BMF’: Here’s All The Music You Heard In Season 2, Episode 9

(WARNING: Spoilers for this week’s BMF episode will be found below.)

In episode nine of season two of BMF, Meech and Terry are back in Atlanta and they’re there for few reasons. With their Colombian connect in place, the duo, along with help from the rest of BMF and the PA Boys, are looking to set up shop in ATL. Though business is at the forefront of their minds, they also made sure to find some time for some fun as they make the trip during the famed Freaknik week. While Meech and Terry are able to get the ball rolling on setting up shop in Atlanta, thanks to some help from Goldie, it doesn’t come without some unfortunate events. Meech and Terry’s good friend Ty is shot and killed during a shooting in the city and B-Mickie nearly kills Terry — and that’s just the half of it.

The aforementioned events in the ninth episode of BMF season two, titled “High Treason,” are soundtracked by songs that help to accentuate the emotions behind each scene. You can find a list of them belong as well as details about the scenes that the records soundtracked.

The following records were provided thanks to the Starz Public Relations team.

Al Skratch x Fredro — “Get ‘Em”

We hear this record around the 0:30 mark as Terry, Meech, B-Mickie, and others are racing down Atlanta streets and sports cars clearly enjoying themselves.

Fredro — “It’s Not Safe”

Around the 02:02 mark, Meech gets off the phone with Detective Bryant after essentially telling him to kick rocks. B-Mickie looks forward to relocating to Atlanta to start new, but he still fears the unknown despite Meech’s attempts to reassure him.

50 Cent — “Wish Me Luck” Feat. Charlie Wilson

This is the theme song of BMF. It plays around the 3:00 mark in “Both Sides Of The Fence.” While it’s only 50 Cent and Charlie Wilson’s voices that are heard at this moment, the song also features Snoop Dogg and Moneybagg Yo.

M.C. A.D.E. — “Bass Mechanic”

M.C. A.D.E’s “Bass Mechanic” can be heard around the 04:34 mark as Meech, Terry, B-MIckie, and the BMF and PA Boys arrive in Atlanta. Though there is business to take care of, the crews are starting things off with some fun at Freaknik.

Rob Base & DJ EZ Rock — “It Takes Two”

Rob Base & DJ EZ Rock iconic “It Takes Two” records plays around the 05:11 mark as the party begins. We see Meech dancing with two girls, Terry playing cards, and everyone else having fun. One member of the PA Boys is being too aggressive with a woman which forces Meech and Sterling to call for his removal from the job they’re in Atlanta for.

Aerin— “No Lookin’ Back!”

We hear this track around the 12:13 mark as Meech and Terry arrive at Goldie’s house for the first time since they were last in Atlanta earlier this season. They meet with her to ask for help in setting up shop in Atlanta

Nyalah — “Show Out”

Around the 16:33 mark, Meech and Terry’s arrive at Ty’s house. They meet his wife (played by Yung Miami) and propose the idea of planting a flag in Atlanta, but without stepping on Ty’s toes. Ty reluctantly agrees to help them out in setting up shop in Atlanta. They also agree to stay for dinner.

Man Doe — “Shave Beat”

This instrumental plays around the 19:30 as Lucille sits at dinner with Pastor Swift. She vents about the struggles she’s had with the men in her life (Charles, Meech, and Terry). Swift makes a move with Lucille, but she turns him down.

E. Thompkins — “Live Without You”

We hear this record around the 21:50 mark as Monique and Lamar are doing lines of coke. Monique is still trying to trap Lamar and possibly kill him as she’s planned with Meech. Lamar catches on to the basis of Monqiue’s plan and things take a tragic turn.

Quann — “Break Beat 1”

Around the 31:45 mark, Meech, Terry, and the BMF & PA Boys crew return to the streets of Atlanta where they spot a man named Dice selling in the crowd. Meech and B-Mickie approach him and look to set up a deal.

BChe x Bud — “Take My Life”

This song plays around the 37:34 mark as Terry sits in the car with a man he hired to kill B-Mickie. Meech and Terry tricked B-Mickie into thinking that they were going to Atlanta to set up shop for a hub he would be in charge of. Truth is, they both planned to have him killed.

Marlon and Osinachi — “A&T”

We hear this song around the 38:48 mark as BMF and the PA Boys walk into Magic City for a night of fun. Meech is approached by a stripper who’s in college and looking to get her tuition paid. In the end, the both get what they want.

