Yesterday (May 12), PinkPantheress revealed Charli XCX is on her collaboration wish list and Charli shared an encouraging response online. In PinkPantheress’ cover story with Paper Magazine, gushed at the idea of recording a track with Charli.
While discussing Charli XCX’s admiration of her Bridgerton-inspired video for “Tonight,” PinkPantheress was asked about crafting a banger with Charli.
“I mean, of course,” she answered PinkPantheress. “If the opportunity ever comes up, I would love to. I will say it makes me shit myself when I get recognition from any artists that I respect, for sure. It doesn’t matter who, genuinely, I get so excited.”
She continued: “When I get recognition from other artists, especially ones that I have looked up to for a long time. Even though I’ve met her, I just love getting praise and hearing praise.”
After the interview was published, Charli XCX shared her response to potential creative venture. “Well hello,” chimed Charli XCX on X (formerly Twitter).
PinkPantheress’ latest mixtape, Fancy That, was released days ago. So, if the pair are to collaborate it likely won’t happen until later in the year.

Yesterday (May 11), Twenty One Pilots played Manchester Arena in England without incident. However, what happened after their show set after an international investigation. In a now-viral clip (viewable here), a concertgoer is seen hauling off a piece of Twenty One Pilots’ drum kit (viewable here).
As user online slammed the unidentified person for violating the band’s trust, others began working to track down the individual. For hours, supporters of Twenty One Pilots combed through footage until finding the alleged culprit. With that information relayed to the band’s team, Twenty One Pilots’ tour photographer and videographer Sax confirmed it was ultimately returned.
“We Have The Drum,” wrote Sax on Instagram with a photo of the drum. “Thank you for all the tags and information. You guys rock!”
In a follow-up post, Sax shared a video of the instrument arriving to the team’s hotel. “The Drum Returns,” he captioned the clip (viewable here). “THANK YOU to everyone that helped, tagged, and supported the mission in bringing home The Drum. Let’s kick off the last two shows of ‘The Clancy World Tour’ THE RIGHT WAY!”
A printed copy of the show’s setlist or maybe some confetti are typical free performance souvenirs–not a stage instrument.
Last month, Beyoncé kicked off her Cowboy Carter Tour. With reviews from the “Texas Hold ‘Em” singer’s first five dates at Inglewood, California’s SoFi Stadium (including a poignant piece from Uproxx’s Senior Director, Editorial and Content Strategy, Philip Cosores), fans are ready to mosey on down to a show nearest them.
But rave reviews aren’t the only thing Bey can hang her Western hat on. According to Billboard, Beyoncé has already snagged a few new professional accomplishments.
Based on data submitted to Billboard Boxscore, the SoFi Stadium run of Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter Tour is the highest-grossing reported single-venue engagement ever by a woman. But it doesn’t stop there, racking in $55.7 million in gross ticket sales (217,000 tickets), the stretch is the biggest reported single-venue engagement of the year so far.
As far as 2025 shows go, Beyoncé beat out former collaborators Coldplay’s impressive sales of their 16-date Music Of The Spheres Tour run in Asia and Shakira’s Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran Tour stretch in Mexico City across seven nights.
With the Cowboy Carter Tour firmly holding onto Billboard Boxscore’s fifth-highest grossing tour stop record, it is now competing to knock off U2’s Sphere 2023-2024 residency in Las Vegas, Harry Styles’ 2022 Madison Square Garden 15-date shows run, and Take That’s eight night stretch at London’s Wembley Stadium in 2011.
Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter Tour will run until July. Analysts predict there are plenty more performance milestones to come.
Well, according to Deadline, Madonna’s wish of an autobiographical show might just come true. Today (May 12), the outlet exclusively reported that Madonna inked a deal with Netflix alongside Shawn Levy for the limited series.
Based on the insider information received, the project is supposedly already in the development stage. Although the series is not at all connected with the previously shelved feature film with Universal, sources say Julia Garner has “remained engaged” with Madonna. After Garner was announced as the lead for the Universal picture, the Inventing Anna actress was spotted out with Madonna including at her The Celebration Of Life Tour in December 2023.

