The Scooby Gang from Only Murders In The Building put themselves in danger, but everything comes out in the comedic wash. Meanwhile, journalist David Farrier seems to have pulled an Only Murders by investigating a real-life, ongoing true crime story and catching the attention of the perpetrator. Things aren’t as funny for him.
The trailer for Mister Organ is a twisty path that demands we scream “don’t open that door” both literally and metaphorically dozens of times. In the documentary, the creator behind Dark Touristand the delightfully bizarre Tickled tracks down an extortionist who turns out to be a lot more dangerous than previously believed.
Here’s the official synopsis: “Journalist and filmmaker David Farrier unwittingly stumbles into a game of cat and mouse with a mystery man creating havoc in his neighborhood, wheel-clamping cars at a local antique store. That clamper was Michael Organ, and little did Farrier know that delving deeper into who Organ really is would be a thrilling and tension-filled three-year-long investigation — unearthing a trail of multiple court cases, inflated claims of royal bloodlines, ruined lives, and at least one stolen boat.”
The product of three years of investigation, Mister Organwill premiere at Fantastic Fest on September 24th. Hopefully, Farrier will explain during the press tour how he’s still alive.
There have been exactly eleventy billion adaptations of Romeo and Juliet, and the trailer for Rosaline proves that there is definitely room for one more. The movie — starring Kaitlyn Dever as Romeo’s scorned ex-girlfriend — looks like an absolute blast. Dever is clearly bringing her Book Smart energy to the irreverent retelling alongside some hints at thoroughly 1990s rom-com tropes. A guy helping her get her ex-boyfriend back? Check. Her getting close to Juliet to sabotage the relationship? Double check. Juliet poisoning herself to fake her own death?
Alright, so that’s not in My Best Friend’s Wedding. Fair enough.
Still, that “same pale hard-hearted wench, that Rosaline” is Juliet’s cousin (rethinking Romeo’s whole deal yet?), so it’s a fantastic idea to inject her into the most famous Western romantic tragedy of all time. Especially when she’s got a modern penchant for curse words and drinking.
Directed by Karen Maine (who wrote Obvious Child and wrote/directed Yes, God, Yes), Rosaline is based off the Rebecca Serle novel with a script from comedic titans Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber (Disaster Artist, 500 Days of Summer). It also stars Minnie Driver, Isabela Merced, and Bradley Whitford, who would have voted for King James I for a third term.
It hits Hulu October 14th, which gives everyone just enough time to scramble for Shakespearean Halloween costumes.
Trombone Champ was officially released to the world on Sept. 16, and in a few short days, it spread through word of mouth to become one of the top-selling games on Steam. Everyone wants to play one of the most hysterically funny games of the year. While it feels like a joke, trust us: it’s real and just as funny as the initial trailer makes it look.
As everyone discovered Trombone Champ, clips of it began spreading across the internet, as people wanted to share how funny the game is. It resulted in a series of absolutely incredible clips of people playing the game … that is until they add more songs and it gets even better. For now, let’s all get a little patriotic and stand for “The Star-Spangled Banner” and “O Canada.”
Such beautiful renditions fill me with the kind of patriotic pride that can only be conveyed through music. Of course, Trombone Champ does more than let you play anthems — you can also play classical music, or get in the holiday spirit with Christmas music via a virtual trombone.
I don’t think I have laughed this hard playing a game in years. Absolutely delightful, polished, excellent all-around and so funny it makes your face hurt. GOTY. Sorry, Elden Ring, looks like you should have added trombones after all. #TromboneChamppic.twitter.com/vza2YwploS
Trombone Champ wasn’t going to stop there. Have you ever wanted to hear circus music played poorly on a trombone, or maybe “William Tell Overture”? Then grab a glass of wine, sit down, and listen to a masterpiece at work.
If you do decide to get Trombone Champ and master every song, then don’t fret, because expert players will be able to make their own tracks through the game’s freestyle mode. Someone already brought in the coming of autumn with a rendition of “September” by Earth, Wind, & Fire, and then we got some hot TikTok memes to remind us all that anything is possible with a trombone in hand.
Pierce Brosnan is a man of many talents. The Irish actor played a hot potential stepdad who is allergic to pepper in Mrs. Doubtfire. He was the James Bond of the 1990s in GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough, and Die Another Day. In perhaps his most important role of all, Brosnan gave the world his gift of song as one of the potential dads in 2008’s Mamma Mia and 2018’sMamma Mia: Here We Go Again.
