in Blitz, but given what we know (that this is an ensemble film) there will likely be plenty more famous people joining the cast. Personally, I am hoping for Michael Fassbender, who has worked with McQueen several times but not since 12 Years a Slave, to join the project.

The NYPD Escalates Its War On Drill Music, Forcing Rolling Loud To Cancel Three Rappers’ Sets

The New York Police Department and New York’s Mayor Eric Adams have been at war with the city’s bubbling underground drill rap scene for a while now. Today, the authorities appear to have escalated the conflict, requesting the Rolling Loud festival to remove three rappers from its lineup just days ahead of the event this weekend, according to the New York Times‘ longtime music reporter Joe Coscarelli. The three rappers — 22Gz, Ron Suno, and Sha Ek — have been booked to perform for months.

The Times report compares the last-minute move against the rappers to a similar request issued by the NYPD ahead of the 2019 concert, which removed 22Gz and Pop Smoke from the lineup (22Gz was allowed to perform in 2021; Pop Smoke, unfortunately, was killed in a home invasion in Los Angeles in 2020). According to the request letter sent that year, the performers in question were “affiliated with recent acts of violence citywide. The New York City Police Department believes if these individuals are allowed to perform, there will be a higher risk of violence.”

The report quotes Sha Ek’s manager Noodles, who said, “The police try to associate what he’s doing with violence and negativity. They don’t respect that he’s an artist and entertainer trying to better himself and feed his family at 19 years old. Sha Ek has performed all over the Northeast this year. The crowds at his concerts are full of kids dancing and having fun. He’s excited to keep growing his touring business and proving the police wrong.”

Likewise, Ron Suno’s manager Bo also reacted to the news. “How can a person who has no criminal record and no gang ties — the kid never even made a diss record — be denied to perform in his hometown after all his hard work?” he wondered. A representative for 22Gz confirmed his cancelation but declined to comment further; 22Gz was recently charged with attempted murder in a nightclub shooting in June.

People are sharing the things we’ll be nostalgic for in 50 years. Here are the best responses.

A Reddit user asked an innocent question about the future and it exposed a lot of the issues that people worry about today. It also highlighted the things we should appreciate while they are still around.

Klausbrusselssprouts asked the AskReddit forum, “In 50 years, what will people be nostalgic for?” and the responses went two ways. Some people mentioned the things they fear will get a lot worse in the future such as the role that technology plays in our lives and climate change.

Others saw the question as a way of appreciating the things we have now that may not survive over the next few decades.

As the old saying goes, you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone, so it’s hard to predict the things that we have today that people will feel nostalgic for in the future. Back in the late ’80s and early ’90s, nobody would have ever guessed that people would feel nostalgic for everyday experiences such as going to Blockbuster video or the sound of an old dial-up modem. But a lot of people get a warm, fuzzy feeling when they think about them today.

It’s safe to say that in 50 years, a lot of the real experiences we enjoy today will be replaced by digital technology. So take time to appreciate face-to-face interactions with other people, technology that isn’t implanted into your brain and attending events in person.

Here are 17 of the best responses to the question, “In 50 years, what will people be nostalgic for?”

15 of the funniest photos from the 2022 Comedy Pet Photo Awards

Seven years ago, the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards started highlighting some of the funniest photos of the animal kingdom, and after its runaway success, its founders created the Comedy Pet Photo Awards. The goal of the annual competition is to “promote positive awareness of animal welfare issues and celebrate the incredible and valuable contribution that pets can and do have on our lives.”

The competition’s organizers, with the help of Animal Friends Pet Insurance, backed up that pledge this year by donating £10,000 ($11,270) each to three separate charities to help improve the lives of pets and promote their work.

This year’s winner is Kenichi Morinaga of Japan with his brilliant photo of two cats sitting on a fence, cheek to cheek—or neck and neck. The photo, entitled “Boom Boom,” beat out more than 2,000 entries to win the top prize, £2,000 ($2,250) cash and a £5,000 ($5635) donation from Animal Friends Pet Insurance to go toward the animal welfare or conservation charity of the winner’s choice.

Morinaga fell in love with photographing street cats while on a backpacking trip to Europe.

“Suddenly, I became fascinated by the antics of cats out in the streets and had to photograph them,” he said in a statement. “When I returned to Japan, I continued to seek them out, they really cheer me up, especially after the last two years of the pandemic—they are so funny, even when they are doing something serious. This amazing competition reminded me that such gestures from all animals are recognized as being hilarious, cute and heart-warming not only in Japan but all over the world.”

Teacher hilariously explains why you should mind your business in her class

Teachers are pretty amazing human beings. They come in to school early to usher kids off buses, monitor the halls and cafeteria all before greeting kids walking into their classroom with a smile. Teachers also quickly get to know their students’ personalities and quirks around how they each learn best. A teacher on TikTok who goes by the screen name Teacher Chronicles22 hilariously explains how well she knows her students and why people who come to her class should just mind their business. I’ll give you a hint. Things get a bit weird in a her class but all of the children are on task.

You may be wondering what could be so weird that she’d make a whole video to tell people to mind their business. It’s simple. She has a few “wiggle worms” in her class. These are the kiddos that have a hard time sitting still when doing a quiet activity like reading or working on worksheets. They’re still learning, but they’re just a bit more kinetic than the other kids in the class. One of her students likes to turn himself into a human bowling ball while he reads his books. The visual image that comes to mind is pretty funny.

Imagine coming in to ask to borrow a stapler only to see a 7-year-old rolling around on the floor with a book while everyone else is focused on their work. You might begin to think you’ve bumped your head, or perhaps the kid has bumped his head and needs some sort of medical attention. Either way, you should probably take this teacher’s advice and just mind your business. Her class, her students, her rules. She’s got it covered. Check out the video below.