Paramount Plus‘ original series do extend beyond Taylor Sheridan’s shows, and Guy Ritchie has been cleaning up with his current gangster series, MobLand, which revels in Shakespearean references. The show, which stars Tom Hardy as the fixer for Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren’s mob patriarch and matriarch, has been climbing in the ratings since debut, with a press release also claiming that the series premiere was “[b]iggest global series launch week ever” for the entire platform.
That’s saying a lot considering that the Yellowstone spin offs also do their thing on Paramount Plus, and there are still there more MobLand episodes to stream before a season finale. Early renewals are in vogue for ridiculously successful series, so let’s get down to the question of the day.
Has MobLand Been Renewed For Season 2?
Nope, but hang tight. Hardy has been teasing plans for the Harrigans and Harry to go “international” to continue for “more seasons,” as he told Hollywood Reporter:
“The plan is definitely to see more seasons. The question is: Does it become international? There are international elements to organized crime, which are touched on in season one and the control of drugs and ammunition and weapons and people and all kinds of things that go through Europe and from Africa through to South America, Pakistan and the variable commodities that move around Europe. There are families that are involved in each European country that are vying for power to have that status to be able to move these kind of commodities through and who polices that and how that fits into a world stage.”
We’ll be watching for updates, and the Ronan Bennett-created MobLand series is currently streaming seven episodes on Paramount Plus.
All due credit goes to HBO (and BBC) for allowing promising shows to build audiences and flourish rather than be cancelled quickly like *cough* some streaming services do. Word of mouth propelled sudsy finance drama Industry through that long-game approach before it emerged as one of the best shows on TV after last year’s season finale.
Following a fourth season renewal, word dropped that returning cast members include Myha’la, Ken Leung, Sagar Radia, Kit Harington, and Marisa Abela. And speaking of Abela, she took home a BAFTA award over the weekend for her no-holds-barred performance as the cold, conflicted Yasmin Kara-Hanani, whose daddy issues reached a fever pitch last season and will surely continue to reverberate. Abela told The Guardian of her character, “It’s not my place to judge her morally. I have to understand why she makes her decisions, and her dad behaves in a way that epitomises the narcissism that she grew up with.”
With Abela in the news, it’s a good time to wonder when Industry will be back.
Does Industry Season 4 Have A Release Date Yet On HBO?
HBO hasn’t let that information fly yet. Based upon the other seasons’ release dates (November 2020, August 2022, and August 2024), we can guess that the fourth season will arrive no later than August 2026. Then we shall find out whether or not Yasmin and Henry can still stand each other.
In addition to the other actors mentioned above, several new faces are joining Industry. They include Kal Penn, Kiernan Shipka, Charlie Heaton, and Jack Farthing. No Harry Lawtey, though? That’s right. Rob’s pure heart will go on by itself in California. He’ll be missed, especially (and secretly) by Yasmin.
Portola Festival has announced its 2025 lineup, featuring LCD Soundsystem, The Chemical Brothers (making their return after playing the inaugural festival in 2022), Christina Aguilera, and more. The festival, which was headlined by Rüfüs Du Sol & Gesaffelstein in 2024, is returning to San Francisco’s Pier 80 on Saturday, September 20 and Sunday, September 21.

This year’s Portola Festival will also include performances from Moby (his first in the Bay Area in over a decade), The Prodigy in their Portola debut, Dom Dolla, Peggy Gou, and Blood Orange. Also, after drawing noise complaints in its inaugural year and its follow-up in 2023, steps wre taken last year to accommodate the surrounding community; the festival’s organizers will undoubtedly be using what they’ve learnedto improve the experience even more. In an interview from a few days ago, Nicolas Cage said that he gets mistaken for musician Nick Cave just about daily. Now, Cave has shared his perspective on their similar names, as well as a terrific story about one time he was mistaken for Cage.
