Jason Momoa Will Star In ‘Shots! Shots! Shots!’ Which Sounds Like A Very Jason Momoa Movie

Jason Momoa is not slowing down anytime soon. The actor recently wrapped up filming the upcoming Aquaman sequel which is slated for release next spring. Currently, he is filming the latest Fast And Furious installment in London. Oh, and he also is set to star in the new Minecraft movie, if that ever happens. Next up, he will be in Shots! Shots! Shots! which is a movie, to be clear.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Momoa has been cast in the upcoming Universal Pictures action-comedy written by Matt Mider and Kevin Burrows, who recently worked together on the animated series Gentleman Lobsters and the 2018 teen comedy The Package. Momoa is also set to produce alongside Jeff Fierson, Dan Lin, and Jonathan Eirich.

There are no plot details at the moment (or even a director attached to the project) though the movie is expected to be an action-adventure/mystery flick for the whole family. Seeing as “family” is kinda Momoa’s whole thing, that would make sense, in addition to the success of Channing Tatum and Sandra Bullock’s family-friendly hit The Lost City.

Shots! Shots! Shots! also has nothing to do with the LMFAO song of the same name (probably) and hopefully nothing to do with the similarly titled Bodies Bodies Bodies. Though think of the power those movies would have if they were in the same universe. Filming is expected to begin later this year.

Jessica Chastain Has A Surprise Role As Maryanne Trump In ‘Armageddon Time’

The latest news from the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, unfortunately, involves a certain former president who lost the popular vote twice.

Reports from the first screening of director James Gray’s Armageddon Time say that Jessica Chastain makes a surprise appearance in the film as Maryanne Trump, Donald Trump’s older sister. Focus Features describes the 1980s set Armageddon Time as “a deeply personal coming-of-age story about the strength of family and the generational pursuit of the American Dream.” The film, which is inspired by Gray’s own life, stars Anthony Hopkins, Anne Hathaway, and Jeremy Strong.

Maryanne Trump, now 85, is an attorney and a retired United States federal judge. Variety described Chastain’s scene as follows:

Chastain’s role is small but effective. As Maryanne Trump, she appears as a guest lecturer at an austere private school where the film’s young protagonist, Paul (Banks Repeta), matriculates mid-film. She lectures the privileged boys and girls about the value of ambition in a Phyllis Schlafly-esque beehive. Trump worked as a United States Attorney in the 1970s in New Jersey, and was named by President Ronald Reagan to a seat on the U.S. District Court for New Jersey in 1983. She was named to the Third Circuit Court of Appeals in 1999.

Chastain’s small role was originally meant for Cate Blanchett, who dropped out of the film for unknown reasons.

Scandal-Plagued Loser Madison Cawthorn Is Vowing A ‘Dark MAGA’ Takeover Following His Humiliating Defeat

Scandal-plagued “entitled little boy” Madison Cawthorn took to Instagram for the first time since conceding the Republican primary for North Carolina’s 11th Congressional District to Chuck Edwards on Tuesday to spread the word about “dark MAGA.”

The “post-alt-right online aesthetic movement” (not to be confused with MAGA After Dark) is a “hardening of the pro-Trump online space” that “provides openings for bad actors, creating multiple fronts for entryism and networking among a broad swathe of violent extremist actors,” according to the Global Network on Extremism & Technology.

Cawthorn used it as a pledge to his followers and a warning to the haters and losers out there, “The time for gentile politics as usual has come to an end. It’s time for the rise of the new right, it’s time for Dark MAGA to truly take command,” he wrote. “We have an enemy to defeat, but we will never be able to defeat them until we defeat the cowardly and weak members of our own party. Their days are numbered. We are coming.”

Cawthorn also singled out the “America First Patriots” who “came to my defense when it was not politically profitable,” including Trump, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Matt Gaetz, Steve Bannon, “the great Charlie Kirk” (lol), and Tucker Carlson. If you ever find yourself on a list with Taylor Greene, Gaetz, and Tucker, it’s time to rethink some life choices.

The typo in the post did not go unnoticed:

It Turns Out Kellyanne Conway Equated Her Husband’s Mean Trump Tweets With Infidelity: ‘He Was Cheating By Tweeting’

Another former Trump crony is hoping to make money from a White House tell-all and this time it’s campaign manager and “alternative facts” spin woman Kellyanne Conway.

Conway was instrumental in Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and she remained a top advisor of the former president during his four years in office but, according to her new memoir, her job put a real strain on her marriage. Why? Because her husband, George Conway, couldn’t stand her boss and he wasn’t shy about hopping onto Twitter to let the world know it.

In excerpts from Conway’s book (via People), Trump’s henchwoman tries to excuse away her own complicity in playing babysitter to the tyrant-in-chief while skewering her husband for “cheating” on her by tweeting insults about Trump and his inner circle. No, really.

