There is a ton of excitement for the start of the 2024 NFL season, as fans woke up Sunday ready to finally watch the first full day of NFL football of the year. For Dolphins fans, they are hoping this is the year the team can not only get off to a strong start, but finish the year with some wins in the postseason, but their 2024 campaign got off to an inauspicious start as social media was flooded with numerous videos and photos of Tyreek Hill getting handcuffed outside Hard Rock Stadium in Miami a little under three hours before kickoff against the Jaguars.
Eventually, Hill’s agent Drew Rosenhaus arrived on the scene and he was released by police who had pulled him over for a “driving violation”, per Rosenhaus, who also informed ESPN’s Adam Schefter that Hill would still play in the opener against Jacksonville. The Dolphins issued a statement and confirmed the incident and that Hill would play, via Ian Rapoport.
This morning, WR Tyreek Hill was pulled over for a traffic incident about one block from the stadium and briefly detained by police. He has since been released. Several teammates saw the incident and stopped to offer support. Tyreek and all other players involved have safely arrived to the stadium and will be available for today’s game.
According to ESPN’s Jeff Darlington, Hill was cited for reckless driving and got into a verbal altercation with police, with the officer deciding to handcuff him.
It is pretty wild to see a star player getting handcuffed — and treated very aggressively by police in a couple of the videos — outside the team’s stadium, and we will have to see what the fallout from all this looks like. It is reminiscent of Scottie Scheffler getting arrested outside the course driving to the PGA Championship and then coming back to play after being released.
Dexter Morgan has supposedly died twice during his bloody Showtime adventures. In the Dexter series finale, he sailed into a hurricane and was presumed dead but revealed to have begun a new existence as a lumberjack. And at the end of Dexter: New Blood, he instructed Harrison (where) to shoot him, and showrunner Clyde Phillips clarified to viewers, “Dexter is dead.”
Well, the joke was on us, and that’s alright. Not only will Dexter: Original Sin (in which Michael C. Hall will provide the voiceover while his younger self is portrayed by Patrick Gibson of Shadow and Bone) arrive in late 2024 to show us how the vigilante serial killer got his start living by the Code, but Dexter: Resurrection will bring Hall’s character back from the grave. It’s gonna be wall-to-wall Dark Passenger content, y’all, so let’s discuss what we can expect from the revival/sequel series.
Plot

Our dude sure was looking dead up ^^^ there, right? Michael C. Hall has done his best to explain this unexpected outcome by telling Variety, “I don’t know what I am authorized to say other than, it’s really cold out there.” So, we’re expected to believe that the icy cold weather in Iron Lake, New York was enough to slow his blood down and prevent the gunshot from being fatal.
In other words, we’ve got ourselves a case of plot armor because the series has found new life (and death) with the binge-happy Netflix audience. This also provides plenty of fuel for Showtime Entertainment chief Gary Levine to retract those words following the Original Sin finale, which he called “a profoundly powerful conclusion to our beloved and extraordinary series.”
In Resurrection, Dexter will resume his story “right where we left off” and with multiple seasons in mind. He will naturally need to choose a new home after wearing out his welcome (and the justice system) in both sun-drenched Miami and chilly upstate New York. I’m guessing that Clyde Philips will choose to paint over the lumberjack past and give Dexter a wholly new profession, and Showtime has not clarified whether he will be back in communication (or even in cahoots) with Harrison (Jack Alcott) after the events of Original Sin. If those two are back together, the franchise will have no excuse not to follow up on the flagships series’ most excruciating scene, which might have done as much damage to Harrison’s psyche than being “born in blood.”
For now, concrete plot details are being kept under lock and key, but the series has a significant choice to make: continue in the tradition of delivering gut-punch finales, or decide to deliver a satisfactory outcome for viewers? Heck, Showtime could have a blast eventually making Dexter endure nine lives.
Upon announcing this series, Hall did concede that his return was “unbelievable,” but he knows why people can’t quit this TV serial killer:
“I think there’s many different ways this show appeals to people as there are people who watch it. But I think maybe a biding thing is, in a world in which we feel a sense of being out of control people like spending time with a character who’s taking his own, unique control of his little corner of the world. I think we all have our shadow side that we contend with and Dexter’s is obviously a little weightier than most. People enjoy spending time with someone who is doing his best to take responsibility for that side in his sort of outside-the-box way and morally grey way … maybe contending with it in a way that is arguably admirable — even though he’s doing what he’s doing.”
Cast
Michael C. Hall would be the only essential ingredient in this series, but it would be nice if Jennifer Carpenter could give him more hell as Debra’s Ghost, and Harrison would feel like a natural continuation of Dexter: New Blood.
Release Date
Dexter: Resurrection will surface in Summer 2025, which is a quick turnaround but also timed to follow Dexter: Original Sin‘s December 2024 arrival.