In his The Red Hand Files newsletter, he told a story about being at a bar in São Paulo and meeting a man named Diego. Cave is a great storyteller, so here’s him recounting the tale:
“As he asked me my name, the barman leaned over and said to him, ‘Dude, you’re talking to f*cking Nick Cave!’ Diego suddenly became super-animated, jumping around on his stool, saying that he loved me, that he was my greatest fan, and so on and so forth. He kept looking at me, then at his drink, shaking his head in wonder and saying, ‘Nick Cave. F*cking Nick Cave.’ Anyway, we sat there talking for a couple of hours, getting completely pissed, and then Diego started to turn maudlin. I asked him again if he was alright, and he burst into tears and said, ‘My wife kicked me out. Told me never to come back. She says she hates me.’ I was drunk, so I hugged him and asked, ‘Why does she hate you?’ He said, ‘She thinks I’m stupid.’ Then he pointed at me and said, ‘But she f*cking loves you. Just completely loves you.’ I said, ‘Really?’ He replied, ‘Yeah, Peggy Sue Got Married is her favourite film. She’s watched it like a hundred times.’ Then Diego started crying again. I was about to explain that he’d made a mistake and mixed me up with the actor, Nicolas Cage, but he looked up at me with such a pitiful mixture of tragedy and wonder that I didn’t have the heart. ‘She just loves you, man,’ he said. Then he asked me about my acting career. I said something like, ‘I’m just an ordinary person like you. Hollywood is not all it’s cracked up to be. It can be a cruel place. It gets lonely sometimes,’ and so on. After a while, I began to warm to my theme. I told him that making Raising Arizona was the most extraordinary experience and a highpoint in my career, that John Goodman was a fascinating and complex character, and how it was a real privilege to work with the Coen brothers and that they were ‘masters of their craft’ and all this bullsh*t. Eventually, Diego decided he should go back home and tell his wife, Ana, that he’d met her favourite actor, and that Nick Cave says he’s not stupid, and that he’s a good guy. Then he suggested that I come home with him and put in a good word. I tried to dissuade him, telling him that it was impossible as I had to be on a movie set early in the morning. Eventually, he relented, and instead we got a pen and a piece of paper from the barman, and I wrote —
Dear Ana, Diego is not stupid. He’s a good guy. Love, Nic Cage.
Diego hugged and kissed me and stumbled out of the door, waving the note in his hand. The barman leaned over and said, ‘His wife’s got a point.’”

The Boys debuted near the tail end of the MCU’s better days, and Prime Video/Amazon‘s Bad Supe franchise is still going strong as James Gunn’s DCU takes shape. However, The Boys is winding down while the Gen V spin off is now firmly established with prequel series Vought Rising in the works. Before that show launches, we gotta see Homelander lose it for good, so let’s talk about how The Boys‘ fifth season might torture his psyche and more.
Plot

To be perfectly blunt, Amazon has managed to reveal almost nothing about this final season’s plot. As showrunner, Kripke has also revealed that filming began last November with scripts only half written. He stressed that this isn’t uncommon for the satiric, superhero-skewering show since current events have forced last minute changes, so even if concrete plot hints had dropped, they could completely change by air time.
However, we can take some semi-educated guesses. Plot armor is now gone, so anybody and everybody could croak. Yay? Also, Butcher is likely working out how to use the virus as a weapon of mass destruction. Starlight and A-Train re the Supes most likely to free Hughie, MM, Kimiko, and Frenchie. Homelander has so many enemies, and that list has grown since he became de facto U.S. president. He will be beholden to Sister Sage, and it would be amazing if she turned on him and helped to take him out. For that matter, a satisfying Homie obliteration could come from Butcher, Ashley, Soldier Boy, Hughie, and others, but Eric Kripke (while speaking with TV Insider) has also made it sound like he remains his own worst enemy while really wanting Soldier Boy to come through as his father:
“Yeah, no, he is. The thing about Homelander — and I was just talking to Antony about this yesterday — is it’s sort of tragic, actually, but ultimately, the guy just wants someone to love him. He tries amassing all of this power just so someone somewhere will love him, but they’re all scared of him because of all that power. And I think the same goes for Soldier Boy… [Homelander] just wants a dad to love him and be proud of him. And without spoiling anything in Season 5, I would say, because the revelation that Soldier Boy was his father came so late in Season 3, we never really got the chance to play it, but actually playing this father-son relationship between those two characters, there’s a lot of material to mine there and a lot of fraught emotional turns. So we’re able to dig into that in Season 5, and it has been a blast watching those two actors play off each other in the dailies.”
