Here’s news that will make everyone who grew up listening to In Utero and playing Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 feel ancient: Frances Bean Cobain, the only daughter of late Nirvana leader Kurt Cobain and Hole singer Courtney Love, got married to skateboarding legend Tony Hawk’s son, Riley (as TMZ reports).
The ceremony was officiated on October 7th by R.E.M. singer Michael Stipe, Cobain’s godfather. According to TMZ, “Frances and Riley have been in a relationship since at least January 2021, and it’s her second marriage, his first.” It’s unclear if the bride and groom’s parents were in attendance.
Cobain and Hawk went “Instagram official” (a phrase that would no doubt have inspired Kurt as much as the “teen spirit” graffiti) in early 2022.

Are Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce dating? Probably! Neither of them have come out and said outright that they’re in a relationship with each other, but they sure have been doing a lot of relationship-y things lately. Swift’s been going to a lot of Kansas City Chiefs games, the two had a date night that included surprise Saturday Night Live appearances, and now, we have a confirmed kiss.
After the Chiefs beat the Los Angeles Chargers this past Sunday, Swift and Kelce spent some time with Kelce’s teammate Mecole Hardman Jr. and his girlfriend Chariah Gordon. Gordon shared some photos of the encounter on Instagram yesterday, and in one of them, Swift has her hand on Kelce’s chest as she kisses his cheek and he smiles for the camera.
Naturally, people have thoughts about this. The New York Post even put it on their cover.
Some fans couldn’t help but reference a lyric from Swift’s 1989 song “How You Get The Girl,” when she sings, “With pictures in frames of kisses on cheeks.”
Stephen Colbert returned to hosting The Late Show on Monday after testing positive for COVID (Taylor’s Version) last week. But he — and his team — might need to take a few months off after imagining Donald Trump in a bikini.
Ghoulish-looking Australian billionaire and “red-haired weirdo” Anthony Pratt reportedly overheard the former president ask his wife Melania to walk around the Mar-a-Lago pool in a bikini “so all the other guys could get a look at what they were missing.” She replied, “I’ll do that when you walk around with me in your bikini.” Credit where credit is due: solid zinger from Melania.
After playing the leaked audio of Pratt relaying Donald’s sleazy request, Colbert said, “Now, of course Donald Trump did not put on a bikini and walk around, but I asked my graphics department to mock up a photo of what that might look like. Let’s check in with them. How’s that photo going, guys?”
There’s no NSFW warning needed. Instead of showing Trump in a bikini, which should be no one’s Halloween costume, The Late Show played a clip from Aliens (Alien$) of a xenomorph victim asking the Marines to “please… kill me.”
You can tell that Jimmy Kimmel is (still) genuinely thrilled to be back in action after the WGA strike’s conclusion. The host clearly missed riffing in front of a live audience, and he’s caught up on plenty of Trump antics and is now hitting a stride. His fun so far has included an astute observation about one of Trump’s lawyers along with the jokes about the “scumbag” ex-president’s most famous insults. From there, Trump rallies generally provide a sound bite or two that provokes no shortage of laughter.
In this instance, Trump was reacting to the plea bargains from Sidney Powell and Kenneth Chesebro, who the ex-president argued were terrified into taking their deals. And to Trump, this was all part of a conspiracy against him because he dared to challenge the election.
“If you want to challenge the results of an election, they hound you,” he bloviated at around the 4:45 mark above. “But we don’t get scared.” Then he added, “I don’t mind being Nelson Mandela, because I’m doing it for a reason.” This comparison, of course, drew a mumble from Kimmel’s audience (after the host corrected the label to “Nelson Mandelicatessen”) because Trump would never be considered anti-apartheid in any universe.
Still, that wasn’t all. He demonstrated what he could do to Biden if given the chance. He even did a little pantomimed punch with a “poof, poof, poof!” This was very much a toddler move, of course, but we’ve seen how he handles that sippy cup, so it all checks out.
Trump was not done yet: “Poof, poof, poof. I’d hit him right in that fake nose. He’d have plastic lying all over the floor.”
Plastic? Hmm. It must be noted that Biden’s nose has never appeared to be “fake,” but fact checking ain’t a strong suit with this performer. Kimmel points out as much and then goes to town on the “poof” exclamation. Watch the full video above.
Earlier this month, Megan Thee Stallion started teasing something new, but it wasn’t exactly clear what. There was a lot of snake-like imagery and the term “Act 1” was being thrown around. Two prevailing theories have been that Meg is either launching a new musical era, or she has something in store for her beloved Halloween. Whatever the case, she teased some more last night (October 23) with a new video.
The 13-second teaser video shows just Megan’s mouth surrounded by black. As some music plays in the background, she says, “Just as a snake sheds its skin, we must shed our past over and over again.” We then get two creepy shots in succession: One of a shadowy Megan with snake eyes, and another of her baring her snake-like fangs. The video then offers two credits, “a story by Megan Thee Stallion” and “directed by Douglas Bernardt.” The post is captioned, “ACT ONE [snake emoji].”
Meanwhile, Meg recently said, “I have no label right now “And we’re doing everything funded straight out of Megan Thee Stallion’s pockets. So, the budget is coming from me. Dawn Richard – The Architect
