Kooky MAGA Lawyer Lin Wood Has Some, Um, Interesting Theories About The Moon Landing And The Earth Being Flat

Rudy Giuliani isn’t the only nutty MAGA lawyer. L. Lin Wood, who Wikipedia accurately describes as “an American attorney and conspiracy theorist,” fiercely believes that the 2020 presidential election was rigged against Donald Trump and that Marjorie Taylor Greene is under the “influence of the devil” (that last one actually makes sense…). His latest kooky theory involves NASA, the moon landing, and the Earth being flat.

“People lie. Scientists lie. Government agencies (including NASA) lie. God does not lie. The Holy Bible is the Word of God. Every word in the Holy Bible is true. Is the Earth flat or is it a spinning ball??? The answer is found in the Holy Bible. Do the research. Connect the dots. Draw your conclusion,” Wood wrote on far-right favorite app Telegram.

Conclusion drawn: no.

Wood then turned his attention to the moon landing.

“Ever wonder how this lunar dune buggy below got to the surface of the moon??? I don’t recall the lunar landing module having a truck in which it could fit!!! POOF!!! It was there. Like magic!!! Illusions and characters. Kinda like what Disney produces.”

Wood wasn’t done spewing his nonsense. In response to a video of astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin receiving a congratulatory phone call from President Richard Nixon, he wrote, “Talk about a long, long, long distance call!!! Only a slight delay between conversations by those on the ‘telephone’ call!!! Excellent clarity, too!!! Now at age 69, I wonder if I got played at age 16. Do you think you might have also gotten played??? P.S. Nixon sure did know how to read a good script!!!” Yes, because if there’s one thing Nixon is known for, it’s being good on camera.

Never trust a lawyer — or anyone, really — who uses that many exclamation points.

Fans Aren’t Pleased With Britney Spears’ Mom Commenting On Spears’ Wedding Post

When news about Britney Spears and Sam Asghari’s wedding first surfaced on Thursday, June 9 (the day of the wedding), it was reported that some key members of Spears’ family — father Jamie, mother Lynne, and sister Jamie Lynn — would not be attending the ceremony (although Spears’ brother Bryan was expected to be there). Indeed, the aforementioned family members were in none of the photos that surfaced from the ceremony and reception. That makes sense considering all the unflattering things Spears has had to say about them in recent years.

Despite that, Spears’ mother commented on one of Spears’ Instagram posts about the wedding from this weekend. She wrote, “You look radiant and so happy! Your wedding is the ‘Dream’ wedding! And having it at your home makes it so sentimental and special! I am soooo happy for you! I love you!”

Fans were not happy about that, as Lynne’s comment got ratioed, meaning the number of responding comments greatly outweighed the amount of likes Lynne’s comment got.

One user responded, “Read the room Lynne. You abandoned this woman in her time of need. Your own g*ddamn daughter! Go pedal your pyramid scheme products and leave her alone on her happy day. How dare you, truly.” Another wrote, “You’re a snake! And so is your other daughter, the talentless one.” Somebody else chimed in, “You broke Britneys heart and you want to congratulate her maybe one day she can forgive you but she is forever traumatized of what you, your husband and evil little daughter has done to her and her children. I couldn’t forgive parents like you and Jamie two Narcassist money hungry enemy loving people. At least she can have a friendship with Bryan her big brother 1 person from her birth family. Sad.”

Back in November 2021, Spears wrote of her mother, “My dad may have started the conservatorship 13 years ago .. but what people don’t know is is that my mom is the one who gave him the idea !!!! I will never get those years back …. she secretly ruined my life.”

Britney Spears Is Ecstatic In Her First Posts About Her Wedding: ‘The Ceremony Was A Dream’

Towards the end of last week, reports surfaced that Britney Spears and Sam Asghari were getting married. Those reports were quickly confirmed to be true when photos from the event surfaced (and when Spears’ ex-husband tried to crash the ceremony). Now, Spears herself has offered her thoughts on the big day and naturally, she’s over the moon.

