Trump Has Vowed To End The ‘Madness’ Of Biden’s Electric Vehicles Push, Surely To The Delight Of Elon Musk

Elon Musk has been leaning ever rightward for the last few years, especially since forking over a fortune to destroy Twitter. But maybe hearing this news he’ll realize he’s picked the wrong team: Donald Trump, the possibly jailbound leader of the GOP, has chosen electric cars as his latest enemy.

As per The Hill, the former president took to his maybe doomed social media service to rail against Joe Biden’s push to make electric cars dominant in the motor vehicle industry. Trump zeroed in on Michigan, the top state for auto manufacturing jobs.

“The Great State of Michigan will not have an auto industry anymore if Crooked Joe Biden’s crazed concept of ‘all Electric Cars’ goes into effect,” Trump wrote. “CHINA WILL TAKE IT ALL, 100%. United Auto Workers, VOTE FOR TRUMP. Get your leaders to ENDORSE ME, I WILL KEEP ALL OF THESE GREAT JOBS, AND BRING IN MANY MORE. CHOICE IN SCHOOLS, AND CHOICE IN CARS!!!”

Auto manufacturing jobs have plummeted around 65% since their peak in the 1960s and ‘70s, though the number still remains higher than any other state. The Environmental Protection Agency has predicted that by 2023 two-thirds of new cars will be electric. Meanwhile, the Energy Department recently vowed to invest $12 billion in converting auto manufacturing facilities into plants for hybrids and EVs.

Still, Trump claimed in a separate Truth Social post that electric cars will “ALL BE MADE IN CHINA,” killing the auto industry in America.

Surely the news won’t go lightly for Musk, whose electric car company is, much like Twitter/X, also chaotic.

Sean Payton Wants Russell Wilson To Stop Acting Like He’s ‘Running For Public Office’

The Broncos hired Sean Payton this offseason to right the ship after a disappointing 5-12 season in which they fired their first year coach after 15 games and traded several first round draft picks to acquire Russell Wilson. Payton will be an immediate upgrade over former head coach Nathaniel Hackett who’s bizarre late game-decision making lead to several head-scratching losses last season. Furthermore, Hackett was touted as a quarterback guru who could help Wilson acclimate to a new offense, but Wilson had the worst season of his career under Hackett.

The jury is still out on whether Wilson is still a high level quarterback, but Payton is wasting no time trying to instill a new mindset into the Broncos quarterback and ensuring that last year is not seen as the new norm in Denver — he called Hackett’s coaching job one of the worst in NFL history. A recent ESPN profile by Seth Wickersham also revealed that Payton wants his quarterback focus less on his branding and more focused on football, telling his star in no uncertain terms that he doesn’t care much for Wilson’s desire to be liked by everyone.

Staffers seem cautious around Payton, not wanting to say something that prompts an outburst. Payton is the program, everything flowing out of his fierce ingenuity and ethic. He showed the team a video of a 2022 Ford Bronco driving off a cliff, letting players know last year is over. He told Wilson that to salvage his career he needed to focus less on Russell Inc. “Will you f—ing stop kissing all the babies?” he said. “You’re not running for public office.”

This comment comes as no surprise in regards to Wilson. His former Seahawks teammates, and even his coach, have not shied away from comments about Wilson’s demeanor. The Seahawks had a surprising season winning season last year after many expected a drop off after Wilson’s departure. Clearly the vibe between Wilson and the team were not good in those last Seattle years. It’s now up to Sean Payton to change that in Denver.

Jenna Ellis Is Reportedly Close To Flipping On Trump In Georgia After Being Forced To Crowdfund Her Legal Fees

Donald Trump‘s former attorney Jenna Ellis could flip on the former president, according to a recent report.

Ellis is one of the several co-defendants indicted in Georgia over RICO charges involving Trump’s alleged election meddling efforts. However, Trump left Ellis high and dry leaving her to crowdfund her own legal defense. Forbes report that she’s currently raised $195,000, and being left to scrounge to cover her defense could likely precede turning on Trump.

Ellis has been aggressively tweeting her thoughts about Trump, and while there’s no official indication she’s cooperating with prosecutors in Georgia, her statements don’t bode well for her old boss.

Via Newsweek:

“Trump could have issued a blanket pardon before he left office, with certain requisite conditions to be ascertained later on a case by case basis (such as non-violent individuals for instance, to foreclose pardoning anyone in your example). Why didn’t he?” she added.

In a separate X post from September 1, Ellis wrote: “Has Trump defended the J6ers [January 6, 2021 accused]? Has Trump defended the indicted lawyers? Has Trump defended the pastors jailed or threatened with fines over [former Chief Medical Advisor Anthony] Fauci’s failed covid policies Has he paid for anyone’s legal defense except himself (oh and Jason Miller’s child support lawyer)?”

