Ahead of the rapidly approaching Super Bowl on February 9, some ads, or teasers of ads, for the big game are starting to make their way online. Doja Cat appeared in a new Taco Bell spot a few days ago, and now Charli XCX is also promoting the food space with a new ad for Uber Eats, alongside Martha Stewart. The actual ad isn’t out yet, but a new teaser for it just dropped today (January 27).

The video sees Charli and Stewart, presumably on the set of their ad, addressing the camera as they take part in the “We Listen And We Don’t Judge” trend. They start by swapping lighthearted jabs at each other, with Stewart saying, “Honestly, Charli, when my agent first sent me your name, I thought it was the Wi-Fi password.” Charli then said, “Well, when my agent told me you were, doing this, I thought you’d be doing the catering.”

Charli then worked the name of the brand in, saying, “I thought a Super Bowl was something I could order on Uber Eats.” Stewart responded, “I thought it was something else.” As the video ends with an on-screen graphic teasing the full release of the ad, Stewart says, “Seriously, who are you again?”

While attending Paris Men’s Fashion Week, the always-stylish rapper Skepta posed for a photo with Rebel Ridge actor Aaron Pierre. The viral pic inspired headlines like “This Photo Of Skepta & Aaron Pierre? We Can’t Handle The Fineness!” and had people on social media comparing — and arguing about — the two men. “aaron still fine, but this is the SECOND time i’ve seen skepta stand next to an attractive celebrity and make them look crazy,” one post reads. Eventually, Skepta had to step in and quiet the commotion.

“Seeing big men are arguing with girls about me because I took a pic with a man 12 years younger than me lol,” he wrote on X. “I’m literally that man’s Uncle, you man need to chill and let the ladies tweet in peace jare.”

Pierre is a fan-favorite pick to be the next James Bond (maybe Skepta can provide the theme?) following his imposing performance in Jeremy Saulnier’s Netflix thriller Rebel Ridge. “I have not stopped pinching myself. It feels so surreal,” the actor, who also voiced Mufasa in Mufasa: The Lion King, told GQ UK about his breakout year. “I’m learning to prioritize rest in a new way. It’s not something that I’ve been very successful at in my adult life so far.”

The 2025 Super Bowl is set: the Kansas City Chiefs will defend their title against the Philadelphia Eagles. What’s yet to be determined, however, is Kendrick Lamar’s (and SZA’s) setlist for the halftime show. A new ad, though, has some thinking they’ve been given a hint.

During the Eagles’ and Washington Commanders’ NFC Championship game yesterday, a brief promo spot for Lamar’s performance played during the broadcast, and it was set to “Not Like Us.”

On one hand, it wouldn’t be surprising to see “Not Like Us” make the setlist, given it was a No. 1 hit for Lamar last year. On the other hand, the song is currently at the center of a defamation lawsuit Drake recently filed against Universal Music Group, Drake’s own label. The suit attests “Not Like Us” — a diss track aimed at Drake, of course — calls him a pedophile, and that by promoting the song, UMG hoped to devalue Drake’s music, so as to make future contract negotiations more advantageous for the label. The suit alleges the label boosted the song with tactics including hiring a bot farm to increase streaming numbers and payola with at least one radio station.

The game, and Lamar’s performance, is now just days away, on February 9, so we’ll soon know for sure whether “Not Like Us” makes the setlist.

The Kansas City Chiefs are now just one win away from becoming the first team to three-peat in the Super Bowl era, as Patrick Mahomes and company got the job done at home in an absolute thriller against Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night.

As has been the case whenever these teams have met in recent years, it came down to the closing minutes of the fourth quarter. After Mahomes led a Chiefs march for a touchdown and two-point conversion to open the fourth and put the Chiefs back in front, the Allen found Curtis Samuel for a game-tying touchdown on 4th-and-goal with six minutes to play. The Chiefs would quickly move it down into the red zone, but stalled out after a sack set them back on first-and-goal, and they had to settle for a go-ahead field goal to make it 32-29.

That sent Allen back on the field for the critical drive of the game, and rather fittingly, it came down to a fourth down after a few huge fourth down conversions and stops throughout the game with the Bills on offense. This time, facing 4th-and-5, the Chiefs dialed up an exotic pressure, showing pressure up the middle with their linebackers but having them drop out and bringing two DBs off the right side of the formation.

That blew up the play immediately, forcing Allen to retreat, but he somehow still got a throw downfield to an open man, but Dalton Kincaid could not reel it in despite getting hands on it as he came back to the ball.

