When Will ‘Outlander’ Season 7 Part 2 And The ‘Outlander: Blood Of My Blood’ Spin Off Premiere?

outlander-s7-2-01
Starz

Outlander devotees might not be thrilled that comparisons of the more frivolous Bridgerton exist, but both shows do qualify as historical fantasy in a sense. Additionally, Outlander is slightly behind the newer show’s move of putting a spin off (and a prequel at that) into rotation, but never fear because Outlander: Blood Of My Blood is on the horizon. Historical fiction enthusiasts will also take the flagship and prequel shows’ concurrent existence as welcome news after Serpent Queen‘s cancellation, but if you want to expand your TV horizons, Starz is currently hitting the mark with dark comedy Sweetpea and the always flush 50 Cent cinematic universe that will not quit.

Back to the item traveling historical romance business: the love affairs that spawned Claire Randall and Jamie Fraser, as well as their own continuing story, will be hitting Starz, so it’s time for a combined question.

When Will Outlander Season 7 Part 2 And The Outlander: Blood Of My Blood Spin Off Premiere?

The flagship series will return on November 22, more than a year after the first half of the seventh season aired. This batch of episodes will revolve around Claire, Jamie, and Young Ian returning to Jamie’s ancestral stomping grounds, only to realize that home will not be as welcoming as expected. From there, the wait for Season 8 will begin, and since filming has been ongoing, hopefully Starz will deliver after a reasonable interval.

The prequel series revolving around Claire and Jamie’s parents should debut in 2025. Presumably, this first season will air to completion before Outlander comes back for its final season, which will ideally not be split into two parts, although Starz hasn’t spoken on that note.

What is certain, however, is that those bodice-ripping vibes will not quit anytime soon, and the costume department works hard, y’all.

SNX: This Week’s Best Sneakers, Featuring The Jordan 1 Low OG Howard & More

SNX_pink(1024x450)
Uproxx

Welcome to SNX DLX, your weekly roundup of the best sneakers to hit the internet. This week we have a small drop list with a mix of new silhouettes and tried-and-true classics. On the classic front, expect new Dunk and Air Jordan 1 colorways, with the latter being the most hyped drop of the week. We won’t spoil the surprise, but the colorway is reminiscent of a certain HBCU.

Nike is also dropping a new colorway for the LD-1000 and considering that’s an old shoe that has just re-emerged from Nike’s vaults, we’re going to go ahead and consider that “new,” rather than tried and true!

Outside of Nike, New Balance is dropping a dark and moody take on the 1906A as well as a tech-focused futuristic runner, and Adidas is dropping the Climacool, a lightweight and breezy sneaker because the brand didn’t get the memo that Summer is over.

Leave it to Adidas to be slightly out of step with what the other brands are doing. Here are this week’s best sneaker drops and where to find them!

New Balance 1906A Black with Dark Silver Metallic

New Balance

Price: $169.99

It’s fall, and there is no better time of year to get all goth with your footwear. Enter the new Black and Dark Silver Metallic New Balance 1906A.

This sneaker features a black mesh upper with synthetic black overlays with muted silver details over a midsole equipped with NB’s ABZROB SBS heel tech and an N-ergy outsole for enhanced shock absorption. It’s not billed as a skate shoe, but it has all the tech needed to make it one, so if you’re a skater looking for some new kicks, this might be a worthwhile option.

The New Balance 1906 A Black with Dark Silver Metallic is out now for a retail price of $169.99. Pick up a pair at New Balance.

New Balance Fresh Foam X 1080v14

New Balance

Price: $164.99

New Balance’s most advanced runner is here! The Fresh Foam X 1080v14 features a lightweight triple jacquard mesh upper with enhanced breathability, an extra cushioned midsole, and a rocker profile build that helps guide heel-to-toe footwork. The sneaker is designed to have a propulsive feel and take a good pavement beating.

As of now, the sneaker is only available in women’s sizing.

The New Balance Fresh Foam x 1080v14 is set to drop on October 10th at 7:00 AM PST for a retail price of $164.99. Pick up a pair at New Balance.

Nike SB Dunk Low Pro Celestial Gold and Dark Team Red

Nike

Price: $125

Paris has a foothold — pun intended — on Nike this year. The brand’s latest Parisian-inspired sneaker is this Celestial Gold and Dark Team Red SB Dunk. The sneaker looks to Parisian cinema for inspiration with a colorway meant to evoke the curtain and elegant wall designs of some of the city’s oldest theaters.

