Doja Cat Allegedly Blasted Her ‘Kittenz’ Super Fans For Their Fandom Nickname: ‘Get Off Your Phone And Get A Job’

Each of music’s leading ladies’ fan bases has an adorable nickname. For Beyoncé, it’s the Beyhive. The Swifties are Taylor Swift’s most devoted supporters. For Nicki Minaj, the Barbz hold her down, whereas Bardi Gang back Cardi B. Hell, even Rihanna has her Navy cadets. However, Doja Cat doesn’t approve of her advocates dubbing themselves the Kittenz.

The “Attention” rapper took to social media to blast her fans for the nickname. According to screenshots captured by Pop Crave, the entertainer wrote, “If you call yourself a ‘kitten’ or f*cking ‘kittenz,’ that means you need to get off your phone and get a job and help your parents with the house.”

When asked by a fan page if they could change their account handle, reportedly she replied, “Just delete the entire account and rethink everything. It’s never too late.”

One fan asked her to say that she still loves them, to which Doja Cat replied, “I don’t though cuz I don’t even know y’all.”

Doja Cat’s relationship with her fans has been rocky over the past year. In fact, earlier in the week, she was accused of blocking fans that publicly declared their disapproval of her rumored relationship with former Vine star J Cyrus.

Who Is Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘Vampire’ About?

Taylor Swift isn’t the only songstress with a knack for turning terrible dating experiences into chart-topping hits. According to fan theories, Olivia Rodrigo’s latest single, “Vampire,” secretly did just that. Livies, the nickname for Olivia Rodrigo super fans, believe the lead single off the musician’s forthcoming sophomore album, Guts, is inspired by her ex-boyfriend. But who exactly is that?

Based on social media users, Olivia Rodrigo’s “Vampire” track is about producer Adam Faze. The lyric of the track in question reads, “Went for me and not her / ‘Cause girls your age know better.”

One user online kicked about the theory when they wrote, “What if ‘Vampire’ is about the relationship with Adam Faze and the age gap? Vampire is a creature that ‘does not age’ but actually has a lot of age. Like when Edward was a few dozen or hundreds of years old and dated a teenager.” The fan’s remark referred to the character Edward Cullen from the Twilight movie franchise and the former couple’s nearly six-year age gap.

Another pointed out that the track’s release date added to the conspiracy. “That’s crazy that Olivia Rodrigo and Adam Faze were ‘confirmed’ officially on June 29th two years ago at the ‘Space Jam’ event at Universal, and she released ‘Vampire’ today on June 29TH 💀💀,” wrote the fan.

However, in a now-deleted post on TikTok, when asked by a friend if he inspired the song, Faze laughs it off, saying, “That’s not me.”

Does ‘Barbie’ Have Any Post-Credits Scenes?

Time was the movies just ended. The credits rolled, listing every single person who worked on them, and you stayed and read them all (or just let the movie sit with you for a few minutes) or you vamoosed. Long credits are a modern phenomenon: Before the 1970s, end credits were short to non-existent. What credits you got usually happened during the opening, and they weren’t comprehensive.

Anyway, you didn’t come here to learn about the history of end credits. You came to learn if the money-gobbler that is Barbie, the live-action movie based on the longtime Mattel doll line, and which has enraged weirdo conservatives, has any post-credit scenes à la Marvel movies. More on that in a bit.

Back to Marvel. Starting with the one that started it all, Iron Man, Marvel made sitting through the end credits — and maybe even reading them — a must. Sometimes their bumpers and post-credit scenes, which can run anywhere from one to five or so, hint at future movies. Sometimes they’re just jokes, the most famous being the shawarma sitdown at the conclusion of the original Avengers.

Eventually other, non-Marvel movies started including them. It’s a chance for filmmakers to add little epilogues or even gags to their movies — things they couldn’t fit into the main show.

Anyway, to answer your question about whether Barbie has any scenes after its hilarious final punchline, the answer is no.

Thanks To Travis Scott’s Rolling Loud Miami Performance, His ‘Utopia’ Album Release Date Might’ve Just Been Revealed

So far, Rolling Loud Miami 2023 has been full of shocking on-stage moments. On Saturday, July 22, headliner Travis Scott did something relatively low-key: He simply revealed his album Utopia‘s forthcoming release date.

