Coco Jones’ major-label debut EP What I Didn’t Tell You hit No. 1 on Apple Music’s US R&B/Soul Chart, and she told Uproxx how she commemorated the accomplishment.

What Time Does Guns N’ Roses Go On Stage For Their 2023 Tour?

Guns N’ Roses already co-headlined Glastonbury Festival 2023 earlier this summer, and they’ll do the same for the inaugural Power Trip Festival this October, but sandwiched in between are several North American dates for their ongoing world tour.

On Friday, August 11, Guns N’ Roses performed at Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The iconic rock band will then fittingly hit iconic venues such as MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey (August 15), Boston’s Fenway Park (August 21), and Chicago’s Wrigley Field (August 24).

According to setlist.fm, Guns N’ Roses took the Hersheypark Stadium stage at 7:45 p.m. local time.

The North American leg began on August 5 at Croix-Bleue Medavie Stadium in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, followed by a show at Parc Jean Drapeau in Montreal, Canada on August 8. Axl Rose, Slash, Duff McKagan, Dizzy Reed, Richard Fortus, Frank Ferrer, and Melissa Reese are said to have started at 8 p.m. local time in Moncton and 8:25 p.m. local time in Montreal. Carrie Underwood tagged along as Guns N’ Roses’ special guest, and she’ll return for the August 26 show in Nashville, Tennessee.

Setlist.fm has also chronicled this tour’s setlist so far, including their 1988 No. 1 hit “Sweet Child O’ Mine” and other classics like “Welcome To The Jungle,” “Paradise City,” “November Rain,” “Patience,” and “You Could Be Mine.”

Cobrah Indulges Every Impulse In Her High-Fashion ‘Manic’ Video

Cobrah is slated to perform at Portola Music Festival on Sunday, October 1, at Pier 80 in San Francisco, California. She has a new song to add to her setlist.

On Friday, August 11, the Swedish artist released her synthy “Manic” single alongside an artistic visual. Directed by Ribal Hosn and Kurt Johnson, the video finds Cobrah alone in an all-white room. She has a mask over her face as she sings, “I’m not dramatic / I just get a little manic / One, two, three, and here comes panic.”

Cobrah’s melodic delivery is as mesmerizing as the high fashion she’s sporting while performing. The mesh mask is only a precursor to black fishnet and white latex bodysuits. She’s tied in chains one minute and drinking water bursting from a pipe the next. Cobrah embodies the song’s message in every sense, which is on par with how she described her artistry to i-D Magazine in early 2020.

“When I tell people I’m an artist, they usually ask if I’m a singer, which I wouldn’t necessarily say I am,” Cobrah told the publication. “Then they ask if I’m a rapper, and I guess that’s maybe more accurate. I think being an artist is about way more than the instrument you play. It’s about your whole output as a person: you have to live it, love it and express every part of it in many different forms… not just music.”

Calvin Harris And Sam Smith Fuel Their ‘Desire’ In The Single’s Freewheeling Video

Sam Smith and Calvin Harris released their high-octane single “Desire” last month. “With Smith’s powerfully recognizable vocals and Harris being the guiding light on production, it is in good company among this year’s summer hits,” Uproxx’s Lexi Lane wrote. The accompanying video dropped on Friday, August 11, and only amplified the track’s intensity.

The three-minute visual starts with Smith sat on a pile of tires, but they’re only briefly idle before a drag race busts out. The pulsating beat underscores the dangerous driving as Smith sings, “Lead me to the light / You are my desire / And just the thought of you is keeping me awake.”

Harris eventually joins the group. They drive through a tunnel, spin around in an empty parking lot while hanging out of the windows, and literally throw all caution to the wind.

Smith can probably relate to the whiplash nature of the video considering they’re in the middle of the North American leg of their Gloria The Tour. Their next date is Saturday, August 12, at Bell Centre in Montreal before hitting Chicago’s United Center (August 15), Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota (August 16), and Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado. See all of Smith’s upcoming dates here.

Meanwhile, Harris has a few August dates at Ushuaïa Ibiza in Spain, where he played “Desire” upon its release.

“Desire is finally out! So buzzing to get to work with @samsmith again, and on a tune like this!?!!?? Come onnnnn,” Harris captioned an Instagram video on July 31. (Harris and Smith previously collaborated on “Promises” in 2018.)