“George was spending chunks of time in New York at the firm, where he voluntarily went from partner to an of-counsel role, spending his nights alone at our house in Alpine, New Jersey, 240 miles away from D.C.” Conway writes of the state of her marriage in 2018. “The numbers don’t lie. During this time, the frequency and ferocity of his tweets accelerated. Clearly, he was cheating by tweeting. I was having a hard time competing with his new fling.”

Conway also shares how her husband’s disapproval of a man who was actively separating families and putting kids in cages at the time also felt like a betrayal of their marriage vows.

“His daily deluge of insults-by-tweet against my boss violated our marriage vows to ‘love, honor, and cherish’ each other,” she continues. “On one side was my marriage and my husband. On the other was my job and my boss. I was able to keep these things separate and in perspective. George should have, too, but it seemed the flood of reaction and attention he was receiving was magnetic and irresistible.”

According to Conway, both Ivanka and Melania Trump went to bat for her during this very difficult time. Ivanka recommended the names of two couple’s therapists she thought the Conways should try, telling her father’s adviser, “I am in a family of Democrats. I get it.” (This comment referred to Ivanka’s in-laws and other Kushner relatives.) Meanwhile, Melania stood up for Conway against Trump after a handful of tweets from Mr. Conway disparaging the president left him angry and looking for someone to blame.

In another excerpt, Conway recalled this interaction: “‘Can you believe this?’ Trump said, referring to George’s recent eruptions. ‘This guy is nasty. He won’t stop. And it’s our Kellyanne. She’s my top person. She knows a lot, too! What are we going to do?’ Melania’s calm voice piped in immediately as my mouth closed and my eyes widened. ‘Donald,’ she said, ‘this is not her fault. And she is a big girl. Strong and confident.’ Melania wasn’t done. ‘We don’t control our husbands—and you don’t control us!’”

Weirdly enough, the Conways marriage seems to have survived the turmoil of the Trump years. Whether it makes it past this memoir’s sell date is another question.

A Fox News Guest Called Out The Network Live On-Air For Pushing Dangerous Racist Rhetoric

As Fox News (and more specifically, Tucker Carlson) continues to face criticism for pushing the Great Replacement Theory cited in the Buffalo mass shooter’s manifesto, political strategist Kristal Knight took things a step further by calling out the network directly to its face.

While appearing as a guest on The Faulkner Focus on Thursday morning, Knight was asked about Elon Musk vowing to never vote for Democrats again because it’s now the “party of division & hate.” She found his comments “interesting” considering the Republican Party has been getting behind the Big Lie, and oh yeah, promoting the Great Replacement theory on a certain news network. Via Mediaite:

“We also have to remember the ‘Great Replacement’ theory that has been spewed on this network alone, and the Buffalo shooter referenced it. These are all remnants of the Republican party. That’s the party of hate.”

Host Harris Faulkner turned the show over to conservative journalist Charlie Hurt who admonished Knight for calling out Fox, yet offered no counter-argument to her remarks. “I just think the idea of taking a horrible, horrible, unthinkable tragedy like what we saw in Buffalo, New York and trying to advance a partisan political agenda off of it is just beyond reprehensible to me,” Hurt said.

As for Carlson, he’s attempted to distance himself from the Buffalo shooting by acting like he doesn’t know what replacement theory is now. “You’ve heard a lot about the great replacement theory recently. It’s everywhere in the last two days and we’re still not sure exactly what it is,” Carlson actually had the gall to say on the Tuesday night episode of his show.

However, Carlson can’t hide the clips showing him promoting replacement theory and bringing on proponents of the racist theory on his show. Unfortunately, Fox News audiences aren’t big on evidence and Carlson is sure to see little-to-no blowback from viewers.

Nick Cannon Says He’s Ready To Get A Vasectomy Because He Doesn’t Want To ‘Populate The Earth’

As a noted polygamist, Nick Cannon recently spoke about how monogamy was unhealthy for him. Earlier this year, the Masked Singer star and Wild N’ Out creator was on family therapist Dr. Laura Berman’s Language of Love podcast and said that monogamy, “gets into the space of selfishness and ownership,” and that after dabbling in celibacy for a while, his focus was, “to be the best father I can be.” As he prepares for the birth of his eighth child, (and first with model Bre Tiesi) Cannon just told E! News’ Daily Pop that he’s ready to get a vasectomy.

“I already went and got my vasectomy consultation,” he told E! News. “I ain’t looking to populate the Earth completely, but I’m definitely looking forward to taking care and loving all the children that I currently have.” Cannon also noted that he laments not always being available for his kids in their younger years, saying, “I do have the guilt of not having enough time to spend with all of my children, as we all do because we’re working and constantly going.”

He’s always been candid about fatherhood and his sex life and has always done so with his wits about him. He even joked that he expects his many children to hold their own in the entertainment industry eventually. “You definitely gonna see some Cannons on the screen and hear their music,” he said. “I’m going to have to recoup some of this. So they gonna be some talented babies.”

