Here’s what we know about Stranger Things season 5: it’s the final season, and it’s premiering in 2025. Here’s what we don’t know: almost everything else, including the exact premiere date. But fans of the Netflix series think they figured out.

“I know when [season] 5 will release!” user “lol123456789pp” wrote on the Stranger Things subreddit. They were gifted an officially licensed 2025 calendar for Christmas and noticed that “some dates are titled with the word stranger things.” They are: May 14, July 6, October 11, and December 28.

Those seemingly arbitrary dates don’t appear to have any in-universe significance (unlike November 6, the day when Will Byers went missing, a.k.a. Stranger Things Day), so many fans are theorizing Netflix is planning a teaser for May 14, a trailer for July 6, and the season will be split into two volumes, released on October 11 and December 28. That could make sense since filming just wrapped, and there’s months of post-production work to come.

However, October 11 and December 28 are a Saturday and Sunday, respectively, and Netflix doesn’t typically release shows over the weekend. Also, as a Reddit user pointed out: “I had a Stranger Things calendar before season 3 came out and it also had ‘Stranger Things’ marked days like that scattered throughout, and unfortunately none of them meant anything.”

Maybe these dates mean something (May 14 is George Lucas’ birthday!), but more likely, they were picked at random. A stronger bet is the final episodes dropping on or around Stranger Things Day 2025, a Thursday.

Early this month, two people were charged in the October death of Liam Payne; today, three more people were reported charged, with the charge revealed as manslaughter for all five. According to Billboard, Argentina‘s National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office issued a public notice, naming CasaSur Palermo Hotel manager Gilda Martin, receptionist Esteban Grassi, and Payne’s friend Roger Nores, with hotel employee Ezequiel Pereyra and waiter Braian Paiz also charged with supplying drugs. Judge Laura Bruniard determined that there is sufficient evidence for a trial; the accused’s attorneys can appeal the decision, but the next step should their appeal fail will be a criminal trial.

Bruniard’s explanation was quoted in the court transcript, “Payne’s consciousness was altered and there was a balcony in the room. The proper thing to do was to leave him in a safe place and with company until a doctor arrived. The people responsible at the hotel that day were the manager GAM and the head of reception ERG.” Acknowledging the accidental nature of Payne’s death, he elaborated, “They were imprudent in allowing him to be taken to the room and taking him there, respectively. They created a legally disapproved risk and Payne’s death is the concretization of that risk.”

Payne died on October 16, after a fall from the hotel’s third story balcony; he was under the influence of alcohol, cocaine and prescription antidepressants at the time, according to toxicology reports. Reception placed two emergency calls, including concerns a guest’s life might be in danger. However, according to court documents, the hotel’s manager and head receptionist only ordered employees to take Payne back to his room. Payne’s friend Roger Nores is accused of neglecting his duty of care, a legal obligation to act reasonably and with prudence to avoid harming others.

Cardi B lives in Atlanta these days, but she’d prefer not to.

On X (formerly Twitter), an account that shares photos of fancy homes posted a photo of a mansion that turned out to be Cardi’s, writing, “Dream mansion.” Cardi shared the post and wrote, “My casa [heart emoji]…..I don’t want it nomore tho.” Somebody asked why and Cardi responded, “I don’t like living in Atlanta ….i actually don’t like living nowhere else but NY.”

Somebody else asked for her thoughts on Miami and Cardi replied, “After 2 weeks in Miami I be ready to go back home.”

She has deep love for NYC, as she demonstrated by speaking out when she saw the city potentially heading town a bad road. Speaking about some proposed NYC budget cuts in November 2023, Cardi said, “I’m an angry b*tch right now… I need y’all to spread this video, and if something happens to me, it’s because I’m speaking the truth. In New York, there is a $120 million budget cut that’s going to affect schools, public libraries, and the police department. And a $5 million budget cut in sanitation. B*tch, we are gonna be drowning in f*cking rats. I’m lucky. I’m blessed. I’m whatever the f*ck, but what’s going to happen to my nieces? What’s going to happen to nephews? What’s going to happen to my cousins, aunts, and my friends?”