Ashnikko Blended ‘Bring It On’ And ‘Midsommar’ To Make Their Unflinching ‘Cheerleader’ Video

“Bring it on, b*tch,” Ashnikko sings in “Cheerleader,” the latest single from their upcoming Weedkiller album, and it isn’t an empty invitation. The accompanying Joanna Nordahl-directed video shows, yet again, that Ashnikko is here for it all.

According to press release, the “Cheerleader” video “melds elements of folklore and surrealism, drawing inspiration from the cinematic atmospheres of Midsommar and the fierce energy of Bring It On.”

In just over two minutes, Ashnikko and their crew let loose in a misty, ominous forest. She scoffs at traditional beauty standards (“God made me pretty / You made me mean / I brought a blade to the dance routine”) and replaces them with visceral descriptions of empowerment (“Honey, I’m the lead role, you don’t even feature”).

“If youth and beauty are the currency, I will pay it in full until I am a withered husk decomposing on the moss and going back to mother earth,” Ashnikko said in a statement. “The beast looms in my periphery, constantly gazing and assessing as perform for him, hoping I am good enough!!!!!!!”

“Cheerleader” follows “Possession Of A Weapon,” which was Ashnikko’s response to the overturning of Roe v. Wade. “You Make Me Sick!,” “Worms,” and “Weedkiller” have also been released as singles ahead of the August 25 arrival of Weedkiller.

Hawk drops snake on Texas woman, then tries to take it back in real-life horror story

You know how sometimes you read a story that seems like it couldn’t possibly be true, and when you find out it is, you think, “Yeah, I didn’t actually need to know that could happen”?

This is one of those stories. And I’m only a little bit sorry for sharing it because it’s also one of those stories where every detail gets more and more incredible (or in this case, worse and so much worse). I mean, it’s a real-life story that starts with a snake falling out of the sky, for crying out loud. Cue the horror soundtrack.

Peggy Jones, 64, told Fox 26 Houston that she was driving her riding lawnmower in the yard of her home in Silsbee, Texas, when out of nowhere, a snake landed on her from above. Before she could even wrap her mind around what was happening, the snake coiled itself around her arm and began to strike at her face, repeatedly hitting her glasses.

That would be more than enough all by itself, but that’s not where this horror story ends. The hawk that had presumably dropped the snake really wanted it back.

As Jones tried to fling the snake off her arm, the hawk swooped down to retrieve it. Unfortunately, that entailed clawing at the woman’s forearm, trying to pull the snake off as it clung to her arm for dear life.

“The snake was squeezing so hard, and I was waving my arms in the air. And then, this hawk was swooping down clawing at my arm over and over,” Jones told NBC affiliate KPRC-TV. “I just kept saying, ‘Help me, Jesus, Help me, Jesus.’’

Totally makes sense. When you’re living out not one but two highly bizarre nature nightmares, all you can do is pray.

We humans, even with all of our technological and scientific advancements, are fairly helpless in the face of Mother Nature doing her thing. Jones said the hawk attacked four times before finally getting hold of the snake and successfully pulling it from her arm.

Thankfully, the snake only managed to chip her glasses a bit, but the damage done by the hawk’s talons was significant, and Jones has her arm wrapped in gauze to heal. But the physical recovery is a whole different beast than the emotional one.

“The nightmares. The nightmares are horrific. They’re terrible,” she told Fox 26 Houston. Jones has a fake snake that she wraps around her arm as a form of therapy to remind herself that the likelihood of anything like that ever happening again is slim to none.

Thank goodness that’s true, because this is a scenario no one would ever want to find themselves in.

After Playing Coachella, Four Tet Was Humbled By His Daughter And Her ‘Deeply Unimpressed’ Friends

Four Tet (real name Kieran Hebden) supplemented Skrillex’s headlining set at HARD Summer last weekend, and the UK-bred DJ gushed about the experience on Instagram.

“We did HARD Summer. Made this track the day before. Shout out to @skrillex,” Hebden captioned an Instagram video of the crowd going wild to his and Skrillex’s new song. “I love all this bonkers stuff we get to do.”

Hebden closing out the second weekend of Coachella 2023 alongside Skrillex and Fred Again.. was also objectively bonkers, but don’t think for a second that the 45-year-old artist is letting it all go to his head.

