Luka Doncic And Devin Booker Got Face-To-Face After Luka’s Blown Layup To Lose To The Suns

The Suns and Mavs really do not like each other, and their budding rivalry is one of the best things going in the NBA. On Sunday afternoon in Dallas, the two teams met in what became another tense battle that saw both teams seemingly take control at various times, only for the stars on the other side to get things going and pull things back to make it tight.

Ultimately, it was the Suns that came out on top thanks to some late-game heroics from Kevin Durant, who was simply unstoppable in the closing minute, burying the go-ahead jumper with just under 12 seconds on the clock.

Luka Doncic would drive on Josh Okogie on the ensuing Mavs possession, bumping Okogie to the ground and having a wide open layup chance that he somehow blew, with Kevin Durant snagging the rebound to secure the Suns win.

After that, Devin Booker came over to point to the spot and yell at a ref about Doncic getting away with a charge, which Luka took exception to and told Booker to “f*ck off” and the two got in each other’s face with big grins as they chirped at one another and pushed a bit.

They were handed offsetting technicals, as there was nothing really to the dustup. It’s a bit funny to see Doncic getting mad at someone else chirping at the officials given his propensity for getting on the refs, although he may have thought Booker pointing at the spot was taunting him for missing from 3 feet away from the basket.

In any case, the Suns got the win in a game where Durant and Booker each went over 35 points, while Doncic and Kyrie Irving each had over 30, as the stars showed out exactly as everyone hoped. The closing sequence only adds to the intrigue between these two teams and the hope of NBA fans that we’ll get another Dallas-Phoenix playoff series later this year.

Adele Offered A Newlywed Couple A Very Special Gift During Her Las Vegas Residency Show

Everyone loves Adele (well, except Chaka Khan), especially on the internet, thanks in part to her award-winning discography but also due to the plethora of memes she has unintentionally given birth to over the past few years. The love for the singer has only heightened over the last few months as her Weekends With Adele Las Vegas residency has brought out fans from all over the world.

The “Easy On Me” singer has made it clear that she expected all black-tie vibes during each performance but attendees have taken it a step further. Apparently, Adele’s residency has become an unofficial go-to wedding-stop ticketed event. Not only has the singer aided in a few romantic proposals at past shows, but just recently a newlywed couple attending the show looking for the singer to sign the bride’s wedding gown.

As the recording artist was being escorted out of The Colosseum at Caesars Palace through the concert hall, she waved to fans until she was stopped in her tracks by a couple overly dressed for the occasion. Fresh off of their wedding ceremony, the bride and groom headed straight to the show, still dressed in their respective formal suit and wedding gown. As the singer stopped to ask if they had just gotten married, the bride asked for the singer to sign her gown. The groom quickly pulled out a pen, and Adele couldn’t resist.

Users on Twitter rushed to share their congratulatory messages to the couple, applauding Adele for the kind gesture.

While others wasted no time, trimming the video for what we’re sure will be Adele’s next trending meme.

Weekends with Adele at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada, will conclude on March 25, 2023.

Steven Spielberg Has An Appropriately Fantastical Theory About That Recent Spate Of UFOs

For the last half century, Steven Spielberg has graced the big screen — and occasionally the small screen — with fantastical visions of the outlandish. Some what does the guy who made Close Encounters of the Third Kind think of an occurrence similar to that movie, namely the recent spate of UFOs? As it happens, he has an appropriately out-there theory on that subject.

During a recent career-spanning interview with Stephen Colbert, the Oscar-winning filmmaker as asked his thoughts on those unidentified flying objects, including the mysterious balloon from China. He got a little conspiratorial.

“I’ve never seen a UFO,” Spielberg admitted. “I wish I had! I’ve never seen anything I can’t explain. But I believe certain people who have seen things that they can’t explain. I think what has been coming up recently is fascinating, absolutely fascinating. And I think the secrecy that is shrouding all of these sightings and the lack of transparency… I think there is something going on that just needs extraordinary due diligence.”

He added, “I don’t believe we’re alone in the universe. I think it’s mathematically impossible that we are the only intelligent species in the cosmos. I think that’s totally impossible. At the same time, it also seems impossible that someone would visit us from 400 million lightyears from here — except in the movies, of course — unless it figures out some way of jumping the shark, so to speak, and getting here through wormholes.”

Spielberg then floated a theory on what they could be. “The most optimistic thing I feel about these things we see in the skies, that the Army and Navy and Air Force are recording on their gun cameras, is that what if they’re not from an advanced civilization 300 million lightyears from here?,” he theorized. “What if it’s us, 500,000 years in the future, that is coming back to document the second half of the 20th century and into the 21st century because they’re anthropologists? And they know something we don’t quite know yet that has occurred, and they’re trying to track the last hundred years of our history.”