Twitter Isn’t Letting Elon Musk Back Out Of His Multi-Billion Dollar Deal, No Matter How Hard He Tries

Elon Musk is doing his darnedest to back out of his $44 billion acquisition of Twitter due to a dubious concern over spam and fake accounts, but he may not succeed. At a company town hall meeting on Thursday, Twitter executives “told employees they will not renegotiate the price of his $44 billion takeover agreement,” the Daily Beast reports, “even as Musk tries to stir up doubt about the number of fake accounts on the platform.”

Bottles of champagne were supposedly popped.

Twitter’s share price is currently hovering around $38 per share, well below the $54.20 per share Musk committed to last month. The terms of the buyout agreement will make it hard for him to weasel out of the deal. It includes a $1 billion breakup fee, and the company could sue to try to force Musk to follow through on the transaction.

In response to an article earlier this week that suggested Musk could try to renegotiate for a “better Twitter deal,” the new Mike Lindell tweeted, “20% fake/spam accounts, while 4 times what Twitter claims, could be *much* higher. My offer was based on Twitter’s SEC filings being accurate. Yesterday, Twitter’s CEO publicly refused to show proof of <5%.” He added that “this deal cannot move forward until he does.” I’d say stay tuned to Musk’s Twitter account for more updates, but you might want to stay away from there.

‘SVU’ Mainstay Ice-T Innocently Asked ‘WTF Does Ship Mean??’ And Two Minutes Later, He May Have Regretted The Question

Law & Order: SVU fans get pretty carried away each time an episode airs ahead of the octopus-terrorized Law & Order: Organized Crime, and if there’s some sort of crossover happening, too? Watch out. Viewers are somehow obsessed with the idea that Mariska Hargitay’s Olivia Benson and Chris Meloni’s Elliot Stabler make understated lovey-dovey eyes at each other. They want that Unresolved Sexual Tension to be permanently resolved. Although this obsession has been ongoing for years, the matter intensified after Stabler wandered back from Italy, and the franchise conveniently offed his wife, leaving him emotionally vulnerable and single and all that jazz.

It’s a recipe for hopeful ‘shippers to go absolutely nuts (about make-believe relationships about make-believe characters), and all this time, it seems that Ice-T has been blissfully unaware of the main “ship” going on with his own show. Hey, Fin Tutuola is a busy man! He doesn’t concern himself with the relationships (especially non-canon ones) of coworkers, and Ice-T stays cool, too. At least, that was the case until one of the most entertaining tweeters out there decided to ask (in response to an inquiry about Benson and Stabler) an innocent question: “WTF does Ship mean??” Oh boy.

Two minutes later, he instantly regretted asking the question to a bunch of shippers:

Can you blame him? Let’s just say that Ice-T got a swift education, including a response about a “ship” involving Fin:

People get really worked up about shipping, and sure, it messes up the canon of any given property, but it’s all in fun. Still, Ice-T probably wishes he could either delete without repercussion/complaints or simply hit the edit button right about now. Oh wait.

‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Director Deborah Chow Tells Us That Droid In The Trailer Is Not 4-LOM

Earlier today we spoke to Obi-Wan Kenobi director Deborah Chow. Now, in the trailer for Obi-Wan Kenobi we see a droid who looks an awful lot like 4-LOM from The Empire Strikes Back. (He’s one of the bounty hunters Darth Vader assembles to hunt for the Millennium Falcon. Boba Fett eventually completes this task.) In the trailer, we see this droid shooting at Obi-Wan. I mention this scene from the trailer to Chow, then correct myself because to this day I don’t know if it’s pronounced Four Lom or Four El Oh Em.

Chow says, “It’s actually Four Lom.” But then continues, “But that’s not actually 4-LOM though, it is actually a different droid named One Jack. Everyone thinks it’s 4-LOM.” (Poor 4-LOM. In the 1980s his action figure mistakenly said Zuckuss, so everyone called him Zuckuss for 20 years. Now this.)

I then point out that our new Star Wars character One Jack sure looks like 4-LOM and Chow responds, “It’s similar.” And then points out I’m the first person to bring up 4-LOM on this press tour. (For anyone who knows me personally, this will probably not surprise you that I brought up 4-LOM.) This feels similar to IG-11 in The Mandalorian who everyone thought (including me) was IG-88.

So I asked what’s One Jack’s deal? (I don’t know how One Jack is spelled, so it could be 1-Jack?) Is he also a bounty hunter, like 4-LOM? Chow won’t go quite this far with information, “For that you’re going to have to wait and see.” I do mention that he looks like bad news, Chow laughs, “They usually are.”

Anyway, yes, we will learn more about Obi-Wan Kenobi and our new buddy One Jack (1-Jack?) when the series premieres next week on May 27. We will also have more from Deborah Chow next week as well.

You can contact Mike Ryan directly on Twitter.
