Fashion Icon Rihanna Called Dressing For Pregnancy A ‘Piece Of Cake’ But ‘Didn’t Know What To Put On’ After Giving Birth

Rihanna is on the new cover of British Vogue alongside her partner, ASAP Rocky, and their first child. Throughout the story, she touches on everything from the long-awaited ninth album to her decision about finally headlining the Super Bowl halftime show.

Given the nature of the cover photoshoot and her newly-revealed second pregnancy that she debuted during her performance, Rihanna also spoke about her pregnancy. Particularly, about how she planned her outfits for it — and the struggles afterwards.

For those who remember, her and Rocky revealed the first pregnancy news with a fashion-forward photoshoot last January. She wore a pink puffer jacket that was unbuttoned and a ton of fancy jewels on a necklace.

“Dressing for pregnancy was such a piece of cake,” Rihanna said. “But dressing in postpartum, what the f*ck do you do? The week that I came home from the hospital — that was nothing but sweats and hoodies. But the weeks after that, you don’t know what to put on. Everything is too small or too big. You kind of just gotta wait it out otherwise you end up buying so many clothes you’re not going to use. Well, unless you get pregnant again.”

And, given that this cover story was conducted and written before Rihanna’s official new baby announcement, it seems this was just another teaser.

112’s ‘Cupid’ Video Gets Some ‘React Like You Know’ Love From 2Rare And TiaCorine

Our React Like You Know series is a hit. In the last episode, we quizzed today’s generation of rappers on the hip-hop cult classic track “Get Money” by Junior Mafia featuring The Notorious B.I.G. and Lil Kim. Now, we’re testing a range of Gen-Z recording artists on their knowledge of ’90s R&B, starting with 112’s 1997 song, “Cupid.”

Up to put their musical wits to the test are 2Rare, TiaCorine, Lil Zay Osama, TraTwoThree, Kalan.FrFr, Nascar Aloe, Raiche, Kyle Banks, Bolsen, Pheelz, and more. While many had a laugh about the video’s dated look, comparing it to a 90s Black Harry Potter film, they unanimously agree that the platinum plaque hold record is undeniably smooth.

Rapper 2Rare’s look for the song went a step further as he sampled the song on his breakout single, “Q-Pid” featuring Lil Durk. You can watch his performance of the record as part of our UPROXX Sessions here.

When asked about what about the song made him want to sample it, 2Rare replied, “I’ve been wanted to sample it. I’ve always loved the song. So, when I heard the sample [from DJ Smalls 732], I was like, ‘Yeah, that’s the one,’” he added. “It’s a great song. It’s one of those ones. It makes you feel good.”

You can watch our panel react to the “Get Money” video above.

Bob Odenkirk Challenges A Goose To A Fight In The ‘Lucky Hank’ Trailer

Bob Odenkirk has starred in some of the best TV shows to premiere in the 1990s (Mr. Show), 2000s (Breaking Bad), and 2010s (Better Call Saul). The 2020s have been plenty eventful, too: Odenkirk appeared in one of the best sketches of I Think You Should Leave and, oh yeah, he survived a heart attack while filming the final season of Saul. The actor has also found his new show in which he intimidates a goose to fight him while wearing a boxing glove. A strong best shows of the 2020s contender.

In AMC’s Lucky Hank, Odenkirk plays Professor Hank Devereaux, an English department chairman at an underfunded college who “toes the line between midlife crisis and full-blown meltdown, navigating the offbeat chaos in his personal and professional life – oddly proving tantrums get better with age,” according to the official plot description. Also, something tells me and Professor Hank and Lydia Tár would get along. Or maybe they’re too similar, and would rip each other apart. Either way, I would like to see Bob Odenkirk and Cate Blanchett in something together. Thank you.

“He’s a cranky guy, but you like him,” Odenkirk told EW about his character. “[It’s like] you took a very fun show — like a Parks and Rec — and you said, ‘Let’s slow down and get to know these people and have their internal battles be a little bit more of the subject matter.’ It’s a great mashup of comedy and the kind of drama that we’ve gotten to do on Better Call Saul and it’s become more prevalent in streaming shows. I think it’ll be neat.”

Lucky Hank — which will be neat — premieres on AMC on March 19.

Turns Out Paul Rudd’s Completely Made-Up Stories After Even Better Than His Real Ones

When you have a movie coming out, it makes sense to stop by all of the late-night spots and talk about said movie. When you have a Marvel movie coming out, your face will quite literally be plastered everywhere for upwards of two weeks, with every other interviewer asking about 1) when the next movie will come out and 2) what is Chris Evans like in person? These press cycles have been going on for years at this point.

