There’s a strong case to be made that John Wick: Chapter 4 is the best John Wick movie, and not just because of the staircase scene.

The Keanu Reeves-starring film introduced three awesome additions to the Wick-verse: Donnie Yen as blind assassin Caine, a pre-Shogun Hiroyuki Sanada as Osaka Continental Hotel manager Koji, and musician/actress Rina Sawayama as his daughter, Akira. The post-credits scene set up a confrontation between Caine and Akira, who aims to get her revenge over the death of her father. Will we ever see what happens next?

Possibly! Last year, John Wick producer Erica Lee teased a spinoff starring Sawayama. “The character of Akira really pops in the movie, and I’d love to sort of see some further adventures with her character,” she told Screen Rant. “There’s a lot of characters in John Wick 4, and a lot of fan favorites from movies of the past. There’s definitely a lot of stuff we want to dig deeper into.”

The latest update on the potential spinoff (not to be confused with the other John Wick spinoff) comes from entertainment journalist Brandon Streussnig, who wrote on X, “Was just talking to one of the Wick producers (on the record so I’m not spilling any beans lol) and asked ‘so we’re definitely seeing the Donnie/Rina movie right?’” They replied, “Yes. Absolutely, yes.”

As for a follow-up to 2022’s excellent Hold The Girl, Sawayama said that she “can’t release another album under my current conditions. I feel really trapped and don’t know what to do.”

Tyler The Creator’s efficient rollout for Chromakopia has wasted absolutely no time. After revealing the vinyl availability with a trailer giving fans previews of several of the album’s songs, Tyler has announced the dates for the tour supporting the project. The tour will begin in February with openers Lil Yachty and Paris Texas, and run through Europe, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand. Tickets will go on sale on November 1 at 10 AM local time and you can find more info here.

Jessica Pratt has had a terrific 2024 with the release of Here In The Pitch, her latest album and her first since 2019. Her 2025 is set to get off to a great start, too, as Pratt just announced a run of tour dates for next year.

The Spring 2025 tour encompasses a handful of new dates in March and April, hitting Birmingham, Alabama; New Orleans; Houston; Austin; Dallas; and Bentonville, Arkansas. Tickets go on sale on October 25 at 10 a.m. local time, so find more information on Pratt’s website.

A week after Top Dawg Entertainment President Punch Henderson debunked rumors of beef between rappers on his label and J. Cole, TDE’s Ab-Soul has admitted that he was upset with Cole over their collaboration “Pi“… but not for the reason fans might think.

“Pi,” which appeared on Cole’s April mixtape Might Delete Later, raised fans’ antennae for potential beef, as it appeared on the tape with “7 Minute Drill,” Cole’s response to Kendrick’s incendiary verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That.” After K. Dot called out J. Cole and Drake for supposedly “sneak dissing” him on their collab “First Person Shooter,” Cole was the first to accept the challenge. However, featuring K. Dot’s former labelmate and Black Hippy band member Ab-Soul on “Pi” had some listeners wondering if there was some petty gamesmanship on Cole’s part.

As it turns out, no, there wasn’t. Cole decided his heart wasn’t in it, deleted “7 Minute Drill” from streamers, and moved on eventually addressing things on “Port Antonio” early this month. However, at the same time, Soul dropped his own new song “Squeeze 1st 2,” with lyrics listeners believed were shots at Cole for involving him in the “beef” with Kendrick. However, Punch clarified on Twitter that all the involved verses and songs had been recorded before the “beef,” and that “Squeeze 1st 2” had little to do with “Port Antonio.”