She posted about the wedding and reception — both of which took place on Thursday, June 9 — on many occasions over the weekend. In the most overarching of the posts, Spears wrote:

I was so nervous all morning but then at 2:00 pm it really hit me … WE’RE GETTING MARRIED !!! I had a panic attack and then got it together … the crew who created our home into literally a dream castle were fantastic !!! The ceremony was a dream and the party was even better !!! So many incredible people came to our wedding and I’m still in shock !!! [Drew Barrymore] my girl crush and [Selena Gomez] who btw is way prettier in person if that’s possible both came !!! I was speechless … I kissed [Madonna] again [winking emojis] and we danced into the night with [Paris Hilton] … Thank you [Donatella Versace] for designing my dress … I felt so beautiful … Thank you also to [Stephanie Gottlieb] [Charlotte Tilbury] and [Sofia Tilbury] for my jewelry and makeup !!! I think we all fell on the dance floor at least 2 times !!! I mean come on … we were all VOGUING !!! [Asghari] I LOVE YOU !!!”

In another post, Spears declared, “Fairytales are real.”

Find Spears’ wedding posts below. Asghari shared a couple of his own posts, too, so find those below as well.

Amber Heard Criticized The Unfair Treatment She Received On Social Media In Her First Interview Since The Depp V. Heard Verdict

In her first sit-down interview since being found guilty of defamation against her ex-husband Johnny Depp, Amber Heard discussed the jury’s decision.

“I don’t blame [the jury]. I actually understand. He’s a beloved character and people feel they know him. He’s a fantastic actor,” the Aquaman actress, who was ordered to pay $10 million in compensatory damages and $350,000 in punitive damages to Depp, told NBC’s Savannah Guthrie about the verdict.

Heard also criticized the role that social media played in the six-week trial.

“I don’t care what one thinks about me or what judgments you want to make about what happened in the privacy of my own home, in my marriage, behind closed doors. I don’t presume the average person should know those things. And so I don’t take it personally. But even somebody who is sure I’m deserving of all this hate and vitriol, even if you think that I’m lying, you still couldn’t look me in the eye and tell me that you think on social media there’s been a fair representation. You cannot tell me that you think that this has been fair.”

Heard testified that she received “hundreds of death threats” during the trial. “People mocking my testimony about being assaulted… I hope no one has to go through something like this. I just want Johnny to leave me alone,” she said.

Amber Heard’s interview with Guthrie (whose husband consulted for the legal team of the Pirates of the Caribbean star) will air Tuesday and Wednesday on TODAY, followed by an hour-long special on Friday on Dateline. You can watch a preview below.

What’s Popular On Streaming Right Now

Multiple times per week, our TV and film experts will list the most important ten streaming selections for you to pop into your queues. We’re not strictly operating upon reviews or accrued streaming clicks (although yes, we’ve scoured the streaming site charts and ratings) but, instead, upon those selections that are really worth noticing amid the churning sea of content. There’s a lot out there, after all, and your time is valuable.

TIE: 10. First Kill (Netflix series)

It’s another teenage vampire story, but this one revolves around a lesbian romance. Based upon creator V.E. Schwab’s short story, this one follows Juliette, a young vamp who’s attempting to please her parents by completing a rite of passage. In other words, she must take her first human life, but love gets in the way. (I hate it when that happens.) This show’s a big hit on social media already upon release, so expect it to shoot further up the streaming charts.

TIE: 10. Angelyne (Peacock series)

Emmy Rossum left Shameless and did a 180 while hopping aboard a shooting star and climbing into a pink sports car. That’s only part of the illusion of creating the character. The rest is down to makeup, wigs, a breastplate, and plenty of tight dresses and high heels, made iconic in its particular combination by the iconic Los Angeles billboard queen of the 1980s. Enjoy the lava and crystals but don’t forget about the intricately layered exploration of fame, identity, and trauma.

9. Hacks (HBO Max series)

The season finale will get you on this show, which hasn’t yet been renewed for a third round, but c’mon, give us more. Jean Smart and her chainsaw are worth everything, and her comedienne has a righteously good time ruining the life of Hannah Einbinder’s Ava. They’re incredible foils to each other, but somehow, this show is also full of (begrudging) heart while two women leave all of Vegas behind but still can’t get rid of their beefs. The twin voices of two generations simply can’t quit each other, or can they?

8. Obi-Wan Kenobi (Disney+ series)

This show slowed in its momentum since last week, even after a certain cutie pie stole the show. Timelinewise, expect things to pick up a decade after the events of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith and following the downward spiral of Anakin Skywalker. Yep, Hayden Christiansen is onboard alongside Ewan McGregor. It’s probably not possible to get some Baby Yoda up in here, but hey, would anyone really complain?