Paul Rudd, who is not the conventional MCU actor thanks to the fact that he’s just a Goofy Guy, has been making the rounds in support of the latest Ant-Man installment and recently stopped by Late Night with Seth Meyers for more superhero talk. Though he didn’t really get to that part.

As a favor to Rudd, Meyers said that he would love for the actor to improvise a fake story on the spot, as a nice way to give him a little break from talking about Jonathan Majors’ jacked villain. Instead, Meyers tasked Rudd with telling him all about his scary skiing incident:

I’m nervous about heights anyway. And the few times I’ve taken the two-seater ski [lift] I hate it, but the good thing about skiing in Switzerland is that they have gondolas. Nice and warm, protected from the elements. The thing is, when you re in there with all of those people, and it stops, they are all from different parts of the world. I was the only one who spoke English. And the power goes out, everything shut down, and there was no way we were gonna get down. I panicked, I started asking people ‘what do we do,’ and no one could talk to me. There was one person who did recognize me but they were ultimately disappointed because they pegged me for being a writer on your show.

The last line was, of course, referencing the fact that Lizzo thought that Rudd was a late-night writer. Look, it happens. Of course, Rudd was so impressed by his own improv skills, he did it again with a different fake story:

“I’m new to scuba diving, and you’re not supposed to fly the next day,” He started. “I came this close to getting an early flight out, and I know I would’ve died. I know I would have died.” Rudd said, adding that a plane mix-up saved his life, which was never actually in danger because this didn’t really happen.

And this is why Rudd is in the elite group of Saturday Night Live hosts who can improv things that don’t advance the plot at all. But it makes for a great story.

Rihanna Shared The Adorable First TikTok Of Her Newborn Son To Counter A Run-In With The Paparazzi

While Rihanna is one of the most prolific pop icons of our time, she prefers to keep her personal life private. This past weekend, during her Super Bowl halftime performance, she revealed she is expecting her second child. As of now, we don’t even know much about her firstborn child, other than a TikTok she shared last year.

In a recent interview with British Vogue, she revealed that she shared that TikTok specifically so she could beat the paparazzi to the punch, as they were waiting to capture a photo of her son when Rihanna, ASAP Rocky, and their baby were about to get out of a limo.

“It’s the thing you never want to happen,” she said “We get to decide as parents when and how we do that. End of story. Throw me to the wolves. Do what you want with me. But he doesn’t have a say in any of this. We’ve been protecting him thus far and you don’t have any consent to be posting photos or selling photos of my child, a minor. Get the hell out of here with that.”

She continued, saying, “I just went straight into protective mode. Like there wasn’t even time for rage. [Rocky and me] drove up to the trailer area and we sat in the car chatting and working out how we move forward. As parents, it just feels so icky, like a violation.”

As of now, its safe to say she’s keeping details about her family as air-tight as she is details about her upcoming ninth album.

Is Love Quinn Alive In ‘You’ Season 4?

Even though we just checked in with Joe Goldberg over on You, there is never enough Penn Badgley, which is why we were blessed with the trailer for the next batch of episodes today.

As season four began, the Netflix series was flipped on its head after it was revealed that the famous stalker Joe was actually the stalkee for once! At the end of episode five, it was revealed that Rhys is the bad guy who was blackmailing Joe, who is also a bad guy, but we already knew that. The second half of the season will follow Joe/Jonathan as he tries to clear his name and insist on saying he is not a murderer…anymore! That’s not the kind of life you can just leave behind, though.

But speaking of leaving things behind, the teaser also revealed that one of Joe’s former lovers/victims/fan favorites Love Quinn, would appear in an upcoming episode. This begs the question…..is Love alive? Both the person and the concept.

Love Quinn
Netflix

Love, played by Victoria Pedretti, appeared in the teaser sitting in Joe’s notorious glass box that he keeps his books and victims in (this is a real show based on a best-selling novel, by the way). At the end of season three, Love allegedly burns alive after being strangled in the home that she, Joe, and their infant child share. Joe leaves the house, cuts off a few of his toes (the fake his death, of course), drops off his baby that was only used as a plot device, and heads to Europe for season four.

Assuming Love died, her appearance in season four is probably some sort of hallucination or memory, just like we saw with Beck in season one. Though on the other hand….we never really saw Love die. So perhaps we will get some more tag team Mr. and Mrs. Smith-type murders in the fifth season. It’s what the fans deserve.

