If you want to see Ariana Grande performing live, you can head to your local movie theater. Although fans of the “Boy Is Mine” singer are raving about her Wicked showing, they want more. In fact, Grande promised them such.
Back in July 2024, Grande teased that she would embark on a mini-tour for Eternal Sunshine. However, after promotional obligations for Wicked picked up steam, Grande quickly abandoned those plans. During a conversation with Variety (captured by Pop Crave), Ariana Grande explained why she decided to scrap the show plans.
“I was considering a mini-tour between the ‘Wicked’ films,” she said. “But I’ve decided to prioritize acting for now. Performing will always be a part of my life, but I want to focus on this chapter of storytelling through film.”
Last confirmation seemingly comes after a technical issue on Ticketmaster led fans to believe the concert plans had been revived. Shortly, after the website mistakenly listed new shows for Grande, her label, Republic, quickly corrected the error with a formal statement.
“There are no plans for a tour next year,” commented a report for the company. “But Ariana remains deeply appreciative of her fans and all their continued love, support, and excitement.”
For those who wondered how Cillian Murphy would have time to appear in both the Peaky Blinders movie and 28 Years Later, well, there’s been a development. Last week, word arrived that the latter project counts him as an executive producer, but his Jim character will not appear onscreen. Tommy Shelby OBE fans need not worry, though. By Order Of The Peaky Fookin’ Blinders, Tommy remains alive, and Cillian will be front and center in this film. Creator Stephen Knight’s gangster show is making “six seasons and a movie” happen long before Community will, and after the movie took the gang back to Birmingham, Knight has been talking, so let’s get caught up on what to expect.
Release Date
Filming wrapped on December 19, 2024. Netflix celebrated the occasion with a photo (taken by Robert Viglasky) of Cillian in character as Tommy alongside newcomer Barry Keoghan. What will this mean for release timing? When quizzed on a precise date, Steven Knight told Deadline that “it’s a bit too soon for that,” but he added, “you can sort of work out that it will be about a year.” It sounds like we could have a Very Peaky Christmas for The Immortal Man, which still appears to be the film’s title.
FYI before that happens, Knight devotees can also drink in A Thousand Blows (with Hayden Stagg actor Stephen Graham) and perhaps House Of Guinness, too. Knight is a busy guy, but Tommy Shelby is clearly top priority.
Cast
Netflix/BBC
We have been keeping a running list of who will and won’t be back for this movie, but to sum up confirmed names, TV cast returns include Stephen Graham (as Hayden Stagg), Sophie Rundle (as Ada Shelby Thorne), Ned Dennehy (Charlie Strong), Ian Peck (Curly), and Packy Lee (Johnny Dogs). We probably will not be seeing Paul Anderson since there has been radio silence on that issue following legal issues for the Arthur Shelby actor.
Those who will almost certainly return but haven’t been explicitly confirmed are Sam Claflin (as Sir Oswald Mosely, fascist/Hitler ally) and Tom Hardy (as Alfie Solomons), who has expressed interest in returning and even did some trolling (he called it “punting”) for good measure. Bringing Alfie back in a WWII-set story could line the Jewish gangster back up in another plot to target Mosely, and although Alfie repeatedly betrayed Tommy (and you know, the whole shooting thing happened), their irresistible dynamic feels necessary to revisit, if only for a few scenes.
New additions will include Tim Roth, Rebecca Ferguson, and Barry Keoghan with the latter heavily speculated to be portraying (and multiplehints support that theory) Duke Shelby, Tommy’s illegitimate son who surfaced in the show’s sixth season and rightfully helped push Finn out the door.
Plot
Netflix/BBC
Credit goes to Netflix and BBC (as well as Knight, Murphy, and everybody else involved) for keeping the plot so hush hush. Initially, Murphy assured the show’s audience that, “Tommy Shelby wasn’t finished with me,” and “[t]his is one for the fans,” and Knight chimed in, “The country is at war, and so, of course, are our Peaky Blinders.”
