Buffalo’s Quarterback Ripped An 81-Yard Punt Against Nebraska

Not every football fan appreciates the subtle art of a good punt, but when a quarterback uncorks a big one, it’s hard not to get excited by special teams.

Nebraska hosted the University at Buffalo on Saturday and Bulls quarterback Kyle Vantrease brought out the big boot at Memorial Stadium. Facing a fourth-and-5 deep in Cornhusker territory late in the second quarter and trailing 7-0, Buffalo kept the offense on the field. But Vantrease, as the broadcaster noted right on time, can punt. And punt he did, to the tune of an 81-yard bomb that just kept going and completely flipped the field for the Bulls.

With no one back to receive the punt for Nebraska, the ball actually soared way too far and bounced into the end zone for a touchback.

It’s not the most effective of punts net yardage wise, but considering the circumstances of the play, the Bulls will certainly take the field position switch and see what happens. And as Buffalo takes on the rest of the MAC later in the season, having a quarterback who can do that is certainly a unique weapon to utilize and keep defenses guessing on fourth down. No matter where UB is on the field, apparently.

‘The Boys’ Star Jack Quaid Says He Can’t Wait For Fans To See How ‘F**cked Up’ Season Three Will Be: ‘You’re Not Ready’

When it comes to what ongoing series is dishing out the most disturbing scenes on television, Amazon Prime Video’s The Boys might just have every other show beat, making what lead star Jack Quaid tweeted earlier today even more alarming than it already was. According to Quaid (The Boy’s Hughie Campbell), fans are “not ready” for “just how f**ked up” the series’ upcoming third season will be. Considering we’ve already seen multiple heads popped, bodies blown to bits, and gut-wrenching scenarios too messed up for most of us to have ever imagined, let’s just say we’re horrifyingly intrigued by the prospect.

The actor shared the foreboding remark in a tweet celebrating the cast and crew have wrapped production on the show’s third season, meaning the long-awaited next entry in the grim and gory superhero saga is nearly here. So, aside from a whole lot of capes and carnage, what can we expect from the new season? Well, aside from the shocking “Herogasm” episode that garnered a whole hell of a lot of buzz earlier this year, fans can expect to see a few new faces in season three, including director Eric Kripke Supernatural buddy Jensen Ackles.

In season three, Ackles is set to play Solider Boy, a Captain America-esque hero referred to as the “original supe.” However, keeping in line with The Boys tendency to mercilessly show the underbelly of superhero society, the valiant hero is anything but what he seems.

In addition to Quaid and Ackles, much of the series (still living) cast is slated to return to the series, including Antony Starr, Karl Urban, Erin Moriarty, Karen Fukuhara, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capon, Jessie T. Usher, Dominique McElligott, Chace Crawford, Nathan Mitchell, and the one and only Giancarlo Esposito. As of right now, the premiere date of the third season has yet to be announced but based on the project’s current schedule, it seems likely we could see it pretty early next year.

Mama Mia! It Appears Wario Took Over Nintendo’s Twitter Account

As if Mario didn’t have enough on his plate already, the little red guy is now facing a PR nightmare. In celebration of the release of WarioWare: Get it Together, Mario’s arch-nemesis, Wario, temporarily took over Nintendo of America’s Twitter account on Friday, posting leading polls, vulgar pictures and audio clips, and, naturally, a whole lot of manically laughter.

Oh, and just in case you’d rather hear all this laughter for yourself (as well as some other… bodily noises), here’s a small audio clip from the mustard-colored mustachio’d man himself.

For those who perhaps only know Wario through his appearances in games like Mario Kart or Super Smash Bros., the rude and crude Nintendo icon is also the star of his very own series, WarioWare. Starting in 2003 with WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$! on the Game Boy Advance, the WarioWare games are effectively compilations of extremely brief mini-games that bring out absolutely frenzied competitiveness in players. The newest entry in the series, WarioWare: Get it Together, hit Nintendo Switch earlier today, and features 200 minigames you can play with up to three other people.