Stephie — “Moon Bolder”

Around the 41:13 mark, Meech emerges from the back room in the strip club to meet with Stephanie, a real estate agent in Atlanta that Goldie promised to introduce him to.

Anderson — “Brave”

We hear this song around the 41:45 mark as Meech and Terry’s meeting with Stephanie concludes. They both tell her the homes they’re looking for, and when Stephanie and Terry leave, Goldie tells Meech that the sick lady he saw at her house was her baby sister who is suffering from AIDS.

Don Cabán — “Chasing Paper”

The episode concludes with this record playing starting at around the 48:26 mark. “High Treason” ended with Meech having to tell Ty’s wife that he was shot and killed. She slaps him and tells him to make sure that whoever did this pays for their crimes. Meech also stops B-Mickie from shooting Terry.

‘BMF’ To Blowin’ Money Fast: Never Promise More Than You Can Perform In Season 2, Episode 9

(WARNING: Spoilers for this week’s BMF episode will be found below.)

Each week for the ‘BMF’ To Blowin’ Money Fast series, we’ll recap the episode by looking at a few key things to see how they hurt Meech and Terry’s money-making goals and overall well-being. Each item will be marked as a profit or a loss, the former keeping them in the black and the latter pushing them into the red. Throughout the season, something that was once unprofitable could turn profitable, and vice versa, but we’ll have to wait and see what that might be.

Meech and Terry’s desired rise in the drug game continues as season two of BMF is just a week away from ending. Episode eight of the season, “Push It To The Limit,” sought to establish a new process as their new batch of 300 kilos of cocaine required that. They received the drugs from the Colombians after Meech and Terry were successfully able to strike a deal with them in the episode prior. Meech and Terry laid some new foundation to move this product, but it doesn’t come without disruption from Lamar.

In this week’s episode, “High Treason,” Meech and Terry bring the PA Boys and the rest of BMF on a trip to Atlanta. The trip is mainly business-focused, but the respective crews make sure to have some fun while they’re out there. BMF’s main reason for going to Atlanta is to set up shop in the city, as they did in Cleveland, to move product and make money. Meech and Terry hope to use their connects in the city, Goldie and Ty, to make things happen, and while they’re successful in doing so, things go left to cause some serious damage. Meech and Terry also go back and forth on what to do with B-Mickie now that they know he snitched on them. Back in Detroit, Charles and Lucille’s marriage is at its breaking point, and after another discovery, it only gets worse for the Flenorys.

Meech

LOSS

Regardless of the business that Meech was able to successfully get done during his time in Atlanta, his hand was indirectly involved in a pair of extremely tragic endings. First, we have Monique’s death which came after Lamar caught on to her attempt to kill him and quickly figured out that it was a plan she hatched together with Meech. This realization from Lamar led to him choking Monique to death, a discovery that will probably make Meech angrier than we’ve ever seen him. Secondly, following a night at Magic City with Ty, BMF, and the PA Boys, a shootout occurs and Ty is shot and killed in the crossfire. Just like that, a second promise from Meech is broken as he’s unable to bring Ty back home safely to his wife. We’ve seen Meech’s decisions and actions affect others, but it hasn’t been to this level.

Lucille

PROFIT

It’s good to see Lucille standing up for herself. When she heads out to dinner with Pastor Swift, she dismisses Charles’ question of when she’ll return him with a slightly rude, yet well-deserved response to him. Later on, she learns that Charles cheated on her with Mabel and she threatens her friend and tells her off while almost hitting her with a skillet. We should note that Charles did not escape the mess unscathed as Lucille eventually took her anger out on Charles’ guitar. For all the stress that Charles put her through during this season, it’s good to see that Lucille isn’t just wallowing in sadness. She’s standing up for herself and letting it be known that there isn’t a simple fix to this. Charles broke his promise and he’ll have to pay the consequences for that.

Terry

LOSS

While Meech had his only errors and mistakes in this week’s episode, Terry did as well. With B-Mickie’s return to BMF and Terry’s discovery that B-Mickie was working with Detective Bryant, Terry is set on having B-Mickie killed. Shockingly enough, Meech doesn’t want to kill B-Mickie and it’s something that Terry cannot wrap his head around. Had it been anyone else, Terry knows for a fact that they would have already been taken care of. However, Meech values family, so it makes sense that B-Mickie was forgiven and welcomed back. Nonetheless, Terry convinces Meech to have B-Mickie killed in Atlanta. Unfortunately for them, their plan is unsuccessful thanks to the expected shootout at Magic City. B-Mickie catches on and corners Terry by holding a gun to his head. All in all, it was a failed attempt from Terry to eliminate B-Mickie and now the two will just have to figure out how to work together.