You season four part 2 drops on March 9th on Netflix.

Teens were challenged to dial a number on a rotary phone in under 4 minutes. Could they do it?

The rotary phone was ubiquitous until the late ‘80s when they were replaced by push-button telephones. Then, at the turn of the millennium, those were rendered obsolete by smartphones. So anyone born in the late 1990s may have never encountered a rotary phone, even though they were in everyone’s houses for decades.

It’s been years since most people dialed a rotary phone, but that familiar mechanical swish sound that happens when dialing a number is still etched in everyone’s memory.

A video of a father, Kevin Bumstead, challenging two 17-year-olds (his son Jake and nephew Kyle) to dial a phone number on a rotary phone in 2019 is making the rounds again on social media. The original video debuted on Facebook and has received over 20 million views.

Bumstead gave the teens four minutes to try to dial a number. Could they do it?

Kyle was unsure how to approach the mysterious object. “What’s with all the holes?” he asked innocently. After numerous starts and stops, the cousins figured out how to dial the number. Did they make it on time? You’ll watch the video and see.

“I love how they lift the receiver up and put it back down to ‘reset’ it,” Robert Haskell commented on YouTube. “What I found most interesting is how the mom thought that the dial tone would be a clue to a teenager that has likely never heard one,” Giancarlo G added.

It’s fun to see the teens use their problem-solving skills to unlock the mystery of the rotary phone. But it’s also a reminder that time flies and every technological marvel that seems normal today will one day be obsolete.

Fox News Is Once Again Unable To Wriggle Out Of That Pesky $2.7 Billion Election Fraud Lawsuit

Fox News is not getting away with pushing Donald Trump’s “Big Lie” that easily. The conservative news juggernaut failed to convince an appeals court to dismiss Smartmatic’s $2.7 billion lawsuit against both the network and its hosts who accused the election software company of “rigging” the 2020 election in Joe Biden’s favor. The lawsuit claims Fox knowingly pushed Trump’s false conspiracy theory in an effort to retain its right-wing audience, and the appeals court found unanimous cause to allow the lawsuit to continue.

Via Reuters:

In a 5-0 decision, the Appellate Division in Manhattan said Smartmatic USA alleged in “detailed fashion” how Fox News and some anchors and guests “effectively endorsed and participated in (defamation) with reckless disregard for, or serious doubts about” whether the company engaged in election fraud.

Smartmatic had sought $2.7 billion in damages, saying Fox News knowingly lied about its technology and how it was used in order to boost ratings, and keep Trump supporters from defecting to the right-wing networks Newsmax and One America News.

Despite the ruling, attorneys for Fox News are confident they will prevail in court.

“There is nothing more newsworthy than covering the president of the United States and his lawyers making allegations of voter fraud,” Fox’s legal team said in a statement. “Freedom of the press is foundational to our democracy and must be protected, in addition to the damages claims being outrageous, unsupported, and not rooted in sound financial analysis.”

Keep in mind, this lawsuit is entirely separate from the legal action the network is also facing from Dominion Voting Systems. That software company is seeking $1.6 billion in damages from Fox, who also named Dominion in its promotion of Trump’s election fraud claims. To date, there has been no evidence that the 2020 election was rigged, so it should be interesting to see if Fox can get out of either suit without paying out the nose. So far, it’s not looking good.

Daniel Caesar Shares A Mysterious Trailer For His Upcoming Third Album, ‘Never Enough’

After dropping a pair of fire singles — the vulnerable “Do You Like Me?” and the brutal “Let Me Go” — Daniel Caesar has finally announced his third studio album. His new effort, Never Enough, is set to drop this spring.

Ahead of Never Enough, Caesar has dropped a trailer for the upcoming album. The trailer sees Caesar swinging upside down from a tree. A woman is then seen standing opposite him, as the trailer fades to his logo.

New music can be heard in the trailer as well. On the song, which seems to come from the album, Caesar sings, over a brooding, minimalistic beat, “In the nick of time, that’s when you appear / Girl I was lost, until you found me here / My head was low.”

In an interview with Complex last year, Caesar revealed that while this album isn’t collaboration-heavy, however, working with producer Dylan Wiggins has been an inspiration to his craft.

“If I wasn’t excited about music before — like if I had started to wane in my love for the artform — he definitely has re-inspired me and made me excited about things,” Caesar said.

Watch the trailer for Never Enough above.

Never Enough is out 4/7 via Republic. Pre-save it here.
