Adele graced James Corden with her presence for his last-ever “Carpool Karaoke” segment on The Late Late Show With James Corden, which will air its final episode this Thursday, April 27.

The 21-minute “Carpool Karaoke” hit the internet this morning, April 24. It made Adele and Corden emotional, but Adele’s signature biting humor wasn’t compromised.

Corden wiped tears out of his eyes after he and Adele belted out “I Drink Wine” from her 2021 30 album, and then he brought up that Adele is just “one Tony Award away from the EGOT.”

“You now have the EGO,” Corden quipped at the 15:06 mark.

“Always had that, babe,” Adele said, then added, “I really don’t think that [EGOT] is ever gonna happen. I would never write a musical or anything like that because I f*cking hate musicals.”

She continued, “I don’t think I’ve ever said how much I f*cking hate [musicals]. […] I just don’t need to hear everything in f*cking song all the time, you know? I also think the EGO suits me better.”

And then, they launched into a duet of Barbra Streisand’s “Don’t Rain On My Parade” from Funny Girl.

Their other three song choices were Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep,” “Love Is A Game,” and “Hometown Glory.”

Ice Spice and PinkPantheress, whose collaboration “Boy’s A Liar” has been borderline inescapable for the past month or so, are reuniting — but this time, it’s for a new ad campaign for Skims shapewear. To commemorate the launch of its latest line on April 27, the Kardashian-backed shapewear brand has recruited some of the hottest rising names in music to represent the brand, including Ice Spice, Nessa Barrett, Pinkpantheress, and RAYE.

In the new ad, the four musicians talk about why Skims works for them, citing its comfort and ability to make them feel more confident. Ice Spice sums things up, saying, “Everybody’s wearing Skims.” You can check out the new ad clip below.

Skims previously dipped a toe into getting musician co-signs with a campaign featuring SZA, Becky G, and Cassie. The brand’s push for inclusivity drew some criticism for featuring disabled models, but that hasn’t stopped it from getting rave reviews from customers, which have even included soul legend, Erykah Badu.

Brands have been recognizing Ice Spice’s distinctive look ever since her career took off with the viral popularity of her song “Munch” on TikTok. Ivy Park recently featured her in its own campaign and her star continues to rise thanks to her new collaboration with Nicki Minaj, “Princess Diana.”

Jamie Foxx has been steadily recovering after being admitted to the hospital earlier this month due to “medical complications.” Many of Foxx’s friends and peers shared their well-wishes for the actor, including his longtime friend Nick Cannon.

Cannon gave a brief update to Entertainment Tonight, saying that his condition is improving. “Man, I’m praying. You see, I posted on Instagram. I literally have been saying prayers out loud. Words of affirmation for my big brother,” Cannon told ET, adding, “I know he’s doing so much better because I’m actually about to do something special for him, and doing him a favor.”

While Cannon is keeping his “special favor” under wraps, he confirmed that Foxx has been awake and alert since the incident, which took place on the set of his latest movie Back In Action.

“I can’t really say what it is, but it’ll be out there soon,” Cannon explained. “I was reluctant to go all the way there, and even talk about it, but he gave me the blessing, so it’s a beautiful thing. He’s awake. They say he’s alert, so, we love it.” Cannon knows a thing or two about blessings, so who knows what he’s got up his sleeve.

Fresh off the news that Fox News and Tucker Carlson have agreed to “part ways,” Don Lemon has been let go by CNN, acccording to Don Lemon. CNN is saying otherwise. Buckle up.

The news came early Monday morning after the on-air personality fired off a frustrated tweet sharing some behind-the-scenes details of his axing. According to Lemon, his agent was the one to break the news of his termination.

“I was informed this morning by my agent that I have been terminated by CNN,” Lemon wrote. “I am stunned. After 17 years at CNN I would have thought that someone in management would have had the decency to tell me directly.”

Lemon continued on, writing that he was blindsided by the news and expected there were bigger issues at play that contributed to his firing.

“At no time was I ever given any indication that I would not be able to continue to do the work I have loved at the network,” Lemon wrote. “It is clear there are some larger issues at play. With that said, I want to thank my colleagues and the many teams I have worked with for an incredible run. They are the most talented journalists in the business, and I wish them all the best.”

That all said, CNN is disputing how it all went down.

The news comes after Variety published a report exposing multiple complaints related to Lemon’s conduct with female staff at the network. According to sources who spoke to the outlet, Lemon displayed misogynistic attitudes towards his fellow female anchors, sending harassing and threatening texts and mocking them in front of the show crew and staff. Lemon drew even more controversy for his on-air comments about presidential hopeful Nikki Haley, dubbing her “past her prime,” for which he later apologized.