Of course, that theory hinges on the idea that humanity to still be kicking around in 500,000 years, which Colbert joked may be outlandish. “Yes, we survive,” Spielberg said. “Or at least a certain percentage of us survives that allows future generations to flourish.”

Spielberg’s theory — which is a lot more soothing than the one cooked up by Tucker Carlson — sounds a bit like the last half hour of his 2001 sci-fi film A.I. Artificial Intelligence, which [SPOILER] finds humanity slowly wiped out by the effects of climate change. Their robot creations, however, seem to have evolved and use the boy droid played by Haley Joel Osment to learn about humanity before their behavior eradicated them from the planet.

How Many Episodes Are In ‘Power Book II: Ghost’ Season 3?

On March 17, the Power Universe returns to the small screen thanks to Power Book II: Ghost season three. Things will pick up right from the aftermath of season two’s dramatic events, and when we say drama, we mean drama. Season two ended with the shocking deaths of Zeke, Mecca, and Lauren. Zeke was accidentally killed by Lorenzo while Mecca was killed by Monet (played by Mary J. Blige) during a confrontation at his apartment. Monet was absolutely distraught when she learned about Zeke’s death shortly after, but Lorenzo did not confess to the accident. As for Lauren, she was killed in an accident that looked a lot less like an accident thanks when Ellie’s involvement is put into consideration.

In better news, Tariq successfully beat his case after Brayden said it was him, not Tariq, who was selling drugs on campus out of their dorm room. He also said that Course Correct was a solo operation with Tariq being nothing more than a roommate. So now that you’re up to speed on Power Book II: Ghost, here’s the game plan for season three.

How Many Episodes Are In ‘Power Book II: Ghost’ Season 3?

Just like season two, the third season of Power Book II: Ghost will feature a total of ten episodes. Each episode will be an hour long and premiere every Friday on STARZ. The new episodes will be available to watch on the STARZ app and website starting at 12:00am EST/PST on Fridays. The episode will then air again on the STARZ channel at 8PM EST/PST.

Now that you know how many episodes are in season three, and when they come out, here’s an official synopsis of the upcoming season:

The third season of “Power Book II: Ghost” kicks off with Tariq St. Patrick determined to get his trust, get back to his family, and get out of the game for good. The emergence of a ruthless new connect interrupts Tariq’s plans to reunite with Tasha and Yaz and puts him, Brayden, and Effie back into business with the Tejadas as they’re challenged to move more weight than ever before. When Brayden brings Tariq in as an intern at his family’s hedge fund Weston Holdings, the drug business expands beyond Stansfield and the streets onto Wall Street, while Tariq is also shown an alternate, legitimate path to success.

Monet Tejada, set ablaze by the death of her son Zeke Cross, is willing to pay a hefty price to avenge her firstborn and keep the rest of her children – and the business – in line as she works closely with Davis MacLean to solve Zeke’s murder and keep the feds off her trail. Business is booming when a staggering reveal forces Tariq to reckon with a betrayal from those closest to him… and a R.I.C.O. investigation mounting into the entire drug enterprise, pulling Tariq deeper into the business and even closer to the legacy of his father.

Season 3 of ‘Power Book II: Ghost’ debuts on STARZ on March 17.

Nicki Minaj’s Surprise Return To Rolling Loud Was Riddled With Tech Issues: ‘Kill The DJ, Kill The Sound Guy’

On Sunday, March 4, Nicki Minaj made her return to Rolling Loud as the lone special guest for her longtime friend and mentor Lil Wayne’s headlining set.

Last year, the “Super Freaky Girl” rapper made history as the festival’s first woman headliner at the New York installment. Fast forward to yesterday, a day after the release of her new single, “Red Ruby Da Sleeze,” the Queens native wanted to celebrate with a mixed melody performance of her classic and newer hints. Unfortunately it didn’t go over as planned.

As Minaj began to get heated up after being introduced by Wayne, the individual responsible for the event audio struggled to deliver her outlined setlist in the order she had provided. While she attempted to remain calm on stage, she eventually grew frustrated. Lil Wayne tried to brush over the technical hiccups by dancing along to the song playing on stage (Minaj’s “Chun-Li” and Wayne’s “Truffle Butter” featuring Minaj).

However, after repeatedly cueing the parties responsible for the audio to which song should be played, she said, “Kill the DJ. Kill the sound guy.”

