For the third consecutive year, Polo G has shared a full body of work. His new album, titled Hall Of Fame, arrived at the beginning of June, and it captured the rapper’s outlook on the world as a solidified star in hip-hop. It became his first No. 1 album. Two months after its release, Polo G continues returns with a video for “Black Hearted.”

The video captures some of the bigger highlights that have happened in his life over the past couple of months. It starts by showing some behind-the-scenes clips of Polo G throwing the first pitch at a Chicago Cubs baseball game last month. There’s also footage of his performance at this year’s Lollapalooza festival.

“Black Hearted” joins a number of other tracks from Polo G’s third album that received the video treatment, including “Gang Gang” with Lil Wayne, “No Return” with The Kid Laroi and Lil Durk, “Painting Pictures,” and “Toxic.” It also arrives after a string of collaborations, such as Gunna on “Waves,” Morray for a remix of “Trenches“, and Trippie Redd on “Rich MF” from his new album, Trip At Knight.

It’s been three years since Drake and Pusha-T’s beef reached its tipping point, with the rappers’ respective releases of “Duppy Freestyle” and “The Story Of Adidon.” While Drake certainly took issue with Pusha for his comments, the Toronto rapper has also cited problems with Kanye West. And since then the two have yet to see eye-to-eye. He seemed to address Kanye in his guest verse on Trippie Redd‘s “Betrayal,” the first collaboration between the two rappers, from Trippie’s new album Trip At Knight.

Drake seems to take a shot at Kanye in the song. “All these fools I’m beefin’ that I barely know / Forty-five, forty-four (Burned out), let it go,” he raps, which could be a reference to Kanye’s current age of 44. (Pusha T is coincidentally also 44 years old.) “Ye ain’t changin’ shi*t for me, it’s set in stone / Rollin’ stones, heavy stones (PinkGrillz) / Precious stone, let me make my presence known.”

It’s unclear exactly what Drake believes Kanye won’t change for him, but it could be a reference to his long-awaited Certified Lover Boy, as some believe Kanye is delaying the release of his tenth album Donda in order to share a release date with Drake.

Remember Mike Richards? He was the relatively obscure Jeopardy! executive producer who gave himself the job of permanent host then stepped down after numerous scandals. Technically he only lasted one day on the job. But in that time he managed to bang an entire week’s worth of episodes.

In a New York Times piece Friday (in a bit teased out by Entertainment Weekly), on Thursday Richards kicked off the show’s 38th season, which didn’t go as smoothly as one would hope. Two sources claimed that “frustrations erupted in an emotional meeting on Thursday, where crew members told Mr. Richards his past behavior had imperiled the show’s reputation.” The next day, Richards formally resigned.

But they were still apparently productive. The five episodes with Richards as the not-so-permanent host will air on the week of September 13. What will happen after that is still unknown, though the spin-off show hosted by Mayim Bialik is still ready to go. Of course, a lot of people have very big opinions about who should host instead. Maybe the highers-up have noticed that LeVar Burton, one of the many guest hosts the show has had in the last several months, is just a tiny bit popular.

Marjorie Taylor Greene may not have much to do as an elected lawmaker — she was kicked off committees due to her history of oft-violent rhetoric — but she’s still always in the news. Mere days after floating a bizarre conspiracy theory about Joe Biden giving arms to the Taliban, she’s gotten a Wyoming ski resort in trouble.

According to Axios, Patagonia, the outdoor clothing company, has announced they will no longer sell their items to Jackson Hole after two of its owners held a fundraiser for Greene and other Trumpist figures. Jay and Karen Kemmerer recently co-sponsored an event that supported the House Freedom Caucus, the coterie of Republican representatives that seeks to block progressive legislation. Also in attendance was Jim Jordan, who has been accused of ignoring several cases of sexual abuse at Ohio State University.

“Those that know us in Jackson Hole are aware that we make business decisions and build relationships in alignment with our values and advocacy efforts,” said a Patagonia spokesperson about removing their items from three of the resort’s stores. “We join with the local community that is using its voice in protest. We will continue to use our business to advocate for policies to protect our planet, support thriving communities and a strong democracy.”

The move was widely praised on social media.

Giannis Antetokounmpo purchased a minority ownership stake in the Milwaukee Brewers. The news was announced by the team on Friday, with Antetokounmpo appearing at a news conference prior to the team’s 4-1 loss to the Washington Nationals in which the reigning NBA Finals MVP called hopping on board with the team “unbelievable.”

“This is a dream come true for a kid from Sepolia, Athens, Greece, born from immigrant parents,” Antetokounmpo said, per ESPN. “I could have never imagined I would be in this position.”

Antetokounmpo went on to say that “I want to be involved in the community as much as possible. I know Milwaukee invested a lot in me, and I want to invest a lot of me back into the city of Milwaukee.” He is not the first MVP-caliber athlete to purchase a stake in a Major League Baseball team, as Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes recently joined the ownership group of the Royals.

As for Antetokounmpo, he certainly seems excited for this new opportunity, as he tweeted that his plan is to start working on his swing after becoming part of the Brewers organization.

Earlier this week, a report from TMZ revealed that Britney Spears’ housekeeper accused her of battery after the two allegedly engaged in an argument about the singer’s dogs. At the time, the housekeeper said there was an issue with the way Spears was treating her pets, which sparked a visit to the vet. But when she returned, Spears allegedly confronted her and slapped the housekeeper’s phone out of her hand. Just a few days after a police report was filed at Ventura County Sheriff’s department, additional details about the incident have arrived.