More recently, Knight answered to theories that this show would spawn a spin off series, and in doing so, the prolific writer told LA Times that the film will be the beginning of more Shelby family tales:
“I always knew that the story of Tommy and the Shelby family wouldn’t end with Season 6. There is such a huge global appetite for the world of ‘Peaky Blinders,’ and so much more story to tell. I think it was around the end of Season 2 when I felt that the fan base deserved a say in the trajectory of Peaky. I’ve taken the family into World War II, and the movie we have shot is wild, explosive and deeply emotional. Even when the movie is done, there is more to come. Watch this space.”
Knight reinforced this point to Deadline and stressed that the movie “won’t be the end, let me put it that way. I’m not saying none of it.”
Quite possibly, this will be a story where Tommy passes the baton to the future generation (with Duke taking over the criminal side and Charles, if he appears, taking the legitimate reins). Other possibilities include further Tommy and Winston Churchill weirdness and more maneuverings (ideally successful this time) against Oswald Mosley. To ignore either of those options would not make sense during WWII, but how much of the “Shelby family” will we really see? Ava will be on hand, perhaps to clean up a Tommy mess or few, but she’s one of the only survivors of the core group. Polly, John, and Michael are dead, and Arthur remains a mystery (but it doesn’t look good). Lizzie is probably still gone, so it could simply be Tommy and Duke from the Shelbys.
One certainty, however, is that historical accuracy will probably still be gleefully thrown out the door. That could mean that Tommy would succeed in taking out Oswald Mosely (who managed to live until 1980 IRL), long after Tommy killed Billy Kimber (who actually died in 1945 IRL) during the series proper. Heck, maybe Churchill will resign as PM, and Tommy can have the job. It wouldn’t the most ridiculous historical twisting of the Peaky Blinders world, and you know that you’d love to see it.
Trailer
The trailer will be ready when Steven Knight is ready.
Every single week, our TV and film experts will list the most important ten streaming selections for you to pop into your queues. We’re not strictly operating upon reviews or accrued streaming clicks (although yes, we’ve scoured the streaming site charts) but, instead, upon those selections that are really worth noticing amid the churning sea of content. There’s a lot out there, after all, and your time is valuable.
Whether or not you believe that Keira Knightley can handle a spy story with choreographed martial arts (she can) and wield a weapon (also check) alongside a charming assassin (Ben Whishaw), this series is here to disprove every associated assumption. This show also happens to be the coziest spy series of the season (and there are plenty of competitors) and is the perfect length (six hour long episodes) to not drag out with unnecessary side stories and still leave viewers wanting more. And that second season is already in the works, either as another holiday season arrival or otherwise. That setting really doesn’t matter, just give us more Helen and Sam.
Harlan Coben’s relatively quiet brand of streaming supremacy (compared to the headline-making Taylor Sheridan, 50 Cent, and Ryan Murphy empires) cannot be stopped. His audience will always tune in to see his mysteries brought to life onscreen, and this limited series also makes the case that dating apps are bad news, even for Missing Persons unit sleuths who have the power to conduct extensive background checks. Wise advice.
This Warner Bros. TV series was cancelled last year by Starz after two seasons, but the Courteney Cox and Greg Kinnear-starring series has found life on Max. Does this mean that the series will be miraculously renewed by WBD? Probably not, but that won’t deter people from wondering the answer to that question, so get ready. Cox and Kinnear star as a couple desperate to save their marriage (after he has an affair), so they decide that moving from NYC to Connecticut could solve their issues. Unfortunately, their new Victorian-era abode is haunted as heck by a ghost, and yep, this is a satiric horror comedy series that came naturally for longtime Scream star Cox.
A team of creative minds behind Narcos, The Revenant, and Friday Night Lights have come together for this Neo-Western limited series in which Taylor Kitsch and Betty Gilpin go through hell on earth. The year is 1857, and they’re fighting through frigid elements amid the Mountain Meadows Massacre, during which Mormon soldiers killed hundreds of pioneers at the behest of Brigham Young (Kim Coates of Sons Of Anarchy). This clash involves Indigenous nationals also rising up to fight for their own survival within the same contested territory, and this ain’t Yellowstone, but there’s no question that Netflix wants to capture a piece of that pie.