The sneaker sports a leather upper with velvet accents, two sets of laces, and a lavish custom insole. It looks less like a shoe and more like a museum piece.

The Nike SB Dunk Low Pro Celestial Gold and Dark Team Red is set to drop on October 10th at 7:00 AM PST for a retail price of $125. Pick up a pair via the Nike SNKRS app or aftermarket sites like GOAT and Flight Club.

Nike LD-1000 SP University Gold and Safety Orange

Nike

Price: $100

A late ‘70s staple, the LD-1000 is one of Nike’s coolest looking runners from the era, and we’re glad the brand has finally taken the sneaker out of the archives. This week, the sneaker is getting a loud, attention-grabbing University Gold and Safety Orange colorway.

The LD-1000 sports a mixed synthetic and real leather upper with a classic waffle-tread sole, and textile details.

The Nike LD-1000 SP University Gold and Safety Orange is set to drop on October 11th at 7:00 AM PST for a retail price of $100. Pick up a pair via the Nike SNKRS app.

New Balance 9060 Shadow Grey

New Balance

Price: $149.99

The 9060 is one of our favorite New Balance silhouettes, so any week the sneaker gets a new colorway, we’re here for it. The Shadow Grey features a mesh and leather upper with a special midsole equipped with NB’s ABZROB and SBS cushioning and borrows the diamond outsole pattern from the 860 silhouette.

Usually, this sneaker’s hoof-like midsole stands out, but with this all-grey design, it manages to make an admittedly out-there design look a bit tamer and sleeker.

The New Balance 9060 Shadow Grey is set to drop on October 11th at 7:00 AM PST for a retail price of $149.99. Pick up a pair at New Balance or aftermarket sites like GOAT and Flight Club.

Adidas Climacool

Adidas

Price: $140

The Climacool is one of Adidas’ strangest silhouettes of the year. The sneaker features an airy synthetic upper that forms to the shape of your foot and offers a breezy, futuristic look. We just can’t figure out why the hell Adidas choose the fall to launch this shoe and not the summer, when it would’ve been more practical.

It’s a strange design, but we appreciate Adidas trying something different. If this had dropped during the Yeezy era, people would’ve rocked the Climacool without question.

The Adidas Climacool is set to drop on October 11th at 7:00 AM PST for a retail price of $140. Pick up a pair via the Adidas CONFIRMED app.

Air Jordan 1 Low OG Gym Red & Midnight Navy (Howard)

Nike

Price: $140

We’ve saved the best for last! Yes, at first glance, it’s just another Jordan 1, but this color combination is one of the best the sneaker has seen all year. The Gym Red & Midnight Navy, aka Howard, sports a premium full-grain leather upper draped in the Howard University colors of crimson, blue, and grey.

The Air Jordan 1 Low OG Gym Red & Midnight Navy (Howard) is set to drop on October 12th at 7:00 AM PST for a retail price of $140. Pick up a pair via the Nike SNKRS app or aftermarket sites liek GOAT and Flight Club.

What To Watch For In College Football, Week 7

dillon gabriel
Getty Image

The biggest week of the college football season thus far is upon us, as there are three matchups of top-20 teams and another that would’ve been had one team not lost to Minnesota last week. Conference play is in full swing, and while conference realignment has plenty of drawbacks and rightful criticisms, we can at least enjoy some of the elite matchups we now get thanks to the newly formed super conferences. Week 7 the start of a pretty incredible run of Saturdays, and the headliner is a No. 2 vs. No. 3 matchup in the Big Ten that should be an absolute dandy.

The Game Of The Year (Of The Week): No. 2 Ohio State vs. No. 3 Oregon (7:30 p.m. ET, NBC)

If this game is anything close to what we got out of Georgia and Alabama in our first top-5 matchup of the season, we are in for a treat in Eugene. This game is fascinating for a bunch of reasons, starting with the fact that neither of these teams has faced anyone even close to the caliber of opponent as they will on Saturday night. While both arrive here undefeated, Ohio State has been more impressive in mowing down lesser opposition. Jeremiah Smith looks the part after being touted as the best wide receiver prospect maybe ever. The defense is absolutely terrifying. And their running back tandem is as good as it gets in the nation. The one question lingering out there has been about quarterback Will Howard and whether he’s dynamic enough as a passer to take full advantage of Smith, Emeka Egbuka, and the very talented OSU receiving corps against elite pass defenses. Last week’s performance against Iowa (which took a bit to get going but became a second half onslaught) was a really good start to quieting any concerns. If he can do something similar to Oregon on the road, the Buckeyes will cement their spot as a (perhaps THE) title favorite.

