The Eagles Traded Jalen Reagor To The Vikings For A 4th And 7th Round Pick

The 2020 NFL Draft featured a few future stars at the wide receiver position, with the likes of Justin Jefferson, CeeDee Lamb, Tee Higgins, and Chase Claypool all coming into the league in the first two rounds.

However, there were also some misses at the receiver position, with the Eagles selection of Jalen Reagor at No. 21 overall looking particularly painful in hindsight considering the Vikings nabbed Jefferson with the 22nd overall selection. Reagor has struggled in his first two seasons in the league, catching just 64 passes for 695 yards and three touchdowns in his 28 game appearances in Philadelphia. After the Eagles traded for AJ Brown to give Jalen Hurts a reliable, bonafide No. 1, Reagor became expendable and none other than those same Vikings that swooped in to take Jefferson after Regaor came calling about adding the former TCU star to their receiver room.

On Wednesday, it was announced that Reagor was being sent to Minnesota for a pair of picks, a seventh and a fourth (that could drop to a fifth if Reagor fails to meet statistical requirements).

For the Vikings, they buy low on a guy with speed and talent who never put it together in Philly, but also can put him in a lesser role where he will be a third option to Jefferson and Adam Thielen that might be better suited to his skillset. For the Eagles, they get some real draft compensation in return, as a fourth rounder isn’t a bad return on a receiver who has done little to help them so far and was no longer needed on the roster.

‘The White Lotus’ Season Two Expectations: ‘Bedroom Farce With Teeth’

We tried to tell you (back on July 9, 2022) that The White Lotus is a very good show. Fast forward a few months, and people were shaking their heads in disbelief after Murray Bartlett’s Armond dropped a revenge “present” in the suitcase of Jake Lacy’s horrible honeymooning bro. The show’s a brilliant satire on wealth and malaise and features the delightful Jennifer Coolidge as perpetually tipsy socialite Tanya McQuoid.

The sleeper hit initially appeared to be a limited series, but by popular demand, The White Lotus got a Season 2 renewal and a new label of anthology series. What should we expect from the next round of episodes? For starters, Tanya will head to Italy, where she’ll spend time at another one of The White Lotus resorts. One can (hopefully) expect plenty of passive-aggressive exchanges between characters, and while speaking to Vulture, creator/writer/director Mike White revealed that he was the drive behind the push to Italy, rather than another tropical locale. There will be the customary assortment of vacationers, including romance seekers and “three generations of Italian American men traveling back to their ancestral country.” Yet the focus this time won’t be so much on simmering conflict between guests and hosts but in exploring “jealousy” and all of its inherent byproducts. Here’s more from Vulture:

The first season focused on the way the rich perpetuate the structures of colonialism with casual cruelty, all while deluding themselves into thinking they’re good people. In season two, White has pulled back from writing about the power dynamics between guests and employees; here in Sicily, he was drawn to the myths of masculinity and femininity and to one of his recurring fascinations: the particularities of jealousy, especially of the sexual kind. White loves the types of feelings that involve wishing you were someone else or somewhere else. He chooses to describe this season as “a bedroom farce with teeth.”

In addition, White’s thrilled that he managed to funnel all of his creative energy into near creative control of this franchise. He’s excited after hoping that he’s “cracked the code,” but “I really don’t want to f*ck it up.” From there, we can expect (other than Coolidge) a brand new cast of insufferable yet fascinating characters portrayed by Aubrey Plaza, Theo James, F. Murray, Abraham, Michael Imperioli, and Haley Lu Richardson. Get your Mai Tai’s ready, y’all.

Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon Loves The Weird Idea Of Collaborating With An Oddball Comedy Favorite

Through the years, Bon Iver and/or leader Justin Vernon have collaborated with so many people, a list that includes diverse acts like Kanye West, Taylor Swift, Travis Scott, and The National. Now, though, he has been presented with the idea of a joint effort with somebody from entirely outside of the music world and it sounds like he’s in.

Today, seemingly out of nowhere, Jagjaguwar (Bon Iver’s label) tweeted, “joe pera bon iver collab please.” Justin Vernon was clearly intrigued by the concept, as he replied from his personal account, “Uh , YEAH.”

Joe Pera, of course, is the comedian and actor best known for his calm, normcore demeanor and endeavors like his (sadly) recently canceled Adult Swim show Joe Pera Talks With You. (He’s also apparently going to be the new James Bond, but that’s probably not true.)

Pera doesn’t seem to have any musical background, at least not on a professional level, but the fictionalized version of himself from Talks With You is a choir teacher, so that’s something. Also worth noting is that one of the show’s most iconic episodes, “Joe Pera Reads You The Church Announcements,” is all about him hearing The Who’s “Baba O’Riley” for the first time and developing an obsession over the song.

So, what would a Bon Iver and Pera collaboration look like? Hard to say. Maybe Vernon will get Pera to narrate an album like Jim Carrey did on The Weeknd’s Dawn FM? Maybe Pera directs a Bon Iver concert special called Bon Iver Sings With You? Whatever comes of this, let’s hope it fares better than Joe Pera Talks With You and doesn’t get axed too soon.