7. Irma Vep (HBO series on HBO Max)

Alicia Vikander portrays a movie star (Mira) with her career and personal life in tatters. She heads over to France to remake Les Vampires as “Irma Vep,” and this is a twisty tale that paints itself against a crime-thriller backdrop. Will she be able to distinguish herself from her character, or will reality and fiction merge beyond recognition? You might also get sucked into this examination of art and life, so set some aside if you plan to knock this ongoing series out.

6. Stranger Things (Netflix series)

Well, everyone who’s already binged this thing is still waiting for the rest of the season to arrive, but if you haven’t caught up yet on the Upside Down, dive in for the extra-long-episode extravaganza. This batch of installments has people appreciating Kate Bush again, and Robert Engund is also here for some extra 1980s vibes. If you forgot what happened years ago on this show, we’ve got you covered there as well. The good news: the gang is all back, at least for now.

5. Top Gun (Paramount movie streaming on Paramount+)

Val Kilmer’s Iceman is still legend, as is Tom Cruise’s need for speed. The sequel (Top Gun: Maverick, obviously) has crushed all of the box office records in its path so far with no signs of slowing down. And people are streaming the original like crazy for good measure. Yep, fast jets still rule, but you can always check out the O.G. shirtless volleyball game. When you’re done with that task, maybe consider this Tarantino monologue and watch it all again.

4. The Staircase (HBO Max series)

The limited series finale doesn’t offer definitive answers, but neither does the reality of this murder case that put Michael Peterson behind bars. Peterson is not a fan of this show, but it’s a stunning and incredible watch, disturbing at times but delivering an acting masterclass from Colin Firth while dramatizing the story in the O.G. true crime classic. Toni Collette goes through the paces in some grueling reenactment scenes, and both Sophie Turner and Parker Posey hold their own among a talented ensemble cast.

3. Ms. Marvel (HBO Max series)

Ms. Marvel This show brings us the perfect actress, Iman Vallani, for the leading gig of portraying Kamala Khan. She takes us on a fun-filled revamp of her character’s comic character, and this show is a roaring ball of glee that will help to set up The Marvels, which will not only include Kamala and Carol but also Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Paris) who began in WandaVision. The MCU’s fun and breezy again, and we’ll take it.

2. The Boys (Amazon Prime series)

Yes yes, those boys are back with a vengeance. That’s not all, though. Homelander has fully lost his Supe mind while terrorizing everyone especially The Deep, who went through some truly revolting paces to get back into The Seven. That particular scene reverberated into odd places, and just wait until everyone gets a whiff of Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy. People will both love and hate the character, who’s a spot-on satire of Captain America.

1. Peaky Blinders (BBC One/Netflix series)

Tommy fookin’ Shelby’s back to kick ass and always look cool while doing so. Cillian Murphy’s a marvelous frontman, and while everyone across the pond has already had a shot at watching this final season, it’s now time for The Yanks to catch up. Tommy is gearing up to head towards North America, so everything’s coming full circle, and Helen McRory’s death will weigh heavily on the audience in the meantime. We’re getting a half-dozen episodes before this series officially ends. Catch up on all the questions that still need to be answering, and brush up on your cockney rhyming slang while waiting for (hopeful) news of a spinoff or movie.

Joe Maddon Got A Mohawk Haircut To Motivate The Angels The Day He Got Fired

The Los Angeles Angels fired manager Joe Maddon on Wednesday after the team lost its 12th straight game, dropping to 27-29 on the season. Maddon was in his third season back with the Angels (where he started his managerial career before his success with the Rays and Cubs), but had never been able to coax the same level of success in L.A. that he had in his previous two stops, despite the presence of two of the games biggest stars.

On Sunday, prior to the Sunday Night Baseball broadcast on ESPN, Tim Kurkjian provided some more details and color behind Maddon’s firing, including an anecdote that might go down as an all-timer: Maddon had decided to cut his hair into a mohawk that day to try and motivate the Angels, but the team never saw it because Maddon got fired at his house before he ever got to see the team.

In the grand scheme of things, Maddon will be fine, but there are few “down bad” moments in recent sports history that would top cutting your hair into a mohawk to try and rally your team, only to get fired before you even get that chance. Instead of revealing that haircut to lighten the mood in the locker room, he had to deliver the news to his family that he got fired while sporting a mohawk.

Donald Trump May Have Accidentally Accused Ivanka Of Committing Perjury With The Jan. 6 Committee, According To Mary Trump

The Jan. 6 committee hearings kicked off on Thursday, and they were an instant ratings powerhouse. Super Bowl-sized crowds tuned into numerous networks to watch as House members began to lay out their case that Donald Trump knowingly pushed 2020 election lies, all while allies coordinated with various groups to descend upon D.C.

