Lyrical Lemonade’s 2021 Summer Smash Is Headlined By ASAP Rocky, Lil Baby, And Lil Uzi Vert

Following a year that left us indoors, masked up, and praying for the day that our freedom came back, the second half of 2021 is shaping up to be a return of the normalcy we once knew. Festivals are making their way back to the scene as a string of popular showcases, including Rolling Loud and Governor’s Ball, recently announced their 2021 dates. Now, joining that list is Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash festival who just announced the lineup for their upcoming show.

This year’s Summer Smash festival will be a three-day showcase that takes place on the weekend of August 20-22, 2021. The first day is headlined by ASAP Rocky while the second is led by Lil Baby, and for the third and final day, Lil Uzi Vert will take the stage as the headliner to end the weekend. Additional appearances from Lil Yachty, Mulatto, Swae Lee, Femdot, Kaash Paige, Yung Baby Tate, Baby Keem, City Girls, Coi Leray, Earl Sweatshirt, Gunna, Ski Mask The Slump God, Blueface, MadeInTYO, 24kGoldn, Benny The Butcher, The Kid Laroi, NLE Choppa, Pooh Shiesty, Jasiah, and many more can be expected at this year’s Summer Smash.

The festival also joins a growing list of showcases ASAP Rocky will headline later this year, including the aforementioned Rolling Loud and Governor’s Ball. This seemingly signals that the rapper’s long-awaited fourth album is much closer to arriving than some may expect.

Bebe Rexha Is Teasing The Single ‘Mama’ Before Her New Album ‘Better Mistakes’ Drops This Friday

After a recent chance to connect with her fans on Instagram Live turned a little awkward due to one fan’s indecent exposure, Bebe Rexha is in a much better place now. The pop star is gearing up to release her sophomore album Better Mistakes in just a few days, and it’s got a packed collaborator list featuring the likes of Lil Uzi Vert on the extremely-catchy misandrist bop “Die For A Man,” along with a whole host of who’s who in hip-hop including Rick Ross, Ty Dolla Sign, and Pink Sweats. But tonight, the singer is focused on another track off the record, teasing a clip of “Mama,” track thirteen off the record, on her Instagram.

This one sounds like it’s much more of a power ballad than a hip-hop-indebted pop song, and that’s a place where Bebe’s voice really shines, she’s got a voice that’s well-suited to vamping and belting, and even in the brief clip there’s a few key moments where she shows it off.

Oh and another notable collab on the record? Her song with Travis Barker, “Break My Heart Myself,” which is getting a music video tomorrow night to coincide with the album release. Keep your ears out for this record pop fans, it’s going to put Rexha on a new level.

Joc Pederson Emphatically Bat-Flipped A Sac Fly He Thought Was A Walk-Off Home Run

The Cubs and Dodgers found themselves locked in an extra innings battle on Wednesday night at Wrigley Field, with L.A. taking a 4-3 lead in the top of the 10th inning.

In the bottom of the 10th, Chicago got men on second and third with no one out after a walk and a wild pitch advanced the runners. Stepping to the plate in poetic fashion was former Dodger Joc Pederson. With a chance to win the game against his old team, Pederson got a hold of one and drove it deep to right center field. Pederson thought he’d hit a walk-off homer, and flipped his bat with some force across home plate in celebration.

There was one problem, he did not hit a home run and instead had hit a long sacrifice fly to tie the game.

Hitting a sacrifice fly is important, of course, but the Cubs were unable to capitalize further in the inning, as the Dodgers intentionally walked the next two batters and got Wilson Contreras to ground into a double play to send it to the 11th tied at 4-4. In case that wasn’t bad enough, in the top of the 11th, with runners on first and third, the Dodgers grounded into what should have been a double play, but instead scored the go-ahead run when Javy Baez tagged the runner at second assuming Anthony Rizzo had stepped six inches to his left to step on first before throwing it down. He had not, and the runner scored.

The good news was Matt Duffy had Pederson and Rizzo’s back, picking up a two-out RBI single in the bottom of the 11th to tie it up. Fittingly, it was Rizzo who, after a walk in front of him, got to atone for his fielding gaffe and hit a two-out single to plate Duffy and give the Cubs a win.

That means Joc gets to laugh about his bat flip rather than feel the shame of a premature flip in an eventual loss, and Rizzo got to right the wrong from the top half of the inning.

A Drunk Guy At Kid Rock’s Nashville Bar Threw His Own Sh*t At Police Officers

With karma like Kid Rock, it’s almost surprising that a man wielding a bag of sh*t hasn’t disrupted his bar before. Yes, Kid Rock, born and raised in Romeo, Michigan (maybe this is a regional thing?), has fully cashed in on the Nashville tourism business to the point that he owns a bar and grill called — I sh*t you not — Kid Rock’s Honky Tonk Rock ‘N Roll Steakhouse.