Then there’s the Supernatural reunion of Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy being thawed out after bringing Homie to tears upon discovery. Kripke recently weighed in with TV Insider on how these characters cross paths:
Behind the scenes, the fun has already been captured as Kripke shares, “It’s a blast. We already shot it.” And for anyone wondering which actors will share the screen with one another, Kripke adds, “I will confirm that Jared, Jensen, and Misha are all in the same frame together, and in the same storyline, and interacting with each other.”
Another major question remains: what will Ashley be like as a Supe? The last season finale featured her possibly Hulking out after taking Compound V in sheer desperation. The resulting transformation looked painful for her and showed her scalp beginning to pulsate. Colby Minifie has admitted that she hopes this is “humiliating” for Ashley:
“As we’ve seen, when V first enters your body, the historic visual on the show is that it enters your bloodstream and things start happening in your blood, and it takes over your body. So what we’re hinting at is something’s going to happen! We don’t know if she survives or dies, but I have pitched some things of what her superpower could be — they’re all humiliating. I don’t know what they’re gonna do, or how they’ll see that to fruition. But it will be something crazy.”
A fitting possibility includes “super hair” akin to Medusa. After Homelander made Ashley’s hair fall out from stress (and then he publicly dragged her for being bald), those snakes would be an incredible way to squeeze him into submission. Hey, somebody needs to do this.
Cast
At this moment, the official lineup of The Seven includes Antony Starr (Homelander), Chace Crawford (Deep), Susan Heyward (Sister Sage), Nathan Mitchell (Black Noir), and Valorie Curry (Firecracker). Yup, that’s only Five, but A-Train (Jessie T. Usher) recently left the building and will be part of the fifth season, surely behind enemy lines. The same goes for Starlight (Erin Moriarty) officially being part of the rebellion. Other confirmed The Seven-tangential returns include Colbie Minifie (as Supe-d up Ashley) and Homelander’s son, Ryan (Cameron Crovetti). Meanwhile, Daveed Diggs nabbed a secret role.
Also, showrunner Eric Kripke’s Supernatural reunion is adding Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins (who knows what roles?) to the existing equation of Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s imaginary Joe Kessler and Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy, who will also be warming up for Vought Rising.
Detained rebels will include Jack Quaid (Hughie), Laz Alonso (Mother’s Milk), Karen Fukuhara (Kimiko), and Tomer Capone (Frenchie). Where is Karl Urban’s Billy Butcher? Working on a dastardly plan with that Supe virus in tow when Urban isn’t exercising middle fingers on-set with Quaid for funsies.
We can also plan on seeing ghostly Becca Butcher (Shantel Van Santen) and potential returns from Cindy (Ess Hödlmoser) and Gen V‘s Sam (Asa Germann) and Cate (Maddie Phillips).
Release Date
Gen V will return in Summer 2025, and The Boys will return sometime in 2026. From there, Vought Rising will probably arrive in 2027, and The Boys: Mexico (with Diego Luna and Gael García Bernal) remains “a while away” from an official greenlight, according to Eric Kripke.

We won’t see a trailer until after Gen V‘s next season surfaces, but it’s worth reliving the moment when an unimpressed Sister Sage unsettled Homelander while he recruited her for The Seven.
Megan Thee Stallion doesn’t just watch anime. She’s also a fan of Grey’s Anatomy. Or Killing Eve. Or maybe Sideways. Something with Sandra Oh in it, based on her reaction to meeting the actress at the 2025 Gold House Gold Gala on Saturday (May 10) at the Music Center in Los Angeles.
“You’ll never believe who I just seen,” Megan Thee Stallion said while standing next to Oh. “Bam! Oh my god! The icon, the legend. Wow! Come kill me. Whoa!” The “Whenever” rapper added that her “whole year’s made” and that she finally feels “famous.”
If only Meg had turned around at that moment and seen someone whose star power is greater than hers and Oh’s combined. I won’t spoil the surprise, but trust me, it’s worth watching the video.
Megan Thee Stallion also recently attended the 2025 Met Gala, where she broke the event’s “no phones” policy. “We are trying food at the Met,” Megan said in the video, which also features basketball player Angel Reese and rapper Doechii. They sampled white truffle lobster rolls, hamachi, vegan lox, and truffle chopped cheese, as prepared by chef Kwame Onwuachi. Their favorite? The cornbread with caviar. “We went in three times,” Reese said.