One of the bombshells found a deer-in-headlights Ivanka Trump, with careful wording, admitting she believed then-Attorney General Bill Barr’s belief that there was no fraud. The next day her father, in a less carefully worded statement, pushed back, claiming Ivanka didn’t know what she was talking about and was “only trying to be respectful” to Barr, whom he said “sucked!”

Was he essentially — and perhaps accidentally — calling his daughter a liar? Who therefore lied under oath? That’s what Mary Trump, the former president’s niece and one of his sharpest and fiercest critics claimed when appearing Sunday on MSNBC.

“I think Ivanka walked a very fine line,” Mary said. “She did not say anything necessarily incendiary but, as we thought would happen, she decided she needed to come down on the side of what the facts support.”

Mary said pointed out that “Donald didn’t entirely throw her under the bus.” Instead he did something perhaps worse. “But I think it’s really important to point out the fact he said that she checked out, although that is kind of rude, isn’t really the issue. He is accusing her of perjury, really.”

Host Alex Witt responded, “That’s interesting, I hadn’t read it that way.”

Trump is famously not great with words, as witness that time he accidentally told the truth about losing the 2020 election. But his former close associates have indicated that he’ll absolutely throw his beloved kids under the bus to save his hide. Meanwhile, Donald, Don Jr., and Ivanka will all be doing something else together: spending hours sitting for a deposition pertaining to the New York State investigation into the family business’ dealings.

You can watch their relative point out what Donald inadvertently did in the video below.

Kyle Higashioka Hit A Home Run On A Hysterical 35 MPH Pitch From A Cubs First Baseman

The Chicago Cubs got absolutely shelled on Sunday afternoon in Yankee Stadium, as New York continued its assault of opposing pitchers, mashing four more home runs as they extended their league lead in dingers on the season.

Two of those long balls came off of the bat of catcher Kyle Higashioka, including an exclamation point on one of the funniest home runs you’ll see all season. The Cubs, trailing 17-4, trotted first baseman Frank Schwindel out to the mound in the latest example of a position player getting thrown to the wolves in a blowout. Schwindel wasn’t exactly throwing gas, as his pitches looked more like they belonged on a slow pitch softball field than a Major League Baseball diamond.

When Schwindel lobbed a 35 mile per hour (!!!) eephus pitch up there to Higashioka, the big man turned and burned on it, launching it into the left field bleachers in a pretty incredible display of power.

It is easier to create home run power when you square up a fastball, as speed coming in means speed going out, but this one was all Higashioka as Schwindel wasn’t giving him any help in the power department with that lob. It’s the slowest recorded pitch to ever be hit for a home run, per Codify Baseball, and truly was something to behold.

What We Learned From The 2022 Xbox And Bethesda Showcase

As the month of video game reveals, trailers, and announcements continue we now move on to the Xbox and Bethesda showcase, where Microsoft got to show everything it has coming to the world of video games over the next 12 months. This was one of Microsoft’s most streamlined presentations yet with a little over an hour and a half of games to look at. What made it particularly enjoyable was how it cut out a lot of the fluff that slowed down previous presentations. There were fewer people talking, fewer trade show-like announcements, and more video games.

As for the video games themselves, there were very few weak points or games that felt like they might not be up to snuff. Everything seemed like something that was worth checking out, and considering Xbox’s policy of releasing games day one on Game Pass it’s hard to argue against playing any of the games shown. With that in mind, we’re focusing on what we felt were some of the bigger or more important announcements that were shown during the presentation.

Starfield

This was the elephant in the room throughout the presentation. Everyone knew an update for Starfield was coming and after its recent delay we all wanted a big hook to tell us why we should still be interested in the game. There are always going to be people who play a game made by Bethesda Game Studios no matter what it is, but the rest of us definitely needed something to prove that Starfield wasn’t going to be the next big AAA flop.

They delivered. This doesn’t mean that the game is going to be good or that it’s going to release in a perfect state, but Xbox and Bethesda did a great job in showing why it is that Starfield is going to be interesting. Yes, the big hook of a “massive universe to explore” has burnt many of us before, but the idea of exploring space in the universe that is being shown off sounds really enticing. The space travel is intriguing, the space combat looks fun, and every sci-fi element is hitting the right notes. Obviously, we need to see how the game looks when it launches to make any final judgments, but after the delay, we’re happy to see a potentially exciting game.