On Saturday morning, TMZ revealed that “sources with direct knowledge” told them Spears’ two dogs were seriously ill, with one coming fairly close to death. The report reveals one of the dogs has a serious digestive issue and both pets are supposed to receive a special type of food. However, the housekeeper became worried when she noticed the dogs were only being fed table scraps, which caused both of them to get sick. Additionally, the housekeeper says the dogs were dehydrated and this led to her decision to take them to the vet.

Once the dogs were examined, the veterinarian was quite surprised at their condition and the housekeeper decided to keep them in her care rather than returning them to Spears. When Spears noticed her dogs were not home, she initially believed her father Jamie Spears had something to do with their disappearances. She called the police on August 10 to file a theft report but decided against it.

Less than a week, later the heated argument between Britney and her housekeeper occurred. As of Friday afternoon, the dogs had not been returned to Britney.

Lorde fans have spent the last four years waiting for a new album from the singer. Luckily on Friday, the New Zealand native delivered just that. Her third album, Solar Power, arrived and to celebrate, Lorde stopped by Good Morning America to perform a collection of songs, many of them from her new album. She delivered debut performances of “California” and “Fallen Fruit,” and in an interview she revealed that the former track reflects on her first visit to the United States.

Lorde also performed her third album’s title track, which she’s performed live many times before, including one with her and Jack Antonoff. Her set on GMA concluded with performances of “Perfect Places” and “Green Light.” Both songs can be found on her sophomore album Melodrama, which she released back in 2017.

Lorde’s Good Morning America appearance comes after she shared a music video for “Mood Ring,” the third single from Solar Power. “I wanted to understand the commune life, dropping out from society and trying to start again,” she said about the song. “That really resonated to me when writing this album.”

Last month, Scarlett Johansson made a bold move: She sued Disney. The company, which owns the MCU — and therefore all the films she made as Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow — had broken their contract, her lawsuit charged, by putting her character’s solo outing on Disney+, as well as in theaters. Disney execs did not take it well, and although they’re hoping to settle things behind closed doors, they did accuse their longtime employee of “gamesmanship.”

As per Deadline, attorney Daniel Petrocelli, an attorney for the company, made a late-night filing on Friday claiming his clients hadn’t broken their contract with the star. Black Widow was guaranteed a “wide theatrical” release. That’s what it got. And, Petrocelli argued, nowhere in the contract did it say the film’s release had to be exclusively theatrical. It also, he said, made a lot of money, especially considering it was released in the middle of a pandemic.

However, rather than duke it out in courts, Petrocelli wanted to force it into arbitration, i.e., to find another way to settle the lawsuit, preferably quietly. Disney also agreed to add streaming receipts to the box office total, thus increasing Johansson’s backend, despite that not being in the original contract.

Petrocelli did have some harsh words for Johansson and her legal team. In the filing, he called her out for suing Disney, not just Marvel, which he called a “futile effort to evade this unavoidable result (and generate publicity through a public filing),” as well as “gamesmanship.” Regardless, Johansson’s potentially game-changing lawsuit may turn out to be less nasty than it initially seemed.

The DCEU has been far more chaotic than the MCU, but it won’t let something like the box office failure of The Suicide Squad — which, again, reportedly did very, very well on HBO Max — get in the way. Case in point: They’re planning a spin-off of another film that underperformed in theaters but has been allegedly popular online. As per The Hollywood Reporter, Black Canary, Jurnee Smollett’s character from Birds of Prey, is getting her own HBO Max movie.

The film, which, as of now at least, will go straight to the company’s streamer, will not only bring back Smollett. It will reunite her with Misha Green, the creator of HBO’s acclaimed Lovecraft Country and the writer-director of the sequel to the Alicia Vikander-starring Tomb Raider. As of now, Green will write the script.

When released, the Black Canary movie will join a number of HBO Max movies centered on female superheroes, including Batgirl and Blue Beetle. Black Canary first appeared in 1947 and she spent a lot of time palling around with Green Arrow. In Birds of Prey, she teamed up with a posse of female vigilantes, most notably Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn. As for Smollett, she is currently an Emmy nominee for Green’s Lovecraft Country.

Trippie Redd is back with his latest project, Trip At Knight, which continues his streak of annual releases, dating back to 2017’s A Love Letter To You. The 18-track album comes attached with features from Drake, Lil Uzi Vert, Playboi Carti, Juice WRLD, Lil Durk, Polo G, SoFaygo, Ski Mask The Slump God, XXXTentacion, BabyFace Ray, Sada Baby, and Icewear Vezzo. The one that’s caught most people’s eyes is the collaboration between Trippie and Drake, titled “Betrayal.”

While Trip At Knight has been out for a little over a day, it was just hours ago that fans were finally able to listen to “Betrayal” after a technical issue left the song mysteriously unavailable online. The track sees Drake stepping into Trippie’s world over the track’s trap-punk production as the two reflect on the times they were betrayed by close friends.

“Betrayal” wasn’t supposed to be the duo’s first collaboration. “God’s Plan,” Drake’s Grammy-winning single from his 2018 album Scorpion, was initially set to feature Trippie, as unreleased versions of the track revealed. However, according to the rapper’s DJ, Trippie was left off the song after he failed to turn in his verse before the song’s deadline. Despite the missed opportunity, it’s good to see that the two rappers were finally able to regroup for a new track.
