Sam Smith And Kim Petras’ Grammy Performance Reportedly Prompted Several Complaints To The FCC

The internet is still abuzz over Sam Smith and Kim Petras‘ performance of their hit single, “Unholy.” While fans lauded the performance, several viewers deemed it “satanic” and “sacrilegious.”

According to reports from TMZ, filed complaints against CBS and the Federal Communications Commission.

Some viewers took offense to the outwardly sexual imagery, while others felt the performance glorified devil worship.

In one of the obtained complaints, a viewer from Blufton, South Carolina called the “Unholy” performance “outright porn.”

“I’m sure there is a reasonable number of rules governing this type of behavior,” read the complaint. “This is not equity and inclusion this is outright disgusting and should be shown to underage kids on regular TV. I expect the FCC two to find CBS for this type of behavior to reset the standard for family-friendly TV programming.”

Another viewer from Austin, Texas took issue with the “pentagrams and Satanism portrayed.”

“This should not be acceptable for the greater public to see unless there are exclusive warnings about the damage it can do,” read the complaint.

A viewer from Allen, Texas was so offended by the performance that they have decided to cancel their television service outright.

In an interview captured by Variety that took place after the performance, Petras shared that the “Unholy” performance was inspired by not feeling accepted by religion.

“I think a lot of people, honestly, have kind of labeled what I stand for and what Sam stands for as religiously not cool,” said Petras, “and I personally grew up wondering about religion and wanting to be a part of it but slowly realizing it didn’t want me to be a part of it. So it’s a take on not being able to choose religion. And not being able to live the way that people might want you to live, because as a trans person I’m already not kind of wanted in religion.”

Madame Tussauds Unveiled A New ‘Certified Lover Boy’ Inspired Drake Wax Figure

Drake‘s Certified Lover Boy era has been immortalized with a new wax figure at Madam Tussauds in London. The wax museum recently shared the announcement on social media. The Toronto rap star’s first wax figure — inspired by his “Hot Line Bling” video — has been on display at the museum’s Las Vegas location since 2019. His second figure will be part of a new exhibit, the Impossible Festival music zone, in its London location. The statue captures Drake’s look from his performance at the 2021 Wireless Festival in the British capital, complete with his notable Certified Lover Boy-era heart-shaped lineup.

In addition to his CLB-inspired lineup, the rapper’s wax figure was styled with adorned with a matching camouflage shirt and pants combo, a green cropped puffer jacket, and white-on-white Air Force 1’s and replica Cartier and Van Cleef jewelry, according to a press release.

“Drake has shown his love for London on numerous occasions, with his surprise appearance at Wireless Festival being just one example of this,” said Madame Tussauds London’s general manager Tim Waters in a recent statement. “With reports that he’s soon to call London home, we wanted to make sure we were able to give him a warm welcome to our streets and show that the love is reciprocated the only way we know how by immortalizing him in our famous attraction.”

But Drake isn’t the latest Grammy-winning hitmaker to receive a wax figure this year. Madame Tussauds recently released its new Rihanna wax statue inspired by her now-iconic 2018 Met Gala outfit.

Don Toliver Teased His ‘Lovesick’ Album, Which Seems Like It May Arrive Soon

It looks like Don Toliver‘s upcoming album, Lovesick may arrive in the near future. Today (February 11), the Houston-native singer took to Instagram to drop some hints.

In his Instagram story, the “Do It Right” singer is seen holding a whiteboard reading “Lovesick” at the top. It appears a potential tracklist was smudged out using Instagram effects.

In the next section of the story was a black screen, with text reading “The Month of Love is what they say.”

While it’s not clear what “the month of love” is, it’s safe to assume Toliver is referring to February, especially as we are just days away from Valentine’s Day. Toliver has also cleared his entire Instagram, which, in this day and age, signifies that a new musical era is imminent.

We don’t know a whole lot about Lovesick, however, in a December interview with Clash, Toliver revealed that his upcoming third album will follow a cohesive, sequential narrative.

“On this particular album, I really locked in on the actual story and the theme of the album and basically the tracklist is going in sequence, in motion of the actual story, of what it will be,” he said.

Don Toliver is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Lil Durk’s Latest Fashion Choice Inspired Hilarious Reactions From Fans

Lil Durk‘s recent fashion choice has fans scratching their heads. The Chicago-bred rapper was recently spotted sporting a very unique piece of clothing while attending a basketball game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Milwaukee Bucks at the Crypto.com Arena in LA. The “OTF ” rhymer wore what appears to be a fuzzy sweater with a broken skateboard attached to the front. Fashion designer Johnathan Anderson is the one behind the design of the peculiar garment which is causing quite a stir.