On the other side, Oregon is 5-0 but it hasn’t exactly been smooth sailing to this point. They opened the season in a dog fight with Idaho and followed it up by narrowly escaping a shootout with Boise State. In fairness, no one has tackled Ashton Jeanty all season, so that Boise performance looks more understandable the further we go along. They took care of business in the Civil War, thumping Oregon State, and cruised to a win over Michigan State (albeit, with some concerning turnovers). With Ohio State coming to town, Oregon is going to need to play a more complete and clean game than they have all season. Dillon Gabriel and the offense have taken some time to get on track, and he is going to have to be on his A-game for the Ducks to get this win. They have been boom or bust offensively, but given the way this Ohio State offense can wear on you, they need to find ways to sustain drives in order to keep their defense from tiring out. On defense, they will probably want to go back to that Boise tape and figure out what they messed up against the run, because you can bet the Buckeyes will be taking a close look at that and trying to find ways to exploit the Ducks on the ground.

All that said, the Ducks at home are no joke and Ohio State has not faced a real stiff test this season, much less a road atmosphere like Eugene. How they respond and their ability to execute in a hostile environment against the best athletes they’ve seen will be very interesting to watch.

Lock Into This One: No. 9 Ole Miss vs. No. 13 LSU (7:30 p.m. ET, ABC)

This game is about as close as we’ll get this early in the season to a Playoff eliminator matchup. At the very least, a loss here means each team will have to be near-perfect after both suffered early losses to teams that aren’t in the playoff picture currently (LSU to USC, which just lost to Minnesota, and Ole Miss to Kentucky). That adds even more juice to a game that figures to be a lot of fun. Prior to the season, a shootout in Baton Rouge was expected, and we still may get that but Ole Miss’ offense has looked stuck in second for two straight weeks. Last week they leaned on their defense to smother South Carolina and their loss to Kentucky was a low-scoring affair as well. LSU, meanwhile, just wants to put up points in bunches and try to outscore you, because the defense remains a question, they just haven’t faced anyone since USC that could exploit that enough. If LSU can put up 34+ on this Rebels defense, that’ll be quite the statement, while Ole Miss will be looking at the Tigers as a chance to get back on track when it comes to creating explosive plays.

Under-The-Radar Banger: Arizona vs. No. 14 BYU (4:00 p.m. ET, FOX)

The Big 12 has been absolutely wild this year, as there are some big surprises at the top of the standings early on, with Texas Tech leading the way at 3-0 in conference play and 5-1 on the season. Arizona fell victim to the Red Raiders last week and now the Wildcats head on the road to Provo to take on the second-highest ranked team in the conference, No. 14 BYU. The Cougars were not even on the board before the season as a Big 12 contender, finishing 13th in the Big 12 preseason poll, but they’ve gone 5-0 to start their season with a particularly impressive win over Kansas State a couple weeks ago. Arizona hasn’t been able to put it all together early in the season, but their offense led by Noah Fifita and Tetairoa McMillan has big play potential at all times. They could be the biggest test this Cougars team has faced so far, and this has a chance to be a very fun midday game.

Message Board Meltdown Game Of The Week: No. 4 Penn State vs. USC (3:30 p.m. ET, CBS)

Sadly, as a Nittany Lion, I must admit that my people are on Message Board Meltdown™ watch this week. Penn State is a better team than USC, but this would add fuel to the “James Franklin can’t win big games” fire that envelops all of my fellow Penn Staters after every single loss, particularly since USC is coming off of a loss to Minnesota. But Penn State aren’t the only ones on meltdown watch, because while the Trojans clearly were gonna take a step back this year, I’m very interested in what the vibe would be around Lincoln Riley if they fall to 3-3 with back-to-back losses (and three losses in four games) on the heels of an 8-5 season, particularly if their offense can’t put up big numbers.

Who Won The Heisman Last Week?: Diego Pavia, QB, Vanderbilt

On one hand, the answer is Ashton Jeanty again, because went for 13-186-3 and got the second half off as Boise State beat Utah State by 32. But you know what? Diego Pavia absolutely kicks ass, he’s a little guy who transferred up and has radioactive levels of Dog In Him. He (and the ‘Dores) came awfully close to knocking off Mizzou in double overtime a few weeks back, and on Saturday, he put up nice numbers (16-for-20, 252 yards, two touchdowns, 20 carries, 56 yards) to stun Alabama, 40-35. Salute to you, Diego Pavia.

