Bella Thorne Broke An OnlyFans Record By Making An Incredible Amount Of Money In 24 Hours

OnlyFans, known by many as the “paywall of porn,” is a subscription-based service where creators can share videos and photos directly with fans. It was already plenty popular before Megan Thee Stallion’s “Savage” remix featuring Beyoncé (“Hips TikTok when I dance / On that Demon Time, she might start an OnlyFans”), but the website saw “a 15 percent spike in traffic” after the song was released, and its notoriety has continued to grow. Cardi B launched an account and Bella Thorne, from Assassination Nation, The Babysitter, and HBO’s Big Love, recently joined, too. She even set an OnlyFans record.

Variety reports that Thorne “officially earned over $1 million through revenue on the platform in the first 24 hours after debuting her account,” a new record. “Thorne announced her plans to launch on OnlyFans in a video montage posted to Instagram on Aug. 19. Since then her earnings from OnlyFans has jumped to about $2 million. Thorne is using OnlyFans to share personal content and never-before-seen photos and videos — available only to paying subscribers.” A one-month subscription costs $16.

Thorne’s successful OnlyFans debut has been a topic of conversation on Twitter. “I hope huge celebrities creating an OnlyFans and making huge profits inspires America to decriminalize sex work. Bella Thorne is making millions within hrs while sex workers are dying each day due to the illegality of their profession. Change it,” @thoughtfulbae tweeted, while @ynkkist added, “So y’all praise Bella Thorne for making millions of OnlyFans but when sex workers use the platform they get shamed and berated for it?”

If you subscribe to Thorne’s account and/or you believe in the decriminalization of sex work, be sure to also check out Sex Workers Outreach Project-USA, a network “dedicated to the fundamental human rights of people involved in the sex trade and their communities, focusing on ending violence and stigma through education and advocacy.”

Jason Bateman Teases The ‘Ozark’ Ending And Reveals How The Show’s Infamous Color Palette Happened

Netflix’s Ozark will start production this fall on a super-sized fourth season to end the show, and it’ll be wild to see how they follow up on that bloody third-season cliffhanger. Jason Bateman recently revealed that he made the tough decision to break tradition and not direct the season’s first two episodes, so that filming could go off with a few hitches as possible. The family’s messes will all be fully laundered, finally, and hopefully, there will be plenty of Marty Byrde losing his sh*t, and yep, there’s already a scripted ending.

Even though Bateman isn’t involved in writing the show, he is, as one might expect, aware of how the show ends and whether Marty and Linda Byrde get away with all of their ill-gotten gains. As he told IndieWire, he’s tried not to press showrunner Chris Mundy too hard on specifics, but he needed to know whether real consequences were afoot: “Specifically, what kind of happens at the end of the last episode: I know, and it’s great.”

Yes, vague. I like to think that, even though Marty’s done some bad things, he and the fam will somehow still end up in Aruba, soaking up the sun and… enjoying wearing colors other than blue? I kid on that last detail, but Bateman did drop some hints on why the show favors that desaturated color palette. He apparently started experimenting while directing Bad Words and The Family Fang and decided that “flatly lit, and with all wide lenses, super-saturated colors” didn’t need to be a rule for comedies, and he simply kept that ball rolling when he started work on Ozark.

Previously, Ozark Director of Photography Ben Kutchins confirmed to Decider that Bateman was definitely part of creating “a distinct look” for the series, and that comes through in “the way that we color correct the episodes,” among other factors that provide for a unique feel. They certainly succeeded, though it’d really be something if they started throwing pops of orange around. Or at least do that when Ruth enters the final season for the first time because (let’s face it) she’s gonna rule the world someday.

RZA Is Making The Story Of Martin Shkreli’s $2 Million Wu-Tang Clan Album Purchase Into A Movie

Martin Shkreli, the current federal prison inmate infamous for jacking up the price of antiparasitic drug Daraprim, unexpectedly became a part of one of the most peculiar music stories of 2015 and beyond. He bought a one-of-a-kind Wu-Tang Clan album from the group for $2 million, a sale the group later regretted. It was quite the tale that spanned years, and now it looks like it’s being made into a movie by Wu-Tang member RZA.