The sweater is part of the innovative designer’s namesake brand JW, which debuted last June during Paris Men’s Fashion Week.

As expected, the skateboard-adorned sweater caused quite a stir on social media. It didn’t take fans long to offer their hilarious opinions on the rapper’s recent fashion choice.

“Man, rich people be wearing anything now, next, you’ll see a whole kitchen as a fit,” one fan jokingly predicted.

“You think he kicked or pushed to get this on?” another person tweeted.

“He does know that’s just supposed to be runway art, right?” one person wrote.

But not everyone agrees. Some folks are actually a fan of Durk’s new look.

“That dude actually pulled it off y’all hating,” another fan tweeted.

Vin Diesel Is Bringing Back The Character That First Made His Name For A Fourth Installment

When did the public first really notice Vin Diesel? It wasn’t the original Fast and the Furious. He only had a (memorable) small role, three years prior, in Saving Private Ryan. Not enough people at the time, sadly, heard his voice in 1998’s The Iron Giant. His big breakthrough was really Pitch Black, from the year 2000, in which he debuted Richard B. Riddick, the anti-heroic rogue and badass introduced taking on some really nasty alien critters. Now he’s coming back, again.

As per Deadline, the longtime Dominic Toretto is reuniting with David Twohy, director of Pitch Black and the subsequent two Riddick movies, for a fourth installment. It’s called Riddick: Furya (named after Riddick’s species), and it follows 2004’s super-sized The Chronicles of Riddick and 2013’s more stripped-down threequel, entitled simply Riddick. Here’s how Deadline describes the plot:

In the new film, Riddick finally returns to his home world, a place he barely remembers and one he fears might be left in ruins by the Necromongers. But there he finds other Furyans fighting for their existence against a new enemy. And some of these Furyans are more like Riddick than he could have ever imagined.

The news comes on the heels of Fast X, the 10th official Fast and Furious movie, debuting its raucous new trailer. There’s still one more left (at least part of the main storyline), and Diesel’s hoping he can lure a certain Oscar-winning comic book movie superstar to the ever-growing “family.” Then maybe Diesel can dust off another of his popular characters: Xander Cage.

Editor’s Pick: Clarks Desert Trek

clark boot
CLARK TREK

If you want to capture that Steve McQueen movie star energy, you need a pair of Clark boots. And if you want to have an iconic pair of Clark boots, you have to go with the Desert Trek, with its iconic center seam. The leather back tab makes this shoe feel a little more upmarket than the classic Clarks but the crepe soles are still in place, keeping the functionality on point.

Speaking personally, I find these to be the perfect NYC boot — referencing the Timberland history of the city, without being quite so clunky. I’m also wearing them right now, in Joshua Tree — y’know, the actual desert — where they make perfect sense on the trail or at a bar.

BOTTOM LINE: An iconic pair with perfect detailing.

The Clark’s Desert Trek is out now for a retail price of $150. Pick up a pair via the Clark’s webstore.

Twista Teased Plans To Update Beyoncé’s ‘Cuff It’ Remix With A Verse Of His Own

Beyoncé‘s Renaissance proves to be the gift that keeps on giving. Last weekend, the album won a Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album. And with several groovy, hypnotic tracks, who could deny that?

Ahead of the Grammys, Bey released a remix of her viral single, “Cuff It.” Set to the beat of Twista’s 2009 hit, “Wetter,” the “Cuff It (Wetter Remix)” features Bey delivering new harmonies, ad-libs, runs, and additional lyrics. Though Twista’s vocals aren’t sampled or replicated on the remix, he has revealed he wants to give the track an update of his own.

This week, Twista spoke with The Neighborhood Talk and teased a remix to the remix.

The blog asked him if he planned to add to the track. The rapper replied, “Working on it as we speak.”

Of course, as Beyoncé is known to work in secret, Twista didn’t reveal much else, but needless to say, we’re excited about this collab.

While tickets for the Renaissance World Tour may break the bank, and there are no signs of Bey dropping the album’s accompanying visuals anytime soon, she continues to keep fans fed with reimaginings of our favorite tracks.

In the meantime, you can stream “Cuff It (Wetter Remix)” on all digital music platforms here.