Activision Blizzard

It has been quite a two years for Activision Blizzard. Not only has their release of new games and content slowed down to a crawl, but internal misconduct allegations, the company being sold, and multiple leaders leaving the company has made development on games a challenge.

Despite this, they were still able to get two major announcements out there during the showcase. Overwatch 2 has an early access release date and Diablo IV has one set for 2023. After having so many of their games feel like they were in endless development it has to feel great for those developers to finally have some game releases on the horizon. Especially when those two releases in particular are from highly anticipated franchises like Overwatch and Diablo.

Redfall

The other major delay from Bethesda/Xbox, Redfall, led off the entire showcase with a gameplay trailer of its own. The game is a hero shooter where the enemies are vampires and cultists. That may sound basic, but the gameplay didn’t feel that way with the start of the trailer being a really intense gunfight between one of the major characters and some hard-to-kill vampires. The cultists provide an opportunity for some more traditional shooter action, but it looks like gunplay is going to be more than the usual pump bullets into the enemy until they stop moving type games we’ve seen in the past.

The big selling point of the game is that instead of being a multiplayer hero shooter, which is everywhere these days, it’s a story-focused one instead. That said, it doesn’t look all that fun to play on your own. This feels like one of those games where it’s going to be at its most fun when with a group of friends. That said, Arkane Austin is the studio behind it and their work on games like Prey and Dishonored tells us this is a team capable of making a strong single-player game. It has a 2023 release date so we shouldn’t have to wait too much longer to check it out.

Persona and reaching out to Japan

It is hard to put into words just how shocking it was to see Persona, a franchise that has been pretty much a guaranteed exclusive on the PlayStation, finally appearing on the Xbox. It also is a sign of a very important step for Microsoft and the Xbox, and that’s trying to fix the issues they’ve been having in Japan ever since their first console launched there in 2002. Microsoft has struggled to make much headway among Japanese gamers, for a variety of reasons, but one of the big ones is a lack of Japanese developed video games.

During the presentation, not only did Microsoft announce that Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 5 Royal, are all coming to the Xbox but they’re also entering a partnership with legendary Japanese developer, Hideo Kojima.

None of this is going to fix their relationship with Japan overnight, but Microsoft has been getting trounced in sales over there for two decades. When the Series S outsold the PS5 in Japan, it was the first time that had happened in eight years. Any type of outreach is necessary and it’s good to see they haven’t abandoned the region.

Game Pass

One thing that was notable throughout the presentation was how often Microsoft mentioned that these games were available on Game Pass day one. It’s been made clear many times before, so we don’t need to rehash it, but this is the business model Microsoft is going to continue moving forward with. The ability to play these games immediately through a service is always going to be extremely appealing because even someone that was not interested in a single game shown today will have a way to try them out. That is always going to be a strong sell for developers to continue putting their games on the service.

The next step for Xbox and Bethesda will of course be releasing their games. Microsoft has spent years buying development studios and promising new games, but so far their track record of consistent releases is spotty at best. They’ve had some absolute gems make no mistake about it, but with so many delays it’s made them inconsistent. Game Pass is a great service and will continue to be the reason to own an Xbox, but that doesn’t make the delays any less frustrating.

Small Screens: ‘NBA Finals’ Game 4 Review

Confrontation, family ties, and what is beginning to feel like a never-ending game of cat and mouse continued in ‘Game 4’ of NBA Finals.

Co-director Ime Udoka is new to this kind of Adam Silver production, but the director he’s sharing the stage with, Steve Kerr, isn’t, and Kerr paired with Silver have been known for their drawn out series in the past. This is not to knock the pacing of Finals in its entirety, because there has been some interesting off-beat action unfolding, only to point out that the major quibble with Conference Finals and Playoffs before it was that much of the action felt lopsided and entirely too fast. For Finals to swing so far in the opposite direction is clearly a nod to viewers but what have thus far saved it from being a slog are the more interesting storylines and conflicts that have been given the time and space to develop.

In ‘Game 4’ the most notable POV shift was to the series celebrated hero, Steph Curry (Steph Curry) who, after a slow burn build-up that was handled deftly by Kerr, erupted in this episode. Steph Curry stepped out into the ‘Celtics’ headquarters literally screaming. He shouted at the crowd, still decked out in costumes of green that resembled all the hues in an early summer forest, after heaving back-to-back “threes” through that brooding, inanimate apparatus both groups have shown episode after episode they are striving to protect.