One user on Twitter claiming to have inside knowledge wrote, “I was there. I actually don’t think it was on the DJ. It sounded like someone from the sound team was cueing the music, at least for her set. He had zero issues during Wayne’s set, and peep how it sounds as if they’re skipping thru songs on an iPad vs. how DJs drop them in.”

Nicki Minaj hasn’t addressed the matter any further.

Chris Rock Revealed That He Got His Own Daughter Kicked Out Of Private School (For A Good Reason)

On Saturday, Chris Rock held his first major stand-up special since that Oscars slap that shocked the world. He saved it for last, and he did not disappoint: Not only had the comic not forgiven and forgot, he was still fuming. Rock’s scorched earth finale, in which he torched both Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, overshadowed the 50 minutes or so that preceded it, which may be why people weren’t talking about one of his more surprising revelations.

At one point during Rock’s hour-long set, he talked about his daughters, Lola and Zahra, who he described as “rich kids.” “My kids ski, they ride horses,” he said. “They fence. I got fencing little Black girls.”

Rock doesn’t want them to grow up to be spoiled, though, and to demonstrate how committed he is to that, he told a story about a time when Lola got into trouble in high school at a private school. During a class trip to Portugal, Lola and four other students slipped out to go drinking. They were caught. Not that they were ever in real trouble.

“These crazy white schools got rich ass white parents and rich ass white parents do not let their kids get kicked out of school,” Rock explained. “So all the parents, they all got lawyers, even the ones that were lawyers got lawyers. Good lawyers.”

Though Rock’s ex-wife was adamant they lawyer up to keep Lola in school, he decided otherwise. He secretly drove to the school and asked the dean for a favor.

“I need you to kick my daughter out of this school,” he recalled saying. “I need you to kick her Black ass out of this school. I need my Black child to learn her lesson right now before she is up on OnlyFans and some sh*t Please kick my child out of f*cking school.”

And so they did (along with the other girls, amazingly).

The happy ending? Lola appears to have learned the lesson and applied herself. She’s now in culinary school in Paris and doing great. Her father, meanwhile, just had perhaps the most attention-grabbing stand-up special of his long career.

Power Book II: Ghost, where 50 Cent serves as an executive producer, will return for season three in less than two weeks and it comes after a dramatic end to season two. Zeke (played by Daniel Bellomy) was killed by Lorenzo (played by Berto Colon) who mistook him for Mecca (played by Daniel Sunjata). At the end of the season two finale episode, Monet (played by Mary J. Blige) is with her family when she learns that Zeke was killed and Lorenzo opts to stay quiet about his involvement in it As for Mecca, he will not appear in season three as he was shot and killed by Monet. Lastly, Tariq learns that Lauren (played by Paige Hurd) died in a car accident as she sought to escape town, but her death, just like Zeke’s, has some people suspicious.

Season two of Power Book II: Ghost also concluded with Brayden testifying at Tariq’s trial that he was the whole who was dealing drugs out of their dorm. He also testified that Course Correct was a solo operation which was enough to have Tariq freed. It gave Tariq the opportunity to stop Yaz’s adoption, but he realized that his little sister going to a safer and more stable family would probably be best for her. Woman shares her pre-pandemic tattoo as worst case of ‘bad timing’ in the history of body art

It’s amazing to consider just how quickly the world has changed over the past 11 months. If you were to have told someone in February 2020 that the entire country would be on some form of lockdown, nearly everyone would be wearing a mask, and half a million people were going to die due to a virus, no one would have believed you.

Yet, here we are.

PPE masks were the last thing on Leah Holland of Georgetown, Kentucky’s mind on March 4, 2020, when she got a tattoo inspired by the words of a close friend.

“We were just talking about things we admire about each other and he said, ‘You courageously and radically refuse to wear a mask,’ like meaning that I’m undeniably myself. I thought that was a really poetic way of saying that,” Holland told Fox 13.

So, she had “courageously & radically refuse to wear a mask” tattooed on her left forearm. It’s a beautiful sentiment about Leah’s dedication to being her true self. It’s also a reminder for Leah to remain true to herself throughout her life.

However, the tattoo would come to have a very different meaning just two days later when the first case of COVID-19 was reported in Kentucky.

“It basically looked like I’m totally, you know, anti-mask or whatever, which is not the case,” said Holland.

Now, she was embarrassed to be seen with the tattoo for fear she’d be associated with the anti-maskers who either deny the existence of the virus or refuse to wear a mask to protect others. Either way, it’s a bad look.

So Leah started wearing long-sleeve shirts and cardigan sweaters whenever in public to cover up the tattoo.