Detectives Bryant & Jin

LOSS

While BMF and the PA Boys are off in Atlanta making moves and having a blast at Magic City and Freaknik, Detectives Bryant and Jin are still hard at work trying to get enough evidence to corner and arrest Meech and Terry. Bryant and Jin sleeping together isn’t a good thing for them either as, for the time being, it means that their chemistry is higher than its ever been. As if that’s not bad enough, Meech and Terry learn that Boom was arrested and that could lead to bad things if Bryant and Jin can talk to him. With pictures of Terry sleeping with Markeisha in his possession, Terry was almost positive that Boom would give up all the information he knew about BMF and that’s exactly what Boom did. BMF is divided at the moment but not Detectives Bryant and Jin. They’re working together more than ever and that will lead to bad things if BMF doesn’t get it together.

Goldie

PROFIT

To conclude this week’s recap, it’s only right that we give another shoutout to Mo’Nique’s character, Goldie. It’s the first time that we see her since the fifth episode of the season when Meech and Terry first met her during their first trip to Atlanta. When the BMF boys return, Goldie is nothing but welcoming, warm, charismatic, and sarcastic — all the things that make her character enjoyable. Meech and Terry ask to wash money throw her club, and while she denies their request, she does agree to help them set up shop elsewhere. It was enjoyable to watch Goldie school B-Mickie on his slick comment about her strip club. It was wholesome to see how much she cared for her sister who is battling AIDS. It appears that season two of BMF will end with BMF back in Detroit, so if that proves to be the case, the hope is that Goldie makes a lot more appearances in BMF for the show’s third season.

New episodes of ‘BMF’ are available on the STARZ app on Fridays at 12:00 am EST and on the STARZ TV channel at 8:00 pm EST.

Tame Impala Takes Flight Upon The ‘Wings Of Time’ In Their New ‘Dungeons & Dragons’ Soundtrack Anthem

At long last, Tame Impala has gifted us with new music. Their newest song, “Wings Of Time,” comes from the upcoming movie, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.

On the song, Tame Impala vocalist Kevin Parker sings of triumph amid turmoil, over a triumphant, drum-and-guitar-driven instrumental.

“We are number one, it is clear to us now / All that’s said and done / I knew it all along and the world will find out / Oh, it takes time, to love,” sings Parker.

Taking the opportunity to record a song for the film’s soundtrack was a no-brainer for Parker, who is a longtime fan of the Dungeons & Dragons game franchise.

“Being asked to do a track for the D&D soundtrack seemed like an unmissable opportunity to indulge in my long-time love of fantasy prog rock,” said Parker in a statement. “I recruited my good friend Nicholas Allbrook, who is the person I know appreciates this subject matter the most. We rented a villa in Spain, that kind of felt like a castle, for two nights whilst on tour for Primavera. That location got us in the right frame of mind and it went from there. We stayed up late coming up with weird ideas and song lyrics.”

PNAU And Khalid Think About Life ‘The Hard Way’ On Their New Collaboration

PNAU, the Australian trio, and Khalid have dropped their anticipated collaboration, “The Hard Way.” Blending Khalid’s strong vocals with PNAU’s sparkling, synth instrumental, the result is a brilliantly-layered track.

“I wish we could’ve came to some solution / Through all the conflict, find a resolution / But now we’re sitting in this empty room and / You’re pushin’ me aside,” Khalid sings in the first verse, before still admitting he’s struggling on the chorus. “When you said / Both of us just have to learn the hard way / I sit here for hours, begging you to stay / Since you’re leaving me, I’ll never be the same.”

Last month, the song was teased on TikTok and is believed to appear on PNAU’s eventual new album.

Here’s another song to cry to on the dancefloor. I love making sad club bops!

♬ the hard way x PNAU – Khalid

“We are so very excited to share this with you,” PNAU’s Nick Littlemore said in a statement, according to ToneDeaf. “Working with Khalid has been an absolute dream, we hope this song shall live in your hearts like it does ours.”