Best Bet (2-3): Vanderbilt (+13.5) at Kentucky (7:45 p.m. ET, SEC Network)

Look, I get it. This is the letdown spot of all letdown spots for a Vandy team that just beat a No. 1 opponent for the first time in program history. However, as Bill noted in the section above, Diego Pavia has a crazy amount of Dog In Him and I buy Vandy as just being a competitive team, week in and week out in the SEC this year. So far, they have yet to play in a game against any FBS opponent that has that hasn’t finished as a one score game, win or lose. I think that can continue against a Kentucky team that plays about as slow as anyone in the country. The Cats know what they want to do, which is limit possessions, run the ball, and lean on their very good defense. With the makeup of this roster, that’s the right thing to do, but that also isn’t typically the formula for covering two touchdown spreads. I like the ‘Dores to avoid a total letdown and keep this thing fairly close in Lexington.

Will There Be A ‘Bad Monkey’ Season 2 On Apple TV+?

bad-monkey-lg
Apple TV+

Apple TV+’s near future includes doubling down on sci-fi series and soapy legal dramas, but never forget that this is also the home of Ted Lasso, co-created by Bill Lawrence. He has brought the world Vince Vaughn in Bad Monkey, which recently aired a first season finale that bought its ex-detective protagonist semi-full circle by putting him back on the food inspection beat. The episode also left several threads open, which is naturally causing devoted Carl Hiaasen fans to wonder whether a sophomore effort is in the cards.

Is Bad Monkey Renewed For Season 2 On Apple TV+?

The short answer? Not yet.

Between the lines? Hang tight.

Carl Hiaasen’s Razor Girl followup novel means that there’s handy source material ready to roll for second season inspiration. And even if that book didn’t exist (looking at you, Big Little Lies), this wouldn’t be an obstacle. Additionally, series creator Bill Lawrence spoke with Decider and revealed that his plan has been for three seasons, but they still need the Apple TV+ green light to proceed with more:

“Vince and I went into this when we sold to Apple saying we’d love to do three. We have a three-season arc in our head, the next book, Razor Girl, we own it. And Carl’s such a good writer. I don’t think he’s — rarely if ever — written sequels to his novels where that character stayed alive. So the only thing that makes me nervous is if we do three seasons, that means I have to make up one on my own. And Carl, he’s a high bar, man.”

So there you have it. There will probably be a second season due to high viewership and necessary parties being on board, but it’s now in Apple TV+ hands to make that decision.

50 Cent Has Filed A $5 Million Trademark Infringement Lawsuit Against Popular Jeweler TraxNYC Over ‘Knock-Off’ Chains

After snatching several major wins in court and dodging other cases, 50 Cent has seemingly become music’s “Teflon Don.” Now, the “In Da Club” rapper is putting his legal streak on the line. Yesterday (October 10), 50 Cent (real name Curtis Jackson) reportedly filed a new lawsuit.

According to TMZ, 50 Cent is suing TraxNYC (real name Maksud Trax Agadjani), a popular jeweler, for trademark infringement and violating his right of publicity. The suit, which could cost TraxNYC up to $5 million, isn’t about a purchase made by 50 Cent, but what the business owner is accused of doing to sell his glitzy inventory.

In the filing, 50 Cent alleged that Agadjani used his likeness to sell “knock-off” chains with pendants eerily similar to his famous cross piece. “Mr. Jackson takes the unauthorized use of his name and likeness for commercial purposes seriously,” said a representative for 50 Cent in a statement.

Across Agadjani’s Instagram page, he shared photos with 50 Cent and in other uploads tagging him, which the mogul’s legal team argued could lead potential patrons to assume he was connected to the brand.

In multiple posts, 50 Cent called out Agadjani. “Every now and then someone does something like this,” he wrote. “I don’t know why, but I do know I’m a need that by Monday.”

Then 50 Cent doubled down, writing: “This fool took my custom piece copied it, then posted this 7 hours ago using my likeness to sell them. He must don’t know how this works, if he talks to a lawyer they would tell him this is not good.”

Since the filing, Agadjani has attempted to make amends with 50 Cent. In a video uploaded to his Instagram page, he pleaded for 50 Cent to drop the suit. “Yo, 50, a cross is meant for forgiveness, redemption, forgiveness of sins,” he said. “Forgive, forget, let it go, brother.”

However, 50 Cent brushed it off, writing: “Let me think about it. Nah, you tried to play with me! You know the vibes by Monday.”

