Rico Nasty Said Being On Playboi Carti’s Tour Is Making Her ‘Wish I Was Dead’

At first, it seemed like Rico Nasty landing a role opening up for Playboi Carti was a good thing. The rising rapper is one of the most talented MCs in the game, and has made a way for herself as a woman in hip-hop who leans all the way into her own aggressive style of music. She’s a unique force, and one to be reckoned with. But everyone has their limits, and the disrespectful way Carti’s fans have been treating Rico when she’s onstage has begun to wear on her mental health.

Back in November, a fan threw a bottle at her while she was performing in Portland, and she nearly confronted them for the incident. She also was upset when fans booed her during an LA show, saying: “This is what the f*ck we gon’ do for you disrespectful muthaf*ckers out there.. B*tch, we gon’ sit in muthaf*ckin silence! Don’t you f*cking play! What you think this is, b*tch? It’s not that.” So far, Carti has been silent about the way fans have been behaving toward her, but Rico seemed to reach a breaking point tonight when she took to Twitter to let fans know how much she’s struggling.

“I dead ass need at least two hours out of each day. To just cry,” she began. “Crazy how I wanted a tour bus my whole life and now I just be on the tour bus crying myself to sleep every night 😂. I wish I was dead just as much as y’all do trust me. Y’all win.” Quickly deleting her tweets, Complex caught the missives before they were removed:

Twitter has since erupted with support for Rico — including from artists like Kehlani — so here’s hoping she can focus on those messages of love and encouragement instead of a few terrible fans on a single tour. Check out some supportive messages for Rico below.

Brian May Say Queen Would Be ‘Forced’ To Have A ‘Trans’ Member And ‘People Of Different Colors’ If They Existed Today

Adding to the list of people who just don’t get it: Brian May of Queen. May recently decided to bring up the subject of increased focus on diversity in culture today — he thinks efforts to make culture less overwhelmingly white and predominantly male is wrongheaded. As Spin points out, the Queen guitarist took a moment to speak on the subject with UK paper The Mirror after the Brit Awards decided to remove male and female categories from some of their main awards.

After noting that he thought Freddie Mercury would’ve found modern culture “difficult,” May continued:

“Freddie [Mercury] came from Zanzibar, he wasn’t British, he wasn’t white as such – nobody cares, nobody ever, ever discussed it,” May said. “He was a musician, he was our friend, he was our brother. We didn’t have to stop and think: ‘Ooh, now, should we work with him? Is he the right color? Is he the right sexual proclivity?’ None of that happened, and now I find it frightening that you have to be so calculating about everything. We would be forced to have people of different colors and different sexes and we would have to have a trans [person]. You know life doesn’t have to be like that. We can be separate and different.”

But perhaps what May doesn’t realize, as a straight white man, is that all the calculating previously had to be done on the side of marginalized people, who were constantly fighting to be recognized for their contributions, or find a way to stay safe in a very unwelcoming environment. If there’s a small amount of labor that goes into making sure those unheard voices are now recognized, well, then that’s an excellent swap.

Mark Hamill Shared Some Memes Mashing Up ‘Get Back’ With ‘Star Wars,’ Because He Too Is Apparently Bingeing The New Beatles Series

There were a lot of viewing options over the Thanksgiving holiday, but few were as epic as Get Back, the three-part, nearly eight-hour doc series about chronicling the recording of The Beatles’ album Let It Be. It’s a game-changer in a lot of ways. For one, it dispels the myth that Yoko Ono, John Lennon’s soon-to-be-wife, was a disruptive presence who led to the band’s break-up. One person who seems to have chosen the Beatles over, say, the new South Park movie is none other than Mark Hamill.

The actor and “good at social media” celeb dropped a handful of memes that photoshopped various Star Wars figures into famous photos of the Fab Four. There’s the young him as Luke Skywalker hanging with them circa what looks like 1966. There’s him, Carrie Fisher’s Leia, Harrison Ford’s Han Solo, and Peter Mayhew’s Chewbacca among the throngs in the cover of Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. There’s John, Paul, George, and Ringo decked out in Storm Trooper regalia.

