Dua Lipa Speaks The Language Of Love In ‘These Walls’ With Belgian Star Pierre De Maere

If walls could talk, what would they say? Dua Lipa and Belgian star Pierre de Maere team up to explore the question on their new song “These Walls.” Although Dua knows that the relationship described in the song is nearing its natural end, she can’t help picturing herself receiving a little extra encouragement. “If these walls could talk / (They’d say) “Enough” / (They’d say) ‘Give up,’” she sings on the chorus. Meanwhile, De Maere echoes her sentiment, albeit in French, the language of love, highlighting the true tragedy underlying the breakup.

The original version of “These Walls” appears on Dua Lipa’s recently released album Radical Optimism. If it seems like the album title and the theme of the song don’t exactly jive, listen: Sometimes, you have to face facts as they stand before you can make the choice to embrace optimism that things will turn out okay in the end. This point is completely unrelated to current events.

Dua Lipa recently wound up her Radical Optimism tour in the States, but she’s on the second leg in Oceania and Asia. She also taped her debut on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts and went viral for her unusual cocktail recipe.

Tyla Buffs Her Body At A Car Wash In Her Colorful ‘Push 2 Start’ Video

A little under four weeks since she re-released her well-received self-titled debut album, Tyla shares the video for the newly added single “Push 2 Start.” In it, Tyla and her girls take over a car wash, dancing on and between the freshly washed sports cars, getting soapy, and even indulging in some booty buffing while getting a fresh coat of paint. The tail end of the clip pays homage to Tyla’s Indian roots, nodding to the Hindu festival of colors, love, and spring, Holi with spray paint instead of throwing colored powder.

The deluxe version of Tyla puts a feather in the cap on Tyla’s standout 2024. Although she was forced to cancel her first-ever headlining tour in the US, she made up for it with the successful launch of her debut album, as well as collaborations with global superstars like Becky G and Travis Scott. Her standout performances and award wins at the BET Awards and MTV VMAs built on her legend, despite the controversy that followed the latter (arguably, the fact that there even was a controversy, however minor, is evidence of Tyla’s pop culture dominance). She was also acknowledged by the Grammys, proving that her star is only going to rise in the coming months and years as she continues to represent South Africanmusic on the global stage.

How Will The ‘Cross’ TV Show Be Different Than James Patterson’s Novels?

alex-cross-season-1-lg
Prime Video/Amazon

Reacher viewers tune in to see him tossing punches and accurately deducing the most ridiculous scenarios. Next year, Alan Ritchson’s protagonist will do both onscreen while taking on a new Lee Child novel, but first, a legit (and legendary) detective will put all previous deductions to shame. Both shows hail from Prime Video/Amazon, so this is a win-win situation rather than a rivalry between shows, but to prepare for the Aldis Hodge-starring series, it’s useful to consider how this series will differ James Patterson’s books.

Straight off the bat, viewers who are also readers should not expect a carbon copy to leap off the printed page. Cross will not directly adapt any Alex Cross novel in particular (unlike the Morgan Freeman and Tyler Perry movies) although there would have been dozens to choose from.

Rather, and as Hodge has revealed, the series “is based on the foundation of Alex Cross,” and creator Ben Watkins chose to take “the bone structure of that world and fill it up with a beautiful story.” The star also believes that the show will ultimately become “something completely unique.” As for Watkins, the showrunner declared the following:

“I said I was not going to do any of the seasons based on the books. I thought it was really important that we give fans a new offering, that we honor the characters and the world so that they would feel like they were getting what they signed up for, but also then give them a new story.”

Still, Cross’ workplace and family background will remain familiar. He will be reeling after the death of his wife while maintaining his profession due to being so much better at his forensic psychology gig than any colleague. During this first season, Cross will be working to crack a serial-killer case where the criminal has been cross-pollinating into other felonies, to put things mildly. However, Cross can climb inside the heads of criminals, so he’s down to go where no other detective can go.

Cross will premiere on November 14, and Amazon has already ordered a second season.

When Will ‘The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon’ Season 2 Stream On Netflix?