Despite playing James Bond for nearly a decade, Brosnan does not give a crap about James Bond, as evidenced by a recent interview in which he threw subtle shade at No Time to Die and literally said that he does not care who plays the Brit spy next. In the interview with GQ U.K., the actor, who is promoting his upcoming DC film Black Adam opposite The Rock, said this when asked who he thinks should play James Bond next:
“Who should do it? I don’t care,” Brosnan said. “It’ll be interesting to see who they get, who the man shall be. Whoever he be, I wish him well.”
In the article, the author noted that Brosnan said all this in a “tone that indicates it’s maybe not actually that interesting.” Personally, I am obsessed with Brosnan’s energy and hope to learn something from it.
Brosnan also shared his take on the Craig collection with some kind words about 2012’s Skyfall, but he did not have anything nice to say about last year’s No Time to Die, which marked the end of the Craig Bond saga by killing the character. “I saw the last one and I saw Skyfall. I love Skyfall,” Brosnan said. “I’m not too sure about the last one. Daniel always gives of his heart. Very courageous, very strong. But…”
In a separate video interview shared on GQ’s YouTube channel (and featured above), Brosnan said that he liked Craig’s performance in the franchise. “I have the greatest admiration for Daniel Craig and what he did. The physicality he brought to the performance was monumental.”
In July, Compton house producer Channel Tres dropped the sizzling dance floor track “Just Can’t Get Enough” and promised that his new album, Real Cutlrual Sh*t, would be out this fall. We’re in September and the release date still hasn’t been announced, but now we know why: Channel Tres just announced that he inked a deal with RCA Records in partnership with his existing label, Godmode. So it looks like Godmode and RCA will be putting out Real Cultural Sh*t jointly this year and while we await a release date, Channel Tres has blessed us with another heater in “No Limit.”
Propped up on a funky bass line, harmonic disco organ and infectious beat, Tres sings, “There’s no limit where this can go, there’s no limit where this can go.” Close your eyes for a second and imagine hearing that hook at a club and tell me you don’t think this is the type of song that’s going to draw people together?
Tres spoke about the meaning of “No Limit,” saying that it, “…was made about my time in New Orleans and about my memories of backyard BBQs my family used to have in Compton. It also speaks of breaking past limitations in life and with a love interest.” This one’s got the juice now.
Listen to “No Limit” above.
Real Cultural Sh*t is due out this fall via Godmode/RCA Records.
Gorillaz’s new album, Cracker Island, is coming out in 2023, so the North American tour that they’re currently on features mainly classic cuts from the group’s seven existing albums. Last night’s concert at the Chase Center in San Francisco featured a heavy dose of songs from albums like Demon Days, Gorillaz, and Plastic Beach, but also featured both new singles from Cracker Island in the title track, and “New Gold” featuring Tame Impala (who were not there) and Bootie Brown (who was indeed there.)
But at one point in the night, Damon Albarn fancied it was time to play a world premiere of a new song called “Skinny Ape.” Albarn addressed the Bay Area crowd explaining that “Skinny Ape” was inspired by, “A product of Silicon Valley… you know, those Amazon robots who deliver packages to you.” The song is seemingly written from the perspective of 2D — the singer of the Gorillaz virtual band — as animations of the slim-bodied singer were projected on the screen throughout the performance. The refrain juxtaposes 2D with an artificially intelligent robot as Albarn sings, “Don’t be sad for me, I’m a cartoon G. And my intent is to breathe in a new world, don’t be sad for me,” before a fast-paced chorus takes the song to new heights.
Listen to Damon Albarn and Gorillaz performing “Skinny Ape” for the first time ever in the video above.
Cracker Island is out on 2/24/2023 via Parlophone. Pre-save it here.
Gorillaz is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.
The Boston Celtics will have a new head coach for some period of time during the 2022-23 season, but as of now, the person he replaces is not expected to leave the team by his own volition. According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, Ime Udoka does not plan on resigning as the head coach of the team that he took to the NBA Finals during his first year at the helm. The news comes before the anticipated year-long suspension that he could receive for a violation of “organizational guidelines,” which reports indicate was “an improper intimate and consensual relationship with a female member of the team staff.”
Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka will not be resigning from his position as he awaits sanction from the organization, league sources tell @NBAonTNT.
