The Mandalorian remains shrouded in mystery in many ways, but we now know at least one major actor who will show up sometime in Season 2. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Justified and Deadwood star Timothy Olyphant snagged a yet-unknown role in the second season of the bounty hunter epic that’s set to drop new episodes this fall.
Olyphant, who most recently starred on Netflix’s Santa Clarita Diet, will appear in season two of the Disney+ Star Wars series, multiple sources tell Heat Vision.
It is unknown whether the actor will play a new character or a returning favorite in a new guise.
Disney has been extremely secretive about who was cast in the show, but we’ve slowly seen leaks reveal casting that gives us a firmer idea of what we’ll see as the space western develops in its second run. Considering the subject matter and style of the show, Olyphant is a perfect fit in a lot of ways regardless of which Star Wars character he gives life to from the series’ lore.
The news doesn’t mean Olyphant has any work ahead of him in the middle of the pandemic — Season 2 of Disney+’s tentpole operation was largely finished when things started to shut down back in March. But it does give us a better idea of what we’ll see from the second season in fall, and has led to a lot of speculation from fans about what role Olyphant will play in the series.
Disney has insisted that The Mandalorian will not be delayed despite the pandemic, so we should expect to see Olyphant — regardless of who he’s playing — sometime in October.

Presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden appeared in a virtual town hall-style meeting on MSNBC hosted by Lawrence O’Donnell on Thursday night. The event also featured an appearance by voting rights advocate and oft-rumored Democratic vice-presidential nominee Stacey Abrams.
During the event, Biden took questions from listeners on accusations of his sexual harassment, healthcare plan and of course, Donald Trump. The moment was particularly moving because it showed Biden’s natural empathy at a time when many Americans are suffering the loss of loved ones.
Biden’s ability to relate to everyday people in an authentic way has always been his greatest strength as a politician.
“As someone who has lost a wife and a daughter and a son and knows what it’s like to go through loss. What advice would you give to a family who has lost someone to COVID-19?” a listener asked.
The presumptive Democratic nominee has had to overcome unspeakable tragedy in his life. In December 1972 his wife Neilia and daughter Naomi were killed in a traffic accident. In May 2015, his son Beau died of brain cancer.

“The folks who’ve recently lost someone to COVID-19, eighty-six, almost eighty-seven thousand of them now, they feel like there’s a black hole in the middle of their chest. They’re being sucked into it,” Biden said. “They’re frightened and they are scared and they don’t know what to do.”
Biden knows there’s no easy way to get through the pain, but eventually people’s feelings evolve.
“All I can tell them is it will take time,” he said. “But, in time, what’s gonna happen is you’re gonna find when think of that son, daughter, husband, wife, mother, father you lost, you’re gonna get a smile on your lip before you get a tear in your eye and that’s when you know you’re gonna make it.”
His response was empathetic, but he also provided a specific way for people to focus their efforts to get through the sorrow.
“And the way you make it, at least in my experience … is that you have to have a purpose,” Biden continued. “Purpose will drive you to be able to control your life.”
“But what I have to say is they’re still with you. They’re in your heart,” Biden said. “They’re part of your soul. It’s who you are. And you’ve got to have faith that the time will come when you get through this veil of darkness. You really will. But the best way to get through it is with a sense of purpose.”
Although it’s difficult, one has to take the first steps toward healing themselves.
“You’ve got to move,” he said. “You’ve just gotta get up. As my dad would say, ‘When you get knocked down you just gotta get up.’ And think to yourself what would they want you to do?”
After three-plus years of having Trump in office who has little regard for anyone but himself, Biden’s heartfelt response is a reminder that it is possible to have a president that can feel a nation’s pain. After the COVID-19 virus passes America, our nation will need to heal emotionally as much as it does economically. Biden has the experience to help us do both.