But this story goes well beyond simply poking fun at the concept of a combined honky tonk, rock and roll, and steakhouse joint (though I imagine that it, on some level, shares DNA with a combination Taco Bell and Pizza Hut), and wanders into batsh*t territory quite fast. According to the local NBC News affiliate, News4Nashville, Kid Rock’s combination honky tonky, rock and roll and steakhouse bar was disrupted by a drunk man earlier this week. Not very newsworthy.

Keep reading though: Not only was Nicholas Newhart drunk and blocking an emergency exit door at the bar, but when he was asked to leave he refused, even to the point that the bar’s security requested police assistance in removing him from the premises. What local police didn’t know when they arrived on the scene, is that Newhart had a colostomy bag in his pants (read: a medical plastic bag that collects fecal matter), and decided to use it as a weapon, whipping it out and swinging it at officers.

Yes, a man threw his own sh*t at police officers at Kid Rock’s combination honky tonk, rock and roll, and steakhouse bar. Karma, she never misses. Newhart apparently doesn’t either — his feces landed on a pair of officers, which has earned him a charge of assault on police officers, along with disorderly conduct and public intoxication. Three, two, one for Rock to put this all in a song, and then perform it at his bar, hopefully free from disruptions this time.

Alex Lahey’s ‘On My Way’ Is A Free-Spirited Contribution To The Film ‘The Mitchells Vs. The Machines’

Towards the end of last year, Alex Lahey released “Merry Christmas (I Don’t Want To Fight Tonight),” a yuletide track that was good. Five months later the Australian singer is back with new music: “On My Way,” a track that appears on the soundtrack for the Netflix film The Mitchells Vs. The Machines. She’s one of many artists who appear on the soundtrack, including Los Campesinos!, Sigur Rós, Talking Heads, Grimes, Le Tigre, BTS.

The singer also recently shared a cover of Faith Hill’s classic 1998 song “This Kiss,” which turns the country-pop song into a modern indie effort. “For years, I’ve had this big idea of doing an indie rock cover of Faith Hill’s ‘This Kiss,’” Lahey said in a statement. “Two key changes, that iconic chorus, a million vocal harmonies — what more could you want? It was such a treat pulling this together with my mates Oscar and Jess as we navigated the depths of Melbourne’s lockdown last year.”

Lahey also planned to go on a brief tour of the United States’ West Coast in the middle of 2020, but of course, the pandemic forced her to cancel it.

You can watch the video for “On My Way” above.

Meek Mill Shared The First Picture Of His Youngest Son, Czar

Tomorrow Meek Mill celebrates his 34th birthday. While that alone makes it a special day for the Philly rapper, there’s another reason it’s important: May 6 is also the birthday of his youngest child, Czar. Ahead of his son’s big day, Meek shared the first image of his boy in a post to his Instagram page. “Happy bday Czar,” he wrote under the photo of Czar, who can be seen rocking some nice jewelry and a bucket hat. “Love you. Tomar your first big day!!!! [diamond emojis] can’t wait to see you …”

Following Czar’s birth last year, Meek celebrated the addition to his family on Twitter. “Milano dropped me off a king on my birthday! #thebestgift” he wrote in a tweet. Months later, unfortunately, the rapper revealed that he and then-girlfriend Milan Harris were no longer a couple. “Me and Milano decided to remain friends and build our child as separate parents,” he wrote in an Instagram post. “We still have mad love for each other but we both came to a understanding.”

Meek also recently joined the Dogecoin wave with a $50,000 investment and he dropped a remix to Drake and Rick Ross’ “Lemon Pepper Freestyle.”

Caitlyn Jenner Is Getting Dragged After Saying Her Fellow Rich Friends Are Sick Of All The State’s Homeless People

Gavin Newsom is in trouble. The California governor may be facing a recall vote after enough signatures were collected to put the matter on a ballot. But who will replace him? So far there’s Caitlyn Jenner, athlete-turned-reality TV star-turned-trans activist. (There’s also Randy Quaid, but the fallen actor has yet to formally enter the race.) Jenner’s also an outspoken Republican, prone to, say, talk passionately about the trans community in one breath and rail against them playing sports in the next. That’s one whopper Jenner dropped in her sit-down with Sean Hannity Wednesday night.

But it was a cartoonishly classist comment that really drew the ire of social media. Jenner was talking about the big wealthy person drain happening in California, which has found people like Elon Musk threatening to leave the state over various progressive stances. But if Jenner was attempting to be relatable to the voters of her prospective state, she might have failed.