Citing an August tweet from legal analyst Tristan Snell that claims Ellis is at her “tipping point” as well as comments from former Trump attorney Michael Cohen that the former president’s cheapness often screws him in court, Newsweek reports that Ellis is a likely candidate to turn on Trump.

However, in a Tuesday afternoon tweet, Ellis criticized the speculation that she’s ready to cooperate with Fulton County D.A. Fani Wills. While Ellis did not dispute the claim, she simply stated that any information regarding her actions will come from her or her legal team.

“Raw Story and Newsweek have reliably informed you that I’ve apparently reached my ‘tipping point’ because they consulted a ‘legal analyst’ — a leftist MSNBC commentator I don’t know and I have never spoken to. This kind of ridiculous speculation is what passes for journalism. 🙄” Ellis tweeted. “Note for the peanut gallery: Anything genuine happening with me in the Georgia matter will come directly from me or my lawyers.”

Arnold Schwarzenegger Says The Botched Open Heart Surgery That Threatened His Life Left Him ‘Freaking Out’

Arnold Schwarzenegger doesn’t just play a tough guy on screen, he lives the part.

In a YouTube confessional posted earlier today, The Terminator hero opened up about a disastrous medical procedure he survived just a few years ago. The 76-year-old action star underwent a valve replacement surgery in 2019, just months before he was set to film Terminator: Dark Fate. Unfortunately, the fairly routine operation morphed into life-saving, open-heart surgery after doctors accidentally nicked the former Governor’s heart wall, which caused internal bleeding and could have proved fatal had his doctors not acted quickly.

“I woke up and all of a sudden the doctors were in front of me saying, ‘I’m so sorry but it was unlike what we planned,’” Schwarzenegger said in the clip. “[They said] we made a mistake and poked through the heart wall and had to open me up very quickly and to save [my] life. I was really freaking out.”

The star then shared footage of his recovery process which left him humbled but more determined than ever to get back in shape. “It was a disaster. I was in the middle of a disaster,” he explained. “So now how do I get out of it? You have to shift gears. You collect yourself, shift gears and say, ‘OK, what I need to do now is I got to get out of this hospital.’”

Schwarzenegger had family and friends visit daily to help motivate him on his journey, revealing that simply walking the length of a hospital hallway proved difficult at the time. “I looked like an idiot waddling around in the hallways but the bottom line was I was getting going because the doctors said you have to exercise your lungs because if you get pneumonia you can die,” he added. Somehow, the actor was able to get his fitness back in time to shoot his sixth Terminator film just a few months later. He attributes that feat to his “positive attitude” and his “support system,” and he shared his story in the hopes it would inspire others to keep going in their own health and fitness journeys.

George R.R. Martin Weighed In On The ‘Best Finale In The Entire History Of Television’ (And It Sure Wasn’t ‘GoT’)

George R. R. Martin will write just about anything besides the book he’s been promising for years. The novelist has made many blog posts over the years about his (allegedly) “upcoming” installment, but he decided to take a break from letting fans down to talking about everyone’s favorite topic: TV!

In response to Vanity Fair’s “25 Perfect TV Episodes From The Last 25 Years,” Martin mentioned that his episode of Game of Thrones titled “Blackwater” landed on the list, though he had some better ideas for what he considers “perfect.”

The author mentioned the usual popular episodes, like The Sopranos episode “The Pine Barrens” and “Ozymandias” from Breaking Bad, but there was one that he felt was better than any of the silly shenanigans that Walter White was pulling. Martin wrote:

if I had to pick one episode that was even more perfect than all the others on the list, though, it would have to be the final episode of SIX FEET UNDER. I liked that series well enough, though I cannot say I loved it as much as I loved ROME or DEADWOOD or FARGO or a few other shows missing from the list, but that last episode was far and away the best finale in the entire history of television, and I cannot imagine how anyone could possibly do better.

It’s hard to imagine a more perfect ending than seeing how every single character dies, but having it set to “Breathe Me” by Sia? That was a top-tier move from HBO. It gave closure that shows right now don’t seem to give, which is probably just to keep finales open-ended in case a spinoff is ever in the works. Listen, finales can be hard. George would know.

Woman flips the script on habits, touting the benefits of a ‘chaotically organized life’

One of the beautiful things about humans is how diverse we are. Not just in the way we look, dress and eat, but in the way we feel, think and process. What works for one person won’t necessarily work for another, and trying to force a square peg into a round hole is just an exercise in frustration.

This truth is particularly apparent in the realm of productivity.