Hulu has come down from the mountaintop like Moses himself to give us a new streaming guide for the month of June. The only commandment here is to make time for bathroom breaks and sleep, because between the new originals coming to the platform and the onslaught of blockbusters and classic movies arriving this month, you’ll need to ration out your time wisely — if only so your body doesn’t slip into hibernation mode from spending too long on the couch.
Here’s everything coming to (and leaving) Hulu this month.
Love, Victor (Hulu original series streaming 6/19)
Hulu rings in Pride month with this queer teen drama, a spin-off of the popular Love, Simon flick. This TV adaptation follows a new student, Victor, who arrives at Creekwood High School and sets out on a journey of self-discovery — one that tests his friendships, familial relationships, and his own view of himself. Fans of the film will probably notice some familiar faces but even if you didn’t catch the movie, this is worth a watch.
Crossing Swords (Hulu original series streaming 6/12)
For anyone not feeling particularly sentimental or, let’s face it, emotionally stable enough to watch a teen love story, there’s this animated gem from the creators of Robot Chicken. The film stars Nicholas Hoult — doing double duty for Hulu with this series and The Great — as a good-natured peasant who gets promoted to squire for the royal court and quickly learns the monarchy is a lot hornier and more incompetent than he ever imagined.
Shirley (film streaming 6/5)
Elisabeth Moss gives us another delightfully dark turn, this time as renowned horror writer Shirley Jackson. Jackson’s marriage is on the rocks, and the situation is only made worse when a couple of newlyweds moves in next door, heightening tensions between her and her adulterous husband. The two end up playing some sick, twisted games with their new neighbors and each other.

Days after UFC president Dana White announced his expectation for Khabib Nurmagomedov’s return to the Octagon at Fight Island this summer, the champ and his presumed challenger have made it clear they’re looking toward a showdown in September.
While Nurmagomedov grapples with his father’s health amid the ongoing COVID-19 global pandemic, the current champion told White he’ll be ready to go in September, per MMA Fighting.
“We’re talking about doing Gaethje vs. Khabib in September. Cause I talked to Khabib yesterday and he said September, ‘I’m ready to go in September,’” White said.
That’s good news for Justin Gaethje, the interim lightweight champion, who just days ago unleashed a five-round beatdown on Tony Ferguson to earn a TKO victory. The shift in timeline allows Gaethje more time to rest, recover, and prepare for his toughest task to date: slowing the unbeaten Nurmagomedov.
Despite his verbal altercation with Conor McGregor recently, the timeline adjustment won’t be opening any doors for the former two-division champion to get an expedited title shot.
“I can pick between Khabib and Conor right now. If I wanted to fight Conor right now, I could. Believe me. Why wouldn’t [UFC president] Dana White put that together? But that’s not the fight I want,” Gaethje told ESPN. “I have nothing to say to him. You don’t get to fight me next unless there are crazy circumstances, where Khabib cannot fight.”
For now, Gaethje will wait on Nurmagomedov for a title unification showdown. Should Gaethje win though, McGregor may be next in line.
“I’m here to make money,” Gaethje said. “When I beat Khabib, I will fight Conor because I’m trying to cash in.”

Thanks to the physical distance we’ve been asked to keep in order to limit the spread of the coronavirus, we’re all missing out on normal social interactions. We miss seeing our loved ones faces up close. We miss sitting at a dinner table with our extended family members. We miss hugging them.
Those of us who are huggers have been particularly put out by this major lifestyle change. Some people’s primary love language is physical touch and affection. The idea of not being able to express it adds an extra layer of stress over an already difficult situation.
So people are getting creative. However, in the age of coronavirus, creativity might not be the best idea.
A 10-year-old girl in California built a “hug curtain” so she could hug her grandparents and surprised them at their front door. Made from a plastic sheet, some paper plates cut into rings and plastic sleeves, the curtain seems to allow people to be physically close without exposing one another to the potential virus.
Another person shared a similar set up in a backyard, using a clothesline. The daughter’s joyful laughter while she hugs her mama just illustrates how wonderful being able to hug someone can be.
Others have created similar hugging barriers from shower curtains to PVC pipes placed in their yards.
However, one health expert is cautioning people against the “hug curtain” idea. Houston Health Authority and Medical Director, Dr. David Persse, told investigative reporters at KHOU-11:
“While I very much sympathize with the desire to embrace loved ones, especially during this challenging time, there is no adequate substitution for social distancing. A shower curtain hug, while creative, unfortunately, does not offer the level of protection needed to prevent the transmission of COVID-19. Although I understand the concept, a shower curtain is not personal protective equipment and using it as such includes the potential for exposure.”

