Bruce Springsteen Just Performed A Vintage Song He Hadn’t Played Live In Over 50 Years

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are currently embarking on their 2023 tour, and it appears they’re adding some setlist changes sprinkled into different cities. During their recent concert at Houston’s Toyota Center, Springsteen played his 1972 song, “If I Was The Priest,” for the first time in over fifty years.

“I wrote this song,” Springsteen said. “I was 22. 50 years ago. I still don’t have a clue what the f*ck it’s about.”

As the story goes, he had played it during auditions that year for managers Mike Appel and Jim Cretecos and a try-out at CBS Records. Since then, there’s been no documentation that he’s played the song live since May 2, 1972, according to Rolling Stone… until now.

Springsteen went on to re-record the track for his 2020 album, Letters To You, as part of the three archival songs included. (The other two were “Song For Orphans” and “Janey Needs a Shooter.”)

“It’s fun to go back and see how wild my lyric writing was, and how uninhibited it was at a certain moment, and to be able to take that and bring it into the present with the band, and sing it in my voice right now, was a bit of a joy ride,” Springsteen told the New York Times that year. “The thing about those songs, every line is insane! And somehow they end up making sense about something. I’m not sure how I did it at the time.”

Fousheé’s Tiny Desk Concert Solo Debut Is A Whirlwind Of Emotions, And Yes, She’s Still ‘Single AF’

Fousheé is without question one of alternative music’s rising stars. Having collaborated with artists such as Lil Wayne, Lil Yachty, Vince Staples, Lil Uzi Vert, and Steve Lacy, there is no denying she is a fresh creative force. The singer, rapper, songwriter, and guitarist blends together several sonic elements into some painfully related music. Her 12-track sophomore project, softCORE, is the perfect showing how her musical genius.

Having already appeared on NPR’s Tiny Desk [At Home] Concert series as a guest of her friend, Vince Staples, the New Jersey native is finally making her solo debut in person at the network’s DC office. Fousheé wastes no time jumping start into “Spend The Money,” which originally features Lil Uzi Vert as her band, guitarist Lilly Graves (who also serves as the musical director), bassist Jake Strade, and drummer Tobias Kelly provides additional support.

Before transitioning to the next song of her setlist, Fousheé takes moment to acknowledge her joy in being there. She shares that it was a long day of traveling from Los Angeles, where she now resides, to NPR’s corporate office, but as she said, “I was raised on the East coast, so it feels good to be back on my home coast.”

Fousheé and her band then transition into her single, “I’m Fine.” The track is a melting pot of alternative r&b and metal as Fousheé graciously flows between her delicate yet endearing vocals to a scary, deeply projected scream. As the song ends, she tells the crowd, “Maybe I’m not fine, but are any of us,” before adding, “And it’s OK to not be fine. It’s all about balance.”

Next on the docket is her breakout song, “Single AF,” and in case anyone is curious, the singer confirms that even though she wrote the song years ago inside of her fourth-floor Harlem walkup, her relationship status remains single as f*ck. Fousheé reluctantly concludes her performance with the track “Candy Grapes.”

Cardi B Makes A Request That Only Offset Can Answer In Her Alluring Valentine’s Day Photos

It’s no secret that Cardi B and her husband Offset are one of rap’s more touchy-feely couples — and that’s kind of an understatement. In reality, the couple can’t keep their hands off of each other, putting on public displays of affection anywhere the mood strikes. That even includes the Grammys red carpet and Super Bowl commercial for their joint meal at McDonald’s.

So of course, Valentine’s Day is more or less their unofficial holiday. And while Cardi’s timeline for the majority of the day was made up of promotional retweets for the aforementioned McDonald’s meal, she made sure to get a few fit pics up ahead of the holiday with a special request for her hubby. “Excuse me …..can I sit on top of you?” she captioned the photos, which captured her arrival at their hotel, the spectacular view, and her glistening jewelry.

And although she hasn’t quite shared the couple’s plans, apparently, things went well:

The couple had been keeping things low-key for the last couple of months as Cardi comforted Offset in the wake of the death of his bandmate and family member Takeoff. However, that hasn’t stopped Cardi from teasing fans with her first album in five years. That’ll be one gift we can all appreciate.

A Documentary About Pornhub Is Coming (Pun Intended) To Netflix

Let’s say, hypothetically speaking, you were making a documentary about Pornhub, a website you have obviously never visited [looks around nervously]. You could do a lot worse than to call it Money Shot, which, whaddaya know, is the title of a new film from documentarian Alex Gibney’s Jigsaw Productions that’s coming to Netflix.

Money Shot: The Pornhub Story will explore how Pornhub helped adult content creators reach “a massive audience while the company made billions of dollars — but it also became embroiled in allegations including non-consensual material and trafficking on the site,” according to the Netflix description. “As anti-trafficking organizations seek justice for victims, can the online giant protect those from whom they profit, or is this a new wave of censorship for adult performers making consensual porn?”