The NFL season is finally upon us, and that means fans will spend their Sundays (and Thursday and Monday nights) locked in for the next four months. One of the great things about sports is that fandom is often the same no matter who you are, and you can find some of the biggest stars from the world of music, sports, and entertainment losing their mind right alongside normal folks.
Sure, they get some perks like sideline passes and luxury suites, but the rollercoaster of emotions is all the same. With that in mind, we wanted to go through all 32 teams to identify their biggest and most prominent celebrity fan.
Atlanta Falcons: Ludacris
With respect to Usher, 2 Chainz, Jeezy, T.I., and the many other Atlanta-based artists that are also Falcons fans, Ludacris gets the nod here by being not just a star in the world of music, but also of film thanks to his incredible work in the Fast & Furious franchise. Also, no one else other than Luda has ever rappelled from the rafters for a pregame performance at a Falcons game.
NO ONE, circles the wagons like the Buffalo Bills, and no one is a more famous Bills supporter than the legendary Chris Berman. Boomer narrated the Bills hype video a year ago and while there are some other celebs and artists that are Bills fans, like Benny the Butcher, Berman gets the nod.
Carolina Panthers: Stephen Curry
One of the easiest picks on this list, Curry grew up in Charlotte and is by far the most well-known fan of the Panthers. He famously grew close to Cam Newton during his time as the franchise’s signal caller.

Do we really need to explain this one? Obama is a well-documented Chicago sports fan, and even hosted the 1985 Chicago Bears at the White House during his time in the Oval Office.

While Hudson was born in California, she spent her childhood in Colorado, and as a result grew up a huge fan of the Broncos. As she’s explained, she was a big fan of Peyton Manning before he joined the team in 2012, and was awfully excited when he became the team’s signal caller.

Like most Lions fans, Eminem has seen some stuff, and he’s been a fixture at their games for years, even before they built themselves up into a Super Bowl contender. Now, they’re one of the best teams in the NFL, and you can usually bet that he’s at Ford Field when they’re playing.

Weezy’s rooting interests are famously all over the place. In the NFL, that means he supports the Green Bay Packers, to the point that he once did a spin on Wiz Khalifa’s “Black and Yellow” ahead of the Packers’ matchup with the Pittsbugh Steelers in the Super Bowl. You can probably guess this, but the title of that track: “Green and Yellow.”
Houston Texans: Paul Wall
Paul Wall loves all things Houston, which includes being the most prominent supporter of the most recent franchise to join the league — the Texans played their first game on Sept. 8, 2002, and less than 18 months later, The Iceman dropped his debut studio album, “Chick Magnet.”
Indianapolis Colts: Rob Lowe
No, this is not a Parks and Rec bit, and yes, he has a team and doesn’t just wear that NFL hat everywhere. Lowe loves the Colts, and famously sent some tweets back in 2012 about how he heard Peyton Manning was going to retire. This, of course, did not happen, but Manning got cut by the Colts not long after and freed up a path for him to join the Broncos.
Jacksonville Jaguars: Lil Duval
There are a handful of celebrities the internet will tell you have ties to the Jaguars (Bill Murray, somehow?) but no one is more vocal or visible about their Jags fandom than the comedian and artist who shares a name with the county they play in — where DUUUUVVVAAAALLLL is the rallying cry.
Kansas City Chiefs: Taylor Swift
Do we really have to explain this one? While folks like Rob Riggle and Paul Rudd are well-documented Chiefs fans, Swift has constantly been at their games since her relationship with Travis Kelce began. It’s gone pretty well for the Chiefs, which one the Super Bowl last year.
Las Vegas Raiders: Ice Cube
You can say other people on this list are more famous than Ice Cube, but you can’t say that anyone on here is more closely tied with a team than Cube is with the Raiders. He vocally and prominently supported the team during their time in Los Angeles in the 1980s and ’90s, and he’s been the most famous face of Raider Nation ever since.
There are a lot of celebrities that make their way to Rams games in L.A., but Lamar’s been around the team for some time and you’d be hard-pressed to find a bigger star in the world of music this year after his victory lap around Drake over the summer. Way back in 2016, Lamar and ScHoolboy Q went out to Rams training camp to run some routes and have some fun.
Miami Dolphins: DJ Khaled
The Miami-based artist and producer loves all of South Florida’s teams, and has some 1-of-1 Dolphins Jordan 11s to show his fandom.
I honestly don’t know which of them is the more famous one at this point, so I’ll just lump them together. Pats owner Robert Kraft has made friends with many celebrities, but no one has deeper ties to the Patriots than the Boston natives.
New Orleans Saints: Emeril Lagasse
With respect to Harry Connick Jr., in this house we stan the original celebrity chef, Emeril Lagasse. The New Orleans native makes a mean bowl of gumbo and loves his Saints.
New York Giants: Tracy Morgan
The Giants have a number of famous fans, as you’d expect for a team representing New York, but no one is a bigger fan of the G Men than comedian Tracy Morgan.
New York Jets: Adam Sandler
The Sandman loves his Jets, and to be honest, he’s a perfect avatar for Jets fandom. No one does over-the-top frustration on screen better than Sandler and that’s how every Jets fan feels every season.
Philadelphia Eagles: Bradley Cooper
There are a number of options here, from Philly rapper Meek Mill (although he loses some points for his friendship with Pats owner Robert Kraft) to Miles Teller, but Bradley Cooper gets the choice here. He’s become a rabid Eagles fan and said he’d rather see the Eagles win a Super Bowl than win an Oscar.
Pittsburgh Steelers: Snoop Dogg
It seems like Snoop has the incredible ability to support every team in every sport at all times. But he’s been a Steelers fan since the 1970s, dating back to when he’d watch them battle the Raiders on TV.
San Francisco 49ers: Kamala Harris
The Niners have a ton of prominent fans — E-40, Julia Roberts, Saweetie, Andy Samberg, etc. — but none of them are currently running for President of the United States. Kamala Harris, however, is, so she gets the nod here.