VERIFY: Hug curtains are a thing, but are they safe?
www.youtube.com
There seems to be a short of virologists and public health officials sharing their thoughts on the hug curtain idea—they’re probably all a little busy right now. But at the very least, the idea should be approached with a healthy dose of caution.
We’re all being asked to sacrifice for the greater good right now and that’s difficult. Most of us are trying to heed the advice of public health experts to limit the spread of the virus by maintaining social distancing, even as some areas start to lift lockdown restrictions. While many of us could use a hug right now, we have to ask ourselves if it’s worth the risk.
None of this is easy, but we may need to hold out a little longer before we start hugging our friends and family again, curtain or no curtain.

Social distancing continues this weekend amid the global pandemic, and several new TV seasons are here for the binging. If nothing here suits your sensibilities, check out our guide to What You Should Watch On Streaming Right Now.
Snowpiercer (Sunday, TNT 9:00 p.m.) — The long-gestating TV reboot of Bong Joon Ho’s art-house-action/Noah’s Ark parable has arrived. Naturally, the series knew it could never match up to the movie masterpiece, and it sets itself apart so relentlessly that one must respect this train’s takeoff. Daveed Diggs (Hamilton) and Jennifer Connelly star in this imperfect but very entertaining series.
The Great (Hulu series, Friday) — Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult star in this period dramedy. He’s the Emperor of Russia, and she’s his bride-to-be, and let’s just say that The Favourite fans are going to love this absurd series.
Seberg (Amazon Prime movie, Friday) — Kristen Stewart plays French New Wave and Breathless star Jean Seberg, whose life and career were destroyed by FBI surveillance and harassment following her civil rights activism.
Defending Jacob (Apple TV episode, Friday) — Chris Evans’ dad/ex-prosecutor character attempts to pull off a few last-ditch efforts to prove the innocence of his son, who’s been charged with murder.
White Lines (Netflix series, Friday) — Following the disappearance and death of a legendary DJ, his sister returns to Ibiza to help investigate what really happened. This leads to dark discoveries about herself as the lies and cover-ups of the dance club circuit begin to surface.
Here’s the rest of this weekend’s notable programming:
Friday Night In with The Morgans (Friday, AMC 10:00 p.m.) — Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Hilarie Burton are back, hopefully with more insight into The Walking Dead.
Betty (Friday, HBO 11:00 p.m.) — This week, Honeybear’s coping with a crush while birthday plans are afoot for Janay, as Skate Kitchen director Crystal Moselle (The Wolfpack) brings back her O.G. crew for this funny and freewheeling series about a group of young women who are much cooler than all of us.

Supergirl (Sunday, CW 9:00 p.m.) — Watch out, Girl of Steel. The penultimate fifth-season episode sees Lex Luthor and Leviathan come together in an attempt to destroy her.
Penny Dreadful: City of Angels (Sunday, Showtime 10:00 p.m.) — Josefina Vega deals with a harrowing encounter, and Lewis is seeking assistance from a gangster.
Insecure (Sunday, HBO 10:00 p.m.) — Issa decides to randomly do good in Los Angeles after the block party goes incredibly wrong, and she finds an unexpected source of comfort.
Run (Sunday, HBO 10:30 p.m.) — Ruby and Billy are full of arguments over whether to turn themselves in as the new show from Fleabag and Killing Eve dynamic duo Vicky Jones and Phoebe Waller-Bridge barrels toward a conclusion.
Harley Quinn (Sunday, Syfy 11:30 p.m.) — The Legion of Doom sends Harley a party invite, and it looks like she must spend time with… Joker? Uh-oh.