“That concept was coming at me after Coachella — ‘He’s finally getting the success he deserves’ – but it didn’t really feel like that,” Hebden told The Guardian for a lengthy profile published on Friday, August 11. “I did Coachella, and the next gig was a three-and-a-half-hour set at my daughter’s 13th birthday party to 20 teenage girls, who I felt looked at me deeply unimpressed the whole time.”

Hebden’s endearing relationship with his daughter was also illustrated through this anecdote:

“And so it was, a fortnight before headlining Madison Square Garden with Fred Again.. and Skrillex on Valentine’s weekend, that Hebden asked his daughter, a devout Swiftie, to propose the most romantic Taylor Swift song he could remix. She sat beside him, half-interested, as he tracked down an a cappella version of ‘Love Story’ and programmed a fiendishly simple beat styled after ‘Romanian minimal techno.’

He premiered the remix to a warm reception at Times Square; at Madison Square Garden, with his daughter in tow, it brought down the house. ‘She ran up and her and Fred were dancing together,’ Hebden remembers, absent-mindedly placing a hand on his heart. ‘She knew I’d made it for her.’”

Woman discovers the adorable reason why all the dogs won’t leave the same spot on the lawn

A TikTok user named Trisha became alarmed after her senior dog, Jackie, seemed particularly captivated by a specific patch on the yard. The spot on the lawn was also of keen interest to the neighbor’s dog, who was poking his nose through the fence, trying to get a closer look.

When Trisha went out to inspect the mysterious patch of grass, she realized the dogs were watching over a snug little burrow, home to a clutch of adorable baby bunnies.

“[My other dog] George didn’t care too much about them,” Trisha told The Dodo. “I think he was confused at what they are … Jackie seemed to want to just babysit.”

@simtrisha

Hope they all let them be. #bunnies #babies #rabbit #babybunny #cute #animaltok #adorable #awe

At first, Trisha was worried that the dogs may want to harm the cute little bunnies, but that wasn’t an issue. They almost seemed to be protecting the bunnies. Seeing how our four-legged friends can show such care and concern for even the tiniest neighbors is heartwarming.

To ensure the babies are safe, Trisha and her husband set up a security camera to monitor the borrow, and they found a surprise guest coming in at night. It was the bunnies’ mom coming to check on them. Trisha believes that the mother lives beneath her house.

Trisha, her husband, and the dogs will only have a few more weeks to watch over the bunnies. Typically, at about 3 weeks, they are ready to leave the burrow and venture out on their own.

Good luck, little fellas. We’ll be rooting for you.

After a tragic birth story out of Atlanta, an OBGYN breaks down ‘maneuvers of last resort’

TRIGGER WARNING: This story contains graphic details of childbirth trauma and infant loss.

A couple in Atlanta, Georgia, experienced a devastating loss that by all stretches of the imagination seems impossible. Unfortunately, the unimaginable is one of the rarest of rare birth complications that resulted in the loss of their newborn son.

Jessica Ross and her partner, Treveon Taylor, were excitedly awaiting the delivery of their first child when during the pushing stage of labor, baby Treveon Taylor Jr.’s shoulder got stuck. According to the Cleveland Clinic, shoulder dystocia is when one or both of the baby’s shoulders get stuck behind a bone in the pelvis, which doesn’t allow the baby to exit the birth canal.

Ross found herself in this very situation, which eventually resulted in an emergency situation in which the doctor had to dislodge the baby from the pelvis and perform a Cesarean section. It is suspected that the force with which the baby was dislodged caused the infant’s decapitation.

Doctors and nurses on TikTok have been taking to the app in an attempt to explain how a situation like this occurs. Dr. Fatima Daoud, OB-GYN uploaded two separate videos expanding on information about shoulder dystocia and what she says are “maneuvers of last resort.” She explains in the video that maneuvers of last resort are actions taken by the provider that may cause harm to the baby but are necessary to save the baby’s and/or mother’s life.

“The first thing I’m going to say is that shoulder dystocia, it’s rare. But when it does happen it’s an unpredictable, unpreventable medical emergency,” Daoud explains. “There are risk factors, sure, for shoulder dystocia. But actually, the majority of shoulder dystocias happen in people who have no risk factor at all.”

This essentially means that there’s no way for a doctor or midwife to know that you may experience shoulder dystocia while delivering your baby. But when it happens, things have to move extremely quickly because once the baby’s face hits the air, the clock has started. There are only a few minutes to get the baby out before they’ve been deprived of oxygen for too long. During this time doctors and nurses try multiple different ways to dislodge the baby’s shoulder but if all else fails, they have to move to the maneuvers of last resort.