Did the world need an anime series from this franchise? Arguably not, but this franchise has injected unexpected life into what would otherwise be a crushed crop of cyborgs. The film follows a Japanese developer’s work on a SkyNet competitor back in 1997, and as it turns out, these rivals are not content to let the market settle their rivalry. Cue a warrior from the future heading back in time to attempt life-saving intervention. The voice cast includes André Holland, Rosario Dawson, Sonoya Mizuno, and yes, that is Timothy Olyphant’s unmistakeable voice and swagger coming from the T-800.
This heist story is based upon iHeartRadio’s Fight Night podcast, which heads back to October 1970 when Muhammad Ali returned to boxing in what turned out to be the same evening that “Chicken Man” (Kevin Hart) pulled off a historical heist during a party full of ultra-wealthy post-fight patrons. By the end of the evening, multi-million-dollars of thievery went down, and this shockingly brazen crime spree became a longwinded headache for detective J.D. Hudson, one of Atlanta’s first Black detectives.
8. A Quiet Place: Day One – Paramount movie streaming on Paramount+
Lupita Nyong’o, Joseph Quinn, and Frodo the Cat star in this rendition of what happened when John Krasinski’s sound-hunting aliens landed in Manhattan. This franchise hasn’t missed yet, and whispers of a fourth movie are circulating as the threequel arrives as part of a streaming package. Enjoy the chaos in your own living room, and root for that damn cat, will you?
This George R.R. Martin-produced crime drama (anything to avoid writing Winds of Winter, but in this case, GRRM’s procrastination is well worth the diversion) qualifies as a sleeper series that I highly recommend binging at some point. (Mostly) Native American writers are doing the thing here with Tony Hillerman’s Leaphorn & Chee book series and the two 1970s Navajo cops (at a remote area near Monument Valley) confronted by a series of violent crimes, and these investigations present sights that make them second guess their spiritual beliefs. A third season is on the way, and the show’s recent Netflix arrival has opened up a whole new audience for what’s next.
Vince Vaughn returns to leading-man mode while embracing those comedic roots in this series adaptation of Carl Hiaasen’s cult-favorite and bestseller novel of the same name. Likewise, producer Bill Lawrence follows up his Ted Lasso feel-good vibes with less wholesome subject matter to follow Vaughn’s Andrew Yancy, a former cop-turned-health-inspector, becomes involved in a mystery investigation. Co-stars include Rob Delaney, Jodie Turner-Smith, Michelle Monaghan, Alex Moffat, and a dash of Zach Braff. If this doesn’t redeem Vaughn for that second True Detective season, then nothing else will.
5. The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power – Amazon series
This past week was Tom Bombadil Week, which brings some much needed controversy to Middle-earth and Jeff Bezos’ dream of really achieving his ownGame of Thrones. Heck, this show might even be the reason for Amazon launching original content in the first place, and fortunately, we got Reacher and Mr. and Mrs. Smith out of the deal, too.
Harry Lawtey will soon surface as an early Harvey Dent in the Joker sequel, and he’s still kicking around in all the wrong places as Robert in this show that is getting its due with a growing audience. This series, which also stars Myha’la, Marisa Abela, Ken Leung, and the newly installed Kit Harington, has received plentiful comparisons to Euphoria due to the off-hours debauchery on display, but the third season is leveling up with more intricate and complex arcs for its impressively disastrous characters
3. Joker – Warner Bros. Pictures movie streaming on Max
The reviews for the Lady Gaga-starring musical followup are not kind overall, but the film could still hit a billion dollars at the box office. In the meantime, people are revisiting Joaquin Phoenix’s first performance as the Clown Prince of Crime. Director Todd Phillips did the thing here, and it remains to be seen how theatergoers respond to Arthur Fleck’s second outing. Will he still be considered a complex early version of the chaotic figure who slipped through the cracks with homicidal results, or will the dancing shows have worn thin?
