What happens in Sin City is supposed to stay there. Well, unless it is broadcasted to millions of viewers around the world. Professional boxer Terence “Bud” Crawford found himself in the middle of a viral joke due to an error by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
Yesterday (September 14), the UFC mistakenly identified Terence Crawford as Kendrick Lamar during the broadcast of the Saul “Canelo” Alvarez vs Edgar Berlanga fight. Those in attendance at T-Mobile Arena might not have caught the flub, but viewers at home sure did.
Immediately after supporters of the “Not Like Us” rapper took to X (formerly Twitter) with an endless amount of meme swapping out Kendrick for Crawford on album covers and more.
In a post shared to Crawford’s official Instagram page (viewable here), he laughed off the misidentification, writing: “Damn, Kendrick Lamar .”
Crawford went on to use Kendrick Lamar’s song “Euphoria” to soundtrack the image captured during the event. Crawford is no stranger to the world of sports (despite the botched identification) having secured several titles in the ring. Nor is Crawford a hip-hop novice. Back in July 2023, Crawford had Eminem perform “Lose Yourself” as his ring walk out track.
Fans now know of Crawford’s lighthearted sense of humor.
Ain’t no fun when the rabbit got the gun. Typically, fans cheer on Uproxx cover star Latto’s quippy one-liners. But that seems to only been when they are aimed at her rap foes like Nicki Minaj or Ice Spice. Supporters feel personally attacked by the lines in one of Latto’s Sugar Honey Iced Tea tracks.
Today (September 15), Latto offered clarity behind her latest viral track, “Brokey.” On X (formerly Twitter), expressed her displeasure with the song’s lyrics being used against everyday working folks before issuing a $10k challenge to them.
“I hate that y’all think I was calling hard workers brokeys ,” she wrote. “So I got $10k for whoever make the best video at they job to brokey & I’ll fly u out to be in the music video…no mo waiting til ur bday to go outta town. Tag me & hashtag #Brokey, so I can see them all.”
Users online jokingly called Latto out for further pushing the classist joke. “No mo waiting til ur bday to go outta town’ is so back handed,” wrote one user.
Latto laughed off the call-out, writing: “ Just a jokey.”

The Green Bay Packers picked up a pretty shocking Week 2 win at home to improve to 1-1 on the young season when they beat the Indianapolis Colts, 16-10. Before the year, a Packers win over Indy wouldn’t have been a shocker, but that was when everyone expected Jordan Love to be under center. Instead, it was Malik Willis making his first start in Green Bay after arriving to the team at the very end of camp, as Love suffered a knee injury in their opener in Brazil.
Willis struggled in his limited opportunities in Tennessee, and while he wasn’t asked to do much by the Packers on Sunday, he did show off some impressive game management ability. He was 12-of-14 for 122 yards and a touchdown, eliminating risks and letting the Packers defense dictate the game tempo as they dominated Anthony Richardson and the Colts offense. The best decision of the day from Willis may have been a ball he didn’t throw, which at the time looked like a bizarre enough decision that Packers coach Matt LaFleur asked him about it when he got to the sideline.
The reasoning from Willis was good enough that LaFleur couldn’t argue, as he was informed by Willis (and later the officials) that Packers center Josh Myers threw up on the football right before snapping it.
If, for some reason, you’d like to see the unedited video of a man throwing up on the ball, you can watch that here. Myers turns his head to the side and lets it rip before snapping a wet, disgusting football back to poor Willis. Credit to Malik for quickly realizing he’d been given a puke ball and that he should not try throwing it, as that was a turnover waiting to happen, so he just steps up, runs for what he can, and lets the Packers punt and continue playing defense. That’s all they needed to do to get the win, and hopefully next game they can avoid any more puke balls.
To borrow a phrase from Uproxx cover star Latto, get in the booth. Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s heated track-for-track beef surely inspired a lot of spin-off records. Yesterday (September 14), the latest arrived courteous of Lecrae.
On Kendrick Lamar’s “Watch The Party Die” song, he named dropped the Christian rapper, asking: “What would Lecrae do?” Now fans know exactly how Lecrae would’ve handled the feud thanks to his response record, “Ain’t Watch The Party Die,” which was shared to Instagram.
“I was wrestlin’ like, should I write a verse? / The culture got enough clout-chasin’ vultures out here / Tryna prove they worth, they need attention / They can’t imagine me not tryna make myself look bigger off of this Kendrick mention / I can’t imagine his position / Before I got on my mission I was a party victim,” raps Lecrae.
Throughout the record, Lecrae advocates for unification. But he was sure to address the narrative that he turned his nose up at secular hip-hop artists after a clip of his Deep End with Lecrae podcast went viral.
