Khalid and Joe Jonas released their new collaboration, “Not Alone,” today. The somber piano ballad opens with Jonas on the first verse as Khalid tackles the second. Still, their voices perfectly complement one another to create a hauntingly emotional song. By the end, they introduce an electronic instrumental element that really drives the powerful message home. “You are not alone,” the duo sings together.

The song, which was co-written by Ryan Tedder and Harv, is set to appear on the soundtrack for the upcoming film, Devotion, as it plays in the end credits. Jonas is also acting in the war movie as the supporting character of Marty Goode. It hits theaters on November 23.

Along with their duet, Jonas and Khalid will be debuting the “Not Alone” music video later this afternoon.

“Khalid came on and finished it up,” Jonas told Popsugar. “It’s a beautiful, tragic song about being away from those that you really care about and always being there for them if you can’t physically be there for them.”

“It’s spiritual — I’d say it’s a little spiritual in some senses,” he added. “I am really proud of the work we did, and I think it’s one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written.”

Fresh off a dynamite run with Girl on the Third Floor and Jakob’s Wife, writer/director Travis Stevens has returned with a strange trip into haunting art and the most dangerous game. A Wounded Fawn earned solid praise during runs at Tribeca and Fantastic Fest, delivering a giallo-loving riff on serial killer shenanigans and trippy high art visuals.

The movie focuses on said serial killer, an effete culture hound called Bruce (Josh Ruben), bringing abusive relationship survivor Meredith (Sarah Lind) to his swanky cabin in the woods with the intention of killing her like all the rest. As it turns out, even though he has a hallucinated blood red owl on his side, the task is harder than he planned. What results is a cat-and-also-cat sprint headlong through surreal tricks of the mind and a slew of classic horror homage. Just for good measure, it includes some riffs on Greek mythology and whatever that creepy masked thing with the yellow snake is up to.

It looks like Beyond the Black Rainbow got shoved into a cabin at Camp Crystal Lake, and it drips maddeningly onto Shudder on December 1st to watch with a loved one or blind date.

Kim Petras has returned with her long-awaited new song, “If Jesus Was A Rockstar.” Backed by a guitar melody, she ushers in what is speculated to be her debut album era with a lead single that is prime for major pop radio appeal. The chorus is incredibly catchy, and the production is a slight departure from what fans might expect, considering her past hyper-pop releases. It also has an emotional backstory that ties into Petras’ personal life.

“I just had to dig really deep for this,” Petras told Billboard last month.

“For me, religion and spirituality is such an intense topic, because I grew up trans, not fitting into any religion. All of my friends were pretty religious, and I kind of just wanted to write this song about how I wish religion would include me — and how it doesn’t, and how a lot of my friends in the LGBTQ community are forced to feel this way.”

“That’s why I always looked for spirituality elsewhere,” she continued. “That’s why I loved music, because it gave me a similar sort of sensation, and gave me a place I belonged. So yeah, the song kinda says maybe if religion was cooler, then I would wanna be a part of it. So, if Jesus was a rockstar, maybe I’d want to be just like him.”

Before Petras’ newest song, her “Unholy” collaboration with Sam Smith reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The achievement marked the first chart-topping hit for either artist.

On the heels of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Rihanna has shared “Born Again,” a breathtaking new ballad. In the second of the two songs she recorded for the movie, Rihanna encapsulates the beauty of Wakanda while honoring late actor Chadwick Boseman.

“I’d give my heart to this place / I’d give my whole soul and whatever it takes, never run away / And I’d relive this just to see your face again / I know that you’d do the same, born again,” she sings on the raw, powerful anthem.

The next few months are sure to be busy for RiRi. On top of her two new songs, “Born Again” and “Lift Me Up,” Rihanna just launched her fourth iteration of her Savage X Fenty intimates collection. She is also gearing up for her Super Bowl halftime performance, which will take place in February.

While some members of the Rihanna Navy believe a new Rihanna album will arrive in tandem with the Super Bowl performance, Rihanna still isn’t allowing fans to get their hopes up for a new LP.

“Super Bowl is one thing,” Rihanna said in an interview with The Associated Press. “New music is another thing. Do you hear that fans?”

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is now playing in theaters.

People love The Watcher. It scratches the true crime itch, the Ryan Murphy weirdo itch, and the LOST confusion itch all at the same time, and it turns out it was the perfect show for our uneasy October. According to Deadline, the Netflix mystery series starring Naomi Watts, Bobby Cannavale, Jennifer Coolidge and Mia Farrow scored huge on the streaming ratings with Nielsen-confirmed 2.355 billion minutes of viewing. That’s wild! Not only was it enough to make it the #1 streaming show during the week of October 10th to 16th. It was also the second big hit for Murphy, who was fresh off the controversial/addicting Dahmer, which earned both massive popularity and backlash for its depiction of the serial killer’s violence against his victims.

It also stayed on streaming charts that week, clocking in at third place with 1.108 billion minutes of viewing.

Representing the blockbuster fantasy genre, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power hit the number two spot with 1.137 billion minutes, bookended by the lo-fi thrillers that cost a fraction of the glossy epic. HBO Max’s House of the Dragon was in a similar position, hitting the fourth spot with 960 million minutes, mostly for Matt Smith’s flowing white locks. Appropriate for October, Halloween Ends was the lone movie on the top of the charts, landing in 8th place with 717 million minutes (in addition to its theatrical box office).

Nearly two decades after its Oscar love, George Clooney’s Good Night, and Good Luck is potentially headed for a prestige AMC makeover as a series. The film, which explored broadcast journalism’s infancy through the lens of Edward R. Murrow’s righteous takedown of Senator Joseph McCarthy’s witch hunt for communists, was directed by Clooney from a script by producing partner Grant Heslov. According to IndieWire, Heslov is set to direct the first episode with Succession writer Jonathan Glatzer acting as showrunner.