Nearing the end of Scott’s set, the date July 28, 2023, flashed on the screen being him. One person on Twitter commented on the revelation, writing, “I need Utopia bad @trvisXX 🥲.” Scott replied, “Meet me here on Monday. We shall eat sooooonnn,” implying that more information would be shared on June 24.

But that wasn’t the only thing revealed during Scott’s set. He also played the trailer for his upcoming A24 film, Circus Maximus, which will also debut on the same day. So far, details about the movie have been largely kept from the public.

Utopia has been years in the making. On Friday, June 21, Scott dropped the first track from the album, “KPop,” which features Bad Bunny and The Weeknd.

Hidden within the official video for the record were hint that when Scott does hit the road to support that album, it will be on a grand scale, which is to say stadiums only. In addition to the tour, Scott’s team is working to host a special concert outside of the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt.

Elon Musk Has Vowed To Rebrand Twitter As ‘X,’ And People Sure Had Jokes

For the first 15 years of its life, Twitter was never exactly a calm place, but it was, for the most part, reliable. Any major changes Jack Dorsey and his team came infrequently. Then Elon Musk got his mitts on it. Nowadays not much time goes by without chaos reigning. It’s been a few weeks since the weird Twitter meltdown that led to a surge in Bluesky sign-ups, to say nothing of Mark Zuckerberg’s not-quite-“Twitter killer.” So he decided to throw another monkey wrench into the cogs.

As per The Verge, late Saturday night Musk had a cryptic announcement, as one does that time of the week. “And soon we shall bid adieu to the twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds,” he wrote. A couple minutes later he became a little clearer, sort of, writing, “If a good enough X logo is posted tonight, we’ll make go live worldwide tomorrow.”

Sure enough, Musk later confirmed during an awkward, silence-filled Twitter Spaces hang that he was ditching the Twitter name and rebranding as, simply, “X.” The change was coming soon, too, with him vowing that “we’re cutting the Twitter logo from the building with blowtorches.”

Musk also teased what may or may not wind up being the new logo.

When (if?) the name/brand change comes, it will bring an end to a 17-year era that reshaped how social media works, and even saw the company adding a noun and a verb to the English dictionary. Whether or not what people do on X will still be called “tweeting” remains to be seen.

Musk’s posts about the rebranding featured replies from the usual blue-checked sycophants. For many others, it was yet another chance to drag the second-richest person on the planet on the service he owns.

Some wondered why the owner of Space X loves the letter so much.

Others saw it not as an exciting change but as yet another death knell for a once-thriving company.

Some weren’t exactly optimistic that Musk could make it work.

Others saw it as just another dumb rebrand from another questionable company leader.

There were plenty of miscellaneous jokes.

As of this writing, Twitter is still called Twitter. That may change by the time some of you read these words. When (again, if) it does leave, pour one out for a real one.

Drake Won’t Get Married Anytime Soon For Several Reasons, Including, As He Put It: ‘I’m Not, Like, Amish’

Drake’s rapper’s rumored girlfriend, Lilah Pi, might want to plan her exit. After the rapper’s awkward appearance on TikTok influencer Bobbi Althoff’s The Really Good podcast, he opened up about his outlook on romantic relationships. Drake has a long list of high-profile ex-partners, including Rihanna, SZA, and Serena Williams. However, he has yet to find his bride.

During the interview, Drake revealed that his marital status isn’t due to disinterest in companionship. When Althoff introduced the topic after reading a few lines from his poetry book, Drake asked the host why she was married. She flipped the question on him, and he replied, “I don’t know; it seems like a thing of ancient times or something.”

He continued, “I think I will eventually. The truth is I don’t think I could offer someone what it is that they’re looking for right now. My work is my priority. I wouldn’t want to contribute as a partner. I don’t wanna get married ’cause, like, I just don’t wanna disappoint someone.”

Althoff claimed that he couldn’t get married because of his promiscuity. In an attempt to rebuttal, Drake said, “I’m not, like, Amish,” referring to a group famous for their traditional approach to marriage.

Later during the chat, Drake also confessed that he’s not interested in jumping into any more entanglements with other celebrities. That suggests the rumors that he and rising rapper Sexyy Red were an item are inaccurate, regardless of their recent steamy photo. “Famous people really aren’t that… aren’t that anything. They’re not that intriguing,” Drake told Althoff.