On Monday, TikTok users asked each other to share their “dumbest tattoo” and she was pretty sure she had the winner.

@wakaflockafloccar #stitch with @hannanicbic I could NOT have had worse timing. #fyp #foryoupage #tattoo #worsttattoo #winner ♬ original sound – wakaflockafloccare

In her video, she talks about how her tattoo was about “not pretending to be something you’re not,” but then revealed it to show how — after a historical twist — it made her out to be someone she isn’t.

“I just kind of wanted people to laugh with me because I think it’s funny now, too,” said Holland.

Plenty of people on TikTok laughed along with her with one user suggesting she update the tattoo with the phrase: “Hindsight is 2020.”

“I was dying laughing. I’m like, I’m glad there are people that find this as funny as I think it is,” said Holland.

“It will be a funny story to tell years from now,” she said. “I don’t think it will ever not be a funny story.”

Unfortunately, even when the pandemic is over, Leah will still probably have to explain her tattoo. Because most won’t soon forget the COVID-19 era in America and there’s no doubt many will still feel passionate about those who refused to wear a mask.

People are dying over this kid’s emotional reaction to learning his sister is his half-sister

Pam has a little brother, who recently learned that he is actually her half-brother.

Of course, half-siblings are still very much siblings, but Pam’s brother doesn’t quite grasp the concept yet and seems upset about having to part with 50% of his sister.

So when she came home recently, she found this letter he’d written. It will make you cry, so have off-brand tissues on hand:

brother, sister, family dynamics, sibling love

OMG.

As if this letter isn’t enough to turn your heart into a soft pile of oatmeal, he also left her some of her (presumably) favorite snacks, like Chips Ahoy and Takis (excellent choices!).

Pam, being a human with a soul, was deeply moved and tweeted out a photo of her little brother’s letter:

It quickly went viral. And now the whole internet is now welling up with tears.

And others are sharing their own sibling stories:

These are so, so sweet.

Don’t say we didn’t warn you about the tissues.

Remember this next time you get into a fight with your sibling. Half or whole, doesn’t matter. Love/hate is love/hate!

Artist makes everyday spaces magical by cleverly adding pixelated, old-school pop-culture icons

Anyone who grew up in the late ’80s and early ’90s—Gen X, I’m looking at you—grew up in a world that was dominated by 8-bit graphics. Back in the day, computers and video game systems had a limited amount of processing power so the graphics had to be simple.

That meant the heroes that we played with such as Mario from Super Mario Brothers or Link from The Legend of Zelda, had to be super simple looking and we had to fill in the rest with our imaginations.

Video graphics have come a long way over the past 30-plus years, but people still love the old designs because it takes them back to a simpler time. This has led to an 8-bit movement where people use their creativity to make art within the confines of the limited medium.

Some people also use the limited 8-bit soundscape to create music that’s reminiscent of the old games. Sure, computer game music may be much more sophisticated these days, but is there anything better than the soundtrack to the original Tetris? Would Super Mario Brothers be the same with a sophisticated soundtrack? I think not.

Swedish artist Johan Karlgren, who goes by the name Pappas Pärlor, creates pixelated 8-bit-looking art and then inserts it into everyday scenes. The interesting thing is that his 8-bit art isn’t done with computer graphics, but Perler beads.

Perler beads are small, plastic beads that one places on a grid, and when the picture is done, they are melted with a household clothing iron. The beads are a fun hobby for kids who love to see the melting beads ooze their way into a fully-formed picture.

Although they weren’t originally intended to make 8-bit art, because the beads are placed on a grid when they melt together the designs look like they came straight out of a Nintendo Entertainment System.

Karlgren recreates iconic images from comics, cartoons, video games and movies with the beads and then adds them to the scenarios, turning the mundane into the whimsical.

What’s Karlgren’s big inspiration? “Anything that makes me feel something,” he told Bored Panda. “It could be anything from childhood memories to politics or people doing awesome stuff that I wanna interpret.”

For Karlgren, his work is the byproduct of having a good time. “I don’t really choose what to create. My work is sprung from playing, and I’ll try to go with the ideas that come up in my head,” he said.

One of the hallmarks of Karlgen’s work is taking drab places such as a parking lot or other types of urban infrastructure and livening them up with the addition of one of his Perler bead creations. “It’s something that makes me happy, and hopefully other people [when] seeing it as well,” he told Newsweek.

Karlgren is a father of four and started posting his creations on Instagram back in April 2014. Since then, his fun, old-school designs have earned him more than 144,000 followers. Here are some of his coolest, and funniest 8-bit designs.
