It Was So Hot Outside In Phoenix That 50 Cent Had To Postpone His Show There

50 Cent is currently on his Final Lap Tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of his breakout, J. Cole-favorite debut, Get Rich Or Die Tryin’. But while the tour’s setlist includes fan-favorite tracks like “Disco Inferno,” the temperatures in one destination got so high that the bulletproof rapper-turned-mogul had to bail.

On Monday, he tweeted, “Due to extreme heat, the show tomorrow in Phoenix, AZ is being postponed. For anyone who would like a refund, please go to point of purchase for instructions. I’ll be back in Arizona soon! 116 degrees is dangerous for everyone.” Of course, he couldn’t just express concern for fans’ wellbeing without also throwing in some of his trademark humor, so he included a few photos of his concert’s pyrotechnics along with the screenshot of the excessive heat warning from his weather app.

According to Billboard, excessive heat has affected numerous shows in the past few months; 16 people were hospitalized at a Snoop Dogg show in Houston last week, while July shows with Ed Sheeran and Jason Aldean saw similar results. 17 people were hospitalized at Sheeran’s show in Pittsburgh, while Aldean’s Hartford tour opener ended early when the singer turned out to be dehydrated with heat exhaustion.

The summer heat — which many believe is driven by human-caused climate change — is no joke. Make sure you stay inside if possible and drink LOTS of water. However much you think you need — double it. Stay safe out there.

Fox News Has Started Pulling Out The Long Knives For Smarmy Pharma Bro Vivek Ramaswamy

Swarmy pharma bro Vivek Ramaswamy, a self-proclaimed “scientist” who has “developed a number of medicines,” came out of the first GOP debate with some serious momentum thanks to the absence of Donald Trump. However, that surge has also put a target on his back that Fox News seems eager to fire at.

Shortly after Ramaswamy got slapped with a cease and desist from Eminem, who did not appreciate the pharma bro’s impromptu performance of “Lose Yourself” at the Iowa State Fair, the GOP candidate got grilled by Sean Hannity over his campaign policies regarding Israel. The two went at it almost immediately as Hannity hammered Ramaswamy and his penchant for saying he’s been misquoted.

Via Mediaite:

The interview became confrontational straight out of the gate after Hannity opened, “You said aid to Israel, our number one ally, only democracy in the region, should end in 2028 and that they should be integrated with their neighbors.”

“That’s false,” Ramaswamy protested.

“That was the exact quote. You want me to read it?” Hannity asked.

After Ramaswamy attempted to clarify his remarks, Hannity hit him again by asking if the candidate even understood “the importance of the strategic alliance” and “intelligence sharing in an area of the world where we have a lot of enemies.” Ramaswamy responded, “I understand it I think more deeply than probably anybody in this race.”

The Fox and Friends crew wasn’t convinced. The morning talk show aired clips from Ramaswamy’s interview with Hannity, and once again, hammered the GOP candidate for his questionable views on both Israel and China.

“I don’t get it,” Brian Kilmeade said, prompting Steve Doocy to respond, “He’s wrong about all that foreign policy stuff. It’s that easy.”

As for Ramaswamy’s claim to be a “scientist” who’s “developed a number of medicines,” here’s what the New York Times reported about that.

The reality of Mr. Ramaswamy’s business career is more complex, the story of a financier more than a scientist, and a prospector who went bargain hunting, hyped his vision, drew investment and then cashed out in two huge payouts — totaling more than $200 million — before his 35th birthday.

Mr. Ramaswamy’s enterprise is best known for a spectacular failure. As a 29-year-old with a bold idea and Ivy League connections, he engineered what was at the time the largest initial public offering in the biotechnology industry’s history — only to see the Alzheimer’s drug at its center fail two years later and the company’s value tank.

He’s starting to sound more and more like a less polished bullsh*t artist than Trump with each passing day.

Taylor Swift Seemingly Nodded To The Infamous Kanye West VMAs Incident With An On-Stage Joke

Taylor Swift wrapped up her Mexico City run of The Eras Tour over the weekend — treating fans to possibly a little bit of shade during her Sunday show. During the Evermore section of the show (where fans usually cheer for long periods of time after “Champagne Problems”), Swift had a joke to make about the running bit at her concerts.

“It’s the best way to be interrupted, by the way, just people chanting your name,” she said. “It’s really the only way to be interrupted, and I would know,” Swift then added, appearing to drop a nod to the infamous 2009 VMAs incident with Kanye West.

Over the weekend, she also treated fans to a long-awaited surprise song with her performance of “Cornelia Street” from her Lover album. “You’ve been beyond patient and supportive, and it’s taken us this long to come here and play for you,” she told them. “So I wanted to play a song tonight that a lot of the fans have been requesting for the whole tour.”

Still, in videos taken from the show, Swift seemed emotional about playing that specific song, but she was able to snap back with some jokes at a following tour date.

Check out the video of her seemingly laughing at the VMAs situation above.

It Will Not Surprise You To Learn That The Teaser Trailer For David Fincher’s ‘The Killer’ Looks Great

The Killer has a killer poster — and a great trailer.