Of course the Nintendo marketing stunt for Get it Together was fairly short-lived and the account has “been given back” to Nintendo of America, but there’s no denying that as much as Mario can’t stand his boisterous rival, the internet can’t get enough of him:

Oregon Picked Up A Huge Win Over Ohio State In An Early Season Showdown

The Oregon Ducks walked into Columbus and pulled up an upset on Saturday afternoon. In one of the more surprising early results of the college football season, the 12th ranked Ducks took down the No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes, 35-28, in a game that produced a whole lot of yards and plenty of fireworks.

The Ducks made clear early on that they were ready to play despite walking into a hostile environment at Ohio Stadium. Ohio State’s young and inexperienced defense ran into some serious problems against Oregon’s rushing attack, as the Ducks ran the ball 38 times for 269 yards and a trio of scores. The offensive line did what it set out to do, and the duo of CJ Verdell and Travis Dye did the rest.

Ducks signal caller Anthony Brown did what he needed to do through the air, completing 17 of his 35 passing attempts for 236 yards with two scores and, perhaps most importantly, no interceptions. While Oregon wasn’t really going for the big play through the air, Brown completed passes to 11 receivers, with Verdell and Moliki Matavao finding the end zone.

The Buckeyes did have some success on offense, particularly through the air, as CJ Stroud went 35-for-54 with 484 yards, three touchdowns, and a pick. The receiving trio of Jaxson Smith-Njigba (seven receptions, 145 yards, two touchdowns), Chris Olave (12 catches, 126 yards), and Garrett Wilson (eight catches, 117 yards, a score) were able to do a ton of damage against the Ducks defense, while standout freshman running back TreVeyon Henderson punched one in on the ground.

But ultimately, Ohio State kept running into trouble at inopportune times. They only converted six of their 15 third downs and went 2-for-5 when they went for it on fourth, while they committed eight penalties for 71 yards. A young team, the Buckeyes are certainly talented enough to get much better as the year rolls along — as we all know, early losses can be overcome in the eyes of the Playoff committee — but they ran into a team tailor-made to punish them early on in the year, and the Ducks certainly made that happen.

As for Oregon, this is the kind of gigantic road win that can potentially springboard a program that’s been looking to return to the Playoff for years. With how the Pac-12 has long been viewed in the eyes of the selection committee, picking up an early win in Columbus is the exact sort of feather in the Ducks’ hypothetical cap that can help them overcome a potential loss down the road. Whether or not that happens remains to be seen, but this will go down as one of the best wins of the Mario Cristobal era in Eugene.

The Notorious B.I.G’s Old Apartment Where He Recorded ‘Ready To Die’ Is Up For Sale

A lucky (and wealthy) person could be the next owner of a special property in Brooklyn, New York. The Notorious B.I.G.’s old apartment where he recorded his classic album, Ready To Die, has gone up for sale. According to The New York Post, the apartment — two-bedroom, two-bathroom property in the Fort Greene neighborhood of Brooklyn — is currently listed at $1.7 million. The property is also located blocks away from the Brooklyn street that was named after the late rapper.

Caroline Duncan, the costume designer The New York Post interview spoke with, spoke further about the apartment. “When I moved in, the basement was just a raw space with concrete floors,” she said. “I framed and put up all the walls and created a bathroom with barn wood and modern finishes.” She continued, “Upstairs had been carved into a series of puzzling small rooms so I did the opposite, and knocked down all the walls to create a lofted open space,” adding that she loved “the fact the building is on the Historic Register and had the bones of a true artist’s residence.”

This comes months after Biggie’s estate-approved Netlfix documentary Biggie: I Got A Story To Tell was released on the streaming platform. A description for the film said it “offers a fresh look at one of the greatest, most influential rappers of all time by those who knew him best” while labeling it as an “intimate rendering of a man whose rapid ascent and tragic end has been at the center of rap lore for more than twenty years.”