Karla Sofia Gascón, Zoe Saldana, and Selena Gomez shine in one of two enormously successful musicals to release last year (Joker who?) as straight-up talent showcases and messages that will carry beyond theaters and streaming devices. The drama story hails from auteur Jacques Audiard and revolves around about a cartel leader who fakes their own death and emerges as a woman, Emilia Pérez. That’s only the baseline structure, and what unfolds is breathtaking [insert Scorsese meme] cinema.
Only one more season remains in this survival series before Hwang Dong-hyuk can take an enormous nap. In the meantime, meditation exists, which could also benefit Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae). In all seriousness, Netflix pulled off a strong sophomore season, which was surely an intimidating feat after the stratospheric worldwide success of this show’s debut. Further ambitiousness from the whole team will bring the third season later this year.
Demi Moore’s speech at the Golden Globes has boosted her into Oscar nomination territory, where she already should have been, but let’s face it, that wasn’t guaranteed. If that nomination becomes official in the coming weeks, the theme of this movie will have reached some ears, and that’s what Demi’s speech was geared towards doing. Even without consideration for awards, this body horror movie is still a hell of a watch, and there is never a reason to ever turn down watching a Margaret Qualley performance. Just do it.
ER star Noah Wyle dons the scrubs again to further prove that there can never be too many dramas that take place in fast-paced medical settings. This series arrives with the narrative gimmick of taking place “real time” over an hour each episode at the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital’s ER. In line with the IRL trials faced by healthcare professionals, there should be no shortage of stories to tell in this 15 episode season. That is one long-ass shift, and only one of the elements of realism that will be found in this show that hits on everything from the pandemic to the opioid epidemic.
Season finale time has arrived for Taylor Sheridan’s wildly appealing Billy Bob Thornton vehicle that has volleyed Michelle Randolph into a household name. She will soon be seen in 1923‘s second season, which will follow an entire month without new Sheridan material hitting TV. Rest assured that he’s still got plenty in his pockets, and there’s little chance that Landman won’t also receive a continuation, and hey, this series is also a hoot for those who sit outside Sheridan’s usual target audience. Call it the Billy Bob effect, but the appealing supporting cast (Paulina Chávez, Jon Hamm, Demi Moore, and Michael Peña) only add to the reasons to add this show to the queue.
It’s no surprise when people revisit series that are about to return, but in the case of these Innies and Outies, over three years have passed since the show’s debut, and a whole lot of living has happened since then. So, if you forgot what happened in the series finale, you are not alone; in other words, binge without shame. Creator Dan Erickson and director Ben Stiller will unfurl a new mindf*ck of a season that will include more goats, a snowy retreat, and Gwendoline Christie, who might be on hand to make Lumon seem even more terrifying. Mark, Helly, Irving, and Dylan all remain alive (for now), but Milchick has revealed them as “The Face of Severance Reform,” so watch out.
The Los Angeles Chargers came into Saturday afternoon’s Wild Card game in Houston as small favorites over the Texans despite being on the road. However, despite a new regime in charge led by Jim Harbaugh, it appears it will take more than one year to cleanse the organization of whatever curse hangs over them, as they had the kind of game only the Chargers can have in what became a 32-12 blowout loss at the hands of the Texans.
The Chargers dominated most of the first half on both sides of the ball, but couldn’t finish off drives and had just a 6-0 lead to show for their work. That quickly became a 10-6 deficit once CJ Stroud finally got rolling, and things got even worse in the second half. Justin Herbert and the Chargers offense could not figure out how to move the ball consistently against the Houston defense, but the sequence that was the most emblematic of the Chargers existence over the last decade-plus was on their best play of the game and lone touchdown.
Herbert hit rookie sensation Ladd McConkey on 3rd and 26 for what became an incredible 86-yard touchdown that should’ve cut the deficit to 9.