CNN CEO Chris Licht posted a memo on the network’s social media accounts addressing the termination saying, “Don will forever be a part of the CNN family, and we thank him for his contributions over the past 17 years. We wish him well and will be cheering him on in his future endeavors.”

Morgan Wallen is roughly two weeks into his One Night At A Time Tour in support of his March album of the same name, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. It’s as if he was never filmed using a racial slur in 2021 and more or less temporarily exiled from country music.

Wallen’s fans have stood by him, but right now, they’re a little upset with him.

On Saturday, April 22, Wallen was scheduled to perform at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Mississippi.

“Numerous fans posted photos inside the stadium, where the crowd assembled and watched openers Bailey Zimmerman, Ernest, and Hardy perform their sets,” Rolling Stone relayed. “Just before Wallen’s onstage time, a message was flashed on the screens at the side of the stage announcing that there would be no more music.”

Wallen wrote to his Instagram Story, “After last night’s show I started losing my voice so I spent the day resting up, talking to my doctor and working through my vocal exercises trying to get better. I really thought I’d be able to take the stage and it kills me to deliver this so close to showtime, but my voice is shot and I am unable to sing. All tickets will be refunded at point of purchase. I am so sorry, I promise you guys I tried everything I could.”

Wallen is next scheduled to perform on Thursday, April 27, at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan, according to his website.

Oscar Isaac is going to be f*cking pissed.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be the first movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with an uncensored use of the word “f*ck.” It comes during a scene that was released online, in which Star-Lord grows frustrated with Nebula’s inability to open a door. “There’s a button under the handle. Press that in,” he instructs her. When Nebula does so and asks what’s next, Star-Lord yells, “Open the f*cking door.” (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3: Awesome Mix Vol. 3 is missing an opportunity if it doesn’t have “I Write Sins Not Tragedies.”)

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 writer and director James Gunn confirmed that, unlike other instances in the MCU, the “f*ck” won’t be cut off. “You can only have one in a PG 13 movie. That said it wasn’t planned – I told Chris to add it on set and it just made the moment funnier so we kept,” he tweeted.

First, it’s swearing. The next thing you know, there will be unsimulated sex scenes between Groot and the Hulk. The moral decay of the Disney-owned MCU is happening, and we will not stand for this moral decay (is how I assume Ron DeSantis will react to this news).

Ashanti and Nelly are having fun revisiting the past, or at least giving the illusion that they’re living in the past, even if it’s driving fans bananas.

In December, the “it” early-2000s couple delivered a very cozy performance of their 2008 track “Body On Me” at Power 98.3 & 96.1’s Under The Mistletoe in Glendale, Arizona.

Ashanti addressed the rumors it caused while visiting Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen in the following weeks. She didn’t totally confirm nor deny that she’s back together with Nelly.

“It was a lot of comments and a lot of people wanting that,” she said. “What I will say is we’re in a better place. […] We’re cool now. We had some conversations. So, it’s cool.”

They were back at it again this weekend — this time, performing “Body On Me” in Las Vegas:

Desiigner has been charged with indecent exposure after his recent airplane misadventure. According to TMZ, the Brooklyn rapper apparently didn’t just expose himself on his return flight from Thailand — he was also full-on choking the chicken, even after flight attendants asked him to stop. Multiple times.

According to documents filed by federal authorities, Desiigner told police in Minneapolis that he “didn’t really get much… cootie” overseas and said he was so attracted by a flight attendant he ended up “brick hard.” While he later attributed his behavior to medications he was prescribed in Thailand, he reportedly told police he was not under the influence of anything and hadn’t been taking the prescribed medications, while the police report alleges he appeared sober.

Desiigner posted a statement to Instagram after the incident, saying that he was checking himself into a mental health facility.

For the past few months I have not been ok. And I have been struggling to come to terms with what is going on. While overseas for a concert I performed at, I had to be admitted in to a hospital, I was not thinking clearly. They gave me meds, and I had to hop on a plane home. I am ashamed of my actions that happened on that plane. I landed back to the states, and am admitting my self in a facility to help me. I will be cancelling all of my shows and my obligations until further notice. Mental health is real guys, please pray for me. If [you’re] not feeling like yourself, please get help.

It certainly was not the first time the rapper got himself into hot water by getting his junk out in public. He allegedly flashed a couple during an altercation in New York in 2018. Let’s hope he gets the help he needs and keeps it in his pants in the future.

In news that some people undoubtedly still can’t believe is true, Tucker Carlson is leaving Fox News. The Swanson heir and conspiracy theorist extraordinaire has enjoyed quite a run of making those faces on prime time news, and it seems that even the highest ratings on the network didn’t ensure that he would coast for life. The timing sure is interesting here, given that the conservative news network recently reached a settlement with Dominion Voting Systems for a whopping $787 million, and although the world never saw an apology from Tucker, The Daily Show spliced one up.