Daryl Dixon
AMC

Back in August, several AMC series including Dark Winds and Kevin Can F*ck Himself received an audience infusion after debuting on Netflix. The The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon was among that group after eleven seasons of the post-apocalyptic flagship series has enjoyed the same for several years, but the Netflix deals for these series mean that these shows have a waiting period before their newest seasons join the club.

So although AMC’s audience has now seen Carol Peltier reunite with BFF Daryl, not every The Walking Dead fan has enjoyed the Daryl Dixon: The Book Of Carol experience yet.

When Will The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 2 Stream On Netflix?

The second season premiered on AMC in late September with six episodes, and the series has already unveiled a teaser with an anticipated release in 2025. Once we hear about a more specific window, we can assume that Netflix will stream the second season about a month prior to release day. This will probably happen in Fall 2025, but we’ll be waiting to hear more.

Additionally, word on the Walker-clogged street is that the third season, which takes place in Spain, shot on location in “the Galicia, Aragón, Catalonia and Valencia regions, each providing a new and unique backdrop for the post-apocalyptic world.” AMC has also provided a third season description:

“Season three will follow Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier as they continue their journey to somehow return home and to the ones they love. As they struggle to find their way back, the path takes them farther astray, leading them through distant lands with ever-changing and unfamiliar conditions as they witness the various effects of the Walker apocalypse.”

Norman Reedus also hinted that a fourth season of Daryl Dixon is very likely, so it sounds like the duo won’t be recrossing the Atlantic anytime soon. The Commonwealth can wait.

‘Jeopardy!’ Just Shaded Travis Kelce With A Clue Referencing His Taylor Swift Relationship

Travis Kelce has long been one of the NFL’s most visible stars, but recently, he has achieved a new level of widespread cultural notoriety thanks to his relationship with Taylor Swift. Jeopardy! made a nod to that during the November 6 episode.

In the episode’s opening round (per J! Archive), the $200 clue in the “The TV Show In Question” category read, “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? is hosted by this man who’s maybe more famous as a BF than as a 3-time Super Bowl champ.” Contestant Derek Hieronymus correctly responded with Kelce.

Here’s a video of the moment.

This came shortly after Jeopardy! found itself in a bit of hot water. As USA Today notes, Heather Ryan, a contestant on the October 28 episode, recently spoke out about a clue that read, “Men seldom make passes at…,” with the correct response being, “Girls who wear glasses.” She said, “It is definitely an odd choice. I think it made everybody in the audience and on stage — and Ken Jennings, too — a little uncomfortable. It was like, ‘Oh, that was unexpected.’ Maybe we choose better rhyming phrases in 2024. […] Unfortunately, there are still girls who are (in) middle school, and they don’t want to wear their glasses and they’re losing out on their education. So, I think it’s much better to be able to see than anything else.”

Jennings apologized following the incident, saying, “A little problematic, sorry Heather.”

When Does ‘Dune: Prophecy’ Take Place?

dune-prophecy-lg
HBO

Timothée Chalamet + a sandworm + bizarre Austin Butler helped to ensure that Denis Villeneuve’s Dune success was not limited to pandemic streaming. Dune: Part Two raked in over $700 million globally and guaranteed that a third film would be forthcoming. First, however, an HBO series will fill in some blanks by going back to where it all began but also leaping forward in time. That sounds complicated, so let’s attempt to simplify the issue.

When Does Dune: Prophecy Take Place In The Sandworm Timeline?

This series will take place in two primary timelines (one of them being around 10,000 years before the blockbuster movies) and will launch long before Paul Atreides surfaced on Arrakis and when a sisterhood, Bene Gesserit, will show the audience a side of Frank Herbert’s epic brainchild that hasn’t surfaced in the movies. At that time, war had essentially obliterated technology and worldbuilding is afoot.

For source material inspiration, Dune: Prophecy follows the Sisterhood of Dune novel by Brian Herbert (son of Frank) and Kevin J. Anderson, who wrote of two Harkonnen sisters, Valya Harkonnen (Emily Watson) and Tula (Olivia Williams), who established the fabled sect to save mankind and make it possible for Duncan Idaho to exist. However, the story will leap forward in time, as described by showrunner Alison Schapker while speaking with Collider:

“I really believe that we found the best of both worlds when it comes to adaptation. Sisterhood of Dune was our seminal text that we were working with and drawing inspiration from. Our story is tethered to the events in that book, but we also are telling a story that takes place 30 years after the events of the book. So we have both the book to draw from, but we also have room to develop our characters and tell the story of Valya Harkonnen across multiple timelines.”