The reverse angle shows how painfully close the Bills were to not just converting that fourth down, but moving into the edge of field goal range on that one play.

The Chiefs took over and picked up a pair of first downs, including the backbreaker on a third-and-10 pass from Mahomes to running back Samaje Perine, who ran for a first down to allow the Chiefs to put the game on ice with knees. For Kansas City, it’s their fifth Super Bowl trip in seven years, with a chance at an historic three-peat. For Buffalo, they, like the Ravens last week in Buffalo, will be going into the offseason replaying a few miscues and wondering what could have been.

Fede Álvarez’s Alien: Romulus is currently streaming on Hulu and recently received an Oscar nod in the Visual Effects category. Meanwhile, Earth has much more to worry about that’s coming from the skies, as viewers will see this summer. As of 2120, a space vessel will be hurtling toward our planet (as if there wasn’t enough to worry about here) for the Alien: Earth arrival. During Sunday night’s AFC Championship game, the above teaser shows what will lead to a Xenomorph touchdown, thereby sparking the Noah Hawley series.

The teaser’s tagline, “Destination: Earth. Impact: Imminent,” assures us this will be a destructive encounter, only a few years before Ridley Scott’s Alien space truckers sat down for their no-good meal interrupted by a chestburster. As this teaser reveals, the Alien and Alien: Romulus aesthetic remains intact in Hawley’s (Fargo, Legion) vision for the franchise. And if you feel a slight bit of vertigo from watching the containment-evading Xenomorph bounce around the Earth-bound vessel, well, get ready.

This series will stream on Hulu, and FX has followed up their cracked-egg imagery with some new key art that warns, “We were safer in space.”

That Xenomorph going to be angry as hell after pounding on that window during its descent toward the blue planet.

FX’s synopsis points toward Sydney Chandler’s character in making first contact with the alien ship:

When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat in the sci-fi horror series “Alien: Earth.” As members of the crash recovery crew search for survivors among the wreckage, they encounter mysterious predatory life forms more terrifying than they could have ever imagined. With this new threat unlocked, the search crew must fight for survival and what they choose to do with this discovery could change planet Earth as they know it.

Alien: Earth stars Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther, and Timothy Olyphant. The vast ensemble cast includes Moe Bar-El, Kit Young, Erana James, Essie Davis, Samuel Blenkin, Adrian Edmondson, Adarsh Gourav, Jonathan Ajayi, Lily Newmark, Diem Camille, Babou Ceesay, and David Rysdahl.

WNBA free agency began this past week as teams could begin negotiating with players, with signings not able to be official until February 1, but there was little in the way of movement in the early going, as the league was seemingly waiting on a major move to get things off and running.

Over the weekend, Annie Constabile of the Chicago Sun-Times reported a blockbuster trade was holding everything up, as the league awaited a three-team blockbuster to get done with the Seattle Storm, Las Vegas Aces, and Los Angeles Sparks. On Sunday night, word broke from Shams Charania that deal was indeed done, with the Aces acquiring Jewell Loyd, the Sparks bringing in Kelsey Plum, and the Storm getting the No. 2 overall pick in this year’s WNBA Draft.

Las Vegas gets: Jewell Loyd, No. 13 overall pick (via Sparks)

Loyd had made it clear this offseason that she wanted a change of scenery, and will get a chance to join the WNBA MVP, A’ja Wilson, and the star-studded Aces as they look to bounce back from a disappointing semifinals loss to the eventual champion Liberty last season. The six-time All-Star averaged 19.7 points and 3.6 assists per game last season in Seattle, and will bring more on-ball shot creation to the Aces backcourt alongside Chelsea Gray and Jackie Young.

For the Sparks, they seem ready to try and be competitive this year rather than continue building through the draft, sending the No. 2 pick to Seattle in order to add a three-time All-Star guard in Plum. Plum averaged 17.8 points and 4.2 assists per game for the Aces last year, but saw her shooting efficiency dip to 36.8 percent from three, her worst shooting season in four years. In L.A., she will join two young hopeful stars in the making in Cameron Brink and Rickea Jackson, as the Sparks look to get into the playoff picture in 2025.

Seattle, meanwhile, gets to hit the reset button in earnest and will hope to land an impact player with the No. 2 overall pick later this year. Olivia Miles, Sonia Citron, Kiki Iriafen, and others figure to be in the mix for that pick, as Dallas is widely expected to take UConn star Paige Bueckers at No. 1.