What’s the connection? Both Star Wars and Get Back (though no other Beatles content) are owned by Disney. Or maybe Hamill just really, really likes The Beatles. Who doesn’t? In the meantime, hats off to the many who spent a large chunk of their holiday weekend rocking out with The Beatles as they appeared to really enjoy each other’s company — apart from that stretch where George Harrison quits the band, of course.

Florida State Gave Us The Worst Onside Kick In The History Of Football

Here’s the deal: You know how sometimes, you’ll be scrolling the internet and something will be described as “the worst,” and then you click and look and it’s really not something that’s all that bad? We promise you, that is decidedly not what happened here, as Florida State attempted an onside kick late in its season finale against Florida that ended terribly.

The ‘Noles found the end zone with 49 seconds left in the game to cut into the Gators’ lead and make the score 24-21. With the visitors needing a miracle to pick up a win, Florida State did what it was supposed to do: line up and attempt an onside kick.

Now, onside kicks are really hard! It’s rare that a team successfully pulls one off, but you can usually count on the ball to go close to 10 yards and for some chaos to potentially happen. Instead, FSU’s Parker Grothaus was not able to get nearly enough of the ball, so instead of it going anywhere, it fell forward off the tee and just laid there.

A Florida State player touched the ball, meaning they were hit with an illegal touching penalty. The Gators got the ball, ran out the clock, picked up the win, and earned bowl eligibility by finishing the regular season 6-6 despite firing their head coach earlier this week.

John Wall Wants To Return To The Rockets And Play Sometime Soon

The Houston Rockets have the worst record in the NBA. The team sits at 2-16 so far this season, and while there has been an emphasis on letting young players get on the floor and learn about life in the pros, it’s come with one pretty bizarre twist: John Wall has not played in a single game this season. Wall, the former All-Star guard the team acquired last year, has been a healthy scratch as the team looks to satiate his desire to play elsewhere due to the team placing a priority on its future.

With the market for his services being sparse and the inability to come to terms on a buyout, though, Wall has just sat on the bench. Apparently, he wants that to change, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Wall and the Rockets had agreed on him sitting out until a trade could be found, but the five-time All-Star guard talked to Houston general manager Rafael Stone on Friday about restarting a dialogue on a return to the active roster, sources said. The two sides are expected to continues discussions on Sunday, sources said.

Wojnarowski noted that both sides have to strike a balance between what Wall’s reputation is as a player and Houston’s long-term plan. There is no word on when Wall, whose contract has two years and $91 million remaining, is eyeing a return.

The Director Of DMX’s New Documentary Says He Owes His Sobriety To The Late Rapper

After two years of filming, DMX: Don’t Try To Understand premiered on HBO Max over Thanksgiving. The documentary was directed by Chris Frierson and he recently spoke to Rolling Out about working with DMX. “You know that thing when you meet somebody famous and you’re super disappointed? It was the complete opposite of that,” Frierson said. “It was like everything I hoped for in a human being, I saw over a couple days. And I think possibly he saw something in our coverage that he wasn’t necessarily used to in the questions we were asking.”

Frierson also revealed that he checked himself into rehab for substance abuse days before DMX was hospitalized for an overdose. “That was hard [for me],” he said. “I partially owe my sobriety to him, to a certain extent, because the last thing he said to me was that I was going to be alright.”

Frierson said that he pitched the idea for the doc Mass Appeal back in 2018 around the time that DMX was sentenced to jail time for tax evasion. The initial plan was to shoot select scenes inside the West Virginia Federal prison where DMX was sent, but a warden denied the request. That forced Frierson and his team to wait until he was released in 2019 to begin shooting.

The Most Comprehensive Exhibit Of Bob Dylan’s Artwork Is Opening In Miami During Art Basel

Bob Dylan has been working as a musician for most of his life, but diehard fans know that he’s been working with visual art for decades as well. In an effort to get most of those pieces in one place for a comprehensive exhibit, The Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum in Miami has a showcase of Dylan’s artwork opening next Tuesday, November 30. According to AP, the exhibit is set to include “more than 180 acrylics, watercolors, drawings and ironwork sculptures.” The opening is set to coincide with the annual Art Basel festival and will be on display through April 17.