Currently in development, if greenlighted by AMC, the series will go straight to series with six episodes in its first season. This version focuses on a fictional cameraman for Murrow’s news and opinion show who is torn between Murrow’s ideals and the potential for career advancement in an anti-commie CBS.

“As a massive fan of the movie, I didn’t want to copy it, or just do a facsimile of it,” Glatzer told IndieWire. “So, we’ve expanded the world to show how the division and hysteria of the times seeped into every aspect of daily life. I suppose it’s more of an origin story of where we are today.”

Making a series about journalism in an era of preening politicians and anti-commie scare tactics would have to work hard not to feel like a commentary on our current situation. Clooney’s movie was a straight arrow, buttoned all the way up to the top, but it feels right that someone from the wild jungles of Succession is the one to craft an update.

Justin Timberlake‘s solo debut album, Justified turned 20 last Saturday (November 5), and Tyler The Creator has taken to Twitter to celebrate the album’s anniversary. Today (November 10), he shared a tweet noting that the album is one of his all-time favorites, noting its strong songwriting and production.

“started a long write up about it but didnt finish it,” said Tyler. “JUSTIFIED turned 20 this year. a favorite album of mine. SEÑORITA bridge, the structure of NOTHING ELSE, the last minute of LAST NIGHT. very special album. christmas 2002 was one of the greatest moments of my life. 20!

This isn’t the first time Tyler has shown Justified love. Back in March of 2016, Timberlake posted an image of himself in the studio with Pharrell. Pharrell produced the bulk of Justified, alongside Chad Hugo, so this image led fans to believe that Timberlake was revisiting the sounds of his debut.

When Tyler saw the picture of Timberlake and Pharrell, he couldn’t contain his excitement.

“OH MY F*CKING GOD YES F*CK F*CK F*CK F*CK F*CK F*CK F*CK F*CK F*CK F*CK F*CK F*CK F*CK F*CK F*CK F*CK F*CK F*CK F*CK,” he said in a tweet.

Perhaps we may hear those vintage Timberlake sounds soon. On the album’s anniversary, Timberlake recalled working on the album with Pharrell, Hugo, and Timbaland. He ended his post saying, “Can’t wait for you to hear what we’re all working on now.”

In his video for “Love Myself,” a cut from his latest album, It’s Not Me, It’s You, DDG finds comfort on his own. Teaming up with Kevin Gates, the two are seen dancing throughout a luxury home, surrounded by beautiful women, as they confront the consequences of their non-committal ways.

“Dealin’ with past traumas, hedonistic in nature / Healin’ to break the cycle / Been a bit commitment-shy, but / I’m willin’ to make you my love,” raps Gates on his verse.

DDG swoops in on the second verse, lamenting a lost love.

“Reminiscing on the times, I wish we could do it again / I f*cked around and had you blocked, but I’m on the burner again / Lurkin’ on your page twice, I even be checkin’ your friends / Started questionin’ myself, like, this sh*t ain’t never gon’ end,” raps DDG.

While he may be lamenting a past relationship on the track, DDG is currently dating Halle Bailey and recently opened up about their relationship in an interview with The Breakfast Club.

“I’ve never been with nobody that’s like really motivated me like she do,” he said. “I’m seeing different sh*t. I ain’t really been around this type of sh*t before, so it’s like, she’s bringing me around sh*t that I ain’t really—you know what I’m saying?”

Taylor Swift has dropped not one, not two, but four remixes of her Midnights lead single “Anti-Hero” this week. After dropping two versions, a Kungs Remix and a Jayda G Remix, earlier this afternoon, Swift had another surprise in store — in the form of a new acoustic version. This also follows up the previously-released remix that featured Jack Antonoff’s band Bleachers on the second verse, as well as a Roosevelt Remix, which, according to Swift, “makes me feel hyped enough for an imaginary funeral brawl.”

While these four new versions, including the acoustic latest addition, aren’t currently on streaming services, fans can purchase them from Swift’s website with a downloadable link to listen.

The original version of Swift’s “Anti-Hero” has spent its second week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Not only that, but during the album’s opening week, she became the first artist to occupy the entire Top 10 songs.

In addition, last week, Swift also shared the instrumental versions of other Midnights tracks like “Bejeweled” and “Question…?” through her website. “Can I ask you a question… did you ever wonder who was responsible for those immaculate crowd vocals?” she posted, tagging both Jack Antonoff and his sister Rachel, her brother, Austin Swift, and actor Dylan O’Brien as the answer.

Lizzo is dropping a new documentary, Love, Lizzo, later this month on HBO Max — and she just released the first trailer for it. Love, Lizzo will detail how Lizzo’s life and early career days shaped her into the massively talented flute-playing pop star she is today.

“No matter what part of my story you come in at, I’m always chasing the music. Y’all have no idea how close I was to this not being a thing,” Lizzo says in the trailer. “Nobody was trying to sign a fat, black girl that rapped, sang and played the flute.”

“Now, when people see me on stage, they see themselves,” she continued. “Music gave me the opportunity to be who I am.”

The teaser opens with Lizzo playing to massive crowds and posing for chic photoshoots. Then, she gives fans a snapshot behind-the-scenes, with archival photos and video footage of her younger self, who was shy but writing pop songs in her childhood home.

According to the press release, “this is the journey of a trailblazing superstar who has become the movement the world desperately needed just by being herself” and “shares the inspirational story behind her humble beginnings to her meteoric rise with an intimate look into the moments that shaped her hard-earned rise to fame, success, love and international stardom.”