The Cyrus family may be filled with achy breaky hearts. Back in June 2024, Billy Ray Cyrus reportedly filed for divorce from fellow singer Firerose after seven short months. Recently, Miley Cyrus seemingly doubled down on her decision to remain “no contact” with her famous father. Now, Trace Cyrus has damning claims of his own.

In an upload shared to his Instagram stories (viewable here, courtesy of TMZ), Trace accused Billy Ray of threatening him with legal action over concerns he expressed about his health.

“Dad, my message was beyond loving,” he wrote. “I could have been extremely honest about a lot more. But, I don’t want to put your business out there like that.”

He continued: “But for you to threaten me with legal action for wanting you to get help is a disgrace. Pappy is looking down at you with such disappointment I can assure you. You should be ashamed of yourself.”

Despite this anger Trace inserted a sliver of compassion, writing: “I will all always love you, but I no longer respect you as a man,” he wrote.

Following his performance at President Donald Trump’s Crypto Ball, fans have questions for Rick Ross. However, they are going to have to wait because according to reports, so does the Georgia Department of Revenue.

An exclusive In Touch Weekly report, the outlet claims Rick Ross (real name William Leonard Roberts) owes nearly $65,000 in taxes. In documents obtained by the publisher, the Georgia Department of Revenue accused the “Champagne Moments” rapper of skipping out on a five-figure tax debt.

Due to the hefty balance, a state tax execution was reportedly filed against Rick Ross late last year. Ross’ supposed “delinquent tax liabilities” amount to $64,995.21 and stem from a 2021 balance. While Ross’ initial 2021 tax bill came in at $29,043, that amount has ballooned with interests and other penalties on top of collection fees.

To date the interest allegedly clocked at $10,576. While penalties are supposed listed at $19,516.80. Lastly, collection fees for Ross’ supposed tax bill were documented at $5,808. At this time, a release of the execution has reportedly not been filed by the Georgia Department of Revenue, which means Rick Ross is still on the hook for the balance. An insider says the Georgia Department of Revenue could initiate steps to collect the balance soon.

Rick Ross has not yet released a statement regarding the report.

A new Gracie Abrams album could hit streaming services before the year ends. But before that happens, the “Close To You” singer’s focus is on knocking out her The Secret Of Us: The Deluxe Tour.

But before Gracie Abrams could even hit the road, fans have already launched a petition for The Secret Of Us: The Deluxe Tour‘s European wing. Supporters abroad desperately want Dora Jar removed as the officially opening act because “they aren’t familiar with her music.” Yesterday (January 25), Gracie Abrams slammed the petition while praising Dora Jar.

“Just hearing about this absolute ridiculousness,” wrote Abrams in Stereogum‘s Instagram comments. “So wildly uncool and bizarre and also just does not remotely add up. I’ve only seen everyone’s total excitement and I couldn’t be luckier or prouder to share a stage with this talented wonder. Stream everything she’s ever made whether or not you’re coming to the show. Dora forever and ever ”

Over on X (formerly Twitter), Dora Jar addressed the petition during an exchange with one fan. “Don’t worry this doesn’t bum me out,” she wrote. I’m here to perform for all the music loving open-hearted fans. those who aren’t interested can go buy merch while I’m playing (but they might as well let me entertain them tho…;)) an overwhelming amount of fans has been so kind & excited .”

The 2025 Oscars are weeks away. With several nominations to his name for A Complete Unknown, yesterday (January 25), Timothée Chalamet stepped back into Bob Dylan’s shoes with a medley performance on Saturday Night Live.

During his monologue, Chalamet joked about his awards season losing stream. But as Chalamet delivered striking covers of Bob Dylan’s deep cuts “Tomorrow Is a Long Time,” “Outlaw Blues,” and “Three Angels,” viewers at home have declared him a winner in their hearts.

Prior to the release of A Complete Unknown, Dylan fans questioned if Chalamet could nail the musician’s eclectic sonics. Many wondered if Chalamet would forgo the music element completely. But Chalamet embraced Dylan’s catalog head-on. During an interview with Apple Music, Chalamet said he trained for the role for years, which included intense harmonica lessons.

“What I did for Bob [Dylan] started during COVID,” he said. “Learning all the songs. The Bob songs I know how to play, 20% of which are in the movie so that was the first education. For the movie I had to learn thirteen songs. But in total I can probably play thirty.”

Chalamet covers of “Like A Rolling Stone” and “Girl From The North Country” can be heard on the soundtrack. With his SNL performance of “Tomorrow Is a Long Time,” “Outlaw Blues,” and “Three Angels” now in the history books, supporters are curious about what other tunes Chalamet learned.