Nicole Kidman has not-so-quietly been amassing TV series on HBO, Hulu, and Amazon, so it only makes sense that she would follow up her A Family Affair Netflix movie with a TV series on the same streaming service. This (presumably limited) series looks like a cross between The White Lotus and Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery with Kidman portraying the matriarch of a wealthy Nantucket family. In this adaptation of Elin Hilderbrand’s book, the fam is about to welcome a daughter-in-law, yet unfortunately, the wedding weekend turns into a murder scene, and the whodunit begins.
Fart City, ahoy! That would be London when Jackson Lamb is walking around. Meanwhile, are you ready to see his living space? Because that’s coming this season, along with other messy thrills for these f*cked up MI5 agents who find themselves handling matters of utmost national importance. This season follows Mick Herron’s fourth Slough House novel, Spook Street, and Jackson’s cadre of misfits will find themselves embroiled within a terror attack in a shopping district. Come for the action and intrigue, and stick around for a grumpy, farting Gary Oldman in the role of his life.
Author Hugh Howey began his Silo saga by self-publishing the WOOL short story, which he expanded with additional chapters until he completed the full-fledged Silo omnibus. Over a decade after that journey began, showrunner Graham Yost (Justified, Band of Brothers, the upcoming Slow Horses season) began adapting Howey’s brainchild for Apple TV+. The first season took Rebecca Ferguson thousands of feet underground as Jules, who began her onscreen journey as a singularly focused and brilliant mechanic who keeps her civilization’s lights on. She’s pulled out of the Earth’s depths for a different calling, which leads her to uncover truths that eventually make her a target.
Silo quickly landed on our list of best Apple TV+ shows since the service launched. And as viewers know, the first season ended with Jules being condemned to walk outside, where she became the first silo inhabitant to ascend over the hill and disappear from view. She then discovered an array of other silos, whereas everybody at her “home” believes that only one silo exists. Let’s get down to business on what thrills that viewers can expect next:
Plot
An ominous teaser shows Juliette — outside her silo after having refused to perform the ritualistic “cleaning” — with the following message from the Order: “In the case of a failed cleaning, prepare for war.”
Of course, the show has yet to reveal what “war” means, but the first season finale did show Bernard (Tim Robbins) losing his sh*t over Juliette’s form of rebellion. It’s also no secret, as confirmed through a Variety panel with Yost, Howey, Rebecca Ferguson, and Common, that Juliette makes her way to another silo, where she will meet a “scary and weird” dude, Solo, who is portrayed by Steve Zahn.
This puts Silo‘s main characters into two locations, so how will the series juggle those different settings? TVLine’s Matt Webb Mitovich received clarification from Yost during a recent conversation:
When I spoke to showrunner Graham Yost this week, he confirmed my suspicion — given the amount of retuning cast members — that whereas the second half of the Wool novel that Season 2 covers is quite Juliette-centric and spends comparatively less time in her old silo, the TV series will be “a little more 50-50.” Case in point, the first new episode is all Juliette, he said, and the second is all Silo 18 action.
Ferguson has previously teased that the second season “gets incredibly intense… wet,” and if she’s stressing that detail, we can probably expect something even more intense than Juliette nearly drowning while attempting to cool the generator with a hose.
From there, we can expect the story to jump back and forth between two silos, as Graham Yost has stressed that “there are two storylines in Season 2. One that follows Juliette and one that happens in her home Silo.” This makes me suspect that a third story from the Shift novel will be pushed to a third season or done away with altogether. There’s simply not enough space in a single season to deal with every monumental book event in an adequate matter, so we’ll have to see how Yost and Apple TV+ decide to roll in the future.
Cast
Returning cast members not only include Rebecca Ferguson but several members of her home silo including Common as Leather Jacket Sims, Harriet Walter as Martha, and Tim Robbins as Barnard.
Steve Zahn feels like a pitch-perfect selection to portray Solo, and other second-season cast members will include Chinaza Uche, Avi Nash, Billy Postlethwaite, Alexandria Riley, Shane McRae, Rick Gomez, Remmie Milner, Clare Perkins, and Caitlin Zoz.
Release Date
Weekly episodes will drop for the second season starting on November 15.