Collider reports that RZA is set to executive produce One Upon A Time In Shaolin (alongside Brad Pitt’s Plan B production company), and that it will be released on Netflix. The film will be directed by Paul Downs Colaizzo, director of the 2019 movie Brittany Runs A Marathon. The publication notes that the script “follows the auction for Wu-Tang Clan’s seventh studio album and its aftermath.”

After buying the album, Shkreli attempted to sell it on eBay. At that point, RZA says he tried to get the album back: “I’ve actually tried to get it back, but the paperwork and the contract stops me from getting it back. When [Shkreli] put it on eBay, the first thing I did was call my lawyer, and I was like, ‘Yo, let’s go.’ And they said, ‘All right, check with your contract.’ And it’s, ‘No, you can’t do it.’ Ain’t that a b*tch?”

Carole Baskin Hopes Kate McKinnon’s ‘Tiger King’ Show ‘Doesn’t End Up Doing What Cardi B Did’

It’s official that Kate McKinnon is playing eclectic animal activist Carole Baskin in a series based on Netflix’s Tiger King, the defining pop culture artifact of the quarantine-era (only half-joking!), and the real-life Cameo star has some thoughts.

“[Kate] has not reached out to me and I really hope that she does before she gets too far down the line with it. I’d love to know what her take is on it and what she’s thinking to do and see if there was any way we could advise her,” Baskin said on The Pet Show podcast co-hosted by Jimmy Jellinek and Dennis Quaid (not the cat Dennis Quaid, but the human Dennis Quaid). She then got into what she doesn’t want to see on the series:

“We reached out to her through the media — because I don’t have any way of contacting Kate McKinnon — but we had posted publicly that we really hope that her or anybody that does any kind of follow-up programming doesn’t end up doing what Cardi B did and hiring people that are exploiting and abusing cats. It’s like the worst thing you can do is abuse cats to show other people that you shouldn’t abuse cats.”

Cardi B and Baskin engaged in an unlikely feud over the use of tigers in the rapper’s “WAP” music video with Megan Thee Stallion. “You have to pose a wildcat in front of a green screen to get that image and that doesn’t happen in the wild… That tells me they probably dealt with one of the big cat pimps, probably even one of the ones shown in [Tiger King], who make a living from beating, shocking, and starving cats to make them stand on cue in front of a green screen in a studio. That’s never good for the cat,” Baskin said. Cardi’s response: “Like, girl you killed your goddamn husband.”

In the podcast interview, Baskin also joked (?) that she “could just slap” Chloe Fineman for her impression of her on SNL (Colin Jost can relate). “This whole, ‘My kitty, meow, meow, kitty, meow,’ and then she would just say these really weird words all in a row. That all became popular, I guess, in popular culture and people wanted me to talk like that on the Cameos… I have no idea how to talk like that. That is not how I speak.”

“That all became popular, I guess, in popular culture” is also how I’m going to describe Tiger King to my grandkids in 50 years.

Britney Spears’ Sister Jamie Lynn Was Named The Trustee Of Her Multimillion-Dollar Estate

The legal situation surrounding Britney Spears has proven to be complicated over the years, and now another wrinkle as been revealed. The Los Angeles Times notes that a court filing from last week reveals that Spears’ sister, actress Jamie Lynn Spears, is the trustee of her estate, and that she’s now seeking more authority over it.

Britney established the trust — named the “SJB Revocable Trust” and described by the LA Times as a “multimillion-dollar estate” — in 2004 to make sure her children’s future would be protected in the event of her death. A 2018 amendment said that upon Britney’s death, Jamie Lynn, who signed the document in Hammond, Louisiana last week, would administer the assets to Britney’s children. In a court filing from last week, Jamie Lynn requested that the assets of the trust be transferred to one or more accounts with Fidelity Brokerage Services, with her as the custodian of the account(s). If this request is approved, Britney’s financial assets would be placed in the account(s) and removing them would require the approval of a judge.