“I use my trauma, my single mama, to justify commas to pay the devils wages / That probably went over they heads / Basically what I said is I was government fed / Bred for doin’ time in the feds, but Jesus bled / Instead of puttin’ dents in they head, He turned His / My cup runneth over with nonsense / They hearts grow colder, they love to do evil, they burn they conscience / I want the dealer’s head who gave my cousin fentanyl / Labels exploitin’ rappin’ addicts, man, I’m sick of y’all / My daddy ran with Compton Crips, my uncles Piru / Stuck in the middle of this madness, what should I choose? / I should be choosin’ between Howard and Hampton / I love the people that I ran with but look at the damage / You want me put you on, but I know you still with the scammin’,” raps Lecrae.

The reunification of Jane’s Addiction is off to a bumpy start. Now, fans are afraid that it could all be over.
Yesterday (September 14), the group announced that they were cancelling their next gig after apologizing for a mid-show fight between frontman Perry Farrell and guitarist Dave Navarro. “We want to extend a heartfelt apology to our fans for the events that unfolded [on September 13],” read the note. “As a result, we will be cancelling tomorrow night’s show in Bridgeport.”
The performance in question was slated for tonight (September 15) at Bridgeport, Connecticut’s Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater. The note closed with refund details. That message is echoed on the event’s Ticketmaster landing page.
InstagramTicketmaster
Neither Farrell nor Navarro have publicly addressed the September 13 incident. However, Farrell’s spouse, Etty Lau, seemingly offered insight into the matter on their Instagram page (viewable here) while praising Navarro’s calm head at the moment.
“Perry’s frustration had been mounting,” she wrote. “Night after night, he felt that the stage volume had been extremely loud, and his voice was being drowned out by the band. Perry had been suffering from tinnitus and a sore throat every night. But when the audience in the first row, started complaining up to Perry cussing at him that the band was planning too loud and that they couldn’t hear him, Perry lost it.”
According to the band’s last performance schedule, there were 14 dates left on their Imminent Redemption Tour. But it is unclear if Jane’s Addiction will finish out the remaining shows.
Yesterday (September 14), their Sweat Tour launched in Detroit, Michigan. While the tour is equally billed, Troye served the honors of opening the night at Little Caesars Arena. According to reports, this will remain the case throughout the tour as Troye and Charli alternate sets (of three songs) during each performance. But don’t worry the pair will treat audiences to duet of their past collaborations along the way.

For weeks Drake fans have been waiting for the Kendrick Lamar’s public favor to expire. Yesterday (September 14), it appeared that it finally had. In an exclusive report from the LA Times, business owners from the “6:16 In LA” rapper’s hometown expressed their frustration with Kendrick over his “Not Like Us” video shoot.
However, after the piece was published, one of the Compton, California entrepreneur came out against the story. Over on Instagram, Corina Pleasant of Alma’s Food For The Soul claimed to have been “misquoted.” Initially it was believed that Pleasant and others held Kendrick, his production company pgLang, and the city officials responsible for thousands in lost revenue during the video’s filming.
“This entire post is misquoted and pushing a narrative that we do not represent,” wrote the business’ official Instagram page. “Please, please do not believe everything you read. Words have been twisted, and it’s not right.”
The account then went to clarify their feelings, writing: “The city should have made better decisions with notification to tax paying business owners. We, in no way have any negative commentary for Kendrick. This was a city issue.”
To close, the page also slammed internet personality Akademiks for his commentary on the matter. “And Akademiks you better be careful about misquoting people and twisting words,” they wrote. “We never spoke to you, so how are you misquoting verbiage as fact.”
Despite Pleasant’s updated statement, the business appeared to still receive negative attention. So, in their Instagram Stories they tried to make the best of their new-found infamy.

Kendrick Lamar, pgLang, nor have Compton, California city official publicly addressed the statement.
For the fourth time in five years, Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was diagnosed with a concussion. The latest injury came on Thursday night during the team’s 31-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills, as Tagovailoa attempted to pick up a first down with his legs, dove, and collided with Bills safety Demar Hamlin.
After his latest concussion, the calls for Tagovailoa to retire are louder than ever — it got to the point that a current NFL head coach, Antonio Piece of the Las Vegas Raiders, said he should retire and that “it’s not worth it.” But according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Dolphins signal caller does not intend on going down that road.
From @NFLGameDay: #Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa has no plans to retire, sources say. He’s already begun seeing concussion specialists and will continue to do so, but there is no timeline to return. Tua will be back when he and his doctors deem him healthy and ready. pic.twitter.com/Cc6aQI8HcZ
“Tua Tagovailoa and his doctors will be making the decisions about his playing, his health, they will be driving the process,” Rapoport said. “My understanding is that Tua Tagovailoa has no plans to retire, no plans to retire. In fact, his eyes are already on returning to the football field. As far as when that goes, we simply do not know, every concussion is different, the way every player responds to a concussion is different. He will be healthy enough to play, when he is healthy enough to play, when he and his doctors decide that. That said, he has already begun the process of seeing a concussion specialist as he did in 2022, wouldn’t be surprised if he saw the same doctors. The goal is to get on the field when he is ready, and that’s one reason Mike McDaniel didn’t put a timeline on it. Wouldn’t even address it, timelines lead to anxiety. As far as the football goes, wouldn’t be surprised if he misses multiple games, as Mike McDaniel said, Skylar Thompson the starting quarterback going forward.”
