Every talk show has a marquee segment, the one that manages to wrangle big guests for moments that often go viral. For Late Night With Seth Meyers, that has become the segments where Meyers goes day drinking with a celebrity guest. For the latest installment that aired last night (December 11), Dua Lipa joined in on the fun.
At one point during the proceedings, Seth and Dua went back and forth asking each other tough-to-answer questions, which they didn’t have to answer if they opted to instead take a shot. Seth asked Dua who the most famous person is who has slid into her DM’s, and she went straight for the drink.
Then, she came back by asking Meyers who is least-favorite talk show host is out of the ones he co-hosted the Strike Force Five podcast with: Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, or John Oliver. After a smidge of hesitation, Meyers looked down the barrel of the camera and declared, “I don’t think the British should be allowed to have American talk shows. We fought the Revolutionary War. […] John Oliver: Go back home.”
Of course, this was all in good fun, especially since the show then contrasted Meyers’ statements by promoting joint stand-up comedy performances Meyers and Oliver will be performing together in 2024.
There was tons of fun beyond that, so check out the video above.

Stephen Colbert returned to host The Late Show on Monday following a two-week break so the host could recover from a ruptured appendix. “I know no one wants to hear about a hunk of dead intestine filled with poison and bile,” he said in his monologue, “but unfortunately, Donald Trump is in the news.” It’s good to have him back.
Trump recently claimed that he and his cronies have been “waging an all out war on American democracy,” and that, if re-elected, he would be a dictator, but only on the first day of his new presidency. Trump says he was only joking about the whole dictatorship thing, something something fake news, but Colbert isn’t so sure.
“Now, obviously, we know he’s kind of trolling here, but we also know he’s telling us exactly what he plans to do, and if he gets unlimited power, he won’t be giving it up,” Colbert warned before comparing Trump getting a taste of dictatorship to people trying crack.
The Late Show host then read a Washington Post op-ed from editor at large Robert Kagan, who wrote, “Indicting Trump for trying to overthrow the government will prove akin to indicting Caesar for crossing the Rubicon, and just as effective.” Colbert joked, “Yes, Trump is just like Caesar, except history will never associate him with salad.”
Here are the best live music performances on TV from the past week (December 4 to 10) in alphabetical order.
Busta Rhymes:
Ahead of his 2024 Blockbusta Tour, Busta Rhymes dropped by The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon for a high-energy performance of “Legacy.” With a career spanning several decades, Busta Rhymes is no stranger to late-night TV, but this set was a special moment as he got to share the stage with three of his children, CIE, Trillian, and RAI, who are also entertainers.
Grupo Frontera:
Latin music stars have continued to dominate the US media space, and it won’t slow down in 2024. Grupo Frontera is at the forefront of next year’s international musicians set to take over. The group’s performance of their song “Amor Propio” on Jimmy Kimmel Live was a clear example of their breakthrough talent.
J Balvin:
Next year, fans will be treated to a hearty serving of J Balvin when he hits the road for the Que Bueno Volver A Verte Tour. In the meantime, his TV debut performance of “Amigos” on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon was a brief appetizer.
Olivia Rodrigo:
Olivia Rodrigo’s star power shines through every time she touches a microphone. But her stripped-back live rendition of “Vampire” for Saturday Night Live’s studio audience was a new peak.
Ric Wilson:
Ric Wilson is one of the most exciting acts out of Chicago, Illinois. Although it wasn’t an official in-studio performance, Wilson’s pre-filmed performance of the single “Pay It No Mind” (with Chromeo and A-Trak) for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is certainly worth a watch and honorable mention.
Zion Williamson has made headlines over the last few days, and not for an especially good reason. Williamson, the former No. 1 overall pick to the New Orleans Pelicans whose career has had numerous ups and downs due to his inability to stay healthy, laid an egg in the team’s In-Season Tournament semifinal loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.
In the immediate aftermath, Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley went onto national TV and tore into Williamson. Whether it was repeating long-standing critiques about his size or calling out his general effort, Williamson got a dressing down that was jarring, even if it came from a place of two Hall of Fame inductees seeing greatness in him and wanting him to be better.
Williamson responded to this on Monday night after he had a big game in the Pelicans’ 121-107 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. He was asked if he viewed their comments as a “legitimate critique,” and Williamson essentially said he appreciates it so long as it comes from a good place.

