Drake Opened Up About Fatherhood, His Upcoming Album, And The Decision To Share Pictures Of His Son

Already with a promise to share his upcoming sixth album by summertime, Drake surprised fans with a mixtape to make the wait in the midst of a quarantine less grueling. The Dark Lane Demo Tapes project was composed of 14 songs, many of which Drake had released in the previous months or that had leaked to the internet. Following the project’s release, Drake took to Instagram Live to preview more music, some of which could appear on the upcoming album.

Drake later joined Lil Wayne for the second episode of his Young Money Radio show. There he explained his thought process behind the Dark Lane Demo Tapes project.

“We pieced a lot of those songs together and I put a few new joints on there, but really it was just instead of dropping a single right now,” he said. “It’s an interesting time for us all as musicians to figure out how this works and what people need. And I just felt like people would appreciate maybe a body of something to listen to as opposed to just one isolated song.”

Drake also opened up about his decision to share pictures of his two-year-old son Adonis last month.

I posted those pictures. It was great for me,” he said.” It was great to just share that with the world and I just felt like … It wasn’t even anything I talked to anybody about or anything I planned. I just woke up one morning and I was like, you know what? This is just something that I want to do….I want to be able to go places with my son and share memories with my son. I don’t want to feel like just because of a life choice I made to be a “celebrity” that I got to make everybody live under this blanket… I just wanted to free myself of that.

Drake later said that watching out artists, including Wayne, balance fatherhood with their music and tour life inspired to do the same with his own son.

A lot of us, like Chainz, is a great father and a lot of the guys that we came up around just being great family men on those tours and on those long studio nights when albums need to get done… But specifically you [Lil Wayne]… I could just tell the way your kids would stare at you that the time and effort that you put in as a father. So, that was really inspiring for me just to know that I can still keep pushing forward as a musician and be there for my son.”

Josh Hart Destroyed His Keyboard In A Fit Of Rage Over ‘Call Of Duty’

There are a number of NBA players that have turned to video games as their method of choice for passing the time during the NBA’s hiatus while the majority of the country is on stay-at-home orders.

It’s not just something that can eat hours of boredom, but it’s also a competitive release for pro athletes that are so accustomed to constantly having something to compete in. They also can stay connected to fans by streaming themselves gaming, offering some entertainment to the masses and giving folks a peek behind the curtain as to what they’re like when they’re not on the court.

Call of Duty is the preferred game of many NBA players, and Slam has been putting on a weekly COD tournament featuring NBA stars squaring off with streamers and others. Josh Hart is among those that takes his gaming seriously, and was a part of Saturday night’s action, which he was initially very excited to play.

However, during the competition Hart got killed despite thinking he was behind a wall and that glitch sent him into a fit of rage, yanking his keyboard out of his PC, slamming it on the ground, and then stomping it while screaming “f*ck this game,” over and over.

This is, of course, what can happen when you have hyper-competitive people playing video games on live streams. It is a hilarious moment of rage quitting , and Hart’s teammates laughing at him over the chat makes it even better. Hopefully Hart has a backup keyboard because that one is toast, and in honesty it’s smarter to destroy the keyboard than, say, the monitor, because it’ll be cheaper to replace.

Wale Fans Defended The Rapper After A Meme Claimed He Was Not One Of Hip-Hop’s Best

Twitter is a place where the opinions of all can run wild and free to be either upheld by fellow users or condemned by others. With all that time at home these days, people are leaning hard into memes, but one got some Wale fans considerably upset this weekend. The meme clips a short scene from a Family Guy episode that depicts four hands in a huddle on top of each other. A fifth hand attempts to join but, is gently pushed out of the group.

The clip presents the four hands with each labeled as Drake, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, and Travis Scott. The fifth hand that looks to join the group all to be pushed away was labeled as Wale. That got his fans, including Guapdad 4000, up in arms about the meme and its subsequent popularity.

Many Wale fans defended the rapper online as the meme wars escalated.

Wale himself caught wind of his name trending on Twitter, but decided not to peek through the curtain to see what all the fuss was about. Instead, he used the opportunity to promote his Wow.. That’s Crazy album and his recently released video for “Sue Me.”

Wale is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan Has Guestimated When ‘The Walking Dead’ Will Air Its Season Finale

It has been nearly a month now since The Walking Dead aired its pseudo-finale, and we haven’t yet been given a good sense of when AMC will finally air the official season finale. The last we heard anything was about a month ago, when showrunner Angela Kang said that the final episode was nearly finished with post-production, and that they only had another week or a week and a half to go. She suggested that once people began venturing back out into the world and getting back to work that the episode would probably air soon after that.

It may be a while, however, before anyone ventures back out into the world. California is still sheltered in place, and while Georgia is not, The Walking Dead production is probably not eager to return until they all know that it is safe to do so. Those who are beginning to talk about production resuming in the industry generally point to July, August, early September. That actually tracks with Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s guestimate for when The Walking Dead will return.

“We had fun filming [the finale],” Morgan told EW live, as he was promoting his AMC chat show, Friday Night in with the Morgans. “I’ll tell you that, but I do not know when they’re going to finish it. I reckon four or five months from now we’ll get to see it. Which will be cool. It will be cool having a one-off, almost a Walking Dead movie in the middle of the season, I guess. So we’re excited about that aspect of it.”

Four or five months from now would be around August or September. That actually makes sense, because AMC has slotted its horror series NOS4A2 into the Sunday night at 9 p.m. slot beginning on June 21st. That’s typically where a The Walking Dead series airs. NOS4A2 is scheduled to run until August 23rd. Labor Day follows soon after, and then the week after that, I expect that The Walking Dead will air its finale, which should be in the first week of September, or when the NFL would return, if it returns. In fact, I expect that The Walking Dead finale will finally also lead into the premiere of the spin-off, The World Beyond.

Whether season 11 will have begun production in Georgia by then, however, remains an open question.