Steph Curry has been a character, up to now, that appeared to be content to carry the star protagonist’s burden without drawing the same kind of attention to himself that his co-stars have been, and Finals has done a decent job in getting us to think it hadn’t been wearing on him at all. It may be the kind of accelerated bildungsroman Silver has given us before, to varying degrees of success — I think of Aaron Gordon (Aaron Gordon) in NBA All-Star Chicago: Dunk Contest and the way that character aged before our very eyes over the span of 20 or so tense, self-aware minutes, akin to the antagonist in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade’s misplace choice in drinking chalice — but carried in the quiet, watchful performance of Steph Curry, his sudden bombast in ‘Game 4’ is believable.

We watch him make eye contact with a raving, green garbed man in the middle distance and we understand immediately that he has carried this series out of pride and, to a degree, a personal fixation on routine and that he is tired. Tired of being the failsafe, the good-natured workaholic, “old reliable”, and while that burden is a choice he understands, he won’t be bullied by a stadium’s worth of adults who pay solemn allegiance to a leprechaun.

Incensed, he flung the symbolic orange orb of human folly through the circle of protection 43 times.

This energy was picked up by actor-director, Steve Kerr, who barreled onto the parquet living room floor set of the ‘Celtics’ home demanding an act of “travel” had been committed. As an aside, it’s been very well-done by Finals’ writers to implement language and terminology unique to this universe so fluidly, without any clunky explainers.

“The heart on that man is incredible,” Klay Thompson (Klay Thompson) later said of his co-star, in a post-episode production that can still be counted as a cinematic extension of Finals, “The things he does, we kind of take for granted at times, to go out there and put us on his back. We’ve got to help him out on Monday.”

Klay Thompson’s allusion to help “on Monday” of course refers to the next episode of NBA Finals (9pm ET/6pm PT), but before we get to ‘Game 5’ and whether the notes of emotion and intensity evident in Steph Curry’s arc remain at the forefront or revert to smoldering just under his exterior, we have to sift through some of the more confusing beats of ‘Game 4’.

For one, an actor who looked as if he may have just walked in from outside the studio to substitute as an extra, Nemanja Bjelica (Nemanja Bjelica), had a string of confusing moments three quarters of the way through ‘Game 4’. But upon rewatch, it appears he had been there all along.

It makes sense that Klay Thompson would allude to the absence of those around Steph Curry in ‘Game 4’ via a promise to be there in the next episode, given the real-time subversion on display by the person we’ve come to understand to be the final part of a ‘Warriors’ trifecta. Draymond Green (Draymond Green), at this point, can be considered an active saboteur. He continued the storyline that was building across ‘Game 2’ and ‘Game 3’ where it seemed he was hapless against what the bigger, better familial dynamics of the ‘Celtics’ had. We understand that this is a character not accustomed to being bullied or left behind, and yet we are seeing it again and again. Draymond Green has so far responded by retreating into himself, seeking refuge in putting a great distance between himself and the band he’s meant to be an important part of, but ‘Game 4’ saw this behavior heightened enough that the actor’s mother gave some thought to a theory in-line with one floated in my ‘Game 3’ review, that this is an alternate timeline version of the character. It’s a theory that holds water, mainly because in past Silver productions we’ve not seen this kind of drastic shift from a character. Though with the recent commercial flops of such sci-fi productions like Raised By Wolves and Terminator: Dark Fate, it’s a risky move for a studio with perennial broadcast concerns on the brain, echoed by the narrators at one point who cautioned that a late-episode performance by one of the ‘Celtics’ group was, “Understanding your customers”.

While the narration of Finals continues to work in the abstract, a running commentary removed from the action of the series and the motives of its characters (for example, yelling “Bang!” as abruptly as someone might sneeze), one did allude to not being able to “wait for the podcast” that Draymond Green would deliver. It’s another experimental move by Silver which feels, a little, like a move toward the literary tool of autofiction.

Though a lot of the storyline of ‘Game 4’ was centered around the ‘Warriors’ characters, their shortcomings and motivations, it left off with a feeling that the ‘Celtics’ side will be seeking their due next episode. With the setting due for another change, back to the more demure framing of what’s been Finals’ interpretation of San Francisco, let’s hope that the most memorable thing in that reveal doesn’t turn out to be how much we miss the clamor and strain of all those incensed green people.