“My friends are leaving California,” Jenner told Hannity. “My hangar, the guy right across, he was packing up his hangar and I said, where are you going? And he says, ‘I’m moving to Sedona, Arizona, I can’t take it anymore. I can’t walk down the streets and see the homeless.’”

Jenner’s casually classist comments rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.

Though it does appear Newsom has lost the vote of private plane owners.

Some people pointed out that this might go against Jim Jordan’s claim that they’re the party of the working class.

And others pointed out that, should she become governor, maybe she should do something to actually help the homeless problem.

Or maybe she should just leave, too.

Trey Songz Sued After He Allegedly Punched A Bartender At A Hollywood Concert

While Back Home, his most recent full-length album, was a big deal for Trey Songz last year, the rest of his 2020 was filled with controversies. Unfortunately the same goes this year. According to TMZ, the singer was sued by a bartender he allegedly punched during a Hollywood concert. The incident occurred at the Hollywood Palladium back on May 9, 2019, during a show for another artist — reportedly Cardi B — that he was in the audience for. In the lawsuit, the bartender is seeking unspecified damages, citing physical and psychological injury.

The bartender’s lawyer says that during the concert Trey jumped on the bar in order to sit on it. Trey was then asked to get off the bar, but he allegedly ignored the request. Then the bartender reached out to him in order to once again get his attention, but Trey turned around and punched him in the head, looked at the other bartenders at the bar, and went back to watching the concert.

Last week, it was reported that Trey would not face charges for fighting a police officer at an NFL game earlier this year. In that incident, he punched the officer in the head and placed him in a headlock during the AFC Championship game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills.

Trey Songz is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

G Herbo Reportedly Faces New Charges For Lying To A Federal Agent In His Fraud Case

After being charged with identity fraud late last year, G Herbo has been hit with new charges related to that case. According to The Shade Room, the U.S. Attorney for the District of Massachusetts filed additional charges against the rapper, born Herbert Wright III, for allegedly lying to a federal agent about his connection to one of the co-defendants in the case. Wright reportedly denied having a direct relationship with Antonio Strong, his friend and business associate. The FBI believes Wright and Strong have known each other since 2016 and maintained frequent contact since.

“Herbert Wright III, a/k/a ‘Herb,’ ‘Lil Herb,’ ‘G Herbo,’ and ‘Herbert Light,’ knowingly and willfully made the following materially false, fictitious and fraudulent statements and representations in a matter within the jurisdiction of the executive branch of the Government of the United States,” read federal documents The Shade Room obtained. “That is, during a voluntary interview with a special agent of the United States Secret Service and a special agent of the (FBI).”

Federal prosecutors also believe Wright gave Strong money and received “private jet charters, luxury accommodations, and exotic car rentals” in return. As a result, a motion to connect the new charges to the original fraud case was filed, which, according to Complex, he approved through a signed document. Herbo will return to court for the identity theft charges in August.

Even People Who Hate Meghan McCain Are Praising Her For Nicknaming Trump ‘Cheeto Jesus’

Using the word “Cheeto” to diss Donald Trump is far from a new thing. Ever since he became a Republican frontrunner, detractors have been drawing on his gross orange skin for jokes and japes. But it is new when a noted Republican makes that joke. On Wednesday’s blistering episode of The View, that Cheeto-brandishing Republican was no less than Meghan McCain.

The conservative commentator has long been on the anti-Trump side of her party, but she’s always come down harder on Democrats, among them her four regular colleagues. That changed on Wednesday. The GOP seems to be coming for Wyoming Representative Liz Cheney, one of the highest ranking Republicans in Congress. Why? She’s one of the few in her party brave enough to stand up to Trump and his toadies. She doesn’t believe in the Big Lie that the 2020 election was stolen from him. And now the rest of her party, still in thrall to a disgraced former president who now lives in a resort with strangers, seems to want her to lose power.

McCain wasn’t having it. She launched into a beautiful tirade against her party. The message that’s being sent by the highest member of Republicans in Congress is that women like me and Liz Cheney who refuse to bend the knee to President Trump, but still remain loyal Republicans, we don’t have a place in this party,” she said. “We’re worthless. We’re not worth fighting for to keep. It’s Kafkaesque to spin in this any other way.”

She added: “What’s happening is it’s clear — I’ll be a little crass: They’re shivving her for her saying the election wasn’t stolen and refusing to debase herself to Cheeto Jesus.”

The whole rant was incredible, but people dwelled on the “Cheeto Jesus” line.

Lots of people who righteously despise McCain couldn’t help but give her props.

Soon a new nickname was born.

But some were wary of trusting someone like Meghan McCain, who could have come for her party a lot earlier, to put it mildly.

But for now, kudos, Meghan McCain. Welcome to the resistance.