Brian Stelter was one of the first to report that the shocking decision is “effective immediately,” so Tucker won’t be giving a formal sign off during his usual Fox News time slot. What happened? Well, no one is offering a definitive answer as of yet, but Hollywood Reporter has some interesting insight, which suggests that this was a last-minute decision. In addition to a planned expansion for the Tucker Carlson universe (ugh), Fox News had also planned to air a key interview on Monday night, and that suddenly isn’t in the cards:

Carlson had just inked a new contract with Fox News two years ago, a deal that included a dramatic expansion of Tucker Carlson original programming for the Fox Nation streaming service. Carlson was slated to interview Republican presidential hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy on Monday night. The channel had been promoting the interview earlier in the morning.

Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner announced Carlson’s departure on her program Monday, saying she had some “news from within our Fox News family,” before reading the channel’s statement on Carlson’s departure.

Whatever went down, it doesn’t sound too civil, given the abrupt departure. For the time being, Fox News intends to rotate guest hosts into Tucker’s time slot, but Twitter already has some ideas on who could replace him. It’s not all Succession themed, but Kerry has a fair amount of nominations already, if she can beat out a character from Children of the Corn and Joseph Goebbels’ ghost. I hear that she’s free!

Succession’s fifth episode gave fans exactly what its title promised: a kill list.

In business speak, a kill list is just a round-up of company redundancies meant to be slashed when a merger or acquisition takes place. With GoJo CEO Lukas Matsson (Alexander Skarsgård) setting his sights not only on Waystar-Royco but also its conservative news division ATN, personnel adjustments naturally needed to be made. And, because this is Succession, the best way to cull the herd is to gather the over-paid, non-essential sheep on a remote Norwegian mountaintop and have them (literally) sweat it out. Obviously, some long-term Logan Roy groupies are nervous about their continued survival at the company while the higher-ups are hoping the Roy sibling’s renegotiations yield an even bigger payout.

But who’s on the chopping block and who’s safe once the deal goes through?

Who’s On The Kill List? Who Is Safe?

At the beginning of the episode, as the Waystar-Royco crew cruises to their last-minute Scandinavian Hunger Games event, a handful of the company’s mainstay employees seem to be dreading the meet-cute. Hugo (Fisher Stevens) is fretting about GoJo’s head of communications — he’s a former Olympian and decades younger — while Carolina (Dagmara Dominczyk) sizes up Matsson’s personal PR head. Ray, Mark, Gerri (J. Smith Cameron), Greg (Nicholas Braun), and Tom (Matthew Macfayden) also seem to be nervous about impressing the CEO enough to avoid the ax while Frank (Peter Friedman) and Karl (David Rasche) are happily stuffing their gams into compression stockings and readying to “let the good times roll.”

Later, after Greg confirms an evolving kill list of eight to nine names is circling around Matsson’s camp, a final list is leaked to the group on their way home from the retreat. Hugo, Mark, Ray, Karl, and Frank are out while Carolina, Gerri, and Tom seem to be safe (for the moment). And Greg? Well, Greg’s not memorable enough to factor in, either way.

Why Did Some People Survive The Kill List?

Both Karl and Frank are grandfathered-in employees. They’re higher-ups who have been with the company for so long — and accumulated enough controlling stock — that they expect to be given a hefty severance package when the deal between Waystar-Royco and GoJo goes through. The more money Matsson offers only sweetens their pots so the confirmation that they’re getting fired doesn’t bother them too much. They can afford unemployment.

For Hugo, Ray, and Mark — all lower-level employees — the news that they’ve been culled is a bit more brutal. They’ll be facing a job market with a resume that includes working for a notorious, shit-stirring billionaire media magnate (kind of like working at Fox News). But, what’s really interesting about Matsson’s kill list isn’t who’s on it, it’s who’s left off and why.

After a late-night confessional with Shiv (Sarah Snook), Matsson not only offers the siblings more money for their father’s kingdom, he saves specific people she namedrops in their heart-to-heart. After Matsson reveals he’s been sending bricks of blood to his former girlfriend/comms department head, he inquires about Carolina and Shiv backs her, calling her “solid.” Later, when she’s offering up some PR advice for his “prank gone wrong,” she mentions that Gerri would have a good handle on something like this. Though she never fights for Tom outright, she’s quick to throw ATN old-timer Cyd Peach under the bus when the group is back in the air, leading us to assume Tom’s continued existence at the company is also her doing. Matsson seems to not only trust Shiv, but he also values her opinion and sees her as the Roy sibling most similar to her father, a man he both despised and respected.

So sure, we feel for the people on his “to fire” list, but the bigger takeaway from episode five is how it sets up a potential alliance between Matsson and Shiv and presents a new frontrunner in the line of succession.