Along with previously-seen works, the exhibit also includes 40 new paintings that have never been seen by the public. Tickets for entry to the show, titled “Retrospectrum,” will be $16 and sold in hourly slots. Many of the pieces are on loan from private collections, and includes sketches from early ’60s songs, but the vast majority of the included work was created by Dylan in the last fifteen years. The exhibit encompasses a total of six rooms.

“He was recognized in every possible way as a writer, as a composer, as a singer, as a performer and so on,” said Shai Baitel, the artistic director of the Modern Art Museum Shanghai, where the show debuted. Baitel was also responsible for conceiving of the show’s concept. “It is now that the audience sees also the last element,” Baitel continued. “Dylan is able to express himself in so many ways.”

Of Course Fox News Hosts Are Already Recklessly Suggesting Joe Biden Is Making Up COVID Variants Like Omicron (Which Is Real)

There’s a new COVID variant, and it doesn’t sound so good. According to The New York Times, it’s called the Omicron, and it was first detected in South Africa, with cases already popping up in the U.K. and suspected cases in Germany. It’s still early days, so it is so far unknown whether or not it’s resistant to the vaccines that have withstood previous variants, such as the Delta. It’s important to remain calm. But of course, that is not what’s happening over at Fox News.

As per Mediaite, the network kicked off Saturday by having the weekend hosts of Fox & Friends recklessly speculate about how it’s all a conspiracy theory hatched by Joe Biden. Rachel Campos-Duffy, Will Cain, and Pete Hegseth (the latter already not a trusted source on health issues) put their brains together and wondered if a virus — which has been allowed to fester and mutate by either a shortage of vaccines or, in the U.S. and parts of Europe, irrational resistance to it — was being controlled by a world leader they routinely depict as out of it.

“[He] has said we can’t fix the supply chain problem until the pandemic is over, until Covid is over,” Campos-Duffy told viewers. “And now we see these new variants. So that’s the answer: more lockdowns, more lockdowns, more fear and therefore he doesn’t have to do his job of fixing the supply chain because ‘we’ll keep this whole thing going.’”

“Always a new variant,” Cain quipped, which led Hegset to claim that, thanks to Biden, “you can count on a variant about every October, every two years.”

Campos-Duffy laughed, saying Hegseth is “probably right,” but joking that they “could speed up. The variants could come more quickly.”

To her credit, Campos-Duffy earlier warned that Omicron “could possibly wreak more havoc on our economy and American way of life.” But Fox News viewers still need their red meat, no matter how top brass really feels about the vaccines their hosts trash on air.

Besides, news of Omicron’s emergence was only made public the day before, and though word is that it’s a more virulent, more transmissible strain, research still needs to be conducted to see if, among other matters, it can’t muscle its way through the various vaccines used to treat COVID.

But there is one thing you can do in the meantime: Get vaxxed, if you haven’t already. And if you have and enough time has elapsed, get a booster.

Ohio State And Michigan Had To Be Held Back From Going At One Another In The Tunnel At Halftime

The biggest college football game of the regular season took place on Saturday afternoon in Ann Arbor. The second-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes traveled north to the Big House to take on the fifth-ranked Michigan Wolverines, with a spot in both the Big Ten Championship Game and, potentially, the College Football Playoff on the line.

The first half was as hotly-contested as any in recent memory, with the Wolverines taking a 14-13 lead into the locker room. It was at this point that the unique construction of Michigan Stadium — which forces both teams to use the same tunnel to get to their locker rooms — led to some of the on-field tensions briefly boiling over. Josh Pate of 247 Sports caught the incident on camera, with both teams being held back from going after one another as the Wolveries tried to file into their locker room.

While there were no punches thrown or anything, there was a whole lot of chatter between the two teams, with a few Ohio State players flipping the bird to their Big Ten East counterparts. We also looked to have a little back-and-forth in the foreground, as a dude in a Michigan visor and someone in an Ohio State hat exchanged pleasantries. The Game is always really, really tense, and with the stakes that come with this year’s game — both in the Big Ten/Playoff races and Michigan trying to keep Ohio State from tying the series record with their ninth win in a row — they’ve very much been amplified.