“If it comes from a great place and a place where they just wanna see me do better, thank you,” Williamson said. “But if it comes from anywhere else, everyone entitled to their own opinion. Can’t control that.”
Williamson scored 33 points on 13-for-17 shooting from the field against Minnesota.
Before he became the 45th president of the United States, Donald Trump had never held elected office. Why couldn’t his next running mate be a neophyte like he once was? Indeed, one of the names been floated as his next number two — including Marjorie Taylor Greene, Vivek Ramaswamy, and that former Trump-hating news anchor who lost a gubernatorial race in Arizona — is one of his biggest cheerleaders, former Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson. Alas, it sounds like he’s not so hot on that idea (at least for now).
Per Mediaite, Carlson was a guest on SiriusXM’s The Megyn Kelly Show on Monday, during which the host asked him whether he’d even entertain the idea of being part of Trump’s second administration.
“Well, it’s just– it’s just so unimaginable,” Carlson responded. “I mean, I haven’t led a life that prepares a person for politics. As I said, I don’t think I have any like horrible skeletons or anything. It’s not that, it’s just that that’s not how my brain works. I’ve never done anything like that. I can’t imagine spending time with politicians.”
It’s not that he wouldn’t mind working alongside the guy who keeps having massive, weird brain farts.
“I’m a total sucker for Trump,” Tucker said. “I think he’s– you know, personally I get along with Trump really well. The closer I am physically to Trump, like if I’m with him in the room, I always love Trump and I think it’s impossible not to, and you know the experience. He’s just charming.”
Carlson then launched into a mix of Trump butt-kissing and disingenuous-sounding self-deprecation:
“And he’s funny as hell, and he’s brave in his way, I think. So I really appreciate that and I agree fundamentally with his views. You know, maybe fewer wars, maybe have a border, like those are not crazy things and I support them, and I’m appalled and terrified by the use of the DOJ to rig an election, which is what’s happening now, so all those factors make me kind of psyched to vote for Trump. But serving in politics with anybody, I mean that’s just– that’s a– it’s a lot for me to think about because I just don’t think I’m really suited for that. Would anyone want to see a guy like me run for office?”
Kelly, though, was into the idea of Tucker in the White House. “You’re not gonna end your life without having been probably president, maybe vice president,” was her blood-curdling prediction.
But for now Tucker’s gonna keep doing what he’s been doing: recording pale imitations of his old Fox News show to far, far fewer viewers.
The news will surely be a bummer to Trump’s third wife, who recently responded positively to the idea of him as his 2024 running mate. “I like Tucker a lot,” Melania said. “I think I’d say I would because he’s got great common sense.”
But for now, at least, we’re spared. You can watch part of Tucker’s Megyn interview below, if that sounds like good use of your precious time.
Karol G is bringing her Mañana Será Bonito Tour to yet another part of the globe. In August, the “Mi Ex Tenía Razón” singer embarked on a seven-date run across the United States. Come February 2024, Karol G will travel between South and Central America for weeks of sold-out performances. On Monday, December 11, she unveiled a whole new set of dates for her European wing.
The trailer is as adorable as the cutesy handwritten note that teased the tracklist for Mañana Será Bonito (Bichota Season). Landmarks from the countries scheduled for the live show appeared on the screen, festooned with cartoon versions of Karol G, rainbows, and more are sprinkled throughout.
“Europe! In 2019, it was the last time we saw each other. It would be nice to see you in the summertime,” wrote Karol G in the caption. “Switzerland, Germany, France, Netherlands, England, Italy, Belgium, Portugal, Spain… I’m FINALLY going to see you.”
Tickets for the European leg of Karol G’s 2024 Mañana Será Bonito Tour go on sale for the general public on December 15. Find more information here.

