If Bruce Springsteen was born to run (and tour forever), then Jeremy Allen was born to play Bruce Springsteen. 20th Century Studios has released the first image from Deliver Me From Nowhere, which stars The Bear actor as The Boss during the making of his hauntingly sparse 1982 album, Nebraska.

You can see the photo below.

“Beginning production on this film is an incredibly humbling and thrilling journey,” Cooper said in a statement. “Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska has profoundly shaped my artistic vision. The album’s raw, unvarnished portrayal of life’s trials and resilience resonates deeply with me. Our film aims to capture that same spirit, bringing Warren Zanes’ compelling narrative of Bruce’s life to the screen with authenticity and hope, honoring Bruce’s legacy in a transformative cinematic experience. It has been a great pleasure to collaborate with Bruce and Jon [Landau] as I tell their story, and their creative energy fuels every part of this journey.”

Deliver Me From Nowhere also stars Paul Walter Hauser as guitar tech Mike Batlan; Odessa Young as Faye, a formative love interest in Springsteen’s life; Stephen Graham as Springsteen’s father; and Johnny Cannizzaro as E Street Band member Stevie Van Zandt. A release date has not been announced yet.

Steph Curry Left Warriors-Clippers With A Sprained Ankle After Rolling It Twice

The Golden State Warriors got off to a strong start to the 2024-25 campaign, winning their first two games in blowout fashion over the Blazers and Jazz. After taking advantage of the two worst teams in the West, a bit of a stiffer test arrived on Sunday when the Clippers came up to San Francisco, and the two teams battled in a tight game throughout.

However, the outcome of Sunday night’s game became the secondary story for the Warriors, as win or lose, the concern was all about the health of Stephen Curry. The former MVP rolled his left ankle in the third quarter and exited for the bench, spending the next few minutes trying to stretch it out.

He would eventually deem himself alright to continue and checked in early in the fourth quarter, but lasted just one possession before he aggravated his injury, rolling his left ankle again on offense and immediately hobbling off the court and into the locker room.

Curry was quickly ruled out for the remainder of the night with a sprained left ankle, per the Warriors, and Warriors fans will wait for the official diagnosis after an MRI on Monday to determine how bad of a sprain it is and how long it will take for Curry to return. Ankle injuries are not new for Curry, as he has dealt with various ankle issues throughout his career, including missing time late last year with a sprained right ankle.

The Warriors will almost assuredly be cautious with their star’s health this early in the season and try to wait to bring him back until there’s minimal risk of aggravating his ankle, and without Curry the pressure shifts to the Warriors depth to step up and assume larger roles to keep them afloat in the competitive West early in the year until he can return.

The Bears DB That Tipped The Ball Up On Washington’s Hail Mary Was Taunting Fans Mid-Play

Tyrique Stevenson
joe_abdo/Twitter

The Chicago Bears looked like they were about to improve to 5-2 on the season after Caleb Williams led the offense to a go-ahead touchdown (and two-point conversion) that put them up 15-12 on the Commanders with less than 30 seconds to go in the game. Washington only had one timeout and hadn’t scored a touchdown all game, as a banged up Jayden Daniels couldn’t lead the Commanders into the end zone through the first 59 minutes of action.

After moving the ball up to their 48 with two seconds to play, all Washington could do was heave one to the end zone and hope for a miracle. They got that after the Bears botched their Hail Mary coverage and left Noah Brown completely alone in the end zone, with all of their defensive backs running to the ball as it fell from the sky at around the 3. Among those was Tyrique Stevenson, who was the player who ended up tipping the ball up and backwards (which is the opposite of what you want to do on a Hail Mary as a defender), and it appeared he was supposed to be the one that had eyes on Brown.

The problem there was, Stevenson was a bit more focused on jawing with the Commanders crowd, taunting fans in the corner of the end zone after the ball had already been snapped, before sprinting over and deflecting the ball up, leaving Brown wide open to catch the deflection.

The Bears defense played unbelievable well all game, but unfortunately a lapse in the last two seconds erased all of that work in the first 59 minutes. I have to imagine the film room tomorrow won’t be a fun place for Stevenson, who learned a painful lesson about staying focused on the task at hand, even when the other team needs a miracle.