According to The Blast, the filing notes that upon Britney’ death, Jamie Lynn will ensure the money gets to Britney’s children: “Upon the settlor’s death, the entire principal of the Trust, including all accused and undistributed and unrealized income, together with any insurance on the settlor’s life or other assets payable to the Trust as a result of settlor’s death, shall be promptly distributed by the Trustee to the trustee or co-trustee of the BJS Kids & Family Trust, to be held, administered and distributed in accordance with its terms.”

The LA Times notes the filing doesn’t indicate what role this could have in Spears’ ongoing conservatorship situation.

Watch Doc Rivers Give A Powerful Speech In Response To The Police Shooting Of Jacob Blake

The Los Angeles Clippers beat the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night. After the game, Clippers coach Doc Rivers spoke to the media and gave a candid speech about the police shooting of Jacob Blake and his experience in America as a Black man. Rivers mentioned watching the “fear” that Donald Trump and members of the Republican Party have put on display, most recently during the first two nights of the Republican National Convention, before speaking broadly about why that is off-base.

“We’re the ones getting killed, we’re the ones getting shot, we’re the ones that were denied to live in certain communities,” an emotional Rivers said. “We’ve been hung, we’ve been shot, and all you do is keep hearing of fear. It’s amazing, to me, why we keep loving this country, and this country does not love us back.”

Rivers spoke to how he should not be constantly reminded of the color of his skin, and instead, he should just be a person who coaches basketball. He also called on individuals to “demand better” before pointing out the double-standard in how those protesting racial injustice are treated when compared to those who took up arms and stormed the Michigan capitol building in protest of COVID-19 lockdown measures enacted by the state’s governor.

“The training has to change in the police force, the unions have to be taken down in the police force,” Rivers would go on to say. “My dad is a cop, I believe in good cops, we’re not trying to defund the police and take all their money away. We’re trying to get them to protect us like they protect everybody else.”

From there, Rivers touched on Blake’s shooting, saying that any American should be “outraged” by the events that unfolded in the video that has circulated around social media in recent days. After again mentioning the fear being peddled at the RNC, Rivers discussed how white fathers don’t have to have conversations about “being careful if you get pulled over with their sons.”

Rivers mentioned the fact that the police officers who killed Breonna Taylor have not faced any charges, and to close, he gave one final plea.

“All we’re asking is you live up to the Constitution,” Rivers said. “That’s all we’re asking. For everybody. For everyone.”

Three Takeaways As The Clippers Bounced Back To Annihilate The Mavs In Game 5

The Los Angeles Clippers responded after getting shellshocked in Game 4 against the Dallas Mavericks. L.A. came out like a team with a purpose in Game 5 on Tuesday night, setting the tone early and cruising to the most emphatic win any team has had in the postseason thus far. By the time the dust is settled, Los Angeles found itself with a 154-111 win that somehow felt more lopsided than the final score appeared. Now, Doc Rivers and co. find themselves 3-2 up in the series.

The Clippers shot a scintillating 63.1 percent from the field, connected on a ridiculous 62.9 percent of their attempts from deep, and slowed down the vaunted Maverick offense. Before Game 6 takes place on Thursday, we lamented on a trio of takeaways from this one-sided affair.

The Clippers looked like champions

Los Angeles looked completely stunned during Game 4. They got out to a 21-point lead, blew that, and then just got absolutely obliterated by Luka Doncic, who could not do anything wrong. While the Clippers did have a few answers as the game went on, it just felt like Doncic was going to do something magical and lead Dallas to win, which ended up happening.

Far more concerning, though, was how Los Angeles seemed like it was a little bit off once Dallas made it a game. In Game 5, they had zero intention of letting that happen again. The Mavericks got out to a 16-9 lead, at which point the Clippers ripped off a torrid 32-6 run to end the first quarter. By halftime, the lead was 24. By the end of the third, it was 25, and the fourth quarter was a mere formality.

This is the L.A. team that a bunch of folks picked to win a championship. They were crisp on offense — their 154 points was a franchise playoff record, as was their 22(!) made threes — and ruthless on defense. While 111 points is a lot, it’s a relatively good night at the office against this historically great Dallas offense. They seemed to really enjoy going right at Doncic (more on this in a bit!) and embraced being a team of pests, even without Patrick Beverley. It was a stark reminder that when the Clippers are really locked in, they are going to be really, really difficult to beat, especially went Takeaway No. 2 happens.