Dawn Richard has had an incredible past couple of years. From 2021’s titular tribute to New Orleans’ second line tradition to last year’s ambient-jazz opus with Spencer Zahn, Pigments, Richard is on a hot streak. That continues on her newly released EP, The Architect, which includes two new songs, the six-minute, bouncy “Your Love / Legends” and the glitched-out “Babe Ruth,” alongside her 2022 one-off single, the highly groovy “Bubblegum.” Simultaneously futuristic and steeped in NOLA’s rich musical past, The Architect is further evidence of Richard’s undeniable artistic prowess.
Beabadoobee – “A Night To Remember”
Beabadoobee is best known for mining ’90s alt-rock and Britpop and infusing it with her own modern twist. Whereas last year’s Beatopia doubled down on that style, she tries out something completely new on “A Night To Remember.” Alongside Laufey, Bea’s new single is a loungey, warm jazz number with a bossa nova backbone. It sounds weird on paper, but she executes it with aplomb.
Ian Sweet – “Smoking Again”
Jillian Medford’s last album as Ian Sweet, 2021’s Show Me How You Disappear, reckoned with addiction, doubt, and existentialism. On Medford’s upcoming fourth album, Sucker, she reaches the light at the end of the tunnel. With newfound self-assurance, the Los Angeles indie-pop songwriter constructs some of her most instinctual, visceral music yet. The melodic “Smoking Again,” a document of relapse, unearths new layers within Medford’s artistry, presenting an emotional transparency that lends that much more depth.
Mannequin Pussy – “I Don’t Know You”
No one really captures the sorry state of the world quite like Mannequin Pussy does. The Philly punk rock quartet is known for scrutinizing Christian hypocrisy, police brutality, and the pitfalls of capitalism while limning those topics with bright guitars and punishing drums. Ahead of their latest album, I Got Heaven, they’ve shared the blistering title track and, now, the swooning, ruminative “I Don’t Know You.” The latter, with synth beds courtesy of new official member Maxine Steen, spotlights a softer side of the band, evincing their wide range as one of the best punk bands on the planet.
Enumclaw – These Are Some B-Sides
Tacoma, a now-vital scene within larger conversations of PNW indie rock, is home to Enumclaw, who put the city on the musical map with last year’s incredible Save The Baby. Billed as the “best band since Oasis,” they follow up on the hype with a new, three-track EP, the Toro y Moi-produced These Are Some B-Sides. Featuring the yearning, tuneful “Lost And Found” and the brief, light-hearted “F*ck Love, I Just Bought a New Truck,” Enumclaw prove once again that they’re the best band since Enumclaw.
Tanukichan – “NPC”
Shoegaze and Y2K pop are both in full swing. Whereas most artists reviving these sounds fall distinctly into one genre or the other, Hannah Van Loon, who makes dream-pop under the moniker Tanukichan, merges both seamlessly. Written and produced alongside Toro y Moi, Tanukichan’s sophomore album, Gizmo, showed Van Loon at her catchiest yet. Her 2018 releases, the EP Radiolove and the LP Sundays, chronicled Van Loon’s despondency and anxiety. She trades despair for disinterest on “NPC,” which she says in a press release is about mundanity and “maybe avoiding some responsibilities.”
Helado Negro – “LFO (Lupe Finds Oliveros)”
Helado Negro, real name Roberto Carlos Lange, makes music that blends the chugging guitars of rock and the wistful synthesizers of ambient. Somewhere in the middle, he strikes a balance that’s groovy yet gauzy. It’s a rare strain of art that feels grounded on Earth while gesturing toward the clouds. On the lead single from his forthcoming album, Phasor, Lange pays homage to two pioneering, influential figures in his music. “LFO (Lupe Finds Oliveros)” is a tribute to Fender amp wiring wiz Lupe Lopez and Deep Listening creator Pauline Oliveros. In name alone, it’s symbolic, hinting at the multifaceted talents of Lange himself and his respects to those who inspired him.
Drop Nineteens – “The Price Was High”
“Time is of the essence,” goes the opening salvo of Drop Nineteens’ first album in 30 years, Hard Light. The shoegaze legends never thought they would reunite, but then they realized the preciousness of time itself. After their seminal 1992 record, Delaware, became a cult classic and they had developed an unexpected fan base in their time away, one of singer Greg Ackell’s friends from the early days of Drop Nineteens reached out to him, just to see if he wanted to play music together. Once Ackell understood how integral music was to his livelihood, he gathered the crew once again. On the latest preview of Hard Light, “The Price Was High,” Drop Nineteens sound both rejuvenated and at ease. It’s another promising preview of a grand return.
Jaws Of Love. — “Change (In The House Of Flies)”
Although Local Natives just released Time Will Wait For No One earlier this year, vocalist-keyboardist Kelcey Ayer also makes music under the alias Jaws Of Love.. His latest single is a sparse rendition of the Deftones White Pony classic “Change (In The House Of Flies).” Whereas the nu-metal legends’ version seethes with distorted fury, Ayer’s version broods with its plaintive, piano-led composition, and it’s a great showcase for Ayer’s alluring vocal talents.
After much anticipation, “Sicko Mode” rapper Travis Scott’sUtopia: Circus Maximus Tourwas one of the most anticipated concerts of the year. During his “KPop” video, he teased that it would be an arena-only tour when he returned to the road. Scott kept his word, launching the Utopia: Circus Maximus Tour at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Wednesday, October 11. Since then, Scott has made stops at the PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina, the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri, and the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado.