Instead, Cameron Dicker’s extra point got blocked straight up in the air and he inexplicably just kind of swatted it down at Texans defenders, allowing Houston to scoop it up and return it for two points of their own.
Only the Chargers could score what amounted to a 4-point touchdown. Things only got worse from there as the Texans tacked on one more TD for good measure (which was Important To Some, as Al Michaels would say). The Chargers have now made the postseason twice in Justin Herbert’s young career and have two of the most embarrassing Wild Card losses in recent memory to show for it (their second half collapse to the Jaguars remains one of the worst playoff showings I’ve ever seen). Jim Harbaugh might eventually be the coach that can get the stink out of the Chargers, but that is going to require a deep clean because that smell is extremely set in.
Yesterday (January 10), during the “Go Loko” rapper’s livestream one secret admirer proved that. To celebrate the forthcoming 10-year anniversary of his Fan of a Fan: The Album with Chris Brown, Tyga held a celebratory broadcast on Twitch (viewable here). Prior to the online event, Tyga encouraged supported to send in gifts for the segment, Freaky Fan Mail. Well, one fan remained true to theme by sending in a used pair of panties and a bra, which disgusted Tyga.
After opening the package and taking a look inside, he expressed his immediate disinterest. “I don’t even want to touch it,” he said. “I don’t even want to show y’all what’s in this, honestly. I might need some gloves.”
But with viewers begging to know what he received, Tyga reluctantly pushed forward. Eventually, Tyga pulled the bra out, in which the panties were attached. As he began to examine the items more closely, he released the undergarment was supposedly soiled.
“Oh, my God,” he yelled. “These motherf*ckers are dirty. This is actually kind of nasty.”
Although Tyga attempted to laugh it off, he couldn’t shake how unsettling the gift was. “People send crazy sh*t all the time,” he said. “The bra would’ve been cool, but [the panties] nah.”
Even with a nickname like T-Raw, Tyga clearly has sanitary boundaries.

Tyler The Creator is a rather animated emcee. However, one illustrator and animator are taking this up a notch. Ali Graham, the mind behind a viral Kendrick Lamar “Not Like Us” game, has used Tyler The Creator as his latest muse.
Graham’s latest animated goodies, Tyler The Game, allows fans of the “Sticky” musician to blend their love for gaming with each of Tyler’s creative era. In the game’s trailer (viewable here), viewers see a reimagination of Tyler’s albums Flower Boy and Wolf. Quests modeled after Chromakopia‘s “Noid” and Wolf‘s “IFHY” visuals are also featured in the trailer.
Although the game’s desktop only demo is limited in range, Graham has big plans for the future once its fundraising goals are met. In a statement posted on the website, Graham discussed his mission with the game. “We want to create the ultimate celebration of the genius of Tyler The Creator in video game form,” he wrote. “With playable levels inspired by the colorful and magical worlds created through his music, albums and videos. The idea is the ‘game-ify’ some of his most iconic moments from his career – whether its jumping through giant bee-filled sunflower fields (‘Flower Boy’) riding his bike through the woods (‘Wolf’), avoiding overenthusiastic fans (‘Noid’) or escaping getting burnt to a crisp (‘IFHY’).”
You can play Tyler The Game’s demo over on its official website. Find more information here.
According to Matthew Belloni’s What I’m Hearing newsletter, Justin Bieber is preparing to make his musical comeback this year. In the speculative posting, Belloni claims to have spoken to an insider who says Bieber has things in motion behind-the-scenes. Those things include Bieber’s securement of a new high power attorney, new music, and even a willingness to hit the stage.
Although Bieber often speaks about his love for music, Belloni cites another reason for the entertainer’s supposed comeback. “I’m told Bieber needs the money and wants to work,” he wrote.
Despite the hefty check ($200 million) Bieber allegedly walked away with after selling his catalog in January 2023, Belloni claims Bieber still has significant debt with AEG the promotor of his cancelled Justice World Tour.
None of the financial distress rumors published by the Belloni’s What I’m Hearing newsletter has been substantiated. On the other hand, in September 2024, Mk.gee confirmed the new music rumors.