Swizz Beatz Responds To Drake’s Diss At Him From ‘Certified Lover Boy’

Drake’s Certified Lover Boy garnered plenty of attention for a number of disses the Toronto rapper sent towards Kanye West. But there was someone else who Drake took issue with on the album. On “You Only Live Twice,” his track with Rick Ross and Lil Wayne, the rapper took a shot at Swizz Beatz. “Unthinkable when I think of the way these n****s been acting,” he raps. “I never did you nothing and you play like we family, huh? Next thing, you wanna shoot me down, it can’t be love / Not sure where you was trynna send it, it can’t be up / That day you sounded like a b*tch, you fancy, huh?”

During an interview on The Angie Martinez Show, Swizz Beatz addressed the disses, but didn’t return fire (yet). “I’m chilling,” he said during the sit-down. “A lot of people want to see me react and do all these things, but I’m in such a great zone. I said how I felt, he said how he felt. Hey, man I guess we even. As far as now, I’m good … and I actually like the song.”

Swizz added, “And he didn’t go too crazy in the record also, you know? He could have said many things, that man is a clever artist. He could’ve really, really, really gave me about 40 bars. He said what he said. He got it off his chest. Blessing to everybody.”

Drake’s Swizz diss came after the latter took issue with Drake after his collaboration with Busta Rhymes leaked online. “That kid is a good kid as well,” Swizz said at the time. “He’s not a bad kid, he’s a good kid. He started from different things, we made hit record together, it’s all love. I just wanna play music. Because my filter is burnt. Because at the end of the day, n****s is p*ssy for real. What’s up? Pop off. Let’s go.”

George W. Bush Seemed To Make Some Thinly Veiled References To Jan. 6 And Rightwing Extremism In His 9/11 Memorial Speech

Saturday was the 20th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks, and to commemorate the occasion, former presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama made appearances at public ceremonies. Bush, who was in his first year in office at the time, spoke at both Shanksville, Pennsylvania and Ground Zero in New York City. And in his speech at the former, he mourned the divisions that plague the nation, while getting in some nudging references to the followers of another former president, who was otherwise engaged.

“In the weeks and months following the 9/11 attacks, I was proud to lead an amazing, resilient, united people,” Bush said. “When it comes to the unity of America, those days seem distant from our own.”

Bush admitted he didn’t have any “explanations or solutions” for the nation’s current ills. “I can only tell you what I’ve seen. On America’s day of trial and grief, I saw millions of people instinctively grab for a neighbor’s hand and rally to the cause of one another. That is the America I know.”

He also alluded to one of the major problems tearing apart America two decades later. “There is little cultural overlap between violent extremists abroad and violent extremists at home,” he said. “But in their disdain for pluralism, in their disregard for human life, in their determination to defile national symbols, they are children of the same foul spirit, and it is our continuing duty to confront them.”

Bush didn’t name any group by name, but considering that extremists on the right greatly outweigh those on the left, it wasn’t hard for many people to connect the dots.

Others, however, did not want to praise the president who oversaw the disastrous wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

You can watch Bush’s full speech in the tweet embedded above.

Freddie Gibbs Takes On Drake’s ‘Champagne Poetry’ With A Sharp Remix Of His Own

After delivering a collection of singles this earlier year, Freddie Gibbs made a string of strong guest verses, including appearances on Nas’ “Life Is Like A Dice Game,” Bobby Sessions’ “Gold Relox,” and Kenny Mason’s “Much Money.” Now, Freddie has dropped a remix of Drake’s Certified Lover Boy intro “Champagne Poetry.”

The new remix offers another sharp display of lyricism, which is something we’ve come to expect from the rapper. At one point on the song, Freddie seems to offer a response to Kendrick Lamar’s verse on Baby Keem’s “Family Ties.

“I was Big Rabbit before the birth of my son,” Freddie raps. “The earth ain’t big enough for the both of us, you gotta get done / they say they smoking Top 5s, but they ain’t smoke through the one.”

The remix brings us closer to the arrival of Freddie’s upcoming album SSS. During an interview with Nicolas-Tyrell Scott for MixMag, he listed Pharrell, Madlib, Working On Dying, The Alchemist, Sevn Thomas, Hit-Boy, and Mike Will Made-It as the possible production lineup for the upcoming album.

You can listen to Freddie’s remix in the video above.