Drake Recreates His Apollo Show For An Epic Pre-Super Bowl Bash

Drake recreated his recent performance at the Apollo for a pre-Super Bowl bash. Some of Hollywood’s biggest stars attended the event —rappers like Lil Baby and Meek Mill and professional athletes like Odell Beckham Jr. and Serena Williams — at Hanger One, an event venue in Arizona Friday night. Drake hit the stage with another hitmaker that evening to help celebrate before the upcoming Super Bowl LVII, TMZ reports. The hitmaker in question? Cardi B.

Other stars who attended the event include Machine Gun Kelly, Megan Fox, Cher, and her new beau Alexander Edwards, Tyga, H.E.R., Winnie Harlow, Rich the Kid, Christina Aguilera, and Druski.

Drake seems very excited about the upcoming game. The “Rich Flex” rapper, who’s become known as a high-stakes gambler, recently placed a series of bets totaling nearly $1 million. The Toronto hitmaker took to Instagram to share the series of bets he made ahead of the big game, including putting $700,000 on the Chiefs to win. He also bet that Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster would score touchdowns and Travis Kelce to win the MVP award.

Super Bowl LVII, which will take place at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, this year, will premiere on February 12. Rihanna is expected to perform a medley of her hits during halftime.

What On Earth Was Up With Warren Beatty’s Second (!!) Bizarro ‘Dick Tracy’ Interview Special?

Warren Beatty is perhaps the least prolific Hollywood legend. He’s only acted in 23 films. He’s an Academy Award-winning filmmaker, too, but he’s only directed five films. One of them is 1990’s Dick Tracy, in which he turned Chester Gould’s comics crime fighter into a colorful, over-the-top, and delightful hit. In 2010, the famously reclusive actor came out of hiding to improbably play him again, in an absolutely surreal video where film critic Leonard Maltin interviewed him in character, as a much older man. Now he’s done it again.

On Friday night, Turner Classic Movies scheduled two Dick Tracy films from the 1940s starring Morgan Conway, plus a serial in which Ralph Byrd squares off against Boris Karloff. But there was another, more curious item slipped into the lineup: something called “Dick Tracy Special: Tracy Zooms In.”

The half-hour special found Maltin and TCM presenter Ben Mankiewicz sitting down for a Zoom chat with Beatty as the yellow trenchcoated detective. It starts with a nervous/confused Mankiewicz reviewing the last time Beatty did this, which was already strange. (To make it odder still, Beatty also directed it, meaning it was his follow-up to 1998’s Bulworth.) Then Maltin joined him for a Zoom chat with Beatty’s Tracy.

What did they talk about? Technology, for one thing. “We’re all technocrats now,” Beatty’s Tracy said, lamenting that his once-cutting edge wristwatch radio is now very obsolete.

The majority of the interview, though, found Beatty’s Tracy trashing Beatty, which whom he said he had a falling out. He also tears into the film he made some 33 years back. Using copious clips, he derides the film for being unrealistic, from the part where our hero coldcocks seven baddies at once to the gorgeous but deliberately artificial matte paintings to cinematographer Vittorio Storaro’s Oscar-nominated cinematography, which bathes the crime-ridden city in candy colors. (“A pink street?” Beatty’s now-much-older Tracy rails about one of the lighting gambits.) At one point he gets composer Stephen Sondheim’s name wrong.

Keep in mind that the Beatty Dick Tracy speaking to Maltin and Mankiewicz is once again the “real” Dick Tracy, even though he’s played by and looks exactly like Warren Beatty. Maltin and Mankiewicz look perplexed and a little lost as Beatty stammers and rambles, eventually turning the whole affair into a personal exorcism about his career and his placement in an industry he hasn’t commanded in a very long time.

Eventually they’re joined by…the real Beatty, who Beatty’s Tracy verbally accosts. He eventually begs Beatty to do a reboot, either with a younger actor in the lead or with Beatty as an old Tracy. (Beatty is now 85.) He wonders, though, if movies were the way to go. “Maybe it’s better as a series,” Beatty’s Tracy ponders. “That’s how we started in 1931 in the funny papers.)

Why would Beatty — who again hasn’t made a film since 2016’s underrated Rules Don’t Apply and whose most famous public appearance was when he helped briefly derail the Oscars the following year — make this? It could have to do with the fact that he still owns the rights to Dick Tracy, which he seems to want to retain. As long as he does something every decade-plus, they’ll continue to be his. Or maybe he’s teasing his sixth film, which both Beatty’s say could be called Dick Tracy Returns.

In the meantime, the 1990 Dick Tracy is available to rent online, as is the one that nabbed him his Oscar, 1981’s masterpiece Reds. And you can watch his latest work in the video above.