The Frasier revival hit Paramount+ in October, and the reviews aren’t great. Surely it doesn’t help that it’s so different. Kelsey Grammer’s Dr. Crane is back in Boston, but so far only one Cheers alum — Bebe Neuwirth’s Lilith, aka his ex-wife — has shown up. Only one original Frasier cast member has made an appearance, too: Peri Gilpin’s Roz. And where’s his brother, Niles? The answer for that one is that David Hyde Pierce, the actor who portrayed him, didn’t want to do it. Now he’s opening up about why.
“I had just started on the Julia TV show and was working on a musical and going to do another musical,” the actor said. “…And I just thought, ‘I don’t want to be committed to a show and not be able to do stuff like this.’”
The works Pierce is referring to are, in order, the Julia Child show for Max; the musical The Visitor, staged at New York’s Public Theatre in 2021; and Here We Are, the final work from the late Stephen Sondheim, which bowed Off-Broadway this fall.
His schedule wasn’t the only reason he turned Frasier 2.0 down.
“I also thought, ‘They don’t actually need me,’” Pierce said. “Frasier has moved on to a new world. They have new characters. And I think I’m right. It’s doing great. And the new people they have are great.”
Pierce clarified that he wasn’t always opposed to the idea.
“It’s not like I said, ‘Oh, I don’t ever want to do that again,’” Pierce explained. “I loved every moment. It was that I wanted to do other things.”
Back when the Frasier revival first dropped, its showrunners said they had discussed the show with him. They even had a concept: the two brothers open a black box theater. Alas:
We talked to David Hyde Pierce a couple of times. He was in a tough position. Everybody wants to see him as Niles, but he doesn’t want to step back into those shoes. He felt like he didn’t have anything new to bring to the character. He read versions and gave us notes and thoughts, and he acknowledged it was funny and we found the tone the original did so well. It just wasn’t for him.
In the meantime, those who want to see David Hyde Pierce being very funny can see him in New York City, performing in the last-ever Sondheim musical.
2 Chainz has been putting the petal to the metal while promoting his collaborative album, Welcome 2 Collegrove. Unfortunately, the “Lost Kings” rapper was rushed to the hospital after his last public appearance in Miami, Florida. On Saturday, December 9, he shared a scary video on his official Instagram page of him being wheeled away on a stretcher from the scene of a terrible car accident.
On Monday, December 11, 2 Chainz updated fans on the incident. “This was the car that hit us from behind,” he wrote. “Praise God for the blessings. Things could have been worse, but it wasn’t.”
He added, “I don’t wanna a pity party. But I do appreciate every single person who checked up on me. Sometimes, someone in my position doesn’t feel like the love is real, or maybe it’s in my mind. But I truly felt the love, and don’t worry about me. I’m good. Shake back, king .”
When 2 Chainz first revealed that he’d been in an accident, some assumed that he was in the car. However, based on his note, he was simply hit by the damaged car. 2 Chainz hasn’t confirmed if he has any significant injuries. Still, according to TMZ, he allegedly suffered neck injuries.