Jayden Daniels Beat Caleb Williams And The Bears On A 52-Yard Hail Mary

noah brown commanders
NFL

After a hot start to the season for both the Bears and Commanders, CBS flexed the matchup between the top two picks in the NFL Draft into their national window at 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday. The hope was to see a shootout between Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels, but instead the first 50-plus minutes of action saw a defensive struggle as neither offense could really get rolling.

The Commanders were having more success, but couldn’t finish off drives and had a tenuous hold on a 12-7 lead late. The Bears, meanwhile, had only scored on a long run by DeAndre Swift and saw a goal line drive to take the lead end in a turnover when they tried to hand it off to a lineman, only for him to fumble the handoff. It was a sloppy game that finished with a flourish, though, as Williams led the Bears to a go-ahead touchdown with under a minute to play, leaving Daniels one timeout and less than 30 seconds to figure out how to force overtime or come up with a miracle for the win.

Daniels opted for that second option, as he moved Washington to their 48 with two seconds to play and, after buying a ton of time for his guys to all get to the end zone, unleashed a prayer that got answered when it got tipped backwards into the waiting arms of Noah Brown for the winning score.

It’s about as bad a job as you can do if you’re the Bears in this situation, as they don’t rush enough to put any real pressure on Daniels, allowing him to create space to load up and launch the ball. Then, in the end zone, they fail to stay with their assignment and all clump together to go for the football, leaving Brown unguarded once the ball tips up into the air. Somewhere, Tom Jackson is shaking his head yelling “KNOCK IT DOWN”, but the Commanders are thrilled no one in the Bears secondary grew up watching NFL Primetime.

The Heat Unveiled A Dwyane Wade Statue That Looks Nothing Like Dwyane Wade

wade-statue-top
Miami Heat

Dwyane Wade is almost universally viewed as the greatest player in Miami Heat history. While there have been plenty of big names to come through the Heat organization like LeBron James and Shaquille O’Neal, Wade’s mix of longevity, excellence, and commitment in Miami are unmatched. And on Sunday afternoon, the franchise decided to honor him with the ultimate sign of respect for a legend by giving him a statue outside of Kaseya Center.

There’s just one problem: The statue doesn’t look all that much like Wade. It looks like they were going for Wade celebrating something one of the many big moments that he was responsible for during his time with the Heat, but instead, it looks like … well, you can get a glimpse right here.

It’s unclear if Wade liked this, as he flat out said “who is that guy” during his speech after it was unveiled, and it’s unclear if he was expressing humility or legitimately had no clue what was going on. Almost right away, Twitter started to crack jokes about who this actually looked like, with people saying it looked like Kelsey Grammar, Laurence Fishburne, and more.

Obviously, it would be very difficult to retry to make an entire statue — the Lakers ran into a problem with one of Kobe Bryant’s statues, but it involved tweaking some small details and not making his face look different. Having said that, if anyone in Heat history would deserve a second shot at this, it’s Wade.

The ‘Venom’ Voice Is Actually Influenced By Hip-Hop, According To Tom Hardy

Tom Hardy has made a lucrative career off of his voice (among other things). But his accent in his coveted role as Eddie Brock in the Venom series takes the cake for some fans (not so much in The Bikeriders).

So, now that Venom: The Last Dance is in theaters, the beloved twang has returned. During a sit down with MTV, Tom Hardy spoke about the inspiration behind the voice he uses for Venom.

“One of the big inclusions that Kelly [Marcel] and I put into the melting pot of our, sort of, creative process is throwbacks to when we were kids,” he said. “What do we enjoy? Rap music…it was hugely influential for me as an artist, the spoken word, and what you can create with just a voice & some words. Also, some of the tonal qualities of certain MCs are larger than life.”

Hardy then went on to name some of those recording artists. “If you look at Method Man, Redman, Busta Rhymes, [and] Biggie Smalls,” he said. “There’s something about them that’s larger, bigger, and epic in the soundscape that they have. So that underpinned immediately when being playful and using a soundscape.”

He closed by saying: “It was logical that Venom had to fall into the canon of Busta Rhymes, Method Man, Redman, James Brown, you know?”

Venom: The Last Dance is in theaters now. Find more information here.