Daoud explains that decapitation due to shoulder dystocia is “astronomically, astronomically rare” before revealing that it doesn’t always mean malpractice has occurred.

@doctordaoud

#stitch with @wykeishaforthecommunity Major content warning here, but I do feel that as medical professionals we have an obligation to responsibly and respectfully weigh in on prominent medical-related news.

“Is because, when we’re trying to resolve a shoulder dystocia when it happens, there are multiple maneuvers that we do. Three of them are what we call maneuvers of last resort. The extreme stuff,” Daoud continues. If the extreme stuff doesn’t work, what are you going to do? If nothing is working, what are you going to do? And a decapitation is the answer. I’m so sorry to say this, but that doesn’t automatically mean malpractice took place.”

The OB-GYN apologized multiple times in the video understanding that it’s not pleasant information, but it’s necessary information to have in order to understand how the couple’s doctor may have gotten to that point. It has been reported that this couple’s baby died before the Cesarean took place due to how long he was stuck in the birth canal.

In a follow-up video, Daoud goes into more detail about the three last-resort maneuvers before something as horrific as a decapitation occurs. One involves breaking the baby’s clavicle to force the shoulders past the pubic bone, and the very last one is the “Zavanelli maneuver,” in which they attempt to push the baby back into the uterus via the birth canal.

“Performing a Cesarean in the middle of shoulder dystocia is very much different than performing a Cesarean section that’s scheduled or in labor,” Daoud says. “It’s not even comparing apples to oranges. It’s like comparing an apple to a truck.”

She goes on to explain that if the Zavanelli Maneuver is unsuccessful and you’ve attempted all of the other maneuvers of last resort prior to the Zavanelli, the focus becomes saving the mom. Daoud is clear that she is not speculating on the case from Atlanta but explaining how an infant death like this can occur.

It’s a tragic thing to consider and an even more tragic thing to experience. Everyone is wishing the parents currently experiencing this unimaginable loss comfort during this difficult time.

@doctordaoud

Replying to @RaideretteRaiderLicious It’s not as simple as making a cut and scooping the baby out like a typical c-section, though I obviously cannot say what did and did not take place during this tragedy. #zavanellimaneuver #shoulderdystocia

What Is Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘Bad Idea Right?’ About?

Olivia Rodrigo is taking advantage of the intrigue surrounding whom she might or might not be dating since her “Drivers License” debut and its subsequent Joshua Bassett discourse. The rollout for Guts, her upcoming sophomore album, has so far included “Vampire” and “Bad Idea Right?” The former debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, and the latter has fans in a chokehold less than 24 hours after arriving.

The “Bad Idea Right?” video, directed by Petra Collins, appeared to reference Glee and Euphoria. In it, Rodrigo receives a call from a contact saved as “LOSER NOT WORTH MENTIONING” while getting ready for a night out with her friends.

She knows intellectually that she should ignore her ex’s attempts to reconnect, but her emotional resistance is another story. The immersive visual matches the song’s enticing lyrics, such as “Seeing you tonight / It’s a bad idea, right? / Seeing you tonight / F*ck it, it’s fine.” After choosing to indulge, she keeps it to herself (“And I told my friends I was asleep / But I never said where or in whose sheets”) and tries to forget about it (“Thoughts / Blah”).

As with “Vampire,” everybody wants to know who “Bad Idea Right?” is about. Rodrigo’s official statement about the song doesn’t give anything away.

“‘Bad Idea Right?’ started with us making a joke song about me hooking up with an ex-boyfriend, but then we realized we were actually onto something,” she said. “We were throwing the weirdest things at the wall — in one of the choruses there’s a part that sounds like an instrument in the background, but it’s me gradually screaming louder and louder.”

Rodrigo egged on the speculation about the subject of “Vampire” by joking that it’s Jake Shane in a TikTok with him lipsyncing a scene from Euphoria.

The leading candidates in the Olivia Rodrigo’s Alleged Exes Clubhouse are Adam Faze and Zack Bia, but there is no confirmation (yet) that either is the inspiration behind “Vampire,” “Bad Idea Right?,” or Guts as a whole. In fact, an unnamed insider exclusively told People that “Vampire” is not about Faze.

Watch the “Bad Idea Right?” video above.

Guts is out 9/8 via Geffen. Find more information here.
