Florence Welch Teases A Spooky Cover Of A No Doubt Hit For ‘Yellowjackets’ Season Two

Florence Welch (of Florence + The Machine) officially teased her new cover of No Doubt’s “Just A Girl,” which will be featured in Season 2 of Showtime’s Yellowjackets series later this month.

In a new video on social media, Welch looks through a rack of extravagant dresses before arriving at the sports team jacket that is common in the show. She then puts it on over her clothes, showcasing the bold “Yellowjackets” lettering on the back. Fans can also hear a teaser of her version in the video.

“So happy I got picked for the team this year,” she captioned the clip.

“We make one hell of a team,” the official Yellowjackets account replied.

Earlier this year, a fan account pointed out a post made on Deuxmoi that read, “Florence + The Machine is covering a 90s smash hit song for promo of a popular show’s second season premiering in March,” which has since been proven correct.

Following the reveal, fans are extremely excited. “ma’am you can’t just drop this with no full version release date,” one wrote. “OH MY F*CKING GOD. MY HEART IS ABOUT TO EXPLODE,” another added. Season two of Yellowjackets kicks off on March 24.

Outside Lands’ Diverse 2023 Lineup Is Led By Foo Fighters, Kendrick Lamar, Lana Del Rey, And Others

San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park will once again play host to the Outside Lands festival this year, from August 11 to 13. Ahead of then, the lineup was unveiled today (March 7), and it’s led by Kendrick Lamar, Foo Fighters, Odesza, Lana Del Rey, The 1975, Megan Thee Stallion, Zedd, Janelle Monáe, Maggie Rogers, and Fisher.

There are plenty of highlights beyond that, too, including Lil Yachty, JID, Interpol, Willow, Father John Misty, Tobe Nwigwe, Orville Peck, Aespa, Beabadoobee, Alvvays, Alex G, Soccer Mommy, Diesel (aka Shaquille O’Neal), Raveena, Inhaler, Ethel Cain, Samia, The Jungle Giants, and Wednesday.

As for how to experience the festival yourself, three-day tickets go on sale tomorrow (March 8) at 10 a.m. PT, via the Outside Lands website.

At the moment, it’s unclear what Foo Fighters will look like for their headlining performance, as they have yet to announce who will be the band’s new drummer following the death of Taylor Hawkins (although fans have ideas about who should get the spot). The band’s performance could be in support of a new album, if a radio DJ’s apparent accidental leak is to be believed.

Check out the full Outside Lands lineup above.

Some artists covered here are Warner Music artists. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Ja Morant Could Face Lengthy Suspension If The NBA Finds He Brought A Gun On The Grizzlies Team Plane

Ja Morant is currently not with the Grizzlies after an Instagram Live video from late Friday night/early Saturday morning in Denver showed him holding a gun in a nightclub following Memphis’ loss to the Nuggets.

The Grizzlies announced Morant would miss at least their next two games in L.A., but head coach Taylor Jenkins provided the update on Sunday that there is no timetable for Morant’s return. While the Grizzlies are working with Morant to lay out a path for what he must do to return to the team, there is the lingering question of the NBA’s own investigation, as well as Colorado police. From a legal perspective, it is illegal in Colorado to be in possession of a firearm while under the influence of alcohol, which is what Colorado police are apparently investigating.

From an NBA perspective, the fact that Morant had the gun on a road trip raises questions about whose gun it was, how he got it to Denver, and more. As Marc Stein laid out on the latest episode of This League Uncut, if the league determines that Morant brought the gun on the team plane, it could lead to a lengthy suspension.

“The CBA element is something that we do know because that’s happened before with the Gilbert Arenas-Jarvaris Crittenton thing in Washington,” Stein said. “Basically the CBA says if there is a firearm on team premises or on a team plane or anything like that, that’s an automatic 50-game suspension. So that’s why I think, as you alluded to, the league is trying to ascertain where was the gun before the Instagram video and all other manner of questions tied to that.”

UPDATE: Stein corrected himself on Twitter afterwards, saying it would violate the bylaws but would not automatically lead to a 50-game suspension, that is just the number Gilbert Arenas got in his incident with Crittenton, and the suspension length would be at Adam Silver’s discretion.

While the team plane isn’t explicitly listed as a team or NBA facility, the CBA does state that “whenever a player is traveling on any NBA-related business…such player shall not possess a firearm of any kind or any other deadly weapon.”

For now, Morant’s absence is indefinite as the league investigates the situation, but it could be a very lengthy absence for the young star guard should it be determined the gun was his and he brought it with him to Denver.

The First Reactions To ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’ Are Calling It The ‘Most Badass’ Wick Movie Yet, And Donnie Yen Is The ‘MVP’

The first reactions for John Wick: Chapter 4 are rolling in, and just like the titular character, the movie is absolutely killing it. Despite the film’s massively long runtime, critics are going nuts for this latest installment that once again puts Reeves’ assassin to the test. There’s also a whole lot of love for Donnie Yen, who is clearly a welcomed addition to the franchise that continues to insanely new levels of action with each film.

