Justin Bieber Has Postponed All Upcoming Tour Dates As The Coronavirus Pandemic Continues

When Justin Bieber kicked off the Changes era, part of that was announcing a tour in support of the then-upcoming album. A lot has changed in the world since then, and the coronavirus pandemic has forced most artists to cancel or postpone live shows. Now Bieber has done the same, as he announced today that all of his upcoming Changes tour dates have been postponed.

An official statement reads:

“In light of the current public health crisis, and with the deepest concern for all those being affected, Justin Bieber will be postponing all currently scheduled 2020 dates for The Changes Tour. While Justin — along with his band, dancers and crew — has been hard at work preparing an amazing show, he has always put the health and well-being of his fans first and foremost. Justin is anxiously awaiting the opportunity to get back out on the road and perform in a space that is safe for everyone. He asks that his fans hold on to their tickets, as they will be honored as soon as the dates are rescheduled. Information on rescheduled dates will be forthcoming soon.”

The 45-date tour was originally set to kick off on May 14 in Seattle and wrap up in New Jersey on September 26. Currently, there is no word on when the rescheduled shows will be.

Changes is out now via Def Jam. Get it here.

Donald Faison Has Revealed The Mortifying Reason Why He Had To Wear Braces On ‘Clueless’

One of the few bright spots in the otherwise tumultuous time we are in has been the number of projects that otherwise bored celebrities have started in order to fill their own time and kill time for us. John Krasinski, for instance, started a cute video show devoted to good news, and he had his The Office co-star Steve Carell on his first episode. Chrissy Teigen has been settling other people’s disputes on Twitter, Reply/All is doing weekly podcasts at the moment, and Courteney Cox and her daughter are now making TikTok videos.

The project I have been most excited about, so far, however, is the Scrubs rewatch podcast that Donald Faison and Zach Braff launched this week called Fake Doctors, Real Friends. Scrubs is my all-time favorite sitcom, and we here at Uproxx are enormous fans of the series. We even appreciate the inadvertent PSA on social distancing from a heartbreaking episode of Scrubs that went viral last week.

In this week’s first episode of Fake Doctors, Real Friends, Zach Braff and Donald Faison cover the pilot, their audition stories, Braff’s huge crush on Sarah Chalke, and how otherwise fond they are of the entire cast. There were also a couple of interesting facts, like that Sam Llloyd (who played Ted) is the nephew of Christopher Lloyd of Back to the Future fame and that Matt Winston (who played Dr. Jeffrey Steadman in the pilot and a couple of other episodes before being phased out) is the son of the famous special-effects wizard, Stan Winston. (Sam Lloyd, by the way, has been battling brain cancer).

Maybe the most interesting thing we learned from the first episode of the Scrubs podcast, however, is why Donald Faison had to wear braces on Clueless. It comes up, actually, because Donald Faison’s teeth are different in early episodes of Scrubs than they are in later episodes. Why?

“I had baby teeth when we started shooting,” Faison says, exasperatingly, because Braff is making him talk about it. “I don’t have baby teeth anymore. I spent a lot of money on new teeth. There it is. That’s the story.”

Braff then teases him about the evolution of his teeth, starting with the fake braces he wore on Clueless.

“Yes,” Faison says. “Because they were trying to hide my small teeth!” Not only that, Faison continues, but there was a reason he also wore hats so much in that movie. “They shaved my head in Clueless,” Faison says, “because my hair was receding at 18.” Because of his early receding hairline, he said, his friends called him George Jefferson.

“But I never knew,” Braff says, “that your braces in Clueless were because of your f**ked-up Chiclet teeth!”

“Yes, and then the hats that I wore in Clueless were because of my hairline.”

This story will apparently lead to another story later on in the podcast series, about the time that Faison decided — on his own — to get braces on the back of his teeth, and there were apparently a stretch of episodes of Scrubs where he spoke with a lisp because of it.

One episode in, and this podcast is already amazing.

Lisa Frank Has Heard Those ‘Tiger King’ Comparisons, And She Has A Colorful Response

If you are one of the several million people who’ve streamed Netfix’s Tiger King, you’re well aware of Joe Exotic’s colorful manner of dressing. Even if you haven’t watched, this image from the docuseries ^^^ will make you realize that Joe Exotic kinda looks like a Lisa Frank drawing come to life. Well, Lisa Frank is aware of these comparisons, and she’s responding with a little something. Payback, maybe? No, that’s too harsh. This is more like the best present on Christmas morning.

