One Of Margot Robbie’s ‘Babylon’ Co-Stars Is Certain That She’ll Win An Oscar For Her ‘Incredible Performance’

Babylon has all the makings of a Best Picture nominee. It’s a period piece about Hollywood from an Oscar-winning director starring two A-listers in Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie. The last time they worked together, in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Pitt won his first Oscar — could Robbie be next? One of her Babylon co-stars thinks so.

Eric Roberts predicted that Robbie, who plays Nellie LaRoy, an actress loosely based on the stars of yesteryear like Clara Bow, Jeanne Eagels, and Joan Crawford, is “going to win an Academy Award” for Damien Chazelle’s Babylon. “She gives the most incredible performance in Babylon that I have ever seen,” he told the Hollywood Reporter

The Righteous Gemstones actor compared Robbie to Elizabeth Taylor and Sandy Dennis in 1966’s Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, which was nominated for 13 Oscars and won five. “[They] gave perfect performances, and it’s on that level,” he continued. “She blew me away. I couldn’t believe how brilliant every minute of every day she was.

If there’s two things Eric Roberts knows, it’s that: “yes” is the right answer when you’re offered a role, any role, even if it’s promoting erectile dysfunction products; and that Margot Robbie deserves an Oscar. Babylon comes out on December 23.

Kremlin Opponents Are Reportedly Plotting To Oust Putin Through A Civil War Or ‘A F*cking Hammer To The Head’

As Vladimir Putin‘s invasion of Ukraine continues to be a deadly and embarrassing blunder for Russia, talk of his ouster has reached a fever pitch in recent weeks. The costly endeavor has made Putin’s own allies turn against him as his rivals see an opportunity to permanently remove him from power. On the table is a civil war reportedly being plotted in Poland by anti-Kremlin forces, and the goal is very clear: kill Putin.

Via The Daily Beast:

A guerrilla fight may be the only way to take down Putin, said opposition activist Viacheslav Maltsev. “The main goal is to physically eliminate Putin,” Maltsev said.

“The fight against terrorists requires terrorists’ methods,” one politician present said, according to Gazeta Wyborcza.

In addition to a mounting civil war, reports have been coming in that the Russian elites who make up Putin’s inner circle have turned on him. The Ukraine invasion has been an unmitigated disaster, and the Russian leader has made the worst mistake possible: Threatened the fortunes of oligarchs as aggressive sanctions target the country. It’s a situation that is not going to end well for Putin.

“Nobody’s gonna ask, ‘Hey Vladimir, would you like to leave?’ No. It’s a f*cking hammer to the head and he’s dead. Or it’s time to go to the sanatorium,” former CIA Moscow chief Daniel Hoffman told The Daily Beast. “They schwack him for it. That’s what they’ll do.”

LeBron James’ Story About Listening To The Migos ‘In 2010’ Doesn’t Make Sense, Given That Their First Mixtape Dropped In 2011

In the wake of the death of Migos rapper Takeoff, the tributes have poured in from all corners of the entertainment industry. However, one has made fans skeptical about the honesty of the speaker after one glaring detail in his anecdote about Migos and Takeoff turned out to be way off-base.

LeBron James, who is well-known for his music curation, was asked about Takeoff’s death after an LA Lakers game Sunday afternoon. His response, in which he recounted listening to Migos in the Miami Heat locker room in 2010, went viral on Twitter when fans realized that he couldn’t possibly have been listening to them then, because their first mixtape didn’t come out until 2011.

And while this could easily be attributed to a memory misfire — LeBron is almost 40, by the way — fans on Twitter apparently thought it was much funnier if they just assumed he was lying. Unfortunately, ‘Bron’s earned kind of a reputation for fibbing, telling reporters that he’s watched The Godfather trilogy six times or pretending to read books it seems very obvious he hasn’t.

LeBron wasn’t the only big star accused of telling fish tales this week. Fans also cried foul on The Game when he paid homage to the late Aaron Carter.

A dad’s letter to himself on his worst day, from himself on his best day

This article originally appeared on 11.23.16

Hey man, I know today was rough. I’m really sorry. I heard it was a doozy.

It started a lot earlier than it should have. I guess you could say the previous day never really ended.

You put your daughter down for bed around 8 p.m., like usual. You scarfed some food and chugged some NyQuil to try to knock out your throbbing cold, the one you caught from her (love those daycare germs!). Two hours later, you woke up to the sound of her coughing through the baby monitor. Then came the crying.