Yesterday, Ab-Soul appeared on DJ Hed’s SiriusXM show, Effective Immediately, and reflected on his real issue with “Pi” — that he wasn’t informed by Daylyt, the third collaborator on the song, about Cole’s involvement until after the fact. “I’m lowkey hot,” he joked. “I’m like, ‘Lyt, bro, this is one of the best rappers in the world… I’m on his head like, ‘Bro, you have to let me know if you’re gonna send this shit off. He ate us up.’” Soul also made absolutely clear that “Cole is the homie, for real,” but that he was only upset because he wanted the North Carolina rapper to appear on his song “F*ck Out My Face [FOMF],” but rather than delivering the 12-bar verse that needed, issued 48 bars on “Pi.”

Until now, Sharon Van Etten has operated as a solo artist (although there was that time she, Julien Baker, and Angel Olsen formed a supergroup). Now, though, she’s giving band life a try: Today (October 23), her new group, Sharon Van Etten & The Attachment Theory, has announced a self-titled debut album and shared the single “Afterlife.”

Along with Van Etten, the group features members of her solo band: Jorge Balbi (on drums and machines), Devra Hoff (bass and vocals), and Teeny Lieberson (synth, piano, guitar, and vocals).

Van Etten explained how the group came to be, saying, “For the first time in my life I asked the band if we could just jam. Words that have never come out of my mouth – ever! But I loved all the sounds we were getting. I was curious – what would happen?” Magic, apparently. “In an hour we wrote two songs that ended up becoming ‘I Can’t Imagine’ and ‘Southern Life.’”

She also noted, “Sometimes it’s exciting, sometimes it’s scary, sometimes you feel stuck. It’s like every day feels a little different — just being at peace with whatever you’re feeling and whoever you are and how you relate to people in that moment. If I can just keep a sense of openness while knowing that my feelings change every day, that is all I can do right now. That and try to be the best person I can be while letting other people be who they are and not taking it personally and just being. I’m not there, but I’m trying to be there every day.”

Lil Uzi Vert is up to something: Today (October 23), they shared a peculiar new song, “Uzi The Earthling! (TV Show Theme).”

The 30-second track is in the style of a 1950s TV show theme song, sung in a retro-style female voice. These are the lyrics:

“Here’s the story of a guy named Uzi
Who’s known for his diamonds and his style
From the streets to the stage, boy is busy
Making music that’ll make you smile
Little Uzi Vert, he’s the one to see
Bringing joy to you and me
Little Uzi Vert, he’s the one to see.”

It’s not exactly clear what’s going on with this song, but based on the single art’s similarity to the original cover of Uzi’s 2020 album Eternal Atake, it appears “Uzi The Earthling” could be the first taste of an Eternal Atake sequel.

Uzi has also been teasing Luv Is Rage 3 for a while now. In 2023, Uzi suggested the project would be their final one, saying, “I was gonna wait ’til later to say it, but, you know, I’m dropping Luv Is Rage 3. And Luv Is Rage 3 will be my last album. […] After Luv Is Rage 3, I guess I will go on another tour. But after that, I wanna try to live a normal life.”

Sabrina Carpenter retired the “Nonsense” outros for the Short N’ Sweet Tour, but she has two new traditions. One involves showing off different “freaky positions,” while in the other, she “arrests” a fan for being too hot.

During the “Please Please Please” singer’s show in Atlanta on Wednesday, the audience member to receive the fuzzy pink handcuffs was actress Millie Bobby Brown, of Stranger Things (and being married to Bon Jovi’s kid) fame.

“I’m really distracted right now because I see this gorgeous girl,” Carpenter said during the show. “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up. This girl is so hot. Who are you, what is your name?” That’s when Bobby Brown — who was presumably in Georgia to film the final season of the Netflix series — appeared on screen, to the delight of the screaming crowd. She mouthed her name and held out her wrists waiting to be handcuffed as Carpenter joked, “Millie? Millie, I’ve never fallen in love at a concert before, but stranger things have happened.”

I’m not sure whether to applaud, boo, or be relieved that Carpenter didn’t make a “turn it up to 11” joke.