Just ahead of the holiday, SZA told fans she planned to “add stuff” to the deluxe version of her fan-favorite album, SOS Deluxe: Lana, but unfortunately for those fans, delivery of her Christmas gift was delayed. SZA issued an update on the expected changes to the album, writing on Twitter that the new songs and mixes should be available on January 6, “when the label comes back from holiday.” She also thanked fans for their patience.

She has plenty more to thank them for, though; the deluxe version of SOS, subtitled Lana, was streamed and purchased right to the top of the Billboard 200 chart dated January 4, so she’s got the first No. 1 album of 2025. According to Billboard, even if Lana‘s 15 tracks had been released as a standalone album, it still would have gone to the top of the chart, but as it stands, this adds a whopping 11th week to SOS‘ chart-topping run, albeit for non-consecutive weeks.

Despite Lana only just arriving, SZA’s insatiable fans are already clamoring for more — namely, a full project of collaborations with former labelmate Kendrick Lamar. The ever-cheeky singer saw the requests and reposted them to her socials, suggesting that even if a full project isn’t necessarily in the works, fans might be able to expect more music from the dynamic duo.

Public Enemy member and part-time reality TV Lothario Flavor Flav is very well known for his trademark clock pendant, so much so that he even gifted an Olympic athlete with one after her medal was rescinded due to Olympic Committee shenanigans. But in a new interview with Rolling Stone, he reveals just how deep the commitment to the bit really goes — six feet deep, to be exact.

“I might request that on top of my coffin is a built-in clock,” he predicted. “And then also when you open up the lid, there’s a big clock… Yeah, and on the tombstone, it should be a clock.” When asked for the epitaph that should adorn said tombstone, he joked, “‘It’s about time.’”

Elsewhere in the interview, Flav is asked about his clock collection, boasting that his “most extravagant” clock is “a cuckoo clock that was made for me in Switzerland [around 1988]. It’s the shape of a house, and on the bottom of it has a man on a spring, which was the pendulum. When the spring bounces up and down, there’s a little Flav that comes out at the top that says, ‘Yeah, boy. Yeah, boy. Yeah, boy.’ That’s three o’clock.” And yes, it does deliver his signature catchphrase 11 times at 11 o’clock.

The whole interview is a pretty good read, with Flav addressing his non-beef with bandmate Chuck D, his many meetings with fellow celebrities, and some of his misadventures as a self-professed “adrenaline junkie.”

Back in 2020, Chloe X Halle released Ungodly Hour, their final album as a duo. The final year, the group announced their official split. Since then, the siblings Uproxx cover star Chlöe and Halle Bailey have had success solo careers.

However, their recent performance at the 2024 Fashion Awards seems to have sparked a creative fever between the sisters. In an interview with People, Chlöe hinted that Chloe X Halle could hit the studio for a whole new album.

“I know [Halle] has a lot going on,” she said. “I’m so proud and excited for her, so I cannot wait for us to finally piece together the body of work we’ve been talking about for so long. At the Fashion Awards, we were able to perform together again. It felt so special… and I can’t wait to do that again with another album.”

While supporters could be blowing Chlöe’s remarks out of proportion that hasn’t stopped fans pages from running with the narrative. Since Chloe X Halle’s split, Chlöe released two full length albums, including 2023’s In Pieces and 2024’s Trouble In Paradise.

Contrarily, Halle focused her sights on acting, starring in The Little Mermaid live-action adaptation, The Color Purple movie musical, and more. In between those pictures, Halle dropped a handful of singles including “Angel,” “Because I Love You,” and “In Your Hands.”

The idea of a new Chloe X Halle album has supporters online jumping for joy.

Many consider Eminem to be one of the greatest emcees to ever touch a microphone. Hell, even the “Lose Yourself” rapper named himself the ‘Rap God.’ But a recent post online showed Eminem does not mind giving others their props.

Yesterday (December 28), Eminem gave his X (formerly Twitter) followers a peek at his top tier rappers list. “One of my all-time favorite rappers … man I been waiting for this @therealredman,” he wrote.

While users online considered the upload as a random shoutout, Redman supporters quickly tied it back to the release of his latest album, Muddy Waters Too.