A contest for the ‘worst science stock photo’ has taken the internet by storm

Stock photos of any job are usually delightful cringey. Sure, sometimes they sort of get the essence of a job, but a lot of the time the interpretation is downright cartoonish. One glance and it becomes abundantly clear that for some careers, we have no freakin’ clue what it is that people do.

Dr. Kit Chapman, an award-winning science journalist and academic at Falmouth University in the U.K., recently held an impromptu contest on Twitter where viewers could vote on which photos were the best of the worst when it came to jobs in scientific fields.

According to Chapman’s entries, a day in the life of a scientist includes poking syringes into chickens, wearing a lab coat (unless you’re a “sexy” scientist, then you wear lingerie) and holding vials of colored liquid. Lots and lots of vials.

Of course, where each image is 100% inaccurate, they are 100% giggle inducing. Take a look below at some of the contenders.

Chapman’s unofficial photo competition received nearly 500,000 votes cast throughout four rounds. The grand prize winner was a photo of a female scientist holding a soldering iron (very much not in the right way) as she is “working” on some kind of electrical board.

It’s titled, “Hold My Soldering Iron.”

“I mean there’s the obvious thing that she’ll burn her hand, but nobody ever talks about how she’s ‘soldering’ the wrong side of the board,” one person quipped.

Of course, “Talk to Us, Dr. Chicken” was also popular.

Clearly using the scientific method to figure out why exactly Dr. Chicken crossed the road.

But not as popular as “Syringe Chicken,” where, for some reason, a scientist covered in a mask and safety goggles inspects a raw, syringe-filled chicken with his teeny tiny magnifying glass. For science!

This one was the winner of the second-to-last batch.

Ever wonder where space is? Don’t worry, leave it to the professionals to point the way.

“To space!” Chapman captioned.

Speaking of professionals, everyone dresses for research this way, right?

Chapman titled this “Science: It’s a Girl Thing.”

People were quick to chime in with their own contributions, including:

“Woman Brain Surgeon”

Otherwise known as a jello mechanic.

And some kind of … corn scientist? From the future?

Why does this seem like it belongs in an Annie Lennox music video?

As well as a group of scientists that belong in a Marvel movie for their ability to manipulate atoms.

While these are certainly not an accurate depiction of the vast and wondrous world of scientific research, it did cause many a scientist to share a giggle. So no harm, no foul. Not even to chickens.

Turns out, there’s a very important reason surgeons wear blue. A doctor explains why.

Few work uniforms are as easily identifiable as the all-blue scrubs, gloves, cap and mask of a surgeon. But why do surgeons across the globe sport this particular color? Turns out this is more than a fashion choice. It actually helps ensure a safe and successful operation.

As NHS surgeon Doctor Karan explains in a short video, surgeons spend a lot of time looking at the various shades of reds and pinks going on in the human body. After a while, all those hues start blending together, making it more difficult to see subtle distinctions. You can see how that might be an issue during an operation.

“Because the colors blue and green are opposite to red on the light spectrum they can actually improve a doctor’s eyesight in the operating room and help them pick out different shades of red and reduce the chances of error,” he says.

Another reason is the distracting “optical illusion” created after focusing on red for an extended period of time, where the color transfers over to white surfaces, similar to the way you’d see floating spots after a camera flash.

Psychology has a term behind this phenomenon named the Opponent Process Theory, which suggests that when the cones assigned to perceiving certain colors in our eyes get fatigued, they start firing opposing receptor cells to conserve energy.

“As someone who works in a paint department this actually makes sense. I do find myself going what I call ‘color blind’ sometimes when I’m doing a lot of color matches for an extended period of time. It makes my job more difficult,” one person wrote. Another person added that since organic matter tends to not be blue, it makes it easier to see if something has accidentally fallen where it shouldn’t during surgery.

Surgeons only began donning the color blue in the early 20th century. Before that, during medicine’s germ-theory era, they wore white to associate themselves with purity and cleanliness. However, physicians noticed that this color caused vision issues and headaches. Eventually one influential doctor would swap out the white for the blues and greens we see today.

Just a cool bit of science, history and example of the effort doctors put into helping others, all rolled into one story.