In addition to Watson and Williams, Dune: Prophecy will also star Mark Strong, Travis Fimmel, Jodhi May, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Josh Heuston, Chloe Lea, Jade Anouka, Faoileann Cunningham, Edward Davis, Aoife Hinds, Chris Mason, Shalom Brune-Franklin within an even larger ensemble cast.

The series premieres Sunday, Nov. 17 on HBO and will stream on Max.

Since Liam Payne’s tragic death in Argentina last month, detailed have gradually been revealed about the circumstances surrounding his passing. Now, the investigation has led to two people being detained.

Rolling Stone notes that per “multiple local reports,” Buenos Aires police have detained an employee of CasaSur Palermo Hotel, where Payne died, and an alleged drug dealer. The two are accused of supplying Payne with the narcotics that were found in his system in an autopsy.

Furthermore, police also obtained access to the home of an Argentine businessman friend of Payne, who presented himself as Payne’s manager but was not. He was accused of abandonment of a person, which could lead to a sentence of three to six years in prison. That accusation, though, does not require the suspect to be detained.

All in all, authorities have raided nine locations in connection to the investigation, eight of them related to the aforementioned three people. As for the ninth location, it was the room of a woman said to have been with Payne hours before he did. Police have also seized nine phones, three computers, two hard drives, and a jar of marijuana.

Other reports indicate Payne’s body has been flown to the UK ahead of his funeral.

Vivek Ranadive Jumped In The DeMar DeRozan-Drake Beef With A ‘They Not Like Us’ Shirt For Raptors-Kings

The Toronto Raptors traveled to Sacramento to take on the Kings on Wednesday night in a game that has suddenly given us a little spiciness off the court. Sacramento went to Toronto on the night of Vince Carter’s jersey retirement ceremony last week, which was the first time that DeMar DeRozan played in front of Drake since he appeared in the music video for Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us.”

While DeRozan, in the immediate aftermath, said he has tons of love for Drake despite his cameo in the video, Drake expressed that he doesn’t want to see DeRozan get his number retired in Toronto when his career comes to an end, and DeRozan seemed to have a lot of fun responding. And on Wednesday with Drake’s beloved Raptors in town, Kings owner Vivek Ranadive decided to show some support to his star forward by wearing a shirt with the words “THEY NOT LIKE US” on it.

The Kings picked up a 122-107 win on Wednesday to move and 5-3 on the season. All five starters scored in double-figures for Sacramento, with DeRozan leading the way with 27 points on 11-for-21 shooting. It is unclear if he was motivated by the fact that the team’s owner showed up and wore a shirt that trolled Drake, but I’m sure at least part of him appreciated it.

Rosé Has A Message For Her Dog Named After An Oscar-Winning Actor Before Eating A Spicy Wing On ‘Hot Ones’

Here’s a fun trivia question for you: name the only singer with a top-10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with a dog named after Tom Hanks. Time’s up! (It helps if you haven’t read the headline.) The answer: Rosé.

While appearing on the latest episode of Hot Ones, the “APT.” singer talked about her dog, Hank. “Hank was named after Tom Hanks,” she explained. “If you look at my dog, for some reason, he just looks like a Hank. He’s chic. When I go home, I’m like, ‘Hey, I miss you,’ and he’s very like, ‘Cool. It’s good to see you.’ We’re a good match because I’m very needy… we definitely balance each other out. Perfect combo, in my opinion. I hope he feels the same.”

Later on, Rosé had a message for Hank before eating one of the spicier wings. “I feel like I have to make a speech because this is going to kill me,” she said before looking into the camera to address her pup directly: “Hank, I love you so much. I hope I can survive this, but if I don’t ever see you again, I love you.”

Also in the video, Rosé discussed what differentiates Blackpink from other groups. “I think Blackpink, all four of us… each one of us, we want such big things for ourselves and we work so hard everyday,” she said. “I’ve never seen someone that’s just like, “I just want to rest.’ Even if we’ve said that before I don’t think anyone means that. Blackpink is really hardworking.”