Latto Celebrates All The Bosses With Her Inclusive ‘It’s Givin’ Video

Latto celebrates all the boss bitches in the new video for “It’s Givin” from her album 777. “It’s Givin” was one of the album’s standouts, receiving attention on its release night for its thumping beat and motivational messaging. Latto keeps that energy (ha) with the video, creating an inclusive workspace where all women can be bosses. The video highlights several disabled women and features cameos from stars like Angie Martinez, Ella Mai, Flo Milli, and Chloe and Halle Bailey, as Latto herself leads business meetings and drapes herself over the copy machine in a heavily modified business suit with strategic cutouts that show off her assets.

The Atlanta rapper’s work ethic certain gives “boss bitch”; in the five months since the album was released, she has supported it with a remix to its standout hit “Big Energy” featuring Mariah Carey and assisted a slew of fellow entertainers with fiery guest verses. In April, she and Trina made it “Clap,” then she reminded foes to “Mind Yo Business” in June with Lakeyah. She joined Saucy Santana on his Beyonce-sampling “Booty” and appeared on albums from the likes of Nardo Wick, Calvin Harris, and Megan Thee Stallion, in addition to dropping her own provocative single supporting reproductive equality, “Pussy.”

‘Fox And Friends’ Host Steve Doocy Took Trump To Task For Hoarding Top Secret Documents At Mar-A-Lago

Trump seems to be losing allies left and right over this FBI search business and the latest Fox News pundit to jump ship is Steve Doocy.

The Fox & Friends co-host got into an exchange with South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem on air as she tried to defend Trump’s reasoning for hoarding boxes of classified material at Mar-a-Lago. The RNC recently broke with Trump, telling the former president they won’t pay any legal bills relating to the FBI investigation but some MAGA followers, like Noem, have doubled down on their support of Trump. Doocy, apparently, isn’t one of them.

“Ultimately, it comes down to why did he have all that secret stuff at Mar-a-Lago? I know his team has said they declassified it, but that’s news to the agencies that those documents belong to,” Doocy told Noem (via Raw Story). When Noem tried to respond, Doocy interrupted her with even more damning information regarding Trump’s theft.

“Governor, he had three classified documents in his desk!” Doocy said. “And the stuff Brian [Kilmeade] detailed on the floor, it shows five yellow folders marked top secret and another one that says, ‘Secret SCI’ which means sensitive compartmentalized information. Those are the biggest secrets in the world! Apparently, the former president went through them in January. Why wouldn’t he say, ‘Oh, you know what? I really need to turn that back over.’ Why did he have all of that stuff at Mar-a-Lago?”

Noem tried her best to deflect, saying it’s “important that this is transparent” and that the DOJ shouldn’t be the only ones investigating. She also claimed the public needed more information on the precedent that other presidents have followed, but Doocy was having none of it.

“Governor, I don’t think any president has ever carted off that many documents to their house after they left the presidency.”

Who knew the best explanation of why Trump’s behavior when it comes to classified intel is so disturbing would come from Fox News? Not us.

Leonardo DiCaprio Is Reportedly Single Again After Breaking Up With His 25 Year-Old Girlfriend And People Have Thoughts

Another one bites the dust! Serial monogamist Leonardo DiCaprio is apparently back on the market. According to People, the Oscar-winning actor/Brazilian president’s nemesis and model/actress Camila Morrone have called it quits after more than four years of dating.

The couple, who first met in early 2018 in Aspen, Colorado, have mostly managed to keep their relationship private, so it’s hardly surprising that reps for neither DiCaprio nor Morrone returned People’s request for comment. Morrone, who will next be seen in the Amazon series Daisy Jones & The Six, did briefly touch on her relationship with the Titanic star in a 2019 Los Angeles Times interview when she addressed their 20-plus year age difference.

“There’s so many relationships in Hollywood — and in the history of the world — where people have large age gaps,” Morrone said. “I just think anyone should be able to date who they want to date.”

But following this latest break-up, people are beginning to suspect that Leo might have a bit of David Wooderson in him, a.k.a. Matthew McConaughey’s character from Dazed and Confused, who famously proclaimed that what he loved about high school girls was that “I get older, they stay the same age.”

While it’s been more than 20 years since DiCaprio dated an outright teen, one very detailed graph showed that the actor does seem to have a very Menudo-like approach to girlfriends: Once they turn 25, they’re shortly shown the door.

Twitter users had a lot of fun with the idea that, in Leo’s mind, 25 equals death, and attempted to explain the phenomenon.

Nicole Brown Simpson’s Sister Slammed Chris Rock For Comparing The Oscars Slap To Nicole’s Murder Scene

During a recent comedy show in Phoenix, Chris Rock revealed that he had turned down an offer from the Academy to host the 2023 Oscars. While Rock appreciated the Academy attempting to make amends for the comedian being slapped by Will Smith, he had no intentions of returning to the scene of the incident. Unfortunately, Rock took things a bit too far by joking to the crowd that accepting the Oscars hosting gig would be like Nicole Brown Simpson deciding “to go back to the restaurant” where she left her glasses right before her murder.