According to information uploaded by fans to Setlist.fm, the set times of Utopia: Circus Maximus Tour have remained the same across past shows. Doors open at 7 p.m. local time. Teezo Touchdown takes the stage between 8:15 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. local time. Then, there is a brief intermission before Scott’s set at 9:30 p.m. local time. Scott’s performance runs for approximately one hour and thirty minutes. Overall, the Utopia: Circus Maximus Tour show is about three hours and thirty minutes.

Travis Scott is one of the most revered performers in rap music. So, to serve as his opener comes with a great deal of pressure. The guest act for the Utopia: Circus Maximus Tour is Teezo Touchdown. Teezo is a Texas native like Scott. But instead of coming out of Houston, Teezo calls the city of Beaumont home. According to Genius, Teezo shared his first single, “William Shatner,” in 2011. However, his debut studio album, How Do You Sleep at Night?, didn’t hit streaming services until last month. Before that, his songs “Strong Friend,” “Careful,” “Sucka!” and “Rooting For You” helped him gain a steady fan base. At the same time, his signature fashion sense of styling his hair with nails grabbed users across social media attention. Since then, Teezo has earned the respect of fellow rappers Drake and Tyler The Creator (whom he toured with last year).

“KPop” rapper Travis Scott’s return to the spotlight following the 2021 Astroworld Festival tragedy has been a sight to witness. His latest album, Utopia, quickly rose to the top of Billboard’sHot 100 chart following its release. Scott’s longtime collaboration with the Air Jordan brand is going strong, with his Low Golf’ Neutral Olive’ sneakers gaining traction with sneakerheads nationwide. He also declared his intentions to executive produce the Blade remake movie soundtrack. But his Utopia: Circus Maximus Tour has supporters locked in from the official merch, opening act, and, of course, Scott’s theatric closing performance. So, how long is Scott’s Utopia Tour concert?
According to Setlist.fm, the show’s schedule seems to be consistent from city to city. Since the Utopia: Circus Maximus Tour kicked off on October 11 at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, doors for each venue have opened at 7 p.m. local time. Ticketholders are given approximately an hour and thirty minutes to arrive at the facility and shop at the gift shop before Scott’s billed supporter, Teezo Touchdown, takes the stage between 8:15 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. local time.

Never said it, I never heard it. I said to my people, ‘Do you think they’ll ever acknowledge I must be doing okay?”
He then talked about how handsome he is, which he argued must be why people don’t remark on his oratorical prowess.