“This documentary requires us to grapple with what sexuality and consent means when billion-dollar internet platforms thrive on user-generated content,” Money Shot director and producer Suzanne Hillinger said. “Who has, and who should have, the power in these environments? Our hope is that this film generates important conversations about sex and consent, both on the internet and out in the world.”

Money Shot: The Pornhub Story, which will not help you find hot singles in your area, will debut on Netflix worldwide on March 15.

‘Quantumania’ Star Jonathan Majors Shared His Cinematic Method For Finding Love (And Getting The Heck Out Of It)

Jonathan Majors has been showing off his physical side with super-jacked performances in Magazine Dreams, Creed III, and the upcoming Marvel blockbuster, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. But with Valentine’s Day in the air, the actor showed off his softer, more romantic side where he admits that he falls in love “every day” and cries “probably a few times a week.” In fact, after so many physical roles, the actor would love to star in a romantic comedy.

While promoting Quantumania, Majors opened up about love and how he still doesn’t grasp how he’s become a heartthrob. “It’s a mystery,” Majors said. “It’s so strange because growing up in my neighborhood, people would say, ‘Oh, J with the big nose and the big lips.’ I was just not that guy.”

Majors eventually found his groove when it comes to love, and he’s more than willing to share his secret to attracting the opposite sex. Via The Cut:

For a surefire way to fall in love in 48 hours: “Send a text message with a song. My song of choice would be ‘Come Over,’ by Aaliyah. Then only wear sweatpants. You then have to watch Love Jones–slash–Love & Basketball. After that, the song you should be playing is ‘Whenever Wherever Whatever,’ by Maxwell. The next day, send them another song by Maxwell with ‘I thought you’d like this.’ And it works both ways. If a woman did that to me, I’d lose my mind.”

When it comes time to break up, Majors has you covered there, too.

“First, play ‘Creep,’ by TLC, on repeat,” he said. “Then hum it in the morning, then watch Blue Valentine with your partner and your cat. Then play ‘No Scrubs,’ at which point you would’ve completely ended your relationship.”

Paramore’s ‘Kimmel’ Performance Of ‘Running Out Of Time’ Will Make You Want To Stop All Clocks

Paramore may not be considered a legacy act, but as the band approaches the 20th anniversary of its formation, that title is coming within reach. The early 2000s, as singer Hayley Williams recounts, wasn’t the kindest to her. Fortunately, over time, thanks to the constant support of their fans, Williams and her bandmates have been etched into rock music history. Paramore’s recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! proves why.

Performing their latest song, “Running Out Of Time” from their new album This Is Why, explores the topic of time but under a different gaze. As Williams sings, “Never mind, I hit the snooze on my alarm twenty times / But I was just so tired / There was traffic, spilled my coffee, crashed my car, otherwise / Woulda been here on time / Shoulda, coulda, wouldn’t matter, ultimate alibi / You know it’s a lie,” you are confronted with the micro ways in which we intentionally or unintentional waste the most valuable thing given to us — time.

The track was inspired by, as hard as it may be to believe, music superstar Taylor Swift. During an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, Williams revealed the back story of the song’s origin.

“I remember when we were 19, and I was closer with Taylor Swift at that point because we both lived in Nashville, and we were both experiencing our own versions of real success for the first time,” Williams recalled. “I went over to hang out. She’s a really good cook, by the way. She’s a really good cook. She has taught me how to make stuff that I did not retain at all.”

Well, fans of the track are thankful for the pair’s meeting that birthed the single.

The ‘You’ Season Four Part Two Trailer Brings A Ghost Back From The Dead

(Spoilers for You Season 4 Part 1 will be found below.)

Joe Goldberg is a very complicated man! Even though he began You as a lowly bookshop clerk, he has risen above all of those pesky obstacles to become a professor in London. And by “obstacles” I mean stalking, harassing, kidnapping, killing, etc. You get it. But he has a beard now, and that’s all that counts.

The first half of You season four turned the show on its head by revealing Joe/Jonathan had his own stalker, which was (spoiler) revealed to be Rhys. Part two of the season kicks into high gear as Rhys enlists Joe to help him carry out various schemes.

The trailer for the second batch of episodes features Joe grappling with his murderous past but proclaiming that he is not a cold-blooded psycho, while Rhys continues to blackmail him. You might start to feel a little bad for him before you remember that killed his ex-wife and abandoned his kid. This man has a lot of complex ideas about love.

Speaking of Love, she seems to appear to Joe towards the end of the trailer, probably in some sort of hallucination, but it’s always good to see Victoria Pedretti back on the screen!

The final five episodes of You season four will drop on Netflix on March 9th. Check out the trailer above.