Netflix has released the teaser trailer for The Killer, David Fincher‘s first movie since 2020’s Best Picture nominee Mank (and his first time working with screenwriter Andrew Kevin Walker since Se7en). The thriller stars Michael Fassbender as an assassin who “battles his employers, and himself, on an international manhunt he insists isn’t personal,” according to the official plot synopsis.

You can watch the teaser above.

Fincher, a.k.a. Da Finchman, described The Killer as a “revenge” movie in a director’s statement for the Venice International Film Festival, where it will premiere. “The Killer is my attempt to reconcile notions I’ve had for years about cinematic stories and their telling. I have always held ‘What were you doing in Chinatown? ‘As little as possible” to be the single greatest evocation of backstory I’ve ever heard,” he said. “I was also playfully curious about the revenge genre as a tension delivery-system. So when Mr. Walker came aboard and fully embraced these notions/questions about broad brushstrokes of understanding giving way to the blind-stitch of ‘moment expansion,’ I felt we needed to try something.”

The Killer, which also stars Tilda Swinton, Charles Parnell, Arliss Howard, Kerry O’Malley, Sophie Charlotte, Sala Baker, Emiliano Pernía, Gabriel Polanco, comes to select theaters on October 27th before making its Netflix debut on November 10th.

Enter Aquaman: Jason Momoa Jumped In The Mosh Pit At A Metallica Show

Jason Momoa was at a Metallica show this weekend. A likely place for him to be, considering his fondness for throwing up the devil horns. John Travolta, Mötley Crüe’s Tommy Lee, and reality show enemy Tom Sandoval also saw the metal legends play at SoFi Stadium, but unlike Momoa, they weren’t in the pit.

Entertainment Weekly reports that the “Aquaman and Fast X star was spotted thoroughly enjoying himself at Metallica’s concerts in Los Angeles on Friday and Sunday.” He caught Pantera while they were in town as well. In a video shared by TMZ, which you can watch above, you can see Momoa bouncing around a circle pit; he doesn’t stand out as much as Shaq, but it’s close.

Momoa himself shared memories from the concerts in a sweet Instagram post Sunday. Along with a series of photos and videos, he explained that he was supposed to attend with his close friend Travis Snyder, who has leukemia, but due to an emergency surgery he couldn’t attend.

Momoa arranged a FaceTime call between Snyder and members of Metallica. “We had it all set up. I’m so thankful for everyone who made it possible for @thetravissnyder to see @metallica and @panteraofficial with @tommorello,” he wrote. “This was a dream for travis and Unfortunately we had some emergency for him last night but he’s good and healing. Still needs your aloha and mana. But im so thankful for @metallica for connecting with him. You guys are the soundtrack to our lives. And mahalo for donating to Maui.”

What’s Momoa’s favorite Metallica song? I know the answer for his Game of Thrones co-star: “Jump in the Fire.”

Trump Was Compared To An ‘Axe Murderer’ By A Prominent Republican In A CNN Appearance

Donald Trump has been called a lot of things: “a very stable genius,” “handsome,” “a smart person.” Oh wait. Those are just the compliments he’s given himself over the years. But I’m fairly confident he’s never been called an “axe murderer” before, until now.

CNN contributor and former Georgia Lieutenant Governor Geoff Duncan ripped Trump during an appearance on CNN‘s The Source on Monday. “As a Republican, the dashboard is going off with lights and bells and whistles telling us all the warning things we need to know,” he said, according to Newsweek. “Ninety-one indictments, fake Republican, $8 trillion worth of debt. Everything we need to see to not choose him as our nominee, including the fact he’s got the moral compass of more like an axe murderer than a president.”

Duncan also had some harash words for Trump’s former chief of staff, Mark Meadows, who took the stand in Georgia earlier that day.

CNN host Kaitlan Collins noted that in his memoirs, Meadows said his job was to inform the “most powerful man in the world” when he was in the wrong, and suggested he “didn’t do that when it probably mattered the most.” Duncan agreed, commenting: “Well, he must’ve whispered it in his ear and not said it out loud, because I certainly have never seen examples of him standing up to Donald Trump.

Grimes Has A Lot Of Thoughts About The Weeknd’s ‘The Idol’ Getting Canceled: ‘It Had Its Flaws But I Am So Tired Of Everything Being Perfect’

After months of doubt about whether The Weeknd’s controversial HBO series The Idol would return for a second season, it was made official yesterday (August 28): No, the show is not continuing. Grimes, a fan of The Idol, was bummed about the cancellation news, as she revealed on X (formerly Twitter).

In a series of tweets, Grimes discussed what she liked about the show, what she wanted to see from it next, and some other things she noticed. She wrote:

“Call me crazy but I rly loved the idol. I feel like they didn’t have time to finish it but it reminded me of perfect blue meets basic instinct kinda? I wish they could have another season to rly get into the Machiavellian femme fatale arc w Depp.

When I saw perfect blue my main thought was it would have been better if she was the villain. I feel like the idol was gonna go there but it felt like they didn’t have enough time to get there. The music is also p good in it honestly – I wasn’t expecting that.