Adam Schefter of ESPN had a very similar report, saying that Tagovailoa will meet with neurologists this week and will enter that meeting with no plans to retire.
Tagovailoa’s history with concussions is well-documented, as he suffered one in college at Alabama and two during the 2022 campaign as a member of the Dolphins. This does not include another hit that he suffered in 2022, which led to the league changing its rules about reporting head injuries. Tagovailoa did say on the heels of his 2022 season that he considered retiring.
This past offseason, Tagovailoa and the Dolphins agreed to a 4-year contract worth $212.4 million, with $167.1 million guaranteed.
Netflix’s steady supply of original series receives a regular infusion of library editions, including August’s bountiful harvest of so many AMC shows. That includes The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, soon to premiere a second season, and Kevin Can Go F**k Himself, which concluded with two seasons although streaming viewers have been curious about a third installment. Meanwhile, the underappeciated Dark Winds truly will receive a third season that will air on AMC and stream on AMC+, presumably to land on Netflix at a later date.
The show hails from producers Robert Redford and the currently stressed-out George R.R. Martin, and if you were wondering, the fact that “Winds” is in the title of this noir crime thriller did make those waiting for Winds of Winter wonder if GRRM was trolling them (again?). However, Dark Winds stands on its own merits with no dragons needed to fuel the stories of 1970s-set Navajo Nation law enforcement. These officers handle everything from robberies to murders near a remote outpost while wading through personal and spiritual matters, too, so let’s get down to business with what we can expect next.
Plot
Dark Winds is adapted for the screen (from Tony Hillerman’s novels featuring Lieutenant Joe Leaphorn and Sergeant Jim Chee) by Native American writers, and over 90 percent of all cast and crew are Indigenous, which speaks to AMC’s commitment to bring Native stories to the forefront.
As viewers are aware, the first Dark Winds season adapts The Listening Woman involving a double murder, which is only one crime investigated by Lieutenant Joe Leaphorn (Zahn McClarnon), who finds that each case is linked back to the mine explosion that killed his son. The second season follows Leaphorn’s continued search for answers on his son’s death while adapting People of Darkness, and after that season finale, director Chris Eyre expressed hopes for more while noting the abundance of source material to draw from. “I think Tony wrote 18 books,” Eyre remarked to Variety. “And his daughter, Anne Hillerman, is continuing the series, and she has about five books, I think. So there’s 23 novels to cull from.”
AMC hasn’t provided a third-season synopsis yet, but the New Mexico Film Office published these clues on its website:
Season three picks up six months after the events of season two as the duo investigates the disappearance of two boys, with only an abandoned bicycle and a blood-stained patch of ground left in their wake. Meanwhile, Bernadette Manuelito (Matten) attempts to settle into her new life 500 miles from home with the Border Patrol but stumbles across a conspiracy involving human and drug smuggling with far-reaching implications.
These details (if still accurate) could indicate that the third season is adapting Hillerman’s The Sinister Pig novel as the backbone of this season’s plot, and presumably, we’ll see more hints from AMC before the third season arrives. In early July, as well, Chee actor Kiowa Gordon and AMC revealed on Instagram that the show was “almost done filming Season 3 in beautiful New Mexico!” And the finished project cannot come soon enough for AMC viewers and a newfound influx of Netflix subscribers.
Cast
Zac McClarnon (Fargo) returns as Lt. Joe Leaphorn with Kiowa Gordon (Roswell, New Mexico) as Jim Chee and Jessica Matten (Burden of Truth) as Sgt. Bernadette Manuelito. Beyond this trio, the third season will include an array of guest stars: Jenna Elfman as FBI Special Agent Sylvia Washington; Raoul Max Trujillo as as Budge; Bruce Greenwood as Tom Spenser; Christopher Heyerdahl as Dr Reynolds; and Tonantzin Carmelo, Alex Meraz, and Terry Serpico as Border Patrol agents.
Release Date
AMC has been close-lipped so far about the series’ return date, but in Fall 2023, a network statement pointed towards “a target premiere date in early 2025.” In early September 2024, George R.R. Martin began teasing that the season would arrive “soon,” but GRRM is not exactly the most reliable source when it comes to dates, so AMC’s previous window stands: early 2025.
Trailer
Until a teaser surfaces, and it shouldn’t be too long, since filming is wrapped, we will be all over it. Until then, here’s the Dark Winds cast discussing the importance of representation for Native American voices.