Angel Reese, the standout rookie forward for the Chicago Sky who has started every game for the team this year, announced on Saturday evening that her first season in the WNBA is coming to an end. In a statement posted onto social media, Reese revealed that she will be shut down due to an injury.

While Reese did not specify what the injury is, she was listed as questionable in the lead-up to Sunday’s game between the Sky and the Dallas Wings due to a wrist injury. The injury comes at an especially unfortunate time for Chicago, which are currently 12-22 and are holding onto the eighth and final seed in the WNBA playoffs — they have the same record as the Atlanta Dream, but hold the tiebreaker between the two teams.
Reese, No. 7 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft and a former standout at LSU, has established herself as one of the W’s premier rebounders and earned an All-Star nod as a rookie. She averaged 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds in 32.5 minutes per game for the Sky this season.
There’s a fun counter-action that comes from being a fan of a team, and that is really hating another team. Kevin Durant, as it turns out, is a terrific example of this, as the Phoenix Suns star and well-documented fan of the Washington Commanders absolutely cannot stand the Dallas Cowboys.
Durant sat down with Kay Adams and got asked about relegating an NFL team — recently, Durant purchased a minority stake in French soccer team Paris Saint-Germain.
“If you could get rid of one NFL team, the biggest pain in your ass, which team would you pick?” Adams asked.
“Cowboys,” Durant replied before Adams even completely finished her question. “Cowboys easily.”
Durant gave a very simple reason for this: He just does not like the Dallas Cowboys one bit, and then, he tried to get to the heart of why he hates the Cowboys so much in a pretty spectacular soundbite.
“I had to ask myself why don’t I like the Cowboys,” Durant said. “Cause I don’t hate any teams, or any players, I’m a huge fan of a lot of teams. But the Cowboys are that one team I just don’t like, and I think it’s because a lot of people where I’m from in D.C. have become Cowboys fans. It’s probably, like, 75 percent of people in Washington, D.C., in my group of people, that are Cowboys fans. And I just hate that they don’t stay loyal to the crib.”
Adams asked Durant about whether he’d let these people become Commanders fans if their recent first-round pick, LSU quarterback and reigning Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels, pops off, but Durant stressed “we’re not letting them on the bus.” It is unclear if he views the Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Giants with the same amount of vitriol, but I just assume that every fan of an NFC East teams hates every other NFC East team.
But on the pop end, her resume is predominately men like BTS and its member RM. However, Megan Thee Stallion wants to change that. In an exclusive chat with People, Megan Thee Stallion revealed that she hopes to collaborate with global pop star Taylor Swift.
“I love Taylor Swift, and I would like to collab with her one day,” she said.
Although the revelation comes on the heels of Megan Thee Stallion’s Pepsi commercial cameo, which co-stars Swift’s beau, Travis Kelce, and other NFL players, she cited another reason as to why the hopeful track makes sense.
“She’s a stallion too, she’s a tall girl,” she said. “I love that. We would be so cute next to each other.”
Still, users online aren’t sold on the idea. But Megan Thee Stallion has proven to deliver on her featured track and to pull the best out of those who jump on a song with her.
In a video shared by announcer Dallas Braden’s wife, Meg Braden, revealed that a household dare pushed Braden to sneakily use Carpenter’s “Please Please Please” lyrics during the Seattle Mariners and Oakland Athletics game on September 5.
“Day two of daring my husband, who is a broadcaster of a baseball team to say something on air,” she said. “This one’s fun.”
The video (viewable here) quickly cuts to a clip of Darren’s commentary during the matchup.
“I tell you heartbreak is one thing,” he said. “My ego’s another.”
But Braden wasn’t alone. His announcing partner quickly caught onto Braden’s game and showed off his pop culture knowledge, saying: “So the A’s are saying please don’t embarrass me, brother.”