On the project’s song, “Dynomite” featuring Sheek Louch, Redman gave Eminem a similar show of respect. “Brick City militant / J Dilla diligent / Blackin’ out like Eminem / These kids love my riddle, and I’m back,” he rapped.

Eminem wasn’t the only legend to shout out the body of work. In a video on Instagram (viewable here courtesy of HipHopDX), Snoop Dogg praised Muddy Waters Too.

“Redman new album, f*cking hot,” he said. “‘Missionary,’ f*cking hot. OG’s standing up right now.”

Jack Harlow’s special No Place Like Home 2024 holiday concert was supposed to be about musical exploration. But when the “Hello Miss Johnson” rapper performed a cover of Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help But Falling In Love” backed by The Louisville Orchestra, users online were not having it.

Immediately after former fans accused Harlow of being a culture vulture and claimed he would soon abandon the genre. Today (December 29), Harlow has responded to the viral backlash with his new single, “Tranquility.”

On the track, produced by Hollywood Cole, Harlow shut down the criticism rapping, “Y’all boys lame sh*t killing me / Need to be reintroduced to humility / I ain’t lookin for no hip-hop credibility / Give a f*ck who feelin me, I’m feelin me / I’m really him, I’m really that remedy / Himothy Chalamet, pretty girls salivate / On the low, off the grid, in the cut, out the way / My prime’s in full swing like a Calaway.”

Later in the song, Harlow countered the culture vulture comments by referencing his investment into it. Near the end of the record, Harlow claimed to have taken a financial loss on his inaugural Gazebo Festival, but intends to keep going. “People that betrayed me don’t even f*ckin know that I know / It’s something that I just file away / Lost a few m’s on the festival / Okay, and I can’t wait to do the second one,” he raps.

Uproxx cover star Paramore had a rather eventful year. Despite a few canceled festival appearances, the “Thick Skull” musicians spent a significant time on the road. With Paramore’s time on Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour done, frontwoman Hayley Williams could be gearing up for some solo shows next years.

While celebrating her birthday, Williams hinted at her 2025 solo tour plans in an Instagram stories. In the post (viewable here courtesy of Stereogum) teased that she is working a string of shows.

“I’m going to try and finally play some shows next year that would’ve happened nearly 5 years ago now,” she wrote. “That is, if the world doesn’t f*cking stop before then. Here’s hoping.”

The latter end of Williams’ statement subtly referred to her 2020 solo tour schedule. During the height of the pandemic, Williams released her long awaited debut solo studio album, Petals for Armor. Like all other artists, due to public safety concerns Williams’ supporting tour was interrupted.

Since then Williams recounted with Paramore, which wrapped up the singer up in an abundance of professional obligations. These commitments included Paramore’s This Is Why album, listening parties for fans, televised performances, its companion tour, and more.

Now, Williams can resume her solo ventures and fans are exciting to see what comes of it.

Drake is long since removed from his time on the small screen. However, the “No Face” rapper seems to be interested in returning to his television roots.

On December 26, Drake joined streamer Adin Ross for a special holiday stream. During the broadcast, Drake recreated the giving spirit seen throughout his 2018 “God’s Plan” music video. With Drake gifting lucky viewers with monetary and vehicle donations, the philanthropic efforts sparked a conversation about his throwback visual.

Drake went on to reveal that he once pitched a TV show in the same vein to Amazon’s founder Jeff Bezos. “You see what we’re doing tonight,” he said. This is a thing that I wanted to do ever since I shot that [‘God’s Plan’] video. I asked Jeff Bezos… The word I got back is that he didn’t want to do it. I want to do God’s Plan the TV show, ten episodes a year.”

While Drake didn’t disclose Bezos’ response, he went expend on his vision for the series. “I want to travel across the world,” he said. “I know there’s a lot of billionaires out there, people who have a lot of money, who don’t have a chance to put a face to their charitable actions.”

In the original video for “God’s Plan,” Drake walked around Miami, Florida distributing money to random people. It is rumored that Drake used the video’s budget ($996,631.90) as the funds gifted to residents. Given Drake’s net worth, fans believe he can fund the show with ease.