“I was blown away by many of the action sequences in #JohnWickChapter4,” Erik Davis tweeted. “This is definitely the biggest & most badass JOHN WICK movie yet w/ a runtime near 3 hours & an ending everyone will be talking about. No one does action like this – it’s on another level. Part 4 simply rules.”

“John Wick: Chapter 4 is one of the finest action movies ever,” Hunter Bolding wrote. “My jaw hit the floor at least six times. One section involving a Dragon’s Breath shotgun is just action-movie goodness at its best. Donnie Yen steals the show. Easily the best in the series.”

“I loved #JohnWick4,” Eric Goldman tweeted. “Yes, it’s a notably long action movie, but it’s a long action movie filled with fantastic John Wick action sequences that truly transcend into that place where it feels like you are watching a masterful, carnage-filled ballet in all the right ways.”

“I had reservations about John Wick: Chapter 4’s nearly three hour runtime, but the movie earns it,” Eric Eisenberg wrote. “It’s an epic with smart pacing that never lets the action feel exhausting, and the set pieces are phenomenal. Great cast of series newcomers, but Donnie Yen is the MVP.”

You can see more reactions to John Wick: Chapter 4 below, and with these kind of rave reviews, the film is easily on track to deliver the biggest opening box office for the franchise:

Jamie Lee Curtis Is Skipping The Oscars Nominees Dinner Because A Good Night’s Rest Is More Important To Her

Jamie Lee Curtis fought Michael Myers for literally decades in the Halloween franchise, and that might be one of multiple reasons why she values rest in real life. And in the middle of Oscar season, one can imagine that sleep isn’t in plentiful supply, yet Curtis has made clear on where her priorities lie. As part of the ensemble cast of Everything Everywhere All At Once, Curtis has been on a whirlwind tour of glamorous events, including the recent Independent Spirit Awards, where the film cleaned up in some of the bigger categories.

Heading into Oscars weekend, though, Curtis is all for getting some shut eye ahead of Hollywood’s biggest night of the year. As seen in a Hollywood Reporter TikTok clip, the True Lies star isn’t here for 9:00 pm dinners and whatever happens (nothing good, in her eyes) in the aftermath:

“Why? Because mommy goes to bed early. ‘Cause 7:30 is gonna be 9 before we get food, and you know what? There’s nothing good happening with me after 9 o’clock. Nothing. Zero!”

Good on ya, Jamie Lee. She’ll undoubtedly be ready to roll on Oscars day to formally greet her Best Supporting Actress nomination, and the event broadcasts at 5:00pm PST. That airtime should be more to her preferences, and the film (along with lead actress Michelle Yeoh) is nominated in numerous categories, so it should be an evening to remember.

Iggy Azalea Defended Her OnlyFans Profits And Questioned Why She Has To Be ‘Apologetic’ About Her Body

If online trolls thought that shaming Iggy Azalea for joining the subscription-based platform OnlyFans was going to get her to deactivate her account, they were wrong. In fact, just outside of the recent sale of her publishing catalog, becoming an OnlyFans content creator has proven to be one of the easiest and most financially lucrative moves she’s made in the last few years.

Initially, the rapper felt guilt around the decision due to the stigma surrounding the platform but during a recent interview on the High Low podcast hosted by model Emily Ratajkowski, Iggy shares that she no longer feels that way. The musician defended her OnlyFans profits and raised questions as to why she was forced to be apologetic about her body in the first place.

“Why do I have to be so apologetic about what I want to do with my own body? Why do I have to wait to enjoy things the way I want to,” the rapper questioned. “When I did it,” referring to joining the platform, “I thought I would want to cover it up, or I would lie about it… I didn’t think I’d lie I thought I’d just say no comment.”

Iggy ends with, “And after I did it I felt like, f*ck you guys, I’m not going to let you talk about this or whisper about it or make it bigger than it is because it shouldn’t be better than that it is.”

Later in the conversation, Iggy shared, “I made record labels so much money off my body. I made a lot of people so much money off my body and I got the smallest cut off my own f*cking body and my own work and my own ideas, ” adding, “I’m going to post pictures like that anyway because I like it and I think they’re beautiful, and I like my breasts. F*cking sorry!”

As it relates to her official earnings from the platform, Iggy shared, “I’m making so much money that I won’t say how much it is.”

Bill Hader’s Barry Vows Revenge In The Teaser Trailer For The Fourth (And Final!) Season Of ‘Barry’

Succession isn’t the only acclaimed HBO show that’s ending this year. Bill Hader has revealed that the fourth season of his hitman comedy Barry will also be its final season. HBO also released a teaser trailer for season four, which premieres on April 16th. “So help me God, if I get out of here, I’m coming for you,” Barry, who is in prison, says on the phone while covered in bruises and bandages. If NoHo Hank dies, I’m coming for you, Bill Hader.