The Best Pizza Deals For Your Super Bowl Party

Super Bowl Sunday is upon us, which means if you’re planning on attending a Super Bowl party, throwing one, or just simply feel like watching it solo at home, you’re going to need some good food. Although Super Bowl Sunday isn’t a holiday (yet, give it time this country is crazy) we still treat it like one, which is why there is a certain selection of foods that we consider must-grabs for the weekend.

Hot dogs, homemade chicken wings, and some kick-ass chili verde — they’re all essential for a good Super Bowl spread. But if we had to pick a quintessential Super Bowl food, we’re going with pizza.

Preferably, a lot of pizza! This is why we’re shouting out all the best deals from the big pizza chains that’ll get you a lot of food for cheap. A lot of these deals are holdovers from National Pizza Day (which was yesterday) which means you can order them as early as right now, but some have game-day in mind.

Hungry? Let’s get to ordering!

7-Eleven — The 7-Eleven Game Day deal will you get one large one-topping pizza and a 2L of soda for just $8.99

Blaze Pizza — Fans of the custom pizza chan can pick up a large one-topping pizza for just $10 when you make an online order for carry-out. It’s not enough to feed a party but it’s good for some solo game-watching.

California Pizza Kitchen — CPK started its Valentine’s Day special early. From this weekend until February 14, you can pick up an appetizer, two entrees, and a dessert for $40. That might not be enough for an entire Super Bowl party, but if you’ve got a potluck situation going on, that’s more than enough and you can eat the dessert yourself before you arrive!

CiCi’s Pizza — CiCi’s fans can get two large one-topping pizzas and your choice of 20 cinnamon rolls or 16 pieces o cinnamon bread for just $28. For $34 you can pick up two large one-topping pizzas and boneless or traditional wings.

Dominos — Right now Dominos has a few relatively cheap deals that will help you bring some extra food to snack on for your Super Bowl spread. Using the Mix and Match deal you can bring home medium two-topping pizzas, two bread side orders (including cheese bread and cinnasticks) loaded tater tots, boneless chicken wings, pasta, sandwiches, salads or desserts for just $6.99 each.

That’s two 12-inch medium pizzas for less than $15. That’s a steal!

Hungry Howie’s — Hungry Howie’s big deal is almost identical to Dominos. It even has the same name! The mix-and-match features your choice of any two menu items for $7 each. Your options include medium one-topping pizzas, two small two-topping pizzas, no-dough bowls, or eight-piece wing orders.

Marco’s Pizza — Marco’s has a number of delicious deals including unlimited medium-sized one-topping pizzas for $6.99 each (using the code MED699), xLarge two-topping pizzas for $13.99 each (using the code HD1614), or two medium one-topping pizzas, cheesy bread, and a 2-liter of your choice (using the code HD189).

Papa John’s — Papa John’s has taken a page out of Hungry Howie’s and Domino’s playbook with the Papa Pairings. Choose between wings, brownies, Papa-dillas (a pizza quesadilla hybrid, yes it’s as stupid as it sounds) bread sticks, medium one-topping pizzas, or other snacks for just $6.99 each.

Also for a limited time, Papa John’s is also selling the new Crispy Parm Pizza for just $12.99. It’s a thing crust pizza with parmesan and Romano cheese baked right into the bottom of the crust. I’ve had it, it’s delicious. It has this wonderful crispy mouthfeel and is the perfect pie for a true cheese head.

Pizza Hut — In terms of numbers, Pizza Hut has more new products than any other brand out there right now. New products don’t necessarily result in big savings, but if you’re looking for something a little different this Super Bowl, the Hut is your place.

Right now Pizza Hut is selling the Big New Yorker Pizza, a 16-inch pie with six extra-large slices topped with two different types of pepperoni, a sweeter marinara sauce recipe, and parmesan oregano seasoning for $13.99. That’s less than a dollar per inch!

Pizza Hut also has what they’re calling “Pizza Hut Melts” for $6.99 which are essentially small calzones with an open seam that is perfect for dipping. If pizza isn’t what you’re after (why are you reading this article) then you can also get Cheesy Alfredo, Over-baked Italian Meats, Oven-Baked Chicken Alfredo, or Oven-Baked Veggie pasta bowls for just $8.99.

Round Table — Round Table’s new large Stuffed Crust pizza is just $22.99. The pizza comes topped with crispy mini pepperonis and a side of Mike’s Hot Honey. Not going to lie, this isn’t the best deal out there if you’re trying to save money.