Playoff P

The “Playoff P” thing has led to people getting a whole lot of jokes off at Paul George’s expense during the playoffs thus far. George is a very good player, but against Dallas, he’s really, really struggled, something that is applicable to his play on both ends of the floor. His offensive game has been off, while his defense, which can be stifling at times, has been just a hair worse than usual. Considering his offensive struggles, he’s needed to step it up on the defense of end of floor, and he hasn’t done that.

George admitted after Game 5 that he was “in a dark place,” but in his 25 minutes on the floor, he broke out of his slump in an emphatic way. He was magnificent, going for 35 points on 12-for-18 shooting and hitting four of his eight attempts from three. He was also engaged on the defensive end and was one of the players tasked with making Doncic’s life miserable.

A lot has been made of Playoff P, especially because the Clippers acquired him to pair with Leonard and win a title this year. That guy didn’t show up for the first four games. The hope in L.A. is that Game 5 was his arrival, and the best version of George is here to stay for the remainder of the postseason.

The Mavs got frustrated early

It was evident early on that this wasn’t going to be the Mavericks’ night. Once the Clippers started to pour it on in the first quarter, everyone on Dallas seemed a little off. Rick Carlisle and Luka Doncic both rode the refs a ton — the former got tossed, the latter picked up a technical foul that was so easy to see coming that Chris Webber was predicting it on TNT’s broadcast for a few minutes. Doncic still had a decent night (22 points, eight rebounds, four assists), but it wasn’t nearly up to the standard he’s capable of producing and his injured ankle seemed to really be bugging him.

Now, Dallas’ postseason comes down to one game. If they lose, their run is over, and if they win, they’ll force a decisive Game 7. They cannot have the attitude that they had on Tuesday night if they want to get there. Doncic has to be on his game, Kristaps Porzingis playing would be huge, and the various pieces around them have to hit shots. If they can do this, Dallas can win this series, even if there is an uphill climb ahead of them.

Nas Speaks On Repeatedly Sharing A Release Date With Jay-Z Over The Last Two Decades

This past Friday, Nas shared his 13th album King’s Disease and so far it’s been received well by fans. Supported by features from some of today’s favorites like Don Toliver, Big Sean, and Fivio Foreign as well as some names from the past including Charlie Wilson, AZ, and Foxy Brown, it appears as if Nas has worked his way into the good graces of fans. Stopping by The Breakfast Club to speak on the album, the hosts decided to ask Nas about his thoughts on having to share a release date with Jay-Z over the last two dates.

When asked about it, Nas saw it as no more than a coincidence. “I think maybe there’s an energy that we both have where we maybe we feel like we work around the same time,” he said in response. The question was rooted in Jay-Z and Pharrell’s single, “Entrepreneur,” which arrived on the same day as King’s Disease. The occurrence adds to a fairly long list of identical release dates which includes Nas’ Stillmatic and Jay-Z’s MTV Unplugged album with The Roots (December 18, 2001), Nas’ Street’s Disciple and Jay-Z’s Collison Course joint album with Linkin Park (November 30th, 2004), and on a more recent note, Jay-Z and Beyonce’s Everything Is Love album which arrived just a day after Nas’ Nasir release back in July 2018.

After DJ Envy from the The Breakfast Club relayed the multiple occasions where they both shared a release date, the list seemed to take Nas by surprise, but he still labeled it as nothing more than a coincidence. “Yo, bro that’s a hell of coincidence; that’s some confidence for you!” he said. “I think things just happen; just synergy, you know? Jay would know better than me.”

Watch Nas’ interview on The Breakfast Club above and move up to the 32-minute mark to hear him discuss the release date issue.

Three Takeaways From Denver’s Season-Saving Game 5 Win Over Utah

Early in the third quarter of Game 5 on Tuesday evening, the Denver Nuggets looked to be in severe trouble against the Utah Jazz. Donovan Mitchell and company led by as many as 15 points after halftime but, with a strong push at the end of the third quarter and an offensive blitz led by Jamal Murray in the fourth, the Nuggets avoided elimination and forced a Game 6 in style.