“It was very much in the writing and the storytelling,” Hader told Variety. “I mean, a lot of people after last season were like, ‘Why are you doing another season? It should have just ended.’ But to me, there are still so many questions with the other characters, and with Barry — and there’s so many things unsaid.” He teased that season four will be “structurally radical in some ways, but it made sense for what I think the characters needed to go through, and what I think the whole show is always kind of headed towards.”

Hader was also asked whether he thinks it’s possible for frequent murderer Barry Berkman to be redeemed. “I mean, we asked ourselves that up to the ending,” he said. “Me and the writers, we would talk about it. I don’t know. I’m interested to see what people think about how it concludes. I don’t think he’s given up.”

You can see the season four poster below.

Ivanka Trump Seemingly Threw Her Whole Family Under The Bus While Attempting To Delay New York Fraud Trial

Ivanka Trump made an interesting court filing in the pending trial that accuses the Trump Organization of committing real estate fraud. Ivanka reportedly joined her father and brothers in attempting to delay the trial, but she took a noticeably different approach that basically pointed the finger at everyone not named Ivanka.

According to Bloomberg reporter Erik Larson, Ivanka’s lawyers are arguing that she hasn’t been accused of “lying about her dad’s finances” and the complexity of the charges require more time because, again, she doesn’t appear to be implicated. However, her filings did accuse others of handling dear old dad’s financial filings.

“The Complaint does not contain a single allegation that Ms. Trump directly or indirectly created, prepared, reviewed, or certified any of her father’s financial statements,” her lawyer said in a filing. The suit alleges “that other individuals were responsible for those tasks”

The New York fraud case is not the first time that Ivanka has attempted to protect herself from her father’s legal troubles. During the January 6 investigation, Ivanka testified that she agreed with Attorney General Bill Barr’s assessment that there was no fraud in the 2020 presidential election. Upon learning of her remarks, Trump was furious and lashed out at his once-favorite daughter on Truth Social.

“Ivanka Trump was not involved in looking at, or studying, Election results,” Trump raged. “She had long since checked out and was, in my opinion, only trying to be respectful to Bill Barr and his position as Attorney General (he sucked!)”

Meanwhile, Tiffany Trump has yet to be implicated in either the New York fraud case or January 6 investigation, making her the clear winner of the Trump family’s version of Game of Thrones.

Jenna Ortega Changed Lines In Her Script For ‘Wednesday’ To Evade A ‘Boring’ Story Without An ‘Emotional Arch’

Jenna Ortega might be leaning into the whole “weirdo with a morbid personality” thing thanks to Wednesday Addams, but it seems like she has bigger plans for the character. After becoming a beloved Gen Z icon, Wednesday (the show and the character) is a huge hit for Netflix, though Ortega has opened up about how difficult it was for her to really get the feel for where the show, and her character, were headed.

Ortega was a guest on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert Podcast when she discussed the process of figuring out who Wednesday would really be, which took some time. “When I first signed on, I didn’t have all of the scripts, and I thought it was going to be a lot darker,” Ortega began, explaining that she was unsure of if the series would be geared more towards kids or more mature audiences. Shepard then asked how hard it was to balance out the juxtaposing of those dramatic scenes with, say, a gothic dance party. Ortega admitted it was difficult the way the character was written, via Indiewire:

“I don’t think I’ve ever had to put my foot down on a set the way I had to on Wednesday. It’s so easy to fall into that category, especially in this type of show. Everything that she does, everything that I had to play, did not make sense for her character at all. Her being in a love triangle made no sense. There was a line about a dress she has to wear for a school dance and she said, ‘Oh my god I love, it, ugh, I can’t believe I said that, I literally hate myself.’ And I had to go, ‘No.”

Ortega then explained that it was hard for her to grapple with some of Wednesday’s storylines, which inspired her to re-write scenes:

“There [were] times on that set where I even became like, unprofessional in a sense, I just started changing lines. The script supervisor thought that I was going with something and I would have to sit down with the writers and they would be like, ‘wait, what happened with the scene?’ And I would have to go through and explain why I couldn’t do certain things …. You can’t lead the story and have no emotional arc, because it’s boring and nobody likes you. When you are little and say very morbid, offensive stuff, it’s funny and endearing. But then you become a teenager and it’s nasty and you know it. There’s less of an excuse.”

Even though Ortega didn’t agree with some dialogue, she was still able to bring the show a massive fan base, which proves that her perspective as the lead is pretty valuable and pays off! Hopefully get some sort of writing credit for season two, though she later said that she prefers film. So maybe an Addams Family Values remake is in the cards.