I liked the over the top dialogue – it felt like an homage to a lot of things I miss, it also reminded me of anime the way Brit Marling’s the OA feels like irk anime. If u imagine it animated it rly works – tho depp is totally magnetic on screen I wouldn’t trade the casting

Nina mcneelys choreo is also just astoundingly good especially depps solo near the end of the season. Jennie did suchhh a good job w those dance sequences too- it was mimicking something more basic but actually rly elevated and gorgeous.

I wanted so much more of the red hair journalist arc. Idk, it had it flaws but I am so tired of everything being perfect. I loved the messiness and the humanity and the self indulgence. U could tell everyone was loving filming it. I ride for the idol haha idk.”

Adele Reportedly Collapsed Backstage At A Las Vegas Residency Concert And Explained To Fans What Happened

Adele has seemingly been having a ball at her Weekends With Adele concert residency in Las Vegas, but she appears to have hit a bit of a snag at a recent concert.

People reports that Adele collapsed backstage at a show due to a flare-up of her sciatica. She reportedly later told the audience, “They picked my whole body up off the floor. I am going to sit down and rest my sciatica.”

She spoke about having sciatica, a spinal condition that can cause pain and discomfort in the legs and back, at a January concert, saying, “I have to waddle these days as I have really bad sciatica.” In February, she elaborated, “Is anyone else kind of my age starting getting bad knees? I have got really bad sciatica in my left leg and my L5 disc is not f*cking there anymore. It’s worn away.”

In a 2021 interview, she explained that she’s long had back issues, but that recent improvements to her general health have made them less impactful, saying, “I’m more agile because I can now move more, because of my back. I got my core strong. I slipped my first disc when I was 15 from sneezing. I was in bed and I sneezed and my fifth one flew out. In January, I slipped my sixth one, my L6. And then where I had a C‑section, my core was useless. I’ve been in pain with my back for, like, half of my life, really. It flares up, normally due to stress or from a stupid bit of posture. But where I got my tummy strong, down at the bottom, which I never had before, my back don’t play up as much. It means I can do more, I can run around with my kid a little bit more.”

Who Are The Openers For Zach Bryan’s ‘Burn, Burn, Burn Tour?’

First off of the release of his new self-titled album, featuring the breakout track, “I Remember Everything,” Zach Bryan is gearing up to be an extremely busy man in 2024. Despite currently being on the road, Bryan has announced that in 2024, he will kick off another lengthy tour with several friends. But his focus is now his Burn, Burn, Burn Tour. With only a few dates remaining, who were the tour’s openers?

The featured acts that embarked on the nationwide journey included Charles Wesley Godwin, Trampled By Turtles, Jonathan Peyton, and JR Carroll. Each of the entertainers shares a close relationship with Bryan. When he first revealed the tour dates on Instagram, Bryan referred to the musicians as: “My favorite bands in the world.”

The Burn, Burn, Burn Tour has sold out across the country, and thanks to Bryan’s determination, he found a way to do it without wrangling Ticketmaster into submission to ensure fans were not faced with headaches at the time of purchase. In a note posted to his Instagram page, he discussed the reasoning behind his decision, which was captioned, “I didn’t care about selling out the tour in thirty seconds, I cared about people getting reasonably priced tickets. We sold all the tickets in 3 waves to actual fans, we hired teams to limit bots, and we sacrificed a lot of personal things to give real people, real seats.”

View the remaining tour below dates for Zach Bryan’s Burn, Burn, Burn Tour.

08/29 — Lincoln, NE @ Pinnacle Bank Arena
08/30 — Kansas City, MO @ T-Mobile Center

Zach Bryan is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Ronald Acuna Jr. Laughed Off Two Fans Running Onto The Field And Knocking Him Over In Colorado

Ronald Acuña Jr. is the favorite to win NL MVP honors this season, as he has the Braves in first place and is putting forth an incredible season with a .330 batting average, 28 home runs, 74 RBI, and 59 stolen bases.

On Monday night, Acuña and the Braves were in Colorado and a pair of fans decided to get much too close to the right fielder, running out onto the field between innings and knocking Acuña over in the process before getting hauled off by security.

The outfield angle from the stands shows the first fan seemingly running in with a phone to get a hug and a selfie from Acuña, with the second fan charging in after security began prying the first fan away from the Braves star, knocking Acuña to the ground and then getting physically picked up and hauled off like a mid-tantrum toddler.

We have no idea what the second guy could possibly have been doing, if he was a friend of the first guy, or what, but it was good that Acuña was smiling and laughing after what was a bizarre and potentially scary situation. It’s not a great display from the Coors Field security team that not one but two fans were able to get all the way to the star, but they did redeem themselves with the effort to carry the guys away — particularly the second guy who was going crazy.

For his part, Acuña bounced back quickly as he drove in three runs with a bases clearing double in the top of the 9th inning to put a cherry on top of a 14-4 win for the Braves, padding his robust stat line and continuing to make his MVP case.

Acuña’s resume this season is fairly unimpeachable, but he certainly added some style points on Monday night as he continues raking at the plate, finishing this game with four hits, one walk, one home run, five RBI, and two idiots shaken off.