Frank posted this image to her Instagram page, and while it’s very clearly based upon her trademarked artwork and characters, she does credit the fan artist (arielhart.gif) who brought this vision to reality. “The internet gets what the internet wants!” Frank wrote. “If you can’t laugh at yourself, what’s the point!”

Here’s the original fan art posting as well.

Soon enough, someone’s gonna slap this image on a notebook or make stickers. If Joe Exotic gets a whiff of this, he’ll be thrilled, since he’s enjoying his newfound amplified notoriety from afar (behind bars), where he’s set to remain for decades. However, the people will certainly see more on convicted murder-for-hire felon Joseph Maldonado-Passage in the future, given that Kate McKinnon will star (as Carole Baskin) in a scripted TV series about the wild world of big cat people. And actors are already lining up for the dream role of Joe Exotic. 2020, we truly weren’t ready for you, in so many ways.

Here’s Your First Look At ‘Prodigy,’ USWNT Star Megan Rapinoe’s New Quibi Show

Quibi’s launch is just around the corner, as the Jeffrey Katzenberg-backed mobile stream app is slated to hit phones on April 6. Last week, we gave you a glimpse into one of its sports-related shows, Iron Sharpens Iron, which is backed by NFL free agent signal caller Cam Newton and features two athletes from different sports discussing training regiments on each episode.

Staying in the world of sports, USWNT star and two-time World Cup winner Megan Rapinoe is also behind a Quibi program. Titled Prodigy, Rapinoe serves as the host of the show, which seeks to identify some of the top young talent in the world in a number of sports. Uproxx Sports has your first look at the show thanks to a trailer that dropped on Wednesday.

While Rapinoe is one of the best soccer players in the world, Prodigy only features one other footballer: USMNT and Red Bull Leipzig midfielder Tyler Adams. As for the rest of the talent in the program, you’ll get the chance to see top high school basketball recruit Jalen Green, NCAA track and field star Sha’Carri Richardson, prodigious snowboarder Red Gerard, world champion swimmer Regan Smith, up-and-coming superstar sprinter Matthew Bowling, No. 1 high school football recruit Korey Foreman, and U.S. junior national team boxer Chantel Navarro.

All of these athletes are still quite young — Adams, at 21, is the oldest of the group — but each of them are on track to become household names sooner rather than later.

Cardi B’s Coronavirus Posts Made Up Half Of Instagram’s Top 10 Videos For March

During the coronavirus pandemic, Cardi B has been one of the most vocal celebrities. One of her Instagram videos about the situation was even remixed into a successful song. It turns out that when it comes to Instagram videos, Cardi had a huge March, as she had the most-viewed videos on the platform last month, and five of the top ten.

Citing data from Pex (a video and music analytics and rights-management firm based in Los Angeles), Variety notes that Cardi’s aforementioned song-spawning video was the most-viewed Instagram video of the month (through March 30) thanks to its 27.8 million views. The four other Cardi videos about the coronavirus in the top ten all had at least 17 million views, and in total, her five top-ten videos have been watched about 110 million times.

Aside from her most-viewed video, Cardi’s videos that made the top ten feature her knocking over a tower of Jenga blocks, laughing at Donald Trump elbow-bumping a CEO during a press conference, criticizing the government’s response to the pandemic, and being amused at one of her videos being included in a Chinese TV news report.

Live Nation Launches A $10M Coronavirus Relief Fund To Support Concert Crews

According to Billboard events promoter and venue operator Live Nation has launched a fund to help support concert crews that cannot work during the coronavirus crisis. The epidemic forced the postponement or cancelation of many major events such as SXSW and Coachella, leaving the crews who usually do the behind-the-scenes work — stage building, sound engineering, effects teams, and so on — without a paycheck for the duration of the state and federally-mandated “stay-at-home” orders. Live Nation has committed $10 million to its Crew Nation fund, with $5 million in direct support and another $5 million to match contributions by artists, fans, and employees dollar-for-dollar.

In a statement, the company explained the necessity of the Crew Nation fund, writing, “Crew members are the backbone of the live music industry, and we hope you’ll join us in supporting them through this temporary intermission until we can once again unite millions around the world through the power of live music.” A quote from Live Nation president and CEO Michael Rapino on Instagram reads: “”Concerts wouldn’t be possible without the crew working behind the scenes to bring them to life. To help out live music crews while concerts are on pause, LiveNation has committed $10 million to the #CrewNation.” Rapino will be personally donating $250,000.

Anyone who’d like to contribute to the fund can do so here with a PayPal account or purchase exclusive Crew Nation merchandise, with proceeds going to the fund, here.