You rolled out of bed in a glassy-eyed, cold medicine-induced fog. You stumbled your way up the stairs to soothe her. Nothing worked. She cried every time you tried to lay her back down. Your head was throbbing. Your eyes dry and heavy. Her cries like nails on a chalkboard. You got frustrated and had to just put her down, let her cry while you walked away to cool off. “I can’t do this,” you thought, exhausted, drained. It didn’t matter if you could do it or not because she kept crying, and she needed you.

The whole night went on like this before the sun mercifully came up.

Breakfast time. You sleepwalked your way through cooking an omelet (you burned one side, but does it really matter?). She threw it on the floor and wailed. Did she want a banana? More water? Crackers? Was something hurting? You didn’t know. You just kept handing her things.

This was your entire day.

After that, you carried her over to her toy bin and let her play. She was joyful, finally smiling and laughing. You sat, zombie-like, sipping your coffee and enjoying the brief moment of peace. Then she tripped over a wooden puzzle piece and hit the ground hard. More tears. And then more. Normally she wouldn’t cry this hard, but she was sick. She wasn’t herself. You picked her up and held her and kissed the boo-boo, but she wouldn’t stop crying.

You put her back down because the crying in your ear was like a power drill to your temple. Normally, you’d be so much more patient and nurturing. But you weren’t yourself either.

The whole day was like this. You took her to the store where she refused to stay in the cart. She wanted to run up and down the aisles, which was fine, but then she tripped and fell. Again. More tears. She threw her lunch on the floor and cried about it. You tried to put her down for a nap, but she kicked and flailed until you gave up.

It didn’t matter if you could do it or not because she kept crying, and she needed you.

There were things to be done around the house: chores, projects, cleaning. You had nothing in you but medicine and whatever food you were able to scarf down between tantrums. It was all you could do to muscle your way through bath time and get her into bed.

And you weren’t far behind her. You crawled into bed, drained, knowing she’d probably be up within a matter of hours, hacking and coughing and crying. Poor thing.

When it was finally quiet, you felt bad for her. She didn’t mean to be a pain; she’s just a baby. A baby with a cold, at that. You were so disappointed with yourself. Why couldn’t you have been more patient, more loving? She had a hard day too.

You have to be better than that.

You drifted off to sleep locked in on one single thought: Maybe I’m not cut out for this dad thing.

I know your day was bad. Really bad. But mine was great, and I’m sorry, but I just need to tell someone about it.

Get this: It started at 8 a.m. 8 a.m.!

I know, I know. My daughter slept great. It’s hard to believe she’s so grown up. It doesn’t seem that long ago that she was only sleeping a few hours here and there, then struggling through the night. Last night we put her down at 8.p.m. and didn’t hear a peep out of her for 12 hours. I slept gloriously.

So. Much. Better.

The baby monitor gently crackled to life with her quietly babbling to herself. But I was already up. I climbed the stairs and pushed the door open to her room. She jumped to her feet and saw me, and she smiled the biggest smile I’ve ever seen and bounced up and down in her crib. As I got closer, she shot her arms into the air so I could pick her up. I did, and she laid a sleepy head on my shoulder.

She was a joy at breakfast. She sat in her chair and gulped down her banana while I cooked up an omelet (I nailed it, by the way, perfectly cooked, 10/10). I put on some music and she playfully shimmied her shoulders to the beat. When the eggs were ready, first she blew on them to cool them down, just like I taught her. She then showed off her fork skills and wolfed down the entire plate.

The rest of the day went by in a blur. There was the quick run to the store, where she helped put things in the cart and waved at every single person who passed by. Then, a trip to the park where she finally went down the big scary slide by herself. She came out the bottom giggling and ran to me.

I didn’t want the day to end.

And after I kissed her good night and mommy rocked her to sleep, I was left with just one thought: I am doing pretty OK at this dad thing.

It’s hard to believe sometimes that we are the same person, living the same life. But here’s what I know: Tomorrow is a new day.

I don’t know whether it’ll be good or bad. I really don’t. (I hope it’s good!)

But you know what? At some point, you’re going to look at that spot on the floor where your daughter tripped and face-planted, and you’re going to laugh. When you think about it, it was kind of funny, right? (She was totally fine.)

And eventually you’re going to find an old piece of omelet wedged under the kitchen table, covered in dust after she chucked it over her shoulder, and you’re going to roll your eyes lovingly as you scoop it up and throw it away.

Take it from me: You’re doing the best you can. You’re going to have those days where you wish you could keep it together better, where you wish you could be the perfect parent.