“It’s so unfortunate we have to arrest you because you’re so beautiful, that sucks,” she continued. “She said ‘please arrest me?’ I don’t know what to do and also, like, now I just feel like my clothes are embarrassed.” That’s when the bottom half of her skirt fell to the floor. “What have you done to me?” she teased. “Oh my God, not my skirt falling off in front of so many people!”

At long last, Apple TV+ has released the first teaser trailer for Severance season 2. You can watch it above.

The teaser begins with Mark (Adam Scott) running through the halls of Lumon Industries as we hear a number of voiceovers: “Everything they told you about severance is a lie,” “We’re not happy, we’re miserable,” “What is it we actually do here?” Eventually, Mark makes his way to his work-space, except he isn’t greeted by Helly (Britt Lower), Dylan (Zach Cherry), or Irving (John Turturro). There’s three new co-workers, including one played by Alia Shawkat. “Who are you people?” Mark asks before he sees a familiar face he wishes he hadn’t: the unsettling Mr. Milchick (Tramell Tillman). “Welcome back, Marcus,” he says while carrying balloons with Mark’s face on them. “Been a minute.”

Here’s the official plot synopsis:

In Severance, Mark Scout leads a team at Lumon Industries, whose employees have undergone a severance procedure, which surgically divides their memories between their work and personal lives. This daring experiment in “work-life balance” is called into question as Mark finds himself at the center of an unraveling mystery that will force him to confront the true nature of his work… and of himself. In season two, Mark and his friends learn the dire consequences of trifling with the severance barrier, leading them further down a path of woe.

Severance also stars Jen Tullock, Michael Chernus, Dichen Lachman, Christopher Walken, Patricia Arquette, and new series regular Sarah Bock. Season 2 premieres on Apple TV+ on Friday, January 17, 2025, followed by one episode every Friday through March 21.

Cardi B and Offset have broken up and gotten back together multiple times, but as things stand now, the two are done. In fact, Cardi is pretty upset with the father of her children, as she revealed in a fiery series of tweets on X (formerly Twitter).

In a now-deleted tweet (preserved by Hollywood Unlocked), Cardi started, “Bro I wish the worst on this man…I never hated somebody so much and these b*tches be so thirsty to have him please take this man off my hands this garbage bag is to heav !!”

Another user wrote, “He’s the father of your children. Stop.” Cardi responded, “Yea he is that’s why I don’t wish him death ..but I truly hate this firty ass narcissistic piece of sh*t…. And his family and his friends never check him that’s why he always going to be a piece of sh*t of a Person.”

In response to another user who wrote, “Yep, you still love him,” Cardi replied, “No I don’t I wan him to get his by a f*ckin truck …He really is just a dark cloud on anybody life he enters.”

Other users alleged it was Offset who called Child Protective Services recently, but Cardi had Offset’s back there, replying, “That’s not wat happened that got nothing do wit him,” adding in another tweet, “He a loser but he didn’t do that…It was a prank call he had to fly out and I couldn’t be there cause I’m hospitalized.”

The Los Angeles Lakers welcomed fans back to Crypto.com Arena for the start of the NBA’s regular season on Wednesday night when they played host to the Minnesota Timberwolves. The game was notable, as it was the first time LeBron and Bronny James took the floor as NBA teammates together, but we wanted to take some time away from basketball to highlight something: arena food.

Particularly, we wanted to make everyone aware of something that Arash Markazi tweeted about, which is a Doritos restaurant that puts Doritos in every single dish, and doesn’t limit themselves to just doing walking tacos like a minor league baseball game. Mona Holmes of Eater LA provided some additional info about the place on Monday:

On October 11, Crypto.com Arena debuted a restaurant where every dish centers around Doritos. Don’t get too excited, though; Doritos After Dark is only available to ticketholders during scheduled events at the Downtown LA arena and serves Doritos-flavored foods, including ice cream dipped in chocolate and rolled in Doritos Nacho Cheese.