Productivity “hacks” are everywhere these days. As of July 2023, James Clear’s book “Atomic Habits” has sold 15 million copies worldwide. Clear’s approach to habit formation has made waves because it feels far more accessible and achievable than many others—and indeed, many have found it life-changing—but what if consistent habits and routines aren’t a part of your makeup?

That’s the question Elizabeth Filips addresses in a script-flipping video describing how her brain simply works differently.

Filips is an artist, medical student, author, podcaster and YouTube creator who has accomplished an astonishing amount in what she refers to as her “chaotically organized” life. For her, productivity doesn’t look like consistency, habit and routine—the things that are so often drilled into us as the keys to getting things done. Rather, she’s learned to harness her passion-led motivation and work in huge, productive spurts of focus.

Essentially, it’s the inverse of the “Atomic Habits” method of small, consistent improvements. Rather than get 1% better at something each day, Filips “primes” her passion for a task, waits until she gets to a point of “I have to learn this now!” and then makes 100%, 500%, 5000% improvements, all in one fell swoop.

It’s a familiar way of working for people with ADHD, only Filips actually explains the methodology of it in a way that turns it into a legitimate productivity approach. It’s not necessarily laziness if you can’t keep up with routines and habits—it may be that you are wired for more of a passion-primed sprint way of getting things done rather than a purposefully paced marathon.

Watch Filips explain:

Filips also created a follow-up video explaining how one potential downfall of this method is that you might quit things too often when the passion for them wanes. She explains how to not quit everything you start in this video:

Here’s to the various ways we all think and work and make the best use of our time. Productivity doesn’t look the same for everyone, so if you feel like you’re a square peg trying to squeeze yourself into a round hole when you read about habits and routine, maybe you just need to embrace chaotic organization. There’s no “wrong” way, as long as what you’re doing works for you.

Woman who lives on a cruise ship shares the hardest part about her perfect life

A lot of folks would love to trade lives with Christine Kesteloo. Her husband is the Chief Engineer on a cruise ship, so she gets to live on the boat pretty much for free as the “wife on board.” For Christine, life is a lot like living on a permanent vacation.

“I live on a cruise ship for half the year with my husband, and it’s often as glamorous as it sounds,” she told Insider. “After all, I don’t cook, clean, make my bed, do laundry or pay for food.“

Living an all-inclusive lifestyle seems like paradise, but it has some drawbacks. Having access to all-you-can-eat food all day long can really have an effect on one’s waistline. Kesteloo admits that living on a cruise ship takes a lot of self-discipline because the temptation is always right under her nose.

“One of the hardest things about living on a cruise ship is that I know right now, if I just leave my cabin, I can go and have cookies, pizza, a shake, I could have anything I wanted, and I want it, I absolutely want it,” she said in a TikTok video that received over 400,000 views.

@dutchworld_americangirl

The hardest part about living on a cruise ship is that I am surrounded by free food all of the time anything I want I just had lunch but it’s 2 o’clock in my body tells me it’s either cookie time or time for a hamburger. The hardest part is telling myself not to eat. #hardestpart #cruiseship #livingatsea #koningsdam #weliveonacruiseship #cruisefoodie #foodtok #itsaproblem #halcruises #hollandamericaline

“I am laying here. It is 2 pm. I had a salad for lunch, I had some fresh fruit, but that didn’t fill me up,” she continued. “Right now, all I can think about is eating a burger with some French fries and some mayonnaise.”

“And that, folks, is the absolute hardest part about living on a cruise ship,” she said. “I am surrounded by food all the time.”

She added, “The hardest part is telling myself not to eat.”

Kesteloo’s trouble is a common problem among people on cruise ships. A study by Admiral Travel Insurance found that over 60% of people who go on a week-long cruise anticipate gaining weight. Seventeen percent of people say they gain 2 to 3 pounds on a cruise, while 14% say they gain 4 to 5 pounds.

Other estimates show that the average cruiser will put on 5 to 10 pounds on a weeklong cruise. Imagine living on a cruise ship for half the year, like Kesteloo. She could quickly put on 100 pounds a year if she’s not careful.

“I’d be huge if I lived there. I would feel like I’m on a constant vacation, and who diets on vacation?” Theresa Gramelsapcker-Wilson wrote in the comments.

“This is my main reason why I couldn’t do this HHAHAHAHAHAA,” Cara Mia added.

“I never thought about those who actually live on a cruise ship. I would be 500 pounds,” Lucky Penny2468 said.

Kesteloo’s battle with temptation shows that in every life, a little rain must fall. Nobody ever truly has it perfect. Kesteloo seems to be living the perfect life on board a cruise ship, but she still has to fight temptation every moment of the day or make good use of the ship’s gym facilities. But, obviously, having access to too much food is far better than having too little.