When Pink released “What About Us” in 2017, the U.S. was at one of its most intense political moments. Donald Trump had been inaugurated as president of the United States, the Women’s March swept cities throughout the world, the infamous Charlottesville neo-Nazi rally happened, the Las Vegas mass shooting happened and tensions within the country were high.
Pink told Vulture that the day she wrote the song was “just another day I was angry about what’s happening in the world.” But the song doesn’t have an angry feel—it’s a ballad, but not quite. It’s a protest song giving voice to the world’s marginalized people, but it plays like a heartbreak song.
“I think it’s a beautiful song,” Pink shared. “It feels good in my body, number one. And it says everything I needed to say.”
When you listen to the lyrics as an adult posing a plea to the powers that be, it’s powerful. But when you hear it being sung by children as an anthem to the adults of the world, it’s a whole different animal.
Under the direction of the choir’s founder and director, Masa Fukuda, the children sing lines like “What about us? What about all the times you said you had the answers?” and “What about us? What about all the broken happy ever afters?”
Oof. Every line of the song hits different when it’s sung by kids. It conjures up the hard emotions we feel when the latest mass shooting happens in a school, when we see children paying the price of adult wars, when kids who go to school hungry are denied lunch because their parents can’t afford it. It reminds us of all the ways adults have failed to protect children.
Watch and see how the lyrics sound when kids sing them.
People have been moved by the performance.
One commenter quoted Fred Rogers: “Listen to the children, learn about them, learn from them. Think of the children first.”
“A cry from the defenseless, begging the rest of us not to forget them. Real touching. When I feel lonely and sad, I listen to OVCC because I know they’ll cheer me up every time. And they do. God bless you guys. Keep it up. Thank you,” wrote another.
“This is just…wow. I mean, this song is already so intense. I didn’t think anything could surpass the original version of it, and yet…I mean, there’s so much. They’re children, so it makes the whole song even more poignant, and also their voices, such beautiful voices. Makes one want to cry, and scream and just…yeah,” shared another.
People throughout the comments described the goosebumps and tears the video prompted, not only from the message of the song but from the impressive performance of the kids. Their singing talents and the emotion they poured into it made the song even more impactful. Absolutely beautifully done.

The British royal family is used to being under intense scrutiny, whether it’s the relationship between King Charles III and Queen Camilla. The rocky relationship that Prince Harry and Megan Markle have with the rest of their family or the numerous scandals involving Prince Andrew.
For a family forced to take public perception very seriously, it’s interesting to note that there is something rather strange about this year’s Christmas card from the Prince and Princess of Wales and that it wasn’t flagged before the photo was relased.
At first glance, the family appears in good spirits, with big smiles in matching white button-downs, denim pants and black slacks. However, there seems to be something seriously wrong with Prince Louis’ left hand.
Royal watchers on social media say that the photo makes it look like the 5-year-old is missing his middle finger.

A lot of folks sounded off on the mysteriously missing appendage on X.
Ok and also is Prince Louis missing a finger? What in the AI is going on?

There are various reasons why Louis’ finger appears to be missing in the photograph. His middle and ring fingers are spread far apart, exposing the skin between them. If this is the case, Louis must have some rather flexible appendages.
Others believe his thumb is tucked on the underside of the chair. This makes sense, but Louis has to have some pretty flexible fingers for this scenario to be correct.
As we saw above, others believe that the missing finger is a Photoshop failure or a mistake created by artificial intelligence. Artificial intelligence is known for having a hard time creating images of fingers. If it was a Photoshop fail, it’s not the first time the royal family has been accused of using digital photo editing software on its family photos.
Last April, numerous people accused the Prince and Princess of Wales of sharing a Photoshopped image of Queen Elizabeth and her grandchildren on what would have been her 97th birthday. Many suggested that Prince Louis was digitally altered in the shot.
ROYAL LIES. Who will set the history books straight?
Photographers are saying Prince Louis was not actually in this photograph with the Queen and her grandchildren. It’s said Louis has been added by photoshop. Kate Middleton seems caught in a very big lie about Queen Elizabeth. pic.twitter.com/yrUq6YTVRp

It’s fitting that Prince Louis would be the subject of such goofy or, as the English would call it, barmy, speculation. Louis is known for having a mischievous side. The young prince showed off his personality during King Charles and Queen Camilla’s coronation celebrations earlier this year, where he was caught making funny faces and yawning at inappropriate times during the ceremonies.
“He’s a cheeky monkey — a typical third child,” a source close to People told the magazine recently. “It’s nice that the world got to see him enjoying himself.”
Regardless of whether the photo results from a Photoshop failure or a member of the royal family having very nimble fingers, what’s interesting is that nobody on the Prince of Wales’ team noticed Louis’ hand and retook the photo or fixed it with digital editing. Or, it could be a great example of the royal family beginning to lighten up after all these years of public scrutiny.