Lil Durk And Hunxho Cherish Somebody Special With Their Smooth New Collab ‘Late Checkout’

Last week saw Lil Durk announced Deep Thoughts, a new album that follows his 2023 LP Almost Healed. He shared the news alongside the new song “Monitoring Me,” and now he’s back with another. This time, he teams up with Hunxho on “Late Checkout.”

The tune sees Durk infatuated as he raps, “It ain’t nothin’ like the first day I put my lips on you / It ain’t nothin’ like the first date you let me kiss on you / Missionary is gettin’ scary when I lick on you / Strict the first night ’cause I tried to put the dick on you.”

Hunxho expresses a similar sentiment in his verse: “Oh, Lord, why it feel like I already know her? / Why it feel like she been ’round before I blowed up? / And I don’t fuck with n****s at all / So it’s like every time you roll up the only time I show love.”

This comes after Durk popped up on Hood Poet, the latest album from Polo G, this summer. Hunxho, meanwhile, embarked on The One Night Only Tour this past summer, which spanned from May to June.

Scooter Braun Is Pleading With Swifties To ‘Move On’ From His Bad Blood With Taylor Swift

Scooter Braun has retired from music management, but Swifties aren’t ready to forgive him for acquiring the rights to Taylor Swift‘s first six studio records and later selling the masters. And he’s still hearing about it from them.

During a Bloomberg Screentime event in Los Angeles this week, Braun said, “Look. It’s five years later. I think, everyone, it’s time to move on.”

Braun watched the Taylor Swift Vs. Scooter Braun: Bad Blood documentary and has some issues with it, and with the way he’s presented in the media overall. “There were a lot of things that were misrepresented. I think that it’s important in any kind of conflict that people actually communicate directly with each other,” he said. “I think doing it out on social media and in front of the whole world is not the place. And I think when people actually take the time to stand in front of each other have a conversation, they usually find out the monster’s not real, and that hasn’t happened. And that has not happened.”

The joke he made about not being invited to a party thrown by Swift probably didn’t help things.

Swift previously acknowledged “the Scooter thing” in an interview with Time. “My masters were being sold to someone who actively wanted them for nefarious reasons, in my opinion,” she said. “I was so knocked on my ass by the sale of my music, and to whom it was sold. I was like, oh, they got me beat now. This is it. I don’t know what to do.” The answer: Taylor’s Version.

GloRilla And Megan Thee Stallion Link Up Once Again On The In-Your-Face ‘How I Look’

GloRilla’s hotly anticipated new album Glorious is out today (October 11), and the project sees her teaming up with buddy Megan Thee Stallion on “How I Look.” The hard-hitting track sees the two continuing to foster the collaborative energy they established on “Wanna Be” earlier this year.

Last month, Glo and Megan expressed interest in making a joint album. In an interview, Meg said, “I think that would be very fire. I ain’t gon’ say too much, but it feels like it’s going to get done.” Glo added, “Megan is a real rapper, and I’m also a real rapper. We actually be talking and coming with bars on some down South gangsta sh*t. [It would be] some down South, real turnt, real rap [sh*t].”

This comes after GloRilla admitting she wasn’t sure about Megan when they first met, saying, “I first met you at your Hottieween party last year, and I ain’t gonna lie, I was kinda shy. You were just acting like you weren’t drinking that night. I was like… in my head, I’m like, ‘This b*tch ain’t acting like she ain’t drinking,’ like, ‘What’s up with this b*tch?’”

Tyla Adds Three New Songs To Her Self-Titled Debut Album, Including The Yearning ‘Push 2 Start’

Seven months from the release of her breakout self-titled debut album, Tyla has delivered on her promise of an expanded deluxe edition with three new songs to extend the Afrobeats party offered on the original.

The one currently drawing the most attention is the yearning “Push 2 Start,” which you can play above. With production from Ari PenSmith, Mocha Bands, Rayo, and Sammy Soso, the songs finds the South African siren imploring the object of her affection to “tell me where we goin’, pick a destination / Gas me up, give me motivation.”

Meanwhile, on “Back To You,” Tyla relaxes into a laid-back R&B vibe, promising a lover, “But every time, I’ll always come back to you / No matter where you go, no matter what you do.” You can check it out below.

Finally, “Shake Ah” returns to the native Amapiano sounds the Johannesburg native grew up on, with appearances from fellow SA performers Ez Maestro, Optimist Music ZA, and Tony Duardo, who join her in reciting the lyrics in Zulu, one of the 12 official languages of South Africa out of the thirty-five languages spoken in the country. Tyla is, of course, of partial Zulu ancestry, along with Indian, Irish, and Mauritian descent.