With that in mind, here are three takeaways from Game 5 to inform the proceedings on both sides.

Jamal Murray is on the heater of a lifetime

Jamal Murray is very good. This was well known before he even arrived in the NBA’s bubble, but the Nuggets guard took things to another level during Game 4 and followed it up by raising the stakes yet again in Game 5. Murray produced 50 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists (without a turnover) in a losing effort on Sunday but, this time around, he was the impetus in a victory.

On the night, Murray scored 42 points (on 17-for-26 shooting), grabbed eight rebounds and dished out eight assists, which is impressive enough on its own. In the second half, though, Murray was completely out of his mind, playing all 24 minutes and scoring 33 points on only 19 shooting possessions.

Along the way, Murray flashed the entire package, starting with a circus layup.

Then, he unleashed a shooting exhibition.

https://twitter.com/NBAonTNT/status/1298426969252483072

Finally, Murray iced the game by using his hot hand to draw the defense and find Nikola Jokic for the dagger.

It is fair to point out that Utah’s defense hasn’t been fantastic on Murray (more on that below), but the 23-year-old is thoroughly enjoying himself right now, and it is a lot of fun to watch.

The Nuggets still have defensive problems, headlined by Michael Porter Jr., but things were better in the second half

In the first quarter of Game 5, the Nuggets shot 52 percent and 7-for-11 from three-point range, with 21 points on 8-for-8 shooting from Jokic. It was a highly impressive offensive display but, unfortunately for Denver, it yielded only a one-point lead and that required a buzzer-beater from Jokic.

Denver’s defensive issues continued in the second quarter and, after the first four games, that wasn’t an overwhelming surprise. The Nuggets allowed 131.1 points per 100 possessions in falling into a 3-1 series hole and, without Gary Harris and Will Barton, Denver’s perimeter defense has been virtually nonexistent. Those issues aren’t solved after a stronger second half but, to their credit, the Nuggets executed at a much higher level, holding the Jazz to 43 percent shooting, forcing eight turnovers and providing legitimate resistance around the rim.

Mike Malone’s task will be inspiring that kind of effort again in Game 6 and (if needed) Game 7, but youngster Michael Porter Jr. is having his own set of problems. By now, it is widely recognized that Porter is a high-end offensive talent, with a sweet shooting stroke and the size and craft to allow him to create his own shot with ease. Defensively, though, it is a mess, which is part of the reason his deployment was limited during the regular season.

On the bright side, Porter was on the floor for most of Denver’s uptick in the second half, playing 18 minutes as the Nuggets made their push. It is even arguable that Porter provided a bit of additional spacing for Murray to work, with the defense having to respect him in a major way. However, it was evident throughout the second half and, especially, in crunch time that Porter’s defensive is a work in progress, to put it kindly. Malone will continue to juggle the need for Porter’s offense with the clear recognition that his lack of defensive awareness and execution can be brutal in big moments.

The Jazz are still in control of this series

Murray has been fantastic, Jokic is a proven star and Porter gives Denver an element of offensive upside they didn’t have before he arrived in the rotation. In the same breath, the Jazz hold a 3-2 lead and, with the second half of Game 5 not withstanding, Denver hasn’t shown it has consistent answers to stop Utah’s offense.

In the wake of his second half explosion, Murray will (rightly) garner the headlines, but Mitchell tossed up yet another 30-point effort and generally took advantage of Denver’s perimeter defenders.

From a standpoint of simple math, the Jazz needing to pick up only win, while Denver needs two, puts Utah in a fantastic spot. If anything, they’ve been the better team to this point in the series and, while defense has been a struggle on both sides, the Jazz have a longer track record of success on that end of the floor.

It is entirely possible that the Nuggets found something defensively after halftime and, if that holds, this series will continue to be must-see television over the next 48 or 96 minutes. It is also possible, however, that the Jazz will resume the form that netted them a 3-1 lead and a 15-point second half lead in Game 5.