On November 15, Doritos After Dark will open to the public for free and one night only before Sabrina Carpenter’s Crypto.com Arena performance at Peacock Place adjacent to L.A. Live.

Bare minimum, it seems like a fun idea, and something that I would like to try sometime. Unfortunately, I do not live anywhere near the state of California, so instead, I am doing the next best thing: Going through the menu and ranking the menu options based on how badly I would like to eat them, in the event that opportunity ever arose.

NO RANKING: The drinks

The restaurant has a Doritos Nacho Cheese Michelada, a Flamin’ Hot Limón Mango Chamoyada, and a Doritos Flamin’ Hot Limón Late Night Rita. None of these are food, so I am not including them, but I will say: I can imagine myself really enjoying a sip or two of these. However, whenever I have … not Doritos versions of these drinks (a chamoyada, a michelada, or a spicy margarita), I usually find them to be a bit too much for me about halfway through drinking them, so I assume that would be the case here.

10. Doritos Spicy Sweet Chili Veggie Roll

There is just something about Doritos-inspired sushi that I cannot wrap my head around. If you put all of these ingredients together in a different configuration, I am sure I would like them, but my stupid brain cannot comprehend the words “Doritos-inspired sushi.”

9. Doritos Flamin’ Hot Cool Ranch Cali Roll

Same as above, but this one looks a little tastier.

8. Doritos Flamin’ Hot Limón Churros

I love churros (who doesn’t?) and I love this flavor of Doritos, but the whole thing looks like a bit aggressive when you put them together. I’d very much like to try a bite of one, I’m just a touch skeptical of how that would go.

7. Doritos Nacho Cheese Crunchtastic Vanilla Cone

The easiest one to replicate at home by some margin. I think, in general, I would not love to eat an entire vanilla ice cream cone covered in nacho cheese Doritos, but again, I’m open to trying it. The good news is I can experiment with this one at home, although if I’m not a fan of it, I am going to get absolutely cooked by my girlfriend.

6. Doritos Spicy Sweet Chili Ramen-Rito

I feel like this is the menu option I would want the most if I was still in college. Instead, I am a sportswriter in my 30s, so putting all of this into one dish is a lot. Eating this and then having to file a gamer from Crypto.com Arena? No thank you.

5. Doritos Flamin’ Hot Nacho Veggie Dumplings

Personally, I would prefer if these were pork dumplings instead of veggie dumplings, and if that were the case, these would have a real shot at No. 1. Instead, they settle right into a respectable spot in the middle of this list.

4. Doritos Spicy Sweet Chili Chicken Bites

These look pretty good! I am sure they taste exactly how my brain imagines chicken nuggets covered in sweet chili Doritos tastes, and if I found myself on line at this place and I was unsure what I wanted to eat, this seems like a reliable option.

3. Doritos Cool Ranch Loaded Pita

Never before have I eaten a beef gyro and gone “You know what this needs? Cool Ranch Doritos.” Having said that, I completely see the vision, because conceptually, this sounds delightful. Maybe it ends up being too much, but beef gyro with fresh veggies and a creamy sauce getting the crunch and the flavor of, I would argue, the best Dorito flavor works in my head.

2. Doritos Nacho Cheese Messy Taquitos

I absolutely love taquitos. These, in particular, look fantastic, and keeping it simple with the standard Nacho Cheese Doritos works super well for this preparation, especially because there’s apparently a spicy nacho cheese sauce in the dish. If anyone with the Lakers reads this and wants to mail me some frozen Doritos Nacho Cheese Messy Taquitos, shoot me a DM and let’s get to work.

1. Doritos Nacho Cheese Texas-Style Loaded Nachos

I mean, come on, it’s delicious BBQ nachos using Nacho Cheese Doritos. Some people might knock these for having pickles on them, but that helps their case in my eyes. These look delicious, and in a way, no other dish is built around Doritos like this one. As a result, it’s No. 1 on this list, and if I find myself at the arena any time soon, I am going to order these, without any question.