But if you can just hang in there, better days are ahead. I promise.

Trust me, I just had one. And it was totally worth the wait.

Who Is Spider-Punk, Who Will Be Voiced By Daniel Kaluuya In The Next ‘Spider-Verse’ Movie?

Even though Daniel Kaluuya is done with certain Marvel movies, it seems like he isn’t done with superheroes altogether! Kaluuya has been cast in the upcoming Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse which will swing into theaters next summer.

Spider-Punk is a relatively new iteration of Spider-Man that was introduced in a 2015 comic by Dan Slott and Olivier Coipel. Spider-Punk, AKA Hobart “Hobie” Brown is a homeless teenager who gets bit by a radioactive spider thanks to Doc Oct’s toxic waste dumping. While details about the upcoming installment are still under wraps, Shameik Moore’s Miles Morales and Hailee Steinfeld’s Spider-Gwen are both on board for the sequel to the Oscar-winning movie.

Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse also features the voices of Oscar Isaac, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez, Issa Rae, Rachel Dratch, Joma Taccone, Shea Whigham, and Jason Schwartzman. This will be Spider-Punk’s first film appearance, though he was originally voiced by Drake Bell in a 2016 episode of Ultimate Spider-Man.

Kaluuya actor famously did not reprise his role of W’Kabi in the upcoming Black Panther installment due to scheduling conflicts. He told The Hollywood Reporter that he was hesitant to speak about his decision due to the backlash from fans. If I said anything, people would be really disappointed. That’s how I feel about it. I think people will be disappointed. They don’t want to be spoiled. They’re surprised in whatever will happen. That’s what was amazing about the first one.” Marvel movies seem a little less stressful when you are just lending your voice to the role, as opposed to your entire body and likeness. So he should be fine!

Taylor Swift’s ‘Midnights’ Is ‘Billboard’s No. 1 Album For The Second Week In A Row

The Billboard 200 chart for the week of November 5 is out, and unsurprisingly, Taylor Swift’s new album Midnights again sits atop the list as the No. 1 album for its second week in a row. In its first week, it sold an eye-popping 1.140 million equivalent album units, making it the best-selling album of 2022 so far. Meanwhile, she also became the first artist ever to sweep the Billboard Hot 100’s top ten, with “Anti-Hero” landing at No. 1.

This week, according to Billboard, Midnights has the largest second-week total for any album since Adele’s 2015 album 25. MIdnights brought in 342,000 equivalent units (25 had 1.162 million), which is a greater total than the next six albums’ totals combined.

Lil Baby’s It’s Only Me came in at No. 2 with 81,000 units, while Bad Baby collected 62,000 units for the third spot with Un Verano Sin Ti. The Beatles’ Revolver reissue takes No. 4 with 54,000 units, while Dangerous: The Double Album by controversial country star Morgan Wallen brought in 41,000 to round out the top five. The remaining top ten albums are The Weeknd’s The Highlights, Baby Keem’s The Melodic Blue, Kodak Black’s Kutthroat Bill: Vol. 1, Harry Styles’ Harry’s House, and Beyoncé’s Renaissance.

Midnights could face some stiff competition for that No. 1 spot on next week’s chart thanks to the release of Drake and 21 Savage’s joint effort Her Loss.

Snoop Dogg Smokes A Lot Of Weed, But Apparently Not As Much As His Personal Blunt Roller Claims

Recently, Renagade PerRana, Snoop Dogg’s personal blunt roller, estimated the she has rolled nearly half a million joints since working for the rapper. That’s about “75 to 150 joints” per day, totaling around half a pound. That story was believable, given that Snoop is the type of guy to have his own personal blunt roller. While it’s true that Snoop smokes a lot of weed, he now says PerRana was exaggerating.

Yesterday (November 6), he shared a quick video in which he says, “B*tch said I smoke 450,000… b*tch, this is all in a day’s work. Stop lyin’. [How the] f*ck am I gonna smoke all that weed in one day? What am I, a f*ckin’ machine? B*tch, this is the roaches. See? Roaches.” The whole time, in the frame is a pile of nine roaches.

PerRana also recently spoke about how she got the job, saying, “They told me to come back the next night and I had a roll-off with a sound engineer that works with Snoop that, I guess, Snoop recommended and a Venezuelan cigar roller who rolls big boy stogies at parties. And I smoked them, to say the least, in that competition. So from that day forward, I was the premier blunt roller of the planet.”