“It’s just awesome; it’s feel-good but then the lyrics have that melancholy, bittersweet thing about them,” Khalid added about their new song. “It’s that juxtaposition, that the lyrics are heartbreakingly sad but if you listen to the song, you can’t help but smile.

Miley Cyrus Has Returned With A Certified ‘Dance Floor Banger’ Called ‘River,’ From Her Brand New Album

Miley Cyrus dropped her new single, “River,” as another dance anthem from her album, Endless Summer Vacation — which is also officially out now.

If Cyrus’ chart-topping lead song “Flowers” from this era was the independent streak after a breakup, “River” is the return to getting back into the single life/dating pool.

“I got a new dress just to meet you downtown / Can you walk me through the park just to show it off? / I can pull my hair back in that tight way that you like / If you wrap me in your arms and never stop,” she sings over an ’80s-inspired electronic instrumental.

“It was a time in my life where I was going through just a lot in my life emotionally and personally,” Cyrus said about the song during her Backyard Sessions interview. “And I guess all my songs kind of evolve, they could start as something that was a trouble, like it just feels like it’s an April shower, it never stops raining, and then it started raining down like love.”

“‘River,’ sometimes we just need a dance floor banger, AKA they don’t want me to talk about how the fact the song is about [censored]. It’s f*cking nasty,” she continued.

Check out Miley Cyrus’s new song, “River,” from her now-released album above.

In the five years 6lack took between his last album, East Atlanta Love Letter, and his upcoming third album, Since I Have A Lover, the R&B superstar has gained a lot of clarity. How To Buy Tickets For The Cure’s 2023 Tour

The Cure recently announced their new North American tour for this year, marking the band’s first dates here since 2016. The shows will start in May at New Orleans’ Smoothie King Center, and will continue through the summer, with additional stops across major cities and venues — like NYC’s Madison Square Garden, LA’s Hollywood Bowl, Philly’s Wells Fargo Arena, and many more.

Given the range of stops that The Cure will make, fans might be wondering just exactly how they can purchase tickets to this tour. They are using Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan program, which allows those who want tickets to register here now through Monday, March 13 at 10 a.m. ET. From there, certain fans will receive individualized codes to purchase tickets through a lottery-style system — so not everyone will get one.

“All tickets on The Cure’s tour will be non-transferable, excluding shows in NY, IL, and CO where state laws prohibit artists from restricting resale,” Ticketmaster’s site also notes about The Cure’s tickets, as they attempt to crack down on scammers and scalpers who hike up the ticket prices for popular shows.

For those who don’t wind up obtaining a Verified Fan code, there are also sites like Stubhub, Seatgeek, and more to find eventual tickets, although it will be a higher price.

A complete list of The Cure’s tour dates along with more information is available here.

Dillon Brooks’ Message To Draymond Green Was ‘Keep Doing [Your] Podcast…It’s Cute’

The budding rivalry between the Memphis Grizzlies and Golden State Warriors added a few layers this week. After Dillon Brooks sharply criticized Draymond Green and his game last week, Green responded on Wednesday with a scathing takedown of Brooks. The back-and-forth seemed to unfold at the right time, as Memphis and Golden State clashed Thursday on TNT.

Despite the continued absences of Ja Morant and Steven Adams, the Grizzlies routed the Warriors, 131-110. At one point in the second quarter, the two shared a weird moment when Brooks converted a layup around Green. After the win, Brooks, flanked by teammates, Jaren Jackson Jr., Tyus Jones and Xavier Tillman, spoke with TNT’s Jared Greenberg and had some words for Green.

“That’s what I do, I talk,” Brooks said of his message for Green. “I told him, keep that mic. Keep that mic. He’s better at the mic than hooping. Keep doing his podcast. Keep blogging. Keep doing his thing off the court. It’s cute it’s fun for him.”

As Brooks’ interview concluded, he had a final message for Green to further stoke the flames of this rivalry.

“You should give the mic to Draymond,” Brooks told Greenberg. “Make him keep talking about me, so I can play better.”

Brooks ended the night with 14 points, six assists, four rebounds, one steal and one block. Green had 16 points, seven assists, five rebounds and three steals. I’m willing to bet Brooks’ parting words on Thursday won’t be the last of this saga between the two forwards. Given how pointedly Green responded Wednesday, he might have even more in store after all Brooks said this time around.