The joke was not Rock’s best work, and the comedian has been getting dragged on social media ever since. To make matters worse, Nicole’s sister, Tanya, heard the crack, and she was understandably not thrilled. She found the joke “unfunny” and blasted Rock for comparing Nicole’s murder to being slapped. Via TMZ:

Tanya tells us his attempt at humor was distasteful to say the least, and offensive to the extended family … especially since she believes it was totally gratuitous.

What TS wants Chris — and anyone else who might want to invoke Nicole’s murder in their bit — to know is this … there are still surviving family members who are still dealing with her loss to this day, and this type of stuff hits close to home and hurts people.

However, Tanya proved she’s the bigger person by disagreeing with online comments that the Nicole joke proves that Rock deserved to be slapped by Smith. Despite Rock making a joke about her sister’s death, which she calls a “misfire,” Tanya isn’t onboard with condoning violence.

NOAH Fall Winter 2022 Collection

Style Watch
Noah

The first drop of NOAH’s Fall Winter 2022 collection is out now! The New York Streetwear label looked to the fashion of surfers, writers, runners, and urban professionals for this latest collaboration, combining the distinctive styles into a hybrid aesthetic. The results are pretty interesting, we’re not sure that the concept is completely realized, but what came out looks undeniably NOAH, and that’s never a bad thing.

The first drop consists of windbreakers, puffers, northeastern zip-ups, cardigans, long sleeves, and short sleeves with the obvious highlight being the Herringbone Jacket and sing-pleat suit pants. The brand may not have delivered on the hybridization factor, but this collection definitely offers a little something for everyone, whether you’re hitting an important meeting, or jumping on your board for a ride through the city.

Kangol Streetwear Collection

Kangol

Kangol has long been a streetwear staple, but for the most part the brand has stayed comfortably in its lane. That all changes this month with the unveiling of the brand’s debut apparel collection. This isn’t some simple capsule collection to test the waters, Kangol is going big with an extensive collection of men and women’s streetwear staples in three distinct themes inspired by the artists and personalities who made the brand popular.

The Camo collection nods to Wu-tang, Nas, and Tupac, the Y2K collection mines early 2000s era RnB music videos for inspiration, and the Acid Wash collection offers looser fits and loungier styles. All of the looks pair amazingly with a Kangol bucket hat, which is to be expected.

PUMA x Baby Phat

Baby Phat/Puma

With the resurgence of the Y2K aesthetic, you shouldn’t be surprised that a brand synonymous with that era, Baby Phat, has returned in full force. The brand that popularized the fluffy tracksuit has linked up with PUMA for a collection of comfort-focused streetwear staples including cropped jackets, fitted t-shirts, bike shorts, bralettes, platform sneakers, and fuzzy sandals all dripping in Baby Phat’s soft pink aesthetic.

The PUMA and Baby Phat branding look great together, both are feline-focused and PUMA’s sleek silhouettes look right in line with the sort of cuts Baby Phat fans will already be familiar with. The bubblegum pink aesthetic of the brand looks best on PUMA’s simple Mayze sandal and sneaker, which Baby Phat transforms into something you might see in a late-period Aaliyah video.

‘The Last Of Us’ Video Game Remake Sounds Like An Excellent Way To Prepare For The HBO Series

Last week, HBO revealed the first look at The Last of Us television show; later this week, Naughty Dog is releasing a remake of The Last of Us video game. This is not a coincidence, but it is a shrewd maneuver, because if you’ve been curious to check out the masterpiece of a video game ahead of the show, now’s a great time to do so.

The reviews of the newly-christened The Last of Us Part I have dropped and they’re near-universally positive. Maybe this isn’t a huge shock, considering the 2013 release is widely considered to be one of the greatest video games of all-time (it’s in my top-5 all time, at least), but it is surprising how essential the remake sounds.

“If you love The Last of Us and believe it’s an indisputable PlayStation classic, the PS5 remake may likely be worth the full price. The visual upgrade: Faces look less plastic and stiff. It’s like Toy Story 1 to 3, except it’s the same story,” the Washington Post games reporter Gene Park tweeted, along with a link to his glowing review. First-time player (and Polygon writer) Nicole Carpenter added, “i somehow went nearly a decade without getting spoiled on the last of us and wow yeah it’s a fuckin good game.”

Meanwhile, The Verge‘s Andrew Webster acknowledged the TV show and polarizing sequel in his review, writing, “What this remake does, though, is smooth the transition between the two games in the franchise. Think of it like sanding away (most of) the game’s rough edges. That will likely be important to those who played Part II before the original or the hypothetical brand-new audience that will be introduced to The Last of Us through HBO’s live-action adaptation next year… The Last of Us is now a franchise — and within that framework, a remake so soon actually makes a lot of sense.”

The Last of Us show will “stay pretty close” to the game, so if you’re not interested in playing The Last of Us Part I because it will spoil the plot, that makes sense. For everyone else, though, it sounds like it’s worth the 70 bucks.

The Last of Us premieres on HBO in 2023.