The potential for a Udoka resignation was first mentioned by Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated, who reported that he was considering it as an option earlier in the day on Thursday.
Ime Udoka has considered the possibility of resigning, sources told @SInow. Internally, coaches and staff members are bracing for the likelihood that Udoka will be suspended for one year for having a relationship with a female staffer.
A little later, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN floated the possibility that, while Udoka’s coaching career won’t totally end, there’s “not necessarily a guarantee that he is back in this job after a year.”
“It’s not necessarily a guarantee that [Ime Udoka] is back in this job after a year… I don’t think the final chapter has been written on his head coaching career.”#NBATwitter#BleedGreenpic.twitter.com/sLuYs5OPok
Udoka had a lengthy playing career before retiring to join the staff of the San Antonio Spurs in 2012. His coaching career included stops in San Antonio, Philadelphia, and Brooklyn before the Celtics decided to make him their head coach in the lead-up to the 2021-22 campaign. While things got off to a rocky start, Boston eventually turned things around, finished the regular season as the 2-seed in the East with a 51-31 record, won the conference, and made it to the NBA Finals, where they were unable to topple the Golden State Warriors.
It’s really starting to look like it’s Yung Miami’s new mission in life to make every single one of her rap peers as uncomfortable as possible on Caresha Please. Unlike a Nardwuar, though, hip-hop’s new favorite interviewer doesn’t surprise her guests with the depth of her research so much as she puts them in the hot seat with her blunt, no-holds-barred question style. Somehow, she doesn’t come across as invasively as The Breakfast Club, or combatively like Ebro, but she doesn’t softball questions like Sway or other mainstream interview shows.
Instead, she does something all her own, pulling from Twitter conversations and gossip blog fodder but never accusing her guests or wrong-footing them. Check out how she gets Saweetie hot under the proverbial collar or shamelessly flirts with Megan Thee Stallion. You get the sense that these are homegirls hanging out, and while she tries to extract the tea, at heart, it’s just a conversation among peers in a cozy environment with the cameras rolling. Her latest victim is Latto, who’ll appear on this week’s episode. Sharing her usual preview clip, Miami jokes that the Atlanta rapper “wasn’t ready for the smoke,” despite her assertion in the trailer below.

But it doesn’t take you completely out of the real one. Gem Joy’s augmented reality technology is some of the most advanced on the market. It allows the real world and virtual world to collide with their tangible pieces that share mystical abilities through the eyes of the app. The pendant is pressable and scannable. You can use it to play games, or adventure into augmented reality stories by award-winning authors.
Once in the app, your Gem Joy acts as a remote control, a landing pad and a mystical beacon. Watch a hummingbird feed from a flower or channel your inner Targaryen and have a dragon breathe fire from your wrist!

Season two of the hit comedy Abbott Elementary returned last night with a cameo from everyone’s favorite fluffy orange monster, Gritty, kicking off the new season. The highly-anticipated new season will feature more episodes than season one and a handful of holiday episodes that will surely feature some amazing bits involving the quirky teaching staff.
But besides knowing the episode counts and titles, fans are unsure where the season will go. Are Janine and Gregory going to get together? Will Tariq come back? And what exactly is hiding in that Abbott basement? After the season premiere, fans flocked to Twitter to share their favorite moments and predictions ahead of the new episodes.
Of course, every Greggory/Janine fan noticed that there have been some subtle hints at the two’s budding friendship.
Finally got to watch Abbott & my thoughts: -great start for the season -Janine & Tariq no more? YES! Now make her & Gregory happen -I can’t with Ava, she’s a hot mess -the moments between Gregory & Barbara were lovely and I thought Sheryl & Tyler performed real well together
As for Tariq, a lot of fans seem to be leaning towards the idea that Janine’s hilarious yet flaky ex will turn into an Andy Dwyer-type character who gets his act together but develops separately from Janine. This theory was big on Reddit last season, and has slowly been taking over Twitter.

Rewatching last night’s episode. Did Tariq really strap an air mattress to the hood of the car? Instead of deflating it, folding it, and putting it in a box or bag in the car? #AbbottElementarypic.twitter.com/YdZrZ8Zp6k
Was rewatching Abbott Elementary last night and why I got a feeling Tariq and Ava gonna be a thing. We already know her and Janine got the same taste in men…. Looking at Gregory hard
Class is definitely back in session! Abbott Elementary airs on Wednesdays on ABC and Hulu.
